Upload BOM - validity dates items
Hi All,
we want to upload BOMS with historical data in it. So I need to 'upload' the validity dates, but I'm not sure on how to do this...
Is there someone who can point me in the right direction ?

U follow BDC method ..Its very easy to upload the data with out any problem according to ur flat file.
In BDC u use recording with call transaction method.

This are the basic IMG settings in order to used the engineering change management
features.
x refers to a tick.
First setup the control data in OS54.
Revision sections
Fields :-
Revision level active x
Ext. revision level x
Higher revision level x
Object Management Record sections
Fields :-
Object maintenance x
Assign alternative date x
Overide value/assignment date sections
Fields :-
Only with leading change mst. x
Setting the Revision level active is to activate the engineering change management for
material master. If you do not want the engineering change management for materials,
remove the tick.
With a tick in "Higher revision level", the new revision level has to be always higher
than the old revision.
Secondly, setup the external number range in OS53.
If you use the internal number range, then remove the external number range.
Third, define the status for the change master records in transaction SM30 - V_T419S.

Fourth, define modification parameters for the BOM in OS27.

The rest of the fields are blank.
If the History Requirement is tick, every time during creation of the BOM, SAP will
prompt your for an ECN number as is compulsory.
Lastly, define fields selection for routing in OP5A.
PP task lists: initial screen -> Change number -> Transaction code -> Tick Req.
Setting the Transaction code fields Required indicate that you have make the ECN number ........

I am a new in apex and I am trying to disable a item change when a item date is less than a sysdate,
I have created a validation : SQL expression :
to_date(:P3_data,'dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi') >= sysdate
Error message:
You can not change the item placar right now.
but it is not working , the error message is not showing up.
Any ideia?
thanks.Firstly, make sure that the date mask you are using is the same as the one specified in your date picker.
Secondly, your requirements is a little conflicting as it stands. Here is why:
a. Validation's purpose is to prevent invalid data from beng saved. So, when a validation fails an implicit rollback is perfored (or the commit does not occur). This implies that the data though on the page will not be saved in the table(s).
b. An item can be disabled when it is fetched and displayed using conditions in ReadOnly section on the item. But, when the validation fails the data is not written to table and page item will still carry the ealier value from the database ( or will be null depending now how it came up ) and will not be disbaled
c. If you want to disable the item inspite of having a validation then you will have to use javascript triggered on the onchange event on the date item. But then where is the need for a validation as you are taking a "suo moto" action of disabling?
In a nutshell you either disabble the item and allow the commit to happen, or perform a validation and give the user an opportunity to correct date.

BOM validity dates........

When a new alternative BOM is created ......the vaild to date of the item level is comming same as the vaild from date.........
As my understanding the valid from date is same as the change number date but from where SAP picks the valid to date..........

Actually BOM item from date comes as todays date
and Valid from date come default as 31/12/9999
And ECN to change BOM.
If u change BOM and change change number and try to delete item in BOM
problem occurs to date of validity.

1.As far I know I dont think we can fix the Valid to Date for a BOM.
2.Even Using ECM you can not fix the Valid To Date for a BOM.
3.Using with or without ECM you can change the Valid From date of a BOM while
creation itself .
4.If you do so then the BOM will be valid only from the date which you entered
while creation.
5.ECM is used only to track the Changes that happened for BOM items along
with the date effectivity.BOM history can be obtained.

what is the significance of activating BOM Low Validity Date (OS27) ..??
Is it required if SAP online activities are started as on date..??
While uploading BOM with LSMW, whether we have to maintain BOM validity dates (from n to) ..?
or system will take from date as data upload date and to date as 31.12.9999..??

If you tick the Low Date then system will take the default date defined(which is 01/01/1900) whenever new BOM is created or edited.
It is nothing but the lowest processing date,if this field is not ticked then system will take todays date as the lowest procseeing date
I dont think you need to maintain them in the LSMW,you can maintain them as default vlaues

ALE BOM. Updates ALL! items with validity date & change no.
Hi All,
We are having problems where ALE-BOM sent with change in validity date (with change no) to a particular item. What happens is that ALE-BOM will instead update ALL! items with the same validity date and change number.
Next,when we process ALE again for the same BOM with a different validity date(with change no), then only that
particular item is updated with validity date and change no.
Would anyone know what could be the problem that when changes are sent for the first time all items are updated?

The error itself telling you the correction. You profit center which is assigned to your cost center has a validity date less than the one you are now assigning.You can check in KE52 against the profit center assigned to your cost center master data. However the best thing is to go to KS01 and create this cost center with desired validity date.
This will resolve your issue.

Valid to date for BOM Header and Item

I have been searching for "valid-to" date for BOM header and Items since several days but no luck ..
I know we can see it using transactions cs11/cs03 etc. But i wish to know the table where they are stored. As I need to extract them to BW.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

In table STPO,the field AEDAT gets updated only when a change number is used,otherwise the valid to date will be shown nil here.

Problem finding Valid To Date or Change number to on BOM

BOM "valid from date" in transaction CSKB
The business process is like this -
1. We create sales order ( VA01)
2. In sales order, we enter configurable materials as items.
3. Then we freeze/change the BOM for sales order and line item through t-code CSKB.
The problem is in CSKB, "Valid from date" of order BOM components is defaulted using the "required delivery date" in Sales Order. We want to default current date (system date) as the "valid from date". Please suggest how it can be done.

While creating the BOM have you used the change number ...? if yes then display that change number and check wheather do you have any alternative date mention in it.
check validity date of change number as well as BOM validity.
another reason can be you need to apply SAP note 1278790.

Upload multiple files to a data item in sharepoint list
The image above shows a list item with two pdf files attached to it. This is an access databse that was pushed to this sharepoint list. When we attached these files we used the "attach file" from the edit menu at the top of the page.
They are put into a data item called "copy of sepration report", which I can't seem to find when I edit the list. As a further on discussion of this we would like to be able to upload multiple items into their own data field. I.E.
one could be seperation report, and another could be accidents, and another would be disciplinary. Each would have the capability of having multiple items uploaded to it.
What am I missing????Since you can't attach document to list item field, you may need to think other way around. You can create a document library and have the document library all these fields (separation report, copy of separation report etc.). So instead of list item having
the documents attached, the document library will have the fields attached. Also you can group the fields into two groups - fields that are not directly related to document and fields that are directly related to document. Then you can move the document related
fields to document library and create another list with the non-related-to-document fields and linking this new list to document library using lookup

It completely depends on clients requirement. but following are few approaches:
1. Define Building as Asset Class.
2. Create a Building at specific location at asset code and
3. create asset sub numbers for other components.
other approach would be:
1. Define Building as Asset Class.

Dear all,
I'm strugling on changing the valid-to date for a BOM component.
Let me explain in detail what the scenario is and what I've done so far.
I have a BOM header "Z" with 5 different components, Y, X, W, V and U. Validity dates should be as follows:
- Y --> 02.04.2010 to 31.12.9999
- X --> 02.04.2010 to 31.12.9999
- W --> 02.04.2010 to 31.12.9999
- V --> 02.04.2010 to 20.02.2012
- U --> 21.02.2012 to 31.12.9999
I have created a change number with validity date 21.02.2012, but when trying to change BOM components validity dates fields will be grey and won't allow me to do the necessary changes.
Could you please guide me with the necessary steps that I need to follow or where my issue would be? - I have already been checking the forum and followed some of your tips(checked config and so on, and everything seems to be ok).
Thanks a lot in advance for your help on this one as it's quite urgent to solve this so we can test it, as we need to provide with some explamples on how material variances report will be affected to client ASAP.

you just need to create a change number with the valid date you want for component , example if you create a change number valid from 01.01.2010 and if you use it for changing BOM , all the changes you made will have this validity date.
its not possible to input validity dates, so all the times it will be greyed out , you can control it as discribe above.
in you case you need to create 2 change numbers , 1 with valid from date in 02.04.2010 and use it for component Y X W and V
and others with validity date 21.02.2012 and use it for component U.
another thing please keep in mind if you BOM is created in todays date or date which is greater then 02.04.2010 will be a problem , so suggestion is while creating BOM , use a change number which is valid from 02.04.2010 and cause of it all 4 components will be automitacily hace valid date 02.04.2010.
and after creating this BOM with 4 component use a second change number and add component U.

Unable to generate IDOCs in BD30 for BOMs because of Validity Date
Hello everyone,
I am having a unique issue with our Bills of Materials. After they are created and set to active, they have validity dates that go from 2001 to 9999. When I go to BD30 to distribute the BOM to the external systems I am getting the following error message:
No bill of material exists on 08/25/2009 for 2557B27H02/FBLR/1/01
Message no. BOM014
Diagnosis
You want to distribute BOM 2557B27H02/FBLR/1/01 via ALE. However, the BOM is invalid on 08/25/2009.
System Response
The system does not distribute the BOM.
Procedure
Check the BOM's validity.
If you want to distribute all BOMs with the change status for another key date, enter another valid-from date on the initial screen.
If you only want to distribute a certain BOM with the change status for another key date, enter another valid-from date or a change number on the selection screen.
We get this for any BOM in this system.
This is our QA environment and do not have this problem in our Development system. BD30 finds the BOM we specified but claims it is invalid on that date.
We are trying to figure out if there is another status or approval step that I am missing here.

Enter a lower validity date like 8/25 2004 and try. If not check if there is any change management activated. Also check the ignore distribution lock. Please revert for further discussion

Trans ME31K:Defaulting item condition validity to contract validity date
Hello Experts,
I have a request from my client which is as follows :
On transaction ME31K (Create Contract), at header I can enter a start date and an end date for the validity of my contract.
Program name : SAPMM06E
FIELD-NAMES : EKKO-KDATB & EKKO-KDATE
The users want the same date range to appear at item level for the conditions :
Select a new created Item > Conditions.
Program name :SAPMV13A
FIELD NAMES : RV13A-DATAB & RV13A-DATBI
Because, the transaction is changing the program name, it is very difficult for us to replicate the dates at the item's condition level.
Can you please suggest any idea to implement this solution ?

But actually, my client wants 'from date' of the items conditions to be defaulted to the date that he indicated on the contract's validity date at header (from date - EKKO-KDATB).
A contract can be created with a validity interval that starts from a past date.
