Upload BW favorites on Portal

Hi All,
Using 'Role Upload' option in Portal, I have uploaded all BW roles on Portal. Is there any way that I can upload BW favorites on Portal for a particular user.
Thanks,
Shiraz

Not easily, and it would mean making a role for each user! The user's favories can be obtain through an RFC call, or you could just give the user their easy access menu by calling transaction SMEN.

I'm at a customer site and they want the user favorites in the BW system to come in to the Portal for a particular user.

Go to System Administration role > Transport> Role upload. Select the Role upload choose preview, then on the popup screen you can choose the source system from which you need upload the role.Object type which you want to upload choose role here. Then select and add the role which you want to upload and then choose next and finally define the path in your PDC where you want upload the role. Thanks and Regards,
    Abhiram Choudary.

    Hi Abhiram,
Please check it the link to the file uploaded file is ok, in order to make sure that there is a problem with the upload. The link should look like: <Protocol>://<Portal_Server_Name>:<Port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/<your_Folder>/<your_wordfile_name>.doc
    or

If it's that's not the case you might need to change the configuration of the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/7d/236cfa17034a37a439dc392ec59eb0/content.htm">URL Generator Service</a>. Perform the steps indicated under "Activities".

  • Change the name from Portal Favorites to Portal Favourites

    Hi,
There is a requirement that where ever in Portal, the name of Portal Favorites should be changed to Portal Favourites.
So when I add something to Portal Favorites in Portal, then there we get Organize Entries in the context menu and opening this it will open a pop-up having name as Favorites.
I searched and come to know that this is coming from a folder under KM Content /userhome/<portal-userid>/Favorites.
If I changes the name Favorites to Favourites then it reflects to that corresponding id, but changing from here for every portal-userid will be very difficult.
Can someone tell how we can change on global basis for every portal user.
    Regards,
    Deep Nain Kundra

    Hi there,
The iView called "Favorites" in Content Provided by SAP > End User Content > Standard Portal Users > iViews > com.sap.km.iviews points to a KM folder which you can find in Content Administration > KM Content > root > Entry Points > Favorites. You can change the name of this folder: with Entry Points > Favorites selected choose Folder > Details and then Settings > Properties, set the name to whatever you like and click Save.
Now this isn't 100% effective but if a user accesses the Organize Entries command from the Favorites context menu, they will now see your custom folder name. A preview of the iView will show the same.
What this doesn't do is change the name of the Entry Point, so a user looking under Documents will still see the heading "Favorites". According to SAP Help this can be changed by creating a custom bundle file, but despite following the steps detailed in [Changing Labels and Symbols for Entry Points|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/36/8b6b4066d9bf49e10000000a1550b0/content.htm] I have not had success with this.

I would like to ask you how can i rename the description or even delete favorites at my favorites list which I have created from the BW Portal (Web)?
    Great Thanks in Advance...!!!!
    Kind Regards

    Hi,
I doubt if a developer will have an authorization to add or delete favorites at portal level.
In my company, these are handled by basis team.
    Thanks.

    Hi Chetna,

  • Upload Excel File from Portal (R/3 working fine)

    Hi Experts!!
We have a report in which we are uploading an excel file from presentation server into an itab. When F4 clicked for file path, browser will open for choosing the path. Now, we have created an iView in Portal for this t-code. However, F4 is not working from Portal, rather giving an error 'Please wait. You will be forwarded automatically. This page had to be included for technical reasons.'.
We need to upload excel file even from Portal too. Can somebody please give me some inputs or suggestions?

    Hi Jigar,
Now I am able to get into SAP screen. However it's not opening the t-code that I mentioned. I gave some Z t-code ZTEST. Once I check the iView, it is showing SAP screen with the below things:
    Service Type:
    Service ID:
    TCode: ZTEST
    Object Type:
    Key:
    Field 1:
    Val. 1:
    Field 2:
    Val.2:
    Field 3:
    Val 3:
And at the bottom it's giivng a warning message:
Object type or object does not exist
    Message no. 1W001
In iView properties I can see Object Type as com.sapportals.portal.iview. Is this the same Object Type that the message is talkign about? Can you please help me out?

  • Upload File fails in Portal

    Hi,
We have a 3 tier portal environment, all are EP60 SR1. Within our QA portal, we have an upload problem. When you try to upload a file from the client, using the browse, upload method, the page just seems to ignore the request and reload. We've tried this on our DEV portal and this works fine. This happens within ANY area that uses this function, e.g.. Content Administration > Portal Content > Import > Client.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Craig

    Craig,
We have the exact same problem. Did you solve it?
    Thanks in advance
