Upload custom mp3's to iCloud bypassing iTunes Match?

I want to upload mp3's that I have made to the cloud and not have to sit for 10 minutes (or more) while iTunes Match looks for something it's not going to find.  Is there a way to temporarily disable iTunes Match on my computer  I uploading to the cloud and turn it back on after?  Or something?  And if so, will it just hang up again anyway when iTunes Match is re-enabled?
FYI, I'm doing this on my home computer.  Once the files are in my iTunes there, I will be syncing playlists that use these files to my iPod and iPad.
Thanks for any input!!

(the reason I don't want to wait is because I'm trying to add it to a playlist, and it won't let me because it's not in the cloud yet.  I'm usually adding them and then need to go - can't sit around and wait for something useless!)

  • I keep getting errors when iTunes uploads newly-imported music to iCloud through iTunes Match. Is there something that needs to be corrected when importing my music?

Here is the what the message window says when I click on the iCloud symbol with an exclamation point:
"This item was not added to iCloud because an error occurred."
It happens erratically.  I thought it was my computer at home (a PC), so I tried importing the music on my work computer (an iMac).
It happens on both, and the same songs. Sometimes it's up to half of the songs on a CD.
I can't figure out why it's doing this.

Sounds like your library database may be being corrupted. With iTunes 11 an "empty" library will show the previous purchases of the account that is currently signed in. To prevent this go to iTunes Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. Have you actually checked the hard drive to see if the media is still present? Chances are you need to restore an older library file in the way set out below...
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
The images are from Windows XP, but the principle is the same. Depending on the age of you library the library file may not include the .itl extension.

  • HT204406 I can't upload an album to my iCloud through iTunes match.

An album a friend recently shared with me won't upload to my iCloud - it's not an option if I right-click the songs. Any idea why?

I have the same issue.  My hardrive crashed on my PC and I lost my entire itunes library.  I have all my music uploaded in the iCloud using iTunes Match and would like a way to download it all to my PC.  Is there no way to do this?

  • How do I consolidate all this at this point: Icloud Drive, Itunes Match, Local iTunes Library, Local iPhoto, Local Aperture, Photo stream, Familly sharing, sharing on iOS, music sharing on iOS, music sharing on mac etc.

I am trying to grasp all the possibilities for consolidating my stuff and my family's stuff from multiple devices and multiple accounts from multiple sources  but I cant.
I have been reading many instructions and FAQ regarding iCloud Drive, iCloud Sharing, iTunes Match, Familly Sharing, file size limitations on iCloud Drive, app sharing on iOS, Backup vs Sync vs cloud sharing,  storing iWork documents on iCloud drive, storing iTunes library on iCloud Drive, storing iPhoto library on iCloud Drive, storing Aperture library on the iCloud, the Photos app on iOS with iCloud and many others.... but I feel like I need a systems admin course from apple to manage all of it.
This is what I and my family currently have:
Hardware: Multiple iPhones, Multiple Macs, Apple TV (with hard drive), Multiple iPads.
Operating systems: Everything is upgraded to the latest iOS and Yosemite.
    Libraries:
    1)  Multiple iTunes Libraries locally stored on Macs and IPhones with lossless CD music and iTunes purchased music. What I want to do:
    a) Have a main family shared iTunes library across ALL devices that contains our Lossless music and purchased music. so that it can be played across ALL   devices. With the ability to have private music for each individual (Not shared).
    b) Purchase new music and add it to the family share or purchase music and make it private (Not shared).
    2)  Multiple iPhoto Libraries macs (With photo stream from iPhones) and ONE Aperture Library on my mac. What I want to do:
    a) Have a main family shared photo library that every one can deposit to and view.
    b) Store individual iPhoto libraries on iCloud Drive(s)? So that everyone can have their own library and edit it across THEIR devices.
    c) Store and use my Aperture Library on iCloud Drive?
    Other documents:
iWork files, PDFs etc. What I want to do:
    a) Have a main family shared area (on iCloud Drive i suppose) where we can share documents.
    b) Sync private documents across ALL individuals devices (Available locally and on iCloud).
    c) Store private documents (One instance)  on iCloud drive and make them available on ALL individuals devices.
    d) Backup of local documents?
    Apps:
    iOS apps:
    a) Share purchased apps?
    b) Not share private apps.
    Storage:
What do I purchase to accomplish the above:
    a) iCloud storage for everyone?
    b) iTunes Match for everyone?
    c) All of the above?
    Conclusion:
It would be great for Apple to explain all this with all the options in one concise document instead of hunting down individual documents and sections all over the place.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hey there!
You and I are data soulmates. I have been having this trouble for a while and have yet to get my head around it. Our problem is that we've cycled through multiple macs and the "home" or "host" for all the stuff that's now been moved or moving to the Cloud is very scattered. It drives me crazy... almost to the point where I'm thinking about starting a brand-new iCloud account and beginning from scratch.
If you have any experiences or recommendations you could share about your strategy, I would love to hear it.

  • I have mulitple copies appearing on my ipad after using icloud and itunes match, how do I get only 1 copy to appear?

I am new to the Ipad, I just got the Ipad with retina display in and only have a 16gb memory. I wanted to use Icloud for my music and other items, but when I started using Icloud and Itunes match, my Ipad has up to 3 of the same song listed on the song list. and will repeat when I am listening to my music. I was wondering how I can get those multiple copies go away to just 1.

  • Additional space on iCloud with iTunes match

Hello, do I have to buy additional iCloud space if I would use iTunes match, or my songs will not be in my original iCloud? (my iCloud space is 5 gigs, but my music collection is about 70 gigs). Thanks a lot !

No. iCloud and iTunes match are two different services. There is no limit except on number of songs you can have matched to iTunes match.

  • ICloud and iTunes match

Have an iPhone4 and iPad2 both with all latest updates. Also using iCloud and iTunes Match.
What is the best way to set these up? I don't need music on either device but noticed my entire iTunes library on both devices. I really don't need music on either device except what I choose for each. Noticed my phone close to needing more storage, so I tried to swipe and delete albums but nothing happened. I went  to the music icon and deleted everything which showed  no data.  Then selected the music icon at bottom of phone and all the music is still there.
I also backed up the phone and iPad on iCloud but nothing shows on iCloud.
What is suggested? Should I back these up to iCloud or to themselves or even iTunes? ITunes Match allows access to iTunes library in ICloud but checking iCloud I don't  see an iTunes library or iPhone in iCloud. Perhaps I don' need iTunes Match?
Need some guidance on the best way to set things up and what some of you have done. Also how do I delete the music on the phone with what I described earlier.
    Thanks
    Don

iCloud and itunes match are different services.  iCloud really has no impact on iTunes match.  When you set up itunes match, I assume your itunes music library was synced up to the match cloud.  You other devices list all the music but don't have it physically on the device until you download it.
You might post over at the itunes match forum where users there are more knowledgeable than most here.

  • Music on iCloud and iTunes Match

I currently have both iCloud and itunes Match for all of my music files.  Since I was traveling to a country with limited WiFi access, I decided to dowmload most of my music onto my iPad so I could access it...which exausted most of my storage capacity (64 GB).  I would now like to reverse this process, removing my music from  from my iPad capacity back to iCloud/Match...which made my music available but didn't use up my storage...HELP !

Remove a song that’s been downloaded.  Swipe left, then tap Delete.
Just show music that’s been downloaded from iCloud.  Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.
Remove iPad from your list of “iTunes in the Cloud” devices.  In iTunes on your computer, choose Store > View Account. Sign in, then click Manage Devices in the “iTunes in the Cloud” section.

  • Using iCloud and iTunes match, should I still wirelessly sync with my computer iTunes?

Using an iPhone 4 with the latest updates. I keep getting an error message syncing over my wireless network that says "Cannot sync phone. There are too many files open" from iTunes on my compter. Should I turn off the wireless syncing now that I'm using iCloud and iTunes Match?
There are 4 iPhones that are using this feature on our network, plus AppleTV 2.

Even though you have iTunes match and iCloud, there are several other types of media that aren't included in either of the services, such as movies, photos etc, if you aren't syncing any of these to your phones, then you may well be able to turn iTunes wifi sync off.
Personally, I would want to find the cause of the error message and use the iTunes sync for backup, I consider it far more reliable and convenient than iCloud for back up

  • How can I access songs that have been uploaded to my iCloud with itunes Match on a different (work) PC?

I have logged in with Itunes Match on my work PC, but after 'gathering information about itunes' Itunes Match says the maximum songs that can be uploaded that were not purchased in itunes is 25000 and iMatch stops. All I want to do is have access and the ability to download songs that iMatch has already uploaded to iCloud from my home PC.
    Please Help

Place that first folder of photos that you synced to the iPad within the main folder of photos that you sync from and select them to sync again. You can place any number of subfolders within the main folder that you sync from and select those folders to sync. Just "tick"(select) the folders in the photos tab in iTunes.

  • Uploading songs to iCloud via iTunes Match from multiple computers?

I've already setup match on my Windows 7 Desktop, and have uploaded iTunes match and everything worked out well there.
The problem I have arises when I connect my second device (OS X Lion laptop) to the same iTunes match account. The library appears and I can download songs from iCloud just fine, but iTunes match does not try to upload music from the 2nd library that did not exist on the first.
Is this a known feature limitation? Was iTunes match only designed to upload from one and deposit on many? or is it upload from all download to all?

    Thanks Mike.
I also called Apple support and got the same answer. Theoretically it should work, but if it isn't a few things might help:
    1. try re-associating the iTunes account to the 2nd source
    2. try updating the icloud via: Store -> Update iTunes Match
    3. try removing the songs from your iLibrary (you may or may not get a "Delete from iCloud", even if the songs are not showing up in iCloud, and then re-add to your library by finding the files via Finder and dragging them into the library.
The 3rd step solved my problem. Apple support said this may be an issue but the manual re-addition is what fixed it for me.
Also, there is a 25,000 song cap and 250mb/file cap on any uploads.
    Good luck others,

  • Will a song uploaded to iCloud via iTunes Match be deleted if the song is deleted locally?

Is it safe to remove songs from iTunes to free up space on one's hard drive after they have been uploaded to iTunes Match?  That is, will the song in iCloud be deleted if the song is deleted locally?
    Thanks.

I think iTunes Match is still in beta so I wouldn't do that unless I was sure of my personal backups. I'm not sure I would do that even if iTunes Match wasn't in beta. At least not for several months to let the service shake out problems first.
Edit: I didn't find the words Beta on any Apple documentation so I think that part is wrong. I was taking Chris Breen's word for it from Macworld.com but he might have meant it ironically. But as I said, I still would be hesitant to delete from my library just yet.
