Upload docs not publishing to site

hi there,
I have set up contribute for a website, I myself can add a
link to a pdf on my machine, and upon publishing, the file will be
uploaded to the right place and is linked to that published
version.
Another user, upon creating a link to a PDF or any file and
publishing, the file will not be uploaded to the server and the
link will still point to the File location on their local machine
e.g ("c:\documents\file.pdf" not "
http://www.sitename/docs/file.pdf")
The rest of the page uploads fine, so all content is uploaded
but the file wont upload, and the link wont work because its
pointed to his local machine.
It works on my machine, but not his
Can anyone help, any assistance will be ever grateful..
Thanks in advance.

Hi
One way is setting a region in secondary as 'set replaceable' and geting ssURL from the code and link them in primary page.

  • Any way to not publish all sites to .Mac?

    Hello,
I have a website that I publish to my .Mac account for my own personal use. However, I have been asked by my community band if I could come up with a website for the band. This would require me however to publish the site to a folder for uploading to external hosting.
Is there any way when I update my personal site not to have everything published to .Mac?

Another way to ease the management and publishing of multiple sites is to use iWebSites.
I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want. It might be what you're looking for.

  • Not publishing entire site with all pages from site studio Designer

    Hi,
I have created the site with one primary page & one secondary page in the site designer. I must admit that they don't have link to each other. When I publishing this site using Oracle Site studio publishing utility to a subscriber, it is publishing the primary page as index.htm in the destination. It is not pulling the secondary page. But i would like to get the entire site including the secondary page. What needs to be done to get the entire site. If you have any idea, please let me know.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Can not publish Muse Site

Two days ago I changed my Adobe ID email/password which now seems to have thrown up an issue with Business Catalyst/Adobe Muse - wondered if anyone could help?
When I log into businesscatalyst.com, I am able to log in with my new Adobe ID email and password. But when I click on 'my details', it is showing my old email address in greyed-out text and won't allow me to change it.
In addition to this, in Adobe Muse, when I go to publish my site (which has already been published to my Business Catalyst account) it now asks me the following:
"Please enter your Adobe Business Catalyst password to upgrade your account to use Adobe ID. Once upgraded, future interactions with Adobe Business Catalyst will require your Adobe ID credentials."
My updated email address is already there, and is un-editable. However when entering my password it tells me password is incorrect.
At the moment I am not able to publish any websites created through Adobe Muse.
I am also unable to delete the current version of the site published to my Business Catalyst, as when I click 'delete site' it asks for my account credentials, providing my OLD email address and asking for a password. Neither my old or my new password works with this.
In Muse's preferences, Publish with Account is set to "*my updated email* - Adobe ID"
I've tried Help / Deactivate Adobe Muse / Remove my user account from this machine and signing back into Muse using my updated email and password. My old email and password does not work.
Any help would be much appreciated!

  • Uploaded doc not visible immediately

    Dear KM friends,
I created a KM Navigatio iView and a page.
assigned the iview to the page and started using it in an EP user.
problem is, if i create or upload a new document it does't appear. i refreshed the iview and page. that time it displays. again if i click on km link from Deatailed Navigation again same problem.
Can anybody help me what is problem, and how to make the newly created document to be visible immediately.
I am using Isolation Method as URL of iview.
    any hopes?
    plz reply me
    thanx in advance
    Lakshmikantha

    Hi,
do you upload the document from within the iView that displays the folder where you upload the document in? If so, it should be visible immediately - if you use KM's standard upload command.
However, if you upload the document from another iView, the other iViews will not be informed via eventing. You have to refresh these iViews.
Also, if you upload with your own command and propably just open a new browser window for upload, the "parent" iView will not get a refresh-event after your upload completed.
    Kind regards

  • Hyperlinks not opening when site published to folder... suggestions please!

I have published an iWeb site to a folder so I can burn the contents onto DVD for students, rather than putting it out on the www.
A PDF file I have hyperlinked to opens fine when I visit the site. A powerpoint show and a word doc however do not. When those hyperlinks are clicked, it opens the folder that it is published to, with the correct file in it, and with that file highlighted. This needs to be clicked on to open the file. How can I get the files to open as soon as the hyperlink is clicked?
Thanks in advance for your help!

You can't unless you publish your site to either MobileMe or a server. Your students will probably not be able to open the files that you have linked to anyway if you burn your site to a DVD, as if you have published your site to a folder, then all your files will be on your hard drive and not on a server, as is the case if you had published your site.
With all links to files, if you publish your site to a server, then all the relevant files are uploaded to your server and this is not the case if you publish to a local folder - this is where your files are and the links are created to where your documents are on your computer. If you want the files too, then you need to ensure that you burn those to a DVD.
Why not publish your site to the web as was intended. Publishing to a folder is only really meant as a way of checking out what your site looks like before publishing or for uploading purposes.

  • I can not publish my iweb site to moblie me

I had originally written and published a site with no problems.
However since then I tried to publish my changes and the iweb would show up as "not responding"
I tried other avenues to change my site which at first worked then failed so I deleted the site amd tried to start over thinking that may solve the issue.
It still will not publish merely stops reponding
Just to clarify - I found that I was able to make changes by publishing the iweb to a folder and then uploading the altered files to mobile me. This worked fine to start with but then I added some hyperlinks then uploaded the replacement html pages again - this caused the whole layout to change. This is the reason why I basically deleted the site.
I can still not publish my site now - same problem when I click the publish or publish all it freezes!

    Hello Frank,
The good thing of all your efforts is that you could determine the problem to iWeb.
    Frank Jacob wrote:
... come on apple get it together!
Well, there are at least 2 more well known issues that you didn't verify yet, at least I didn't see it in your post.
i get a portion of the files published only.
This is a clue to these 2 issues: a wrong filename or a problematic widget.
Go back in history to the point where you had your last successful 'Publish'
Have a good look at the filenames of the pages you created since then.
Is a very big chance there is a "wrong" character in the name or 2 spaces..
With a little bit of luck, when you do a Publish, you can see iWeb hanging on the name
of the problematic page (not always).
If it isn't the filename, try selectively remove widgets and do a Publish.
The moment Publish works, you've found the villain.
As this tip involves deleting things, make a backup of your domain file first.
Let me know if these tips don't apply to your situation.
I still have one radical solution at hand.
    Kind regards,
    Leo

  • New site not publishing. 2 separate MobileMe accounts, iweb sites involved

*April '09 I purchase Mobile Me for use to develop a website for a friend.* I use his email, but my credit card to make the purchase, and set up the website from iweb on my macbook.
    http://web.me.com/samaniegosinclair/hector/AbouttheArtist
*A month ago I purchase an iphone and buy mobileme for my own personal use (with same credit card from first mobileme).* I set it up on my macbook and sign into mobileme from system prefs with my new username and password. Then I open iweb because I want to create a website for my own use.
*The friends website draft loads in iweb. How is this possible if I am opening iweb with a totally different account?*
*I try to create a new site, my own site (so it shows up second in the index to the left), and then publish.* It's been over 30 minutes, but all text on left side index is still red (not blue which indicates published status, right?), but there's a filled-in white circle next to the title of my site (doesn't that mean it's finished uploading?)
*Then I decide to search for my site.* According to the help file it should be http://web.me.com/[YourMemberName] for the first site. Well this is my first site on this account, but not the first site I've created using iweb (hence why the friend's site shows up first?).
*So I type in http://web.me.com/margie.hatch (margie.hatch being my username) hit the return key and this shows up: http://web.me.com/margie.hatch/hector/AbouttheArtist.html. WHAT? How'd that happen?*
Where do I even start to sort this out and get my new site published? Must I terminate the first mobile me account?

The friends website draft loads in iweb. How is this possible if I am opening iWeb with a totally different account?
You're not opening iWeb with a toally different account. iWeb opens a file on your computer :
    ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites2
iWeb publishes to the MobileMe account you entered in the System Prefs.
The purchase of an iPhone has nothing to do with it.

  • Site not publishing changes

HI. I am using dreamhost, (but changing to godaddy).  All of my changes show up on my iweb on my computer, but they do not upload.

Where are you publishing your site to - MobileMe or an external host?
If an external host, how are you uploading - iWeb built in ftp or Cyberduck or Transmit?
If you are using iWeb built in ftp, then perhaps try using Cyberduck to upload instead after publishing to a local folder from iWeb.  It could be that not all the changed folders are being uploaded.

  • IWeb '09 upgrade not publishing site

With apologies - I have exhausted the forums looking for an answer that will work, and have found none.
I recently (I know I'm behind) upgraded to iLife '09. I just attempted to update my webpage using iWeb/MobileMe.
iWeb completely announces publication completion but the changes are not made when I visit the webpage through FireFox or Safari (or when I click view page now through iWeb).
What I have attempted thus far to fix the problem:
    - Clearing cache, cookies, and history.
    - Apples suggested resolution of discarding library preference files, iWeb folder, etc in the trash and republishing.
    - Upgraded all software.
    - Yes, I rebooted too.
Does anyone have any suggestions what-so-ever, because right now I want to throw my computer through the window?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions,
Go to File > Publish Entire Site
If that does not resolve the issue:
To ensure iWeb and your Site are functioning correctly publish your site to a local folder http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iWeb/3.0/en/24906.html
If the site looks good when you open up the folder version then we know the issue is not with iWeb or your website, but with the server you are publishing too.
Are you publishing to MobileMe or to an FTP server?
If you are publishing an FTP server you may wish to contact your host to have them remove the site manually so you can re-publish fresh.
If it is a MobileMe site you may with to contact MobileMe www.apple.com/support/mobileme.
    Hope that helps.

  • Adobe Muse Not publishing site as designed - elements all over the place.

Hi - I've been working on a landing page for a site and although the design is exactly as I wish - when I publish the site various elements are thrown all over the page.
I've attached 2 screenshots illustrating this, and a URL.   www.marchdental.ca/march-dental-welcome.html
Thank you for any help you can give me!

Hi David and Mr. Burro - many thanks for your replies - my apologies for not replying sooner!
In fact, David - you've nailed it.  I had inadvertently pinned some elements to the footer and so they would drag downward in larger browser windows.   My thanks to you for pointing this out!
    Cheers!

Just in-case anyone els runs into this, I figured it out... I was working from my hotel and apperantly the fire wall was not allowing anything to uplaod, but I wasn't getting an error message from iweb, it would say that everything was published succesfully even though it wasn't. Once I went home and used my connection eveything worked fine.

  • Hyperlink is not working after publishing my site!

I can fully activate my newly added page on my iweb site with no problem. I created a button and hyperlinked it to the newly created page. After I publish my site, the new button is NOT clickable. I created a new photo gallery page. I already have 1 photo page so when I clicked on that page, at the very top I am seeing a clickable link that will lead me to my newly created page. THIS IS NOT HOW I HAVE IT SET UP THOUGH! I have a button on my home page that if clicked, it will take you right to the new page! I tested it and it works! I go and publish my site and all the sudden it does NOT work!!! Anybody have a clue why this is?

Turn on DB logging and see what the syntax is that CR tries to send to the Server. You can also enable crlogger ( search for this and you'll find a KBA on how to enable or DB logging component )
First guess is the Date format is wrong, typically is the cause. try removing the date from the SQL and see if that works. Then try to add the selection formula in CR Designer and look at the SQL being generated
Can be specific because you did not mention what DB you are using.
