Upload + Download in Bid invitation

Hi,
What i understand from upload and download feature in SRM is that the purchaser can download the bid invitation & make changes & upload it back again.
When I download I can see all database fields like - BBP_PDS_HEADER-GUID,
BBP_PDS_PARTNER-PARTNER_GUID...etc for all entries quite confusing format.
Can anyone clarify how this upload and download works ?

Yes I agree that it is really confusing. But there is method in the madnesss. Essentially you have header lines and item lines and below that you have the header data and item data displayed in that order.
Please try to follow the header line and the header data. Similarly for item header and item data. You would be able to correlate then.

Hello,
I am currently working on the Bidding Engine in SRM 4.0
I would very much like to use the Download/Upload function in Bid Invitations, but for now I have the feeling it doesnt work.
I tested it by downloading a Bid Invitation and changing just one info like an item quantity or description. I put U (for Update) in the corresponding cell of the Change column. I also held the bid invitation in SRM before returning to it to upload the modified Excel-file.
When I upload the Excel file, I dont have any error messages, but no changes are done either.
Does anyone of you have an idea how I could make it work?

Hi,
Please do the following things.
Excel updown/download is very flexible functionality.
(BADI : BBP_PD_DOWNLOAD)
1. You can change the format (how the document should be downloaded, which fields : Control variants in BBPC_UP_DOWNLOAD table)
2. You can also upload file (your own format : implement parsing method)
3. You can add your own fields. (APPEND_UPLOAD_DATA)
We are working on one such scenario for Contract Upload.

Bid invitation upload option

Hi all,
We are working on SRM EBP bid invitation with SRM 5.0.
While creating the bid invitation we have an upload option through which we can upload from an excel sheet the products for which the bid invitation is to be sent at the item level.
Can anyone explain what is the exact functionality of this upload option?
Can anyone have the template of uploading in a excel sheet? We tried to download from the available bid invitation but we got all the info. including the GUIDs in the excel sheet.

How can we repair the output of the downloaded excel in bid invitations?

We are intrested in changing the current format of the downloaded file. We would like to remove the header lines and that only the item lines will be performed, we are also intrested of removing the columns: line category, Field Attribute, Change Key. The only columns we need to be performed in the file are: Document Number, Item Number, Item Description, amount, Delivery time.
Can anyone clarify how can this be done?

You can use BADI : BBP_PD_DOWNLOAD to chnage the format of the file.

Uploading of 'n' no of items in bid Invitation

Hi Gurus,
Can somebody tell me how to upload 'n' number of products in a single bid at the same time.
Is there a any tool or program to do so.

You can achieve this by uploading the items using a excel sheet. You need to make use of the option Upload/Download Bid invitation.

Upload SRM Bid Invitations

Hi,
We are trying to upload the bid invitations( downloaded and modified the price) in SRM 5.0 system, we are not able to upload the changes back into system.( Not getting any error messages, when uploaded into system)
Any documentation around uploading the SRM documents and any special configuration required for this.

Hi Sreedhar Vetcha,
this functionality is not quite comfortable, but it works. You need to use the indicator U (update), D (delete), A (add) to adjust the document per line.
Have a look into notes 790860, 734060 and 812884 as well 734936 how to use that feature.

I am using the cFolder application with SRM 5.5
Now when I create a collaboration (while creating a bid invitation) a cfolder link is created,By accessing this link you can upload your documents.

Bid Invitations (heirarchy)

   I am trying to load the Bid Invitation heirarchy from SRM5.0 to BW3.5, when i try loading the data, the load fails and give me an error message as below

Diagnosis
The InfoObject has not been entered as an external characteristic for

Hi Kirk,
So, you need to know the name of the char that you should include as external char for a hierarchy.
Try the following.
1. In SLG1 find the log related to the hierarchy upload. Look at the error details. Maybe you'll find there the name.
2. Look in your SRM system at the 0BBP_BIGURE herarchy. What are the other infoobjects you see there?
3. In SRM system execute RSA3 tcode in debug mode. Try to figure out what infoobjects names the system offers.

How to hide document fields in Bid Invitation

While creating Bid invitation I need to hide some fields e.g. Attachements, upload a document, description, button Search & Add. These fields are available under tab Header data -> Documents.
BADI 'BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI' works to hide Bid Invitation Basic data, but not for above.
Can anybody let me know how to hide above fields.

I dont think there is any BADI/screen variant for this requirement.But yes,if any of the 2 are available in the std,ITS template changes should be avoided.

Bid invitation output related

Hi guys,
I am able to send the bid invitation to the bidders.The output medium is email.It sends the bid invitation in .pdf format. (we have implemented a smartform)
Requirement is:can we send it in say word or excel format instead if .pdf?
Reason being,the bidder can download the form, enter required information in the word or excel doc and email it back.
Any solution/bright ideas?Please share your inputs.

Wow Masa! That was great.
Should have been clearer.We are implementing <u>surrogate bidding</u> functionality. The bidder will get the bid invitation by email.
Our requirement is here: if the bid invitation can be sent in word or excel format, the bidder can download and save the bid invitation on the local system, fill out the invitation and submit the bid via email back to the buyer.
Hence,the word/excel is needed so that the bidder can edit/modify it on the local system(there is no acrobat writer with the bidders:-))
Can you elaborate on 1 and 4,please?

Issue in navigating to cfolder from Bid Invitation in the specific instanc.

We have an issue in cfolder, when we navigate from Bid Invitation after creation of instance for cfolder through the link in "Document" view..
Instead of opening directly into the specific instance of Bid Invitation in the cfolder, system open ups in u201CHome Menuu201D in the "Competitive "Scenariou201D with all the List of Bid Invitation instance visible in the cfolder.
The user have to search the Bid Invitation Instance in cfolderr to upload the documents. Whereas we require that the system should navigate directly into the Bid Invitation Instance of cfolder.
Kindly help me in resolving the issue, have I missed some config. in the cfolder .

There are a couple of things you should change.
First of all, you do not need a Proxy Service with Email transport. A Proxy Service with email transport is created to receive an email from a SMTP server, which is why it is one way only (you wont be sending a message response to SMTP server for an email received from it).
Your requirement is to send out an email from OSB, you will only need a Business Service with email transport for that.
You can call this business service from your main proxy using a Publish Action and set the subject field by adding Transport Headers in the Publish Action.
Main Proxy-->Email BS
If however, you want to have a common proxy in between to set the subject(may be so you can have that logic at one place and call it from multiple proxy services?), then you can create a Proxy Service with LOCAL transport. In this proxy service invoke the Email Business Service using a Publish Action and set the subject field by adding transport header. You can invoke this local proxy from your main proxy.
Main Proxy-->Local Common Proxy-->Email BS

File Upload/Download Problem

I have a fileupload button. The attributes type is XSTRING, which i bound it with "data" property of download.
When i download this file with "download" element, it comes in a zip file and as XML files. Only the jpg files are downloaded correctly.
How can i solve this?

I am so sory for my very late answer.
If you want to upload/download files, you should have a node which includes attributes
(attribute names are just example ):
1) filename(type: for example afilename),
2)mimetype (type : string),
3) file(type : a data element with type 'RAWSTRING').
You must match your fileupload element's attributes with them:
"DATA" attribute --> file ,
"fileNAME" attribute--> filename,
"mimeTYPE" attritube -->mimetype.
When you want to download this file, you should put a filedownload element and match this element's attributes with the node's attributes which i described above.

Which SAP Version you are currently on ? What is the exact requirement ?
If i understand you right, Incase you want to add a button to the existing screen template then it will require standard code change and also you need to plan out how will you will code the logic to activate the button.
There is no BADI which can do this as this is not a SAP funtionality. You need to do a little bit of research on this to get the job done.
