Upload/Download page

Idiotic question, I know: How do I bring up the file screen on the right hand side of Dreamweaver 8 that allows me to upload/download files and changes from my existing website? I'm looking for the screen that has the "padlock" icon, and the "up/down" arrows.
Thanks to anyone for help.

That's the Files Window once you click the Expand button (double square icon on right hand side).
At least, it is in everything from DWCS3 and up. DW8 is pretty old, but should be the same.

Where's the upload / download page?

If I understand the lens correction technology correctly then every camera model will need a profile for every lens model.
This is massive undertaking. Using Canon as an example there must be around 20 digital SLR bodies and more than 150 different lenses (including third party manufacturers), so that's around 3000 profiles just for the Canon range.
It makes sense that users should be able to upload their generated profiles online - is this the plan?
Will there be a feeback system so these profiles be judged for quality?

Hi.. I've just created a profile for my Canon 28-300L (100 images all up)
It is installed at C:\Users\peter\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0 but neither LR3 nor ACR6.1 sees it.. ?? (yes Windows)
I also tried to uploade it to Adobe, and the email address that the creator puts in the email is [email protected] which Outlook says I can't send to, and I get a System Administrator "undeliverable".
Can someone please explain / help? Thanks.

Urgent : file upload / download functionality in oracle portal page

Hi friends
I am new to portal development and am working on oracle portal 9i rel2 . I need to know how to put the file upload and download functionality in any page. the functionality given in oracle portal user guide is not user friendly (i.e in the content area add item of type file" ) .... i need to now is their any way to achieve the simple , one button click upload download functionality ..like we do in yahoo mails etc.
any help will be highly appreciated.

Well, I do not know the exact location of the document, however you can find the document to do this in modplsql User Guide ..(File Upload/Download).
I am pasting some hint:

How do I upload a Pages document (resume) to a website?

How do I upload a Pages document, my resume, when it only gives the option to choose a file, no copy and paste option? And when I click choose file, pictures are the only thing that come up. Thank you for your help!

I have the same situation and is becoming a big problem, not just for uploading a resume on a job web site like Monster or Career Builders. It has become a bigger problem as you can't upload any other kind of document or file to any web site!!!! I have an iPad 4 Retina Display 64G that cost me $800 and what is the purpose of downloading the Pages App if you can't download anything! Everybody saying, you need to email, or you need to get iCab, etc.
I bought a Nexus 7 about a year before the iPad, for $249 and I can do everything with it with no problem and I bought later the iPad thinking that is a much more powerful tablet, dead WRORNG!!! iPad is only for Games, Netflix, Apple TV and to Keep you baby kids quiet.

Problems Uploading a Pages file in html format including pictures to web pa

I have problems uploading a Pages file in html format to a web page.
The files itself is downloaded but the images are not. How can I upload a page file in html including the pictures or illustrations?

I just bought a macbook as well as the iwork software. I am having a few problems. I am a student and when I try to print out documents (originally word documents) it puts them automatically into textedit instead of pages. Also, the pages get all screwed up, things are missing, etc. How do I make pages my default and do i need to export? import? or do something so that these documents show up perfectly in pages?
A second questions- When i try to print out slideshows in keynote (originally from powerpoint) the handouts print on the little edge of the paper horizontally rather than the long way. I am hoping these are easy adjustments.

After upgrade from DW8 to DWCS6, 2 problems: uploading/downloading (file structure?)

Hi,
I took a big leap and upgraded from DW8 to DWCS6. Also went from MAC G5 PPC to IMAC with Mavericks.
I transferred my site files over and set up a new site in DWCS6, pointing to the site files. No problem.
However, I have run across two problems since then.
1. If I open a file on the local site on the computer, it does not see the images folder. I can navigate to it and re-associate the image, but it is not automatic. I did nothing to change the structure of the local site, except move it as a whole from one computer to another. If I add an additional ../ to the SRC, then it comes up. If I then upload that page, the link still exists correctly. I don't understand the problem at all...please help!
2. When I want to upload a local file using the put command, I get an error message, something like it cannot create a certain folder in which the file exists. However, that file already exists on the remote end. I can drag the file over and then there is no problem.
I believe I can see that the problem is the same with both uploading and downloading, but can't quite figure out how to fix it. Any ideas? I figure this is probably common, or at least, I hope it is!

I will attach three images showing what you asked for. When I went back to check I noticed that the local files actually do seem to link up the images...it is only when I bring them down (get them) from the remote site that there is a problem...I'm embarrassed to say that I don't remember it being this way earlier, but since I have done nothing to 'heal it' it might have been....only thing I did do was piece by piece link them up on the pages on which I was working.
Anyway, here are the screenshots. If you need more, or if they are unclear, let me know.

Flash Player10 download page locks up and freezes can't get update.

Hello,
I have been trying for a long time to upgrade to Adobe Flash Player 10 with no success. Everytime I go to the download page it locks up and I can't click on the active x control to allow the download. I get this Dr. Watson error which says: Postmortem debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close. When I click send error report the screen freezes and then I have to do a ctrl, alt delete to get the task manager and get out of it from there. I have no idea why this keeps happening. This is the only webpage/site that does this. I am running windows xp and internet explorer 8. I can't play certain games on facebook, or view any videos on websites, or upload videos to my catster account which I am paying for etc that need the flash player10 update because I can't get the update! Any ideas???

Ok, Adobe support has looked into this issue and feels it might be an issue on some machines with DEP and are working to make sure it is no longer an issue.
In the meantime they suggest removing Adobe Download Manager from your add/remove programs and installing the software manually.

To download adobe Flash and Reader you need to start IE without add-on manager running to do this go to Start, Run, and put in "iexploer -extoff" without the quotes and run. Then go to adobe.com and click the usual buttons and when you get there and click install, you'll need to click the "Your download will start automatically, if it doesn't click here to download" message.

How is the upload/download file content area implemented

I have read that one content area4s purpose is to allow users to store documents. How is it implemented? I mean,
How can a user upload/download doc to a specific folder? Should this functionality be implemented by us or does
Oracle Portal provide any mechanism for doing this?

You can specify privileges on the folder based on users/groups. I am not sure I understand "I need to restrict its access just only to add element-"
Are you trying to ensure that people can upload docs, but not make any style changes ? Right now, if you can add a document
, then you can also delete it.

I have found that one way to do that upload is through 'add element' -->file item in the content area.
We have a group-defined structure and I need to restrict its access just only to add element--> Is it possible?If so, how?
What are the privileges I have to set to allow a user to add elements in a content area? At this moment we have:
* In the content area access tab : user X-->Administer
*iN THE page's content area, acces tab-->Manage
If this userX connects and tries to edit the content area--> add element, the item list shows no value it4s in empty. What
else steps should I follow.

Uploading changed pages AND images

Hi
this is probably possible, but cannot find a shortcut or
extension to do it. When I changed a web page, it frequently
involves changed an image or image property. The CNTRL/SHIFT U
saves and uploads the page, but does not include changed images?
The synchronise utility takes far too long on a large site to
upload changed files.
I am wondering if there is a shortcut, or way of adapting the
upload function to include ALL changed files on a webpage.
One long winded work around is to change the file display to
'modified' but images are in a separate directory to html files, so
that involves hunting through directories to uploaded modified
files.
Is there a way of displaying modified files, or a way of
modifiying code to that the put command includes images?

If your page is that graphically heavy, then you would have
other problems.
But, the good news is that if the timestamp on the local and
the remote
files are the same, then they are not uploaded. So, you are
not uploading
all of the images - only those that have been changed.

You can do that already, but not with quite that granularity.
From the
expanded site panel, use EDIT | Select Recently Modified
Files.
Unfortunately, your options are only by days.

Cannot download Pages in iCloud as Word or PDF

I have been uploading Pages documents to iCloud for about a year and a half. (And before that, I used the iWork beta to upload docs to the cloud.)
I believe I used to be able to download Pages docs as Word/PDF files after opening them on my iOS device (either iPad or iPhone).
Now, I keep getting the option to download only as Pages. I have found that if I open the document on my iPad, make a change, after a minute or so, I can open it in all three formats on my laptop.
Is there a way to avoid having to re-edit every single document on my iPad that I might want to download eventually from the laptop? This is so frustrating, as I use iCloud as a way to store my teaching documents, and they don't all need to be edited. I just want to have access across all my machines and via the web. I'd like to be able to use a computer at school that only has Word, but this is impossible as it stands, as most of the documents that I've uploaded since the summer are not available.
Interestingly, this appears to only be a problem starting with this school year (September 2012 or thereabouts), as documents that I've uploaded in the past do appear to be available in all three formats. Things that I have uploaded certainly in 2013 are available only as Pages downloads, unless I have already edited them on my iPad.
Help? Please?

You can do this from icloud.com (using a web browser on a Mac or PC). iCloud.com will give you the choice to download a Pages document as a Pages, PDF or Word document.

HOWEVER, while I can download a word file on icloud as a word file, one of my Pages files can only come back as a Pages file. Perhaps the advice above is no longer appropriate given the changes on iCloud.

Fired up my first Azure Website to host some virtual tours... ftp uploading and page loads super slow.

I upgraded my plan to BASIC... any idea why FTP upload are so slow? When I go to my pages, they are loading slowly too.

FTP uploading & downloading.

I creating my website using iweb, i was wonder is it possible to create a FTP access on my website for my clients to upload & download files?
Right now they are all using third party FTP client "free software like Cyberduck for Mac User & WinSCP for PC User" to access my FTP for uploading & download of files now.

You can do this from any server.
My hosting service, Host Excellence, allows me to create first level directory folders and call them what I want.
You can give your clients access to a folder and set privileges in the control panel.
The basic hosting plan allows you about six sites and a free domain name.
I don't know about password protecting individual folders but you can ask their tech support about this or plough your way through the manual.

MS Vista Ultimate 64 Bit.
When using my Linux PC to try and locate drivers for another PC, the website just keeps sending me in circles and never displays the drivers to download. Seems like in the past this has been a problem too. This occures with latest version of Firefox-37.0.1 and the current version of Chromium-37.0.2062.120 Built on Debian 7.6, running on Debian 7.8 (281580) (64-bit).
Navigate to hp.com
Select: Support | Download Drivers
Under 'Drivers and Downloads' tab
- enter product id: officejet pro 8500 A909a
- Select 'Go'
Expand the '+' that lists one link and select it.
None of the following links give a driver download!
- Troubleshooting
- How To
- Product Info.
- Users Guide
- Video Tutorials
- More Options
Maybe one of the options should be 'Driver Downloads'.

How to set up a Java Plug-in Download page in case of netscape?

hai all of you,
i have a problem regarding downloading plugin.
i am using <object > and <embed> tags to download the plugins inorder to run the applets. but it is taking long time to download the plugin form sun.com.
so what i have done is, i downloaded the plugin.exe file and .cab file and put it in my tomcat server mainted by other party.(y application if for internet purpose only.)
i refered to http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.2/docs/intranet.html. there it is mentioned that, to download the plugin.
for I.E i can able to change the code.
but for NetScape it's a little bit confusing.
i have downloaded the binary file in my own directory.
here he is asking to set up a java plugin-in download page.
instead of this "plugin-install.html" page what page i should create and what should be the code in this page if i have to write on my own. please let me know if anybody know about it.

I have successfuly done this.
Change the converted html as per the instructions to point to another page.
Here is an example of the new html page you need to create:

You should then get to the web page or application and this page will not apppear again.

If you put the file j2re-1_3_1-win.exe on a web server somewhere then you will have to prefix the file with
http://yourwebserverdirectory/

Some more developments ... the issue appears to be browser-specific. I can't see the download controls at the moment in either IE 8 (I'll get your message) or Safari for Windows 5.0.5 (I'll just get the blank box). But I can see the download controls in Firefox 4 and Chrome (whatever version I have of that).
So it might be worth installing Firefox and seeing if you can get the downloads via that:
