Upload file link missing

I say this was addressed earlier, but it is not updated in the documentation? Will we have to use feeds to upload content to our track list now? I am a new iTunes U user and after reading the documentation it still says there is an upload file manager? Can we get to that anymore?
Thanks!

I can't speak for Duncan/Apple, but, generally speaking, any site created after January 2009 does not allow you to host content on Apple servers (i.e., upload content).
I remember the "olden days" when people would post the opposite kind of question in the forums…"Why doesn't Apple let us host our content on our servers?"…those were the days when you had to upload to Apple, even if you had really good reasons not to want to do so. Not that you don't have good reasons to want to upload, mind…every site is different. I was just reminiscing.

  • How to change "Display column content" on a uploaded file link?

    Hi,
    I based my portal form on a table with a field of type BLOB. I used this to upload any type of file. I have no problem in uploading my file, when I query the information, a link comes up with the words "Display column content". I can click on that link to see the content of my file. But is there a way to change the wording "Display column content"?

  • Remove link for uploaded files in application

    Hi all,
    I've been following the tutorial on how to upload and download files in application at http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32472_01/doc/appdev.300/b32469/up_dn_files.htm. I have now created my own table which stores the uploaded files and can download them successfully. I would now like to add the ability to delete these files within the application and was wondering what the best way of doing this was?
    I would like to add another column to the displayed report with a 'Remove file' link for each listed file, which when clicked would delete the file from the table. I've already tried using a similar method to the one used to upload the files (instead of uploading the file, the called procedure deletes it from the table using the specified ID), but this causes the application to display a blank page when the link is clicked, which I dont want (but does delete the file).
    I would appreciate any suggestions.

    Hi Jo,
    If I'm interpreting this correctly, the Word file downloads correctly, but when you open it in Pages, the link(s) which your instructor has embedded in the Word file are not correctly translated into Pages.
    If the link shows the actual address, you should be able to copy that and paste it into the location bar in Safari, press return, and get to the website that way.
    An alternate route might be to download one of the open source Office applications, OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice, or NeoOffice. These are written to more closely emulate the behaviours of MS Word than Pages, and may provide better support for links embedded in Word files.

  • {"success":false,"msg":"package file parameter missing"} while trying to upload a package via python

    Hello,
    I try to write a command line script for administrating CQ5 via command line not using curl or wget. When I try to upload a package I get the following error message: {"success":false,"msg":"package file parameter missing"} So what parameter (sure "file") is missing or how do I have to "put it in"?
    To be more precise:
    When using curl, everything works fine, so I looked at the header and body curl sends and rebuilt both via python - without success. And curl does not send a "file" parameter by the way, or I didn't see it.

    For RMA Line. I am assuming you have already created a 'RETURN' type transaction Type, and tied that to the AR transaction type. if yes, then just follow the COPY UTILITY to copy the original line into a RMA line using the Copy Utility as below. Let me know if that was helpful.

  • Upload link missing?

    Hi,
    We are new to iTunes U and have just started building are site. I have created a course page and now ready to upload content. But how? There is noe "Uload files" link in the toolbox?
    JMK

    As always, Duncan is the ultimate authority on iTunes U…so don't treat this post as gospel. Now, with that, and all other standard disclaimers in play…and while not necessarily absolute, let's say there are now two iTunes U worlds…for chuckles, let's call them "old school" and "new school" iTunes U respectively. Which school are you in?…well, if your site got into iTunes U before January 2009, you're old school. After January 2009, you're new school. The difference between old and new schools?…in new school iTunes U, you can only use feed groups (that is, RSS feed groups) and smart feeds…in old school iTunes U, you have the option of uploading content to Apple. That is likely why you don't see the option…you're new school.
    As time goes by, I suspect Apple is going to suggest that even we, the old-schoolers, consider moving from Apple-hosted sites to feed-group sites. I've already begun doing that for UIC, actually. I had the option of linking our Echo 360 to feed groups or Apple-hosted content. I immediately opted for feed groups. There are many advantages to feed groups—the greatest (in my opinion) is that one feed can serve multiple delivery systems (iTunes U, Blackboard, etc.).

  • Uploading problem - links / files uploading that are not in indd file

    One article in a folio is giving us problems that none of the other articles are. It's taking ages to upload, and appears to be uploading links that are NOT in the indd file.
    The INDD file contains nothing fancy, several MSOs, and one object using image sequence. ANy ideas why it could be uploading files not used in the indd file?

    You’re not the first to get tripped up by it.

  • File links go missing files in bins

    Premiere Pro CS6. I'm working on a fairly complex project with lots and lots of still images and dynamic links to AE CS6. Never had this happen before, but while I'm working on a project with lots of bins and sub-bins, I'll go looking for a file and while the bins are all still there, there are no files in them.
    My workaround has been to close PPro and reopen the file and voila! they're there. Nothing changes on the timeline, but I can't access the links to move a file to the timeline.
    Bug or feature??? I'd say bug, because it certainly doesn't act as a feature to me!
    I'd send a bug report, but they don't really seem to help. I've still got the problem of having to render AE CS6 dynamic links inside PPro, which didn't exist in CS5.5 and have turned in several bug reports, with no response from Adobe. sigh Takes up valuable render time.
    The work around is not acceptable as it takes up even more time!

    I'll go looking for a file and while the bins are all still there, there are no files in them.
    "My guess is you have something typed into the search field.  Clear that out."
    Nope. Nothing in the search box. It's like the database for the bins just disappears randomly. Then when i close the program and reopen it, the file links are back. It's almost like the bins directory(?) loses communications with Premiere (it hasn't happened in AE...yet) so I'm wondering if there's a .dll or some sort of subroutine that directs the bin database.
    "Can you be more specific?  Every version of PP that has had Dynamic Link has often required the "link" to be rendered in PP for real time playback.  This will depend on your hardware and the complexity of the comp."
    Yes. When I dynamically linked an AE file to a PPro project in versions CS5 and CS5.5 (and further back as well, when it worked at all!), the render line above the linked project was yellow, showing as not needing a render. In CS6, the behavior is completely different. It shows as needing to render (red). My graphics card is an approved nVidia Quadro, so that's not an issue. In CS6, it's broken. Period. It has disrupted my workflow as I use many compositions from AE in PPro and now have to render a project.
    Thanks for the help...or at least looking at the issues. But no resolution here yet.

  • Delete an uploaded file (in custom table) from a report

    Hi,
    I have a report of uploaded files (the files are saved in my own table, not in APEX_APPLICATION_FILES) - I'd like to add a delete link to each file in my report so that the user can delete a particular file.
    How do I go about doing this?
    Thanks.

    Melissa,
    It is now working. You missed couple of things:
    1. javascript in the header
    2. you were pointing to the page 1 and your process was on the page 2
    3. you passed the value to a non existing item on the page 3
    4. the request which would fire the delete process was triggered by a wrong request

  • Issues in displaying upload document link in publisher taskflow

    Hi,
    We are trying to do a feasibility analysis on the upload document feature of publisher taskflow, but are facing issues.
    The Attach : File link is not getting displayed along with the publisher taskflow. The Attach: Link option alone is displayed.
    Below are the steps i did to try out.
    1. Created a new webcenter Portal application using JDEV 11.1.1.6
    2. Created a new JSF file under /pages.
    3. Dragged and dropped a publisher taskflow from Resource Pallete.
    4. Set the username parameter to #{securityContext.userName}
    5. Created an UCM connection in Application resources.
    6. Deployed the ear to server.
    7. Made sure the UCM connection is active in the EAR. (verified through Enterprise Manager)
    8. To make sure the connection is proper, used a document presenter taskflow to display images from UCM in the same page
    On running the application the publisher taskflow and the document presenter with images are getting displayed on the page. But the Attach: File is missing. Only Attach: Link option is available.
    Am i missing any other configuration here?
    Requesting help is solving this issue

    Had to update adf-config.xml to have an try for <doclibC:spaces-repository> as below
    <doclibC:spaces-repository
    spacesRoot=<Name of the Root folder configured in the UCM connection for Spaces in the server>
    adminUserName=<Administrator username mention in the UCM connection for Spaces in the server>
    applicationName=<Name of the application EAR>
    />
    This fix enabled the Attach : File link in the publisher taskflow

    Hello,
    I have quetions, about uploading files, see I need to creat a form that will be used by other people to upload information that later will be presented as downloads in the portal...
    so I created a form in my provider with a file (binary) field, and it mimes to my table in the DB, to the field "Archivo", then what I do is use a omniportlet and using HTML format I present like a link using the info in the field Archivo
    and when I clic on it it takes me to this link
    http://desarrollo06:7778/pls/portal/38173.PDF
    but the file I uploaded does not appear
    can aniyone help me to solve this?
    thanks in advances for the suggestions and your time ^_^

    The method you used to setup upload of file seems fine. I suppose you would have used a blob type to save the file in your db table.
    basically, you can develop a report offering a link calling perhaps a procedure which would query from the table and download the file.
    In that procedure, you would look for the file (vblob) and the mime_type from that table using a sql-query. then use them to setup the mime type for the http protocol, and download the file as follows.
    owa_util.mime_header(mime_type);
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.Download_File(vblob);
    hope that helps!
