Upload Flat file to Infocube with key figures of type FLOAT

Dear Experts,
I need your help in the following issue : I want to upload a flat file(csv) to an infocube. Two of the key figures are of type FLOAT. In the flat file the amount are in the format number with 4 decimals. eg 0.0445. When I upload the data, although I have NO errors, the key figures show value 0. (BW system is 3.5).
How should I declare these numbers in the excel file?

Problem solved. I just uploaded the file first to a ODS and then to the infocube and everything worked ok.

Flat file load changes in key figures

Hello,
I have a weird issue when i try to load some data into a cube(Flat File) with 1900 records only 1668 records gets loaded into the cube and also when i try to validate it the numbers doesnt match.Can you guys suggest me if i am missing anything here.Do i have to double check anything.Please let me know.Any help greatly appreciated.

nothing problem for your cube model.
there are some records with same charectertic values. you can validate it, calculate sum of 1 KF in cube and calculate sum of 1 KF colomn. you can compare both values.
both values should match.
assume...flat file data
customer amount
1000 10
1001 20
1002 30
1000 10.
cube will have
customer amount
1000 20
1001 20
1002 30

Problem with extraction of flat file to infocube

We are workin on SAP SCM APO release 7 that has the componente BW release 7. and we're trying to load data from a flat file to infocube like we used to do in release 5.
The problem is that we get the message that no data is available everytime we run the DTP. The transfer structure is:
1. source system: flat file
2. data source: a flat file according with our CSV file
3. transformation between the data source and the infocube
4. infocube
do i need to create an infosource even i'm loading from a flat file? With the release 5 of SAP SCM APO i don't need to create an infosource. It works fine from the data source to the infocube.
We don't fine any notes related so I'm asking if you have experienced this before with the release 7.0 and how do you solve it.

Hi,
In BI DTP loads data directly from datasource to infocube. No need to create an infosource. But make sure that you have loaded data till your datasource i.e. upto PSA. For that you need an infopackage to load data from flatfile to PSA. Then from PSA, you can load data to cube by your DTP.
You have to create a flatfile datasource and give path to the CSV file. I guess you have already done this. Now right click on your datasource and click on create infopackage to create an infopackage. here also check the path and start the infopackage. It will load data till your PSA. If this loading is successful you have data in your PSA. Right click on your datasource and click on manage. Thus you can check your data in PSA. Now you need transformation between your datasource and cube which you already have. Now run your DTP and your data will be loaded from PSA.

How to upload flat file in planning book

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to upload flat file(e.g xls, csv) in planning book against key figures(e.g forecast) in some characteristics level(e.g brand, sku etc)?
Is it possible to have screen shots or path to follow?

Yes you can upload the excel files or flat files in APO planning area. APO planning area is made of characteristics and key figures. All the characteristic information is mainly available in Infoobject. You can upload these excel files in infobojects which will than reflect in planning book. Please find the detail information regarding APO BW building blocks.

Please go through the section 2. Setting up APO BW which will tell you all the details steps.
Please remember to activate the infoobject once you load the data.

Problem in upload flat file into bw-bps using web browser

I have follwed the steps as per the how to guide to upload flat file,its seems to be fine but when try to upload by running the URL its giving error "Value of variable Data Slice Global ( ZFIE0ALL ) cannot be determined " and warning "Errors occurred when executing planning function TUPLOAD(EXIT FOR UPLOAD DATA)/T0000000(WEB UPLOAD".
Since i am new to BW/BPS , also let me know, how test it , when i run file_upload URL directly its giving follwing error.

     An exception with the type CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL occurred, but was neither      handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
When i run page1 url and if i file_load url, then its prompt me to see upload function, path for flat file. IINM, DataLoad can be used for free (Basic version). If you do not want to use this tool, you could use WebADI instead of ADI (as you are on R12).

BI IP - Upload flat file - "requested resource not found" when typing URL

Hi,
we tried to implement the "upload flat file" functionality (blog Marc Bernard). We followed the different steps and included the bug fixes as well. When we want to launch the URL in an internet explorer session we get message "requested resource not found".
Hereby the URL used:

when we use URL http://sapscmbid.vpkgrp.int:50100/ we see the screens of the portal so I presume this server and port is accurate (we use the same link for the planning modeler and this works fine).
The SICF service zrsplf_file_upload has been imported and has status active. Should we check other things as well?

Report painter- Characteristic can not be maintained with key figures

We have added new characteristic ZZFIELD1 in CCSS report sructure for reporting and selected it in gen. selection list. While running report painter report, it gives an error that ZZFIELD1 cannot be combined with key figures.
Any help to figure out what step is missing will be highly appreciated.
This is a PS report painter report using PS database profile in the selection of parameters for the report

The fields we have added is ZZFIELD1 ZZFIELD2 in the PRPS table. And the key figures used in the report is;
AWKG - variance/accrual costs (basic key figure) with characteristic version 0, value type 32, fiscal year and period
SWKG - cost (basic key figure) with characteristic version 0, value type 4, fiscal year and period.
SMEG - quantity (basic key figure) with characteristic version 0, value type 4, fiscal year and period.

Error GR410: characteristic cannot be combined with key figures

My problem is in Report Painter.
I need to add selection by trading partner (or by vendor) in report 6OBU-001. For this Iu2018ve modified reporting table RWCOOM, in order to make available characteristic RASSC in the library 6O2.
Iu2019ve added Trading partner in General selection of my own report (copy of 6OBU-001), but RP gives an error message: u201CCharacteristic RASSC cannot be combined with key figures. Check the report definition: the key figures used must be compatible with characteristic RASSC. For examples of useful combinations of characteristics and key figures, see the SAP standard reports.u201D
Any opinions are truly appreciated.

Report Painter - Characteristic cannot be combined with key figures

I have added a new field (ZZABTEI) to the report structure CCSS and using that field as a characteristic in the report. But when I execute the report, it is giving the error "Characteristic ZZABTEI cannot be combined with key figures". Can anyone help me to solve this issue.

There no code for this. I had to add the new field to CCSS structure. Then there were some configuration to be done. Then this message is got when the report in the report painter is executed. The details of this error message is as follows :
Characteristic ZZABTEI cannot be combined with key figures
Message no. GR410
Diagnosis
Characteristic ZZABTEI is being used in a report with a key figure that does not match this characteristic.
System Response
The system cancels generation.
Procedure
Check the report definition: the key figures used must be compatible with characteristic ZZABTEI. For examples of useful combinations of characteristics and key figures, see the SAP standard reports.
Technical explanation: The Report Writer table assigned to the report is defined as a view with multiple database tables (somewhat similar to Report Writer table CCSS) and a key figure used in the report refers to a database table which does not contain characteristic ZZABTEI.
Example 1 for table CCSS: If the 'cost' or 'quantity' key figures are used in a report (referring to tables COSP and COSS), you cannot use the 'Statistical key figure' (only occurs in table COSR) characteristic in the rows. On the contrary, using the 'Cost element' (tables COSP and COSS) characteristic is not permitted for the 'Statistical quantity' (table COSR) key figure.
Example 2 for table CCSS: If a report only displays line item data (key figures IE... or PE...), you cannot use the 'PERBL' characteristic, because it is only valid for summary data. You have to use the 'PERIO' characteristic for line item data.

Query on 0IC_C03 with key figures 0valstckqty and 0valstckval

Hello Gurus,
I want to make a query on 0IC_C03 with key figures 0valstckqty and 0valstckval for a single month eg October 2011. I have 0plant in rows. The problem is that I just see the key figures for planst which have movements in October 2011.
I dont want choose all months in global filter to get key figures for all plants.
How can I solve this problem?

Jesper-
You're looking at a "Transactional" info cube. That means that the query you create will ONLY provide data for a selected period in which data exists. Plants with no movements will not appear. That's how it's supposed to work.
Now... you can create a hidden selection in your columns. For example:
First column (hidden)... 0valstckqty + 0valstckval. No other restrictions
Second column (visible) 0valstckqty restricted to the date range of interest
Third column (visible) 0valstckval restricted to the date range of interest
be sure to NOT suppress Zero rows.
Plants that never had a transaction will, however, not appear at all. The query will also take a long time to execute because it's extracting all data.
The best solution is to explain to your user that it's working the way it's supposed to.. if a plant has no values then there were no transactions.

Filler can be use when we want to skip database table column or we want to put null in database table column
but if we have 10 column in flat file and we want to load 1,2,5,7 number column from flat file
then I think filler will not work
If yes then plz let me know.

There is a documented way of managing a delta but it mostly boils down to how you model the process. SAP says you can add a ROcancel field ( or something similar to it) in the transaction data within the files
that way when you update the data into the cubes, it would be managed - whether it has to be added or over written,
therefore the best way to manage this would be to make some changes i the flat file-
are the flat files being generated by some program? maybe you can add in further to check the updated records -
