Upload License file to CSC-SSM usling CLI

Hi,
The CSC-SSM license has ben expired into my ASA 5520 having CSC-SSM module..I got the license. But as GUI is not functioning so only option left with CLI.
Can someone guide me the steps for uploading a new license usling CLI into CSC-SSM !!!!

The Activation/License pane lets you configure activation codes for the following two components of the CSC SSM:
â¢ Base License
â¢ Plus License
You can use ASDM to configure CSC licenses only once each for the two licenses. Renewed license activation codes are downloaded automatically with scheduled software updates. Links to the licensing status page and the CSC UI home page appear at the bottom of this window. The serial number for the assigned license is filled in automatically

I did some research and found out that,
You must ensure that the license files are present in /etc/license folder for Prime UOM, Prime USM, and Prime Collaboration, and in the<Installation directory>/license folder
My question is how do I upload the license file into these directories? Collaboration is installed on VMware.

Very late into the reply. But I am sure someone will run into this issue again -
In windows cmd prompt, navigate to c:\mbs.
Then type saplicense.exe -install then follow the prompt.
NOTE: If you get the following error -
C:\MBS>saplicense.exe -install
*** SAPLICENSE (Release 46D) ERROR ***
    ERROR:   Can not set DbSl trace function
    DETAILS: DbSlControl(DBSL_CMD_IMP_FUNS_SET) failed with return code 20
    RC-INFO: error loading dynamic db-library - check environment for:
             dbms_type = <db-type> (e.g. ora)
             DIR_LIBRARY = <path to db-dll> (e.g. /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run)
Type"C:\MBS>dbenv.cmd", once it is done. simply retype
saplicense.exe -install then follow the prompt.

you have to log on your CUCM by SSH ,to delete this file. find the below commands , please:-
file list license * (Lists all uploaded license files)
file delete license * (deletes all uploaded license files)
Y (yes to confirm deletion)
Note: That is for CUCM v 6 , other you have to get open a case from Cisco TAC . As you select the new licenses file , you Cucm will ignore the other old file. There is no problem to worry about.

60 Day License File For IPS

Hi,
if i downloaded a 60 Day License file for AIP SSM , then if i want to remove it after say 30 days and reiuse it for the remaining 30 days some time later , is this possible ?

No it's not possible at all. Evolution license can be deployed only once.

Overrun nodes license CSC-SSM-10 (100 nodes) ASA5520

Hi all,
I got an ASA5520 with a CSC-SSM-10 (100 nodes) in use. There are about 200 host behind.
What happen, when the node license will be overrun. E.g. all 200 hosts are connecting through the firewall/contentfilter
at the same time?

You can issue "sh csc node-count" on the ASA CLI.

because of system failure i reinstalled CSC-SSM 6.1.1587.0 version. All was working. Before the reinstallation the license info was this:

How to Upload License Key File of MiniSap to SAP System ?

I have received the license key for MiniSap. I have downloaded the license key file to my local system. Please tell me how to upload this file to the SAP system. I am using Windows XP (SP2) and the MiniSap edition is 6.10 WA1.
I have to tried to directly enter the license key through transaction code Slicense but got the error "Incorrect Parameter Specified". I also tried to install through OS level but even could not do so. I have ordered key 5 times, none works on either SAP level or the OS level.
Somebody told me to upload the file, Please Guide me how to upload license key file to the SAP System.

The part number is the following:
ASA-CSCX-YP-ZY
where X is your CSC model, Y is the number of seats of the license and Z is the number of years.
For instance, if you need a 2 year plus license for a CSC10 with 250 seats, the part number would be ASA-CSC10-250P-2Y

Problems with license upgrade on AIP-SSM

Hi guys:
I have a problem with my AIP-SSM, recently I download the latest license and I need to install in my AIP but when I try to do this I receive this error:
"errSystemError-idsPackageMgr: digital signature of the update file was not valid, use CCO to replace corrupted file"
So I download the license again, because maybe was corrupted, but I receive the same error at the time I want to install it.
Does anybody knows what this error means?

It sounds like you are attempting to install a .lic license-key file via the Update Sensor section (which is used for software upgrades/updates instead). If you are trying to install a .lic license-key file, you can do that from IDM or IME's Configuration > Sensor Management > Licensing section. Ensure the Update From: option is set to License File, then click the Browse Local… button and locate/select the .lic license-key file on your local client machine. Finally, click the Update License button to upload and install the license-key file onto the sensor.
If you try to install a .lic license-key file via the Update Sensor section, then you will encounter the error message you noted.

Delete CER license files

I'm having issues with CER 8.x license hope some can help here, customer want to upgrade from CER 2.x on MCS server to 8.5 on UCS server. So I upgraded CER from 2.x to 7.1 to 8.5 on an interim server no license issues at all. When I did DRS back up from Interim server and restored on UCS server I started to have license issues. I called Tac engr who was helping from licensing team and explained what I was doing so she was keep issueing different license files none of them worked. I just want to delete all the license files I have installed so far and start over and see that fixes it. I thought there may be an option under CLI like we have in CUCM but there in no option to delete those lic files . Please can you help me to delete those lice files or do I need to open a TAC case to get root access.

This should be possible since CER 7.x that has implemented the fix for "CSCsk37388 Need a way to delete the licenses"
To do so:1. View / Download / Delete license files uploaded onto the system, using the File Management Utility (found under Tools)
2. After deletion, restart CER service. The License Manager shows the updated license info (i.e. decremented user license count in case of a user license, or evaluation mode in case of a server license).

Hi,
CON-SU1-AS2A10K9 contract if for ASA+IPS bundle. If AIP-SSM-10 ws purchased as a spare the contract would be CON-SU1-ASIP10K9.
I am not sure whether or not this Cisco Service for IPS contract can be used to cover just the AIP-SSM-10 if it was purchased as part of a Bundle instead of a Spare.
I would recommend that you check with your Cisco reseller or Cisco Sales Representative.

ASA 5520 : IP address for CSC SSM

Hi All,
I have an ASA 5520 with CSC SSM. I have base and plus license and want to activate it. T he IP address and gateway have to be configured on the CSC SSM. I have configured IP addresses for the INSIDE,OUTSIDE,DMZ and MGMT. The outside is a public IP address. Now for the CSC SSM what range should i give?
There is an ISA server on the DMZ where all user IP's get PATed and on ASA this gets NATed on the ASA. Direct access to the internet exists for the servers (bypassing proxy).
My basic doubt is about the IP address and gateway that the CSC SSM should have and is it related ot the management interface ip address?

put your CSC ip address as outside interface subnet.because CSC needs automatic updates from internet.and you can able to manage CSC from remote itself.
for EX
your outside ip is 10.0.0.1/24,make CSC IP As 10.0.0.2/24,Gateway 10.0.0.1

Cisco CSC SSM to Active directory integration issue

Hi,
I have configured ASA CSC SSM module for AD integration for user based access control. The domain controller Agent has been installed in AD server. But the Agent is not able to communicate to CSC module. There are errors getting generated in AD and CSC.
There are no network layer issues between AD server and CSC. All the frewalls have been turned off. I suspect some configuration changes to be done on AD or with the Agent installation file. I have followed the configuration steps recommended by Cisco in configuring AD server and CSC module. I have attached the Log files.
Please suggest solution for this issue. Thank you.

Below are the suggestions from TAC engineer, which rectified issue in my case. Hope this helps your scenario.
Ø Verify the following
Ø 1. The client machines should be part of the windows domain
Ø
Ø 2. File Sharing should be enabled on the client machine
Ø
Ø 3."Remote Registry" Service should be enabled
Ø
Ø 4. On the windows firewall, select "Windows Management Instrumentation
Ø
Ø (WMI)" as exception program to allow in bound WMI calls.
Ø
Ø Also, make sure the "File and Printer Sharing" is part of the exception list.
Ø
Ø 5. The client is able to ping the Agent and the Domain Controllers.

Customer Impact from New Licensing Procedures
Cisco Unified Communications Manager on VMware on Cisco UCS B-Series Blade Servers uses a different licensing model than Cisco Unified Communications Manager on an MCS server. The MAC address of the NIC card is no longer used to associate the license to the server.
Instead, the license gets associated to a license MAC, which is a 12 digit HEX value created by hashing the following parameters that you configure on the server:
•Time zone
•NTP server 1 (or "none")
•NIC speed (or "auto")
•Hostname
•IP Address (or "dhcp")
•IP Mask (or "dhcp")
•Gateway Address (or "dhcp")
•Primary DNS (or "dhcp")
•SMTP server (or "none")
•Certificate Information (Organization, Unit, Location, State, Country)
This hash of these fields is called the LICENSE MAC
Note : Once there is a change in any of the parameters that creates the License MAC, it will
give you 30 day grace period to generate a new license file for the CM based on new license
MAC.
