Upload material using idoc in lsmw

hi ,
i m trying to upload material using idoc inbound processing in lsmw. but whnever i m giving partner name as lsmw & port name as lsmw (even i tried with different name also ). it gives error like port does not exits.

Use IDOCs in LSMW

when iam using idocs in lsmw, for custom defined message type iam getting an error saying that 'Event code for the specified message type could not be determined. Create partner definition for the specified message type manually'.
How to solve this. How and where to create partner definition manually.

Creation of material using BAPI in LSMW without using material no.

Hi SAP Gurus,
I have a requirement of creating materials using the BAPI in LSMW.
I tried to create a material using the BAPI (Business Object - BUS1001006 , and method - SAVEDATA) which should be created internally, but it is asking the material number to be given externally and my configuration is setup to create the material number internally.
Even I looked into the material type which is associated with the number range and everything looks good.
Is there any solution to create the material by using BAPI in LSMW without passing the material no. externally ?

Hi,
it looks like it's not possible to call this BAPI wihtout material number. Here is a quote from BAPI documentation.
When creating material master data, you must transfer the material
number, the material type, and the industry sector to the method. You
must also enter a material description and its language.

Picking not done for a serialized material using Idoc type SHPCON/DELVRY03

Hi All,
I am using Idoc of type SHPCON/DELVRY03 to do the picking for an outbound delivery.
The value 'PIC' is populated in the qualifier of segment E1EDL18 . In order to update the batch number of the material in a delivery the qualifier of segment E1EDL19 is populated with value 'BAS' .
To update the serial numbers for a serialized material in an outbound deliverfy , BDC for transaction vl02n is used. Also the segment E1EDL24 is populated with material no. POSNR and other details , then segment E1EDL11 is having the value of serial no. Similarly for other serial number there is one more segement E1EDL24 with same material no. but E1EDL11 with other serial number.
The issue is that after the Idoc is successfully processed , picking quantity is updated only for one serial number for a serialized material of the outbound delivery. The picking quantity for other serial number is not updated . Initially the delivered quantity for the serialized material was 2 but after processing the Idoc the picking qunatity updated is 1 ( for one serial number only ).
Please provide any pointers on this.

The firs thing I would do is verify the config. Make sure the message type of the created IDocs matches the message type to which the filter is applied in the distribution model. If everything looks ok, place break-points at the following locations:
In FM MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE, on the call PERFORM DIST_MODEL_READ_FOR_MESTYP. This subroutine reads the filters from the distribution model. Verify the values in internal table RECEIVERS_AND_FILTERS are correct.
In FM MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE, in FORM IDOC_SELECTION_AND_SERVICES, on the call to FM IDOC_DATA_APPLY_FILTER_VALUES. This function should return the filtered results. IDOC_DATA contains the data segments of your IDoc and CONDITION_BLOCKS contains the filter.
When you run BD21, you should hit these break-points.

Update the "remark" field in general data of a BP (using IDOC in LSMW)

I have to create and udpate BP with comments in the general data. I have no problem to manage this field in creation mode. I only use the segment "E101BAPIAD_REM" from the "CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M02" Idoc basic type. I fill the following fields: "LANGU, LANGU_ISO, ADR_NOTES".
However in update mode I don't success to update the value for the field "REMARK". I use the second segment "E101BAPIAD_REX" and i fill only field "ADR_NOTES" with value "X" and "UPDATEFLAG" with value "U".
I tried several value and several cases but i failed each time. If anybody has already managed this data with IDOC I would be very interesting...

thank you for your answer but you speak about the field "AddressGUID" of E101BUS_EI_ADDRESSREMARK but I haven't this field at this level. This field is linked to the segment "E101BUS_EI_BUPA_ADDRESS_KEY", isnt'it ?
Effectively i have certainly a problem with the Address GUID. I have to test it because it doesn't work with only UPDATEFLAG at 'X' and CURRENT_TASK too.

I have to update in the SAP Tables, for a particular material_Number the material_group_num has to be updated

From the business Users i will get a XL Sheet with all the data, the xl sheet contains

Based on the master Number i have to update only the master group fields in SAP tables
I need a data service job to do this, i know what option need to be given in idocs to update a particular field, i need the whole flow of the job

LSMW, to upload material sales long text , MM02

I have not been able to upload long the long text of the material master record related to view Sales text (see tcode MM02). The upload should use the tcode LSMW, below is the steps that I used to create my LSMW codes:
Step 1: Maintain Object attributes

I create two structures
MAT_LONGTEXT (Material Long text)

I tried to to use IDoc in lsmw.In 13th step i got an error "Partner profile not generated for message type ........".In Inbound Idoc processing what to do?pls give the steps to proceed

This can be obtained from the initial LSMW screen Menu: Settings  Idoc Inbound Processing
Specify the following:
File/tRFC port
Partner Type
Partner Number
These can be maintained by clicking on the respective buttons on the right.
Click on the Activate IDoc Inbound Processing button after entering all the
details above.

Inbound Idoc With LSMW

Hi All
We are creating transactions for legacy data migration with LSMW using inbound Idoc. We are able to do the same successfully. As per requirement for each transaction some word and Pdf files have to be attached. Is there any way to attach documents with Idoc through LSMW?

Hi Avineesh,
What you can do is use two LSMW.
First one to upload transaction data and get the transaction number of all the uploaded transactions using IDOC.
Secondly use LSMW with BDC to attach the files to that specific transaction.
Or
In option to above approach you can use LSMW with BDC to upload all the transaction along with attachment.

Error in uploading material

hi everybody
I am getting an error when uploading material using LSMW
'Record end indicator not set for structure BMMH1. Structure BMMH1 has been extended. Enter values in the new fields prior to the next release upgrade'
Actually i have already created these materials on 2 different distribution channels, now when I am uploading with the third distribution channel, i am getting this error
Can anybody help me please how to overcome this error?

Hi Using IDOCs with LSM Workbench????

I wanted to use IDOCs as one of the methods with the LSM Workbench. I am going to load the data from flat file to a transaction in CRM. I am just curious to know that how do I go forward with it. The first step of LSM Workbench is asking Message Type, Basic Type, Enhancement and structure assignment for EDIDC40. I have used other methods such as Direct input and Batch input. I have not used IDOCs with LSMW. Is it possible that you can give me the steps what we have to follow in order to set up the IDOCs and then use it with LSMW.
I will really appreciate if you can give me the steps or give a link which shows steps of LSMW with IDOCs..

lsmw->settings->idoc inbound processing.
then u have to choose the basic type message type all those stuffs.if u have any enhacement u can use it or else leave it blank.

Post material master idoc with class and characteristic values

Hi,
I need to post the class and characterstic values of material while posting the material using idoc of basic type matmas05 . Can anyone suggest me the fields and segment details to fill the class, class type and characteristic values in matmas05.
Note : the class and characteristic values are already created in the system, my purpose is to assign them to material while creating. so please give me the field and segment details in idoc basic type matmas05.

I try to do the samething. I see the fields E1CUVAL : CU: Characteristic valuation in the structure of MATMAS05 but when I run the IDOC, these fields never appear even they exist for the material.

Upload Material master with long text using LSMW

i want ot upload material master data via MM01 using LSMW in following views: basic data 1 ,2, purchasing, purchase order text, plant data 1,2.
i have to upload long text in purchase order text with length more then 132 char. (approx 700 char long text). and i have text file in which long text is maintained in a single row. then how can i do it without formating text file or anyother possible solution.
please help.
