Upload Muse site to BC

I currently own a Creative Cloud membership and I have been using Muse for a while now.
The problem is: if I want to create an e-commerce site right now with Muse. So I am trying to make a quick demo to show it to my client, but I just can't.
If I publish my site using Muse it takes me to a "limited" control panel with no e-commerce button available (which is very uncool btw). If you have to push the site live anyway to get your free web basic bc site that comes with creative cloud, why can't we preview all of BC's features? I hope I am missing something or doing something wrong.
So I made a new adobe account logged in to BC, all buttons available for trial, but I'm clueless on how to bring my Muse template/site to this new BC account.
Any helpful links/info is appreciated.

Hi Seruhio
Sites published with Muse are on a webBasics plan and that is the reason why you see limited features, however you can contact BC support and ask to change the site plan from webBasics to webCommerce, the plan that includes e-commerce so you can test it out.
To submit a case and request the plan upgrade click on Manage while on Muse and with the project opened, then on the opening page that takes you into the admin console of your site published on BC, click on the top right corner button "Help and Support", from there click on "Submit a case".
OR as a quick workaround, you may follow this :
1. When you have published your first BC site, a free partner portal has been generated for you. As a Creative Cloud user, you do not need it, as all your BC sites are listed in Creative Cloud.
Your free partner portal can be reached using www.businesscatalyst.com/partnerportal and your AdobeID & password
( make sure to use the adobe id you used to purchase Creative cloud)
2. Once you are logged in create new site > use option start from scratch > Choose plan to create an WebCommerce site. ( NOTE : The site you create cannot be included in free sites, hence from partner portal you can also select under the Clients tab the site you want to update, click on it and select "Upgrade Site", choose the payyment method and plan and that should be all. (plans listed here :  http://www.businesscatalyst.com/pricing )
FYI, This site you create under free parter portal you get with Creative Coud will show up when you will choose to publish from Muse in the list of the available sites.
3. Now you may define/add ecommerce option like products, catalogs etc  to the site's admin/manage area and then call the modules to show the products/catalogs in site you creating is muse.  check this tutorial it may help :  http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-advanced-cms-integration/
You'll be able to use the Object > insert HTML... and paste the code/modules for catalogs and products . like shown here : http://prntscr.com/u1vnu
I hope the information helps

  • How to add a user when Muse site is uploaded without Business Catalyst?

    Hello,
I have uploaded a Muse site for my client on her own ftp server. But how can I add her as a "inbrowser editor", so that she can manage the site when needed? Or is it only possible to add a user when I upload the site on the Business Catalyst host?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The June 2014 update to Muse enables In-Browser Editing for Muse sites hosted with third-party (non-Adobe) providers.

  • Uploading Html site designed in Adobe Muse to Sharepoint

    Hi There,
How can I upload a website that I have designed in other software to Sharepoint 365. I want to upload the site and have it function within sharepoint. I have done this in older versions of Sharepoint but I am struggling to find a solution for Sharepoint
    365.
    Any support is greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

For SharePoint 2013, yes you could absolutely use this tool to create your HTML (this post is in the 2010 forum, so just making sure).  In SP 2013 you can use the new Design Manager to upload HTML which then gets converted to a .NET Master Page.
So long as Muse turns out valid HTML, you should not have an issue.

  • Muse site uploaded to Business catalyst, where are the css files?

    Hello.
I've uploaded a site created in Muse to my Business Catalyst account. I want to access the css files but in Business catalyst Admin/Site Manager there is no File Manager for the CSS files. How do I make any change? I know I can make changes in the page editor but I need the CSS files as well. Similarly, how do I replace an image, I can't find an images folder either? Do all of these changes have to be done in the Muse program itself?
Muse is new to me so thank you for any help.
    Grant

    Hi Grant,
Because for now CSS and HTML file editing is incompatible with Muse (e.g. republishing your site will potentially overwrite all the changes), we've decided to hide the file manager for Muse users.
However, there is a way to re-enable it. In order to enable site management for your user, please log into your site, and click on "My Details" (upper right). In the My details page, please check the option "Enable online content editing (incompatible with Muse)", and enter the password to confirm. A new entry (Site Manager) will appear in your menu.

  • How to Fix Uploading a Muse site to Filezilla, images / parts missing

    Hello,
I have recently finished designing a site in Muse.  I exported the Muse site as HTML previous to FTPing.  I used Filezilla to FTP my site/files and Network Solutions is who is hosting the site.  After FTPing the site it is now live but many parts are missing: my background master image, individual images, buttons, etc.  The site shows a blank page but my buttons are live and functional.
I found a forum that states to change permissions and have done that (set all of the folder files to 755).  The only other thing I could think of is that the PSD files that Muse allows you to place into your working Muse document does not translate well and that may be the issue for them not showing up in the live site.  The frustrating thing is that all of my previews in Muse and browsers previous to FTPing have been successful.
My last idea was to re-point my domain name to Business Catalyst to host my site.  I really do not want to go this route but will if absolutley necessary.  I tested the site using the Business Catalyst FTP service and it came up well.  Unfortunately, it adds 'businesscatalyst' to the end of your URL.  And, I'm not sure exactly how long re-pointing takes as I'm pretty new to the web game.  I'm always trying to learn though.
Please pass on any thoughts or tips.  I am grateful in advance!

If you have more how to questions on Business Catalyst, you can get them answered here, http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/ via BC Chat support. In the products you will have to select Business Catalyst.
As far as your web site is concerned, have you already tried the built in FTP upload feature from the File menu? I checked your web site again and it gave me a server permission error.

  • Uploading slider panel to Muse site

How do I upload a saved slider to a muse site that I am creating. I have it saved however it can only save as an html and when I go to place this it is greyed out. What am I doing wrong and how do I insert this banner/slider please.
    Thank you

    In Edge
    - File > Publish Settings
    - Tick Animate eployment Package (you should not need to change any other settings). However take note of the Target Directory .\publish\animate_package. This package (.oam) will be saved to this directory (relative to the current open Edge project).
    - Click Publish to the lower left.
    In Muse
    - Open Muse project and navigate to respect page.
    - File > Place and at the Import dialog navigate to target directory noted above (.\publish\animate_package) and select the xxxxx.oam file.
    - Click once on the Muse page to add it.
It should be added to the page now: verify go to the Preview tab to view. Also select the Assets and/or Layers and you should see it added to the Muse project.

'Home' and 'Das Grill-Center' work just finde, but 'Speisekarte', 'Kontakt' and 'Impressum' don't work. When I click on the link it always says:
    "Not Found
The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server."
    the sites name:

I have noticed that if I search online for the direct link http://www.grill-center-bruehl.de/dasgrillcenter.html it comes up (that is the part that works). The direct link http://www.grill-center-bruehl.de/speisekarte.html doesn't work. but the html site is definately uploaded

  • How do I add a blog to my Muse site?

Is there a widget or something I can throw onto a page and have people post comments?
Or more importantly, can I just allow my customer to post "News" through In-Browser editing? (Do I just throw a text block on a page and title it, "News" and let them add to it)?
What if they wanted to add photos to their "News" or "Blog" page?

You can absolutely insert a blog into your Adobe Muse site. Most instructions for doing this involve creating a WordPress hosted blog, then embedding that into a Muse page with 'Insert HTML', which creates an iframe with your blog inside.
While embedding an existing blog with an iframe within a Muse page works, it isolates the blog's content from being considered in the main site's SEO, since it's pages are not actually on the site's server.
The simplest way, and it's very simple, is to install a WordPress, or any other, blog into a folder in your site named 'blog'. Pick a theme that enables you to mimic your main as closely as you care to. Then create a link in your main site's menu to link to the blog folder. Here's an example...
    http://creativeillusions.biz
You can also use a blank WordPress theme with no header or footer at all - only the blog posts and sidebar(for categories and recent posts, etc.). Use that theme with a locally installed WordPress blog, them embed that blog in an iframe, and you'd have a very functional blog that can perfectly fit your Muse site's theme, since it's header and footer will actually be the ones on your main site. Plus, since it's actually hosted along with your Muse site's files, it's available for the site's SEO.
For SEO purposes, you'll need to add your blog folder manually to your sitemap.xml. This is a bit of a hassle, since you'll need to add the blog's entry into your sitemap.xml each time that you re-upload your site, since that actually writes a new version of the sitemap.xml over the existing one. Still, it's a very simple way to add a blog to your Muse site.

  • Can Someone PLEASE Tell Me Why My Muse Site Will Not Work Upon HTML Export?

    Sorry for the long title!
I've had a few threads going regarding troubles with my Muse site. These issues have been on-going, and once I was no longer able to upload to Fetch—and had to export to html via FileZilla—it just seems the problems continue to snowball.
I have a web site. I will disclose the URL here now: www.jamescdarling.com
When this site was html-based (its original form), using my yahoo small business web host and Fetch, it worked like a charm. All Flash files functioned at 100%, embedded videos/players all played great, etc. Then, I switched over to Muse 1.) because I was excited by the potential, and 2.) I wanted to re-design my site, anyway.
So, I created my site in Muse, and uploaded it all into Fetch. I soon found that some of my Flash files and videos were not working. This was the case for a long time. I finally gave up after trying everything and asking lots of questions here.
Just recently, I set out to fix these issues as I was afraid this half-assed site would appear to make me look unprofessional and like I had no idea how to use Flash. I had some problems with the new Muse Update (had to ditch Fetch and use "export with html" using FileZlilla). Changes made to my Muse file were not taking... and each time I viewed my updated site, the updates were not there—it still looked like the previous incarnation of the site. However, with some help from some of the good folks here, I was able to make my site not only update, but work nearly perfectly—or so I thought!
I just clicked on my personal web site URL link in my LinkedIn page, and I see the old-looking site! The bookmark I have of my site is near-perfect—only the videos still will not load. However, it would seem that my site only functions as well as it does on MY computer only—that is, URL's I have been sending out probably are of the old non-functioning site? The changes I make are not being recognized.
If you will, click on my above URL (in bold)..... If you click on "Resume", you should see light blue rules separating each section. But I bet you will see heavier gray bars with headers inside them. Also, if you view my Flash work, go to the "Epiphone Casino Mini Site".... the "Finshes" and "Features" pages' interactive elements will not function as they should (never mind the video page!)—but they work perfectly when accessing my site from my bookmark on my computer.
Can someone please tell me how to make my site update web-wide, and how to get my Flash files to function?
    Thanks!!!

  • Help need to switch Muse site to BC on a allready hosted plan

Hi,  i also posted on BC forum...
I have a client that was in a hurry to have his emails accounts before the entire website.
So i went on and bought the email marketing plan (cos he will also need to do email campains) an pointed his domain everything is working fine, at this moment he has his accounts the domain is live.
The site would be just a small 7-10 pages not to complicated.
Has a graphic designer (who has venture into Business catalyst cos it had all the solutions i needed, well that's what the promotional videos said anyway) I made a site in Muse.
First i did a temporary page thats says "comming soon", and then i made the entire site, all the design and menu but with blank pages cos the client didnt have all the content yet (and still dont have). I uploaded that site to a sub directory so he could see the evolution.
    He approved the design, yay!
At the end of the process, he told me he needed to have full control with the editor. (style, images, bulleted list, need to put downloadable document like pdf etc.) i told him that he could only modify what was allready there with the Muse in Browser editing (that he saw when i made the pitch using another site) he was impress with the way it worked.
so i told him i would have to remake "template".
I thought of using a BC template, and modify the looks to adapt to my client image, Of course, use a responsive theme so he could make the change at one place only. (cos in Muse you need to make the changes on the 3 layouts).
Now, i created a new temporary site using one of the new responsive template available.
How can i import that new site onto his live domain? In other words, how can a switch from a theme made in Muse, to a BC template?
cant i just delete everything in the root folder, and upload the entire new site via ftp?
please help me find the solution. i am a bit in a panic here
hope you could understand my lousy English.
    Sincerely,
    i.d.

This would need to be transparent for m'y client...

    Thanks for additional details.
Unfortunately we cannot change site template of a live site in BC , but as a workaround Create a site from BC using the template you wish to use then publish the site from Muse to the site created from BC and transfer the contents stored from live site to trial site. Ater final transition is done , you can delete the already paid site and make live the new trial site which includes new site template.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • How can i turn a photoshop file into a website with knowing code? can i upload Muse or DreamWeaver?

How can i turn a photoshop file into a website with knowing code? can i upload Muse or DreamWeaver?
I created a few images (pages for a site) on photoshop and want to turn them into HTML code for a website- Can i Just upload the file into one of these programs and make a file with the correct code imediatly?
I was reading about using EDGE Reform but i did not understand if i can create the code with it, in the end it says it still needs to be sent to website developer after?

You need to look at Dreamweaver as a code editor. You need to learn to create good, clean HTML code with style sheets to make websites with Dreamweaver.
There are tutorials that will take you from a layered .PSD file to HTML. Here's a good one:
    http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/site-builds/from-psd-to-html-building-a-set-of-website-d esigns-step-by-step/
Adobe's Muse is a semi-WYSIWYG website layout creator for small websites (1-5 pages). But there is no way you can go from a .PDS file to Muse, you have to start the site in Muse.
I have seen a few Muse sites and they're OK, but there is some code that Muse creates that is kind of odd. If you want a good, clean website that will work for you or your business, Dreamweaver is the best choice. Alternatively, you could hire a pro.
