Upload of ESS BP in EP6 Sp19

Hi Experts,
I have download BP for ESS sda extension
How do i upload in EP6 SP19 system?
My backend is ECC6 APAB (not installed Java component)
When i try to upload in support it dosent reconize the file

1. Create a number range for SAP Archive Link :
IMG>Basis Components>Basis Services>SAP Archive Link>Basic Settings>Maintain number ranges.
Tcode: OANR
Create range 01 from 0000000001 to 9999999999 without the external number flag.
2. Document type HRICOLFOTO must exist with document class JPG.

3. Document type HRICOLFOTO must be linked to object type PREL and IT0002.

ConfigurationException while migrating from EP5 SP20 to EP6 SP19

Hi,
   I'm migrating content from EP5 SP6 to EP6 SP19 and am following the document "Migration of SAP Enterprise Portal 5.0 to NetWeaver '04". All support platform plugins checks passed.
However when i start migration: i get the message

After application of Java SP20 I have the same error:
"Error occurred while initially starting application sap.com/tcmobileadminea:Application sap.com/tcmobileadminea cannot be started. Reason: it has hard reference to resource tc_SL_SDM_Client with type library, which is not active on the server.#
On our J2EE we are not able to find the "tc_SL_SDM_Client " service or library and the property files seems to be ok.
Before the application of Java SP20 the J2EE was working fine.
DO you know in which SCA/SDA the tc_SL_SDM_Client is supposed to be ?

Problems with sapjco.jar and the EP6 SP19

Hi,

We have recently upgraded the portal server from EP6 SP9 to EP6 SP19.
Some of the applications that use Jco connections to interact with the backend, are giving exceptions while executing. These applications were properly executing before the upgrade.
Now, Is there any problem with the sapjco JAR file version??? How to resolve this problem???

Hi Brahmachaitanya ,
download the latest version of sapjco.jar, librfc32.dll,sapjcorfc.dll from service market place which is compatable to your OS.
then place the two dll files under windows/system32 folder
even if it doesnt work,
in the createclient() method give user id and password, language,host name in capital letter(upper case)
and try it

Excel File Upload on ESS

Hi All,
I have the requirement to upload an excel file on ESS. To achieve this, I have created a module pool program, which allows me to select the path of file that is present on my desktop and read it for further processing. Using the FM GUI_UPLOAD, I am able to successfuly upload a text file (in .txt format) but not an Excel file (.xls format). If I try uploading xls file, it converts the data into junk characters ##### etc.
Is there any function module which will allow me to read an excel file in this module pool program ; and allow me to read its contents??
P.S. The module pool program succesfully reads and excel file in R/3, but does not work on ESS...Why so? And what may be the workaround for this???

I think the easiest approach is to create a webdynpro for this.
There you can use a file upload element

Photo Upload on ESS

Hi All,
We are in process of Implementing ESS for one of our clients. While implementing we also want to display/change photo's of employees through ESS.
I have seen some standard Iviews to upload photo's directly in ESS but they require a special dimension of 100 X 130 and is not allowing me to upload photo. Is this the standard way to upload photo's on ESS. OR
We have to first upload photos on R/3 system connected to ESS and then only we can use it on ESS?
Please suggest?

Hi Rastogi Prashant,
Photo in the ESS can be uploaded by using the portal.Login in to portal as an employee and go to "change own data" link, then there is an option to upload photo from your system(like uploading photo to Orkut album)... That's all...
You need not want to store the photo in R/3.. You can straight away upload the photo in the Portal.

I want to migrate my EP5 Application into EP6 of Netweaver Componet, Can any one guide me How To Migrater/Upload Roles in EP6 of Netweaver. First of All I want to Know How To Take the Roles Content whcich is in EP5 and in whcih format how to take. In ep5:
1. go to Portal Administration* -> Export
2. select a role
3. choose an export destination on the server (default is under EP5Data/.../Data/Export).
4. press Export
In the server of the ep5 system:
1. put all the generated files in a folder, and zip it.
In ep6:
1. go to System Administration -> Transport -> Import
2. choose "client"
3. upload the zip you create and Press Import
4. look under Migrated Content in the portal content for the result.
Whereever that doesn't work, the way is to recreate the iView in ep6 (your developments from par, built-in iViews like KM navigation etc. from templates), and recreate the entire role/workset/page hierarchy.

Photo upload on ESS & R3

I am trying to upload employee photos on R3 & ESS; after doing all hte settings in OANR, OAC2,OAC3, & the content repository up & running; I still get 401 authorisation error.
I tried using OA_UPLOAD_AND_LINK prog; this keeps giving me file extension error even though the file is in jpg format.

The Error 401 Unauthorized in accessing via HTTP, gererally happens when
you try to access an External Content Server and the content Server
doesn't validate the Signature.
This may be of two reason, either the Content server doesn't recieve
the signature or the Certificate corresponding to that signature is not
active. If so, please do relavent Customizing and try it again.
Please also maintain the user and password again defined in the
transaction sicf for the service /sap/bc/contentserver again to
ensure the user and password are correct. (the note 685521 for
details.)
Transaction OAHT is used to send certificate to the external Content
server and You can use Transaction CSADMIN to administer the SAP Content
Server.

Error in ESS WebDynpro ON EP6.0 SP9

Hello All,
I'm implemeting ESS Using WebDynpro, I Deployed all related ESS components and it's sucessfully deployed..,
I checked all my JCo Connections its working fine all connections having the GREEN COLORED.., and SLD is also working sucessfully working, but when i check the iview which is in content provided by SAP when i see the preview of the Overview or any iview Related to ESS it's giving "SERVICE CANNOT BE REACHED" and the error we faced in the j2ee "Causedby:om.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdException:"
i have done a entry in my service file also .. everything is okay it seems but when i'm tryning to check the iview its giving the "SERVICE CANNOT BE REACHED"
and the Error "webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/pcui_gp~xssutils/XssMenu call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available."
Could plz help me on this issue

WDA and EP6 - SP19

I am aware that SAP Note 903662 details prequisites for integrating WDA into an EP6 portal - namely applying the stylesheet. My question is - is this still the case? Is there any work around? The company I am currently working for has a company branded portal so to use WDA I must use the portal stylesheet.
Surely someone uses EP6 with a NW2004s ABAP stack??!!

Your question is not quite clear. Do you want to use WDA without integrating into portal? If yes, it is possible and it is also possible to have stylesheet for WDA without integrating into Portal.

Send upload document from BSP to EP6-KM

Hi everybody,
i upload document from a BSP and i want send this document to KM-CM. I don't want use Web folder to do this, i can't create a java code with Javadocs, I want (i must) use WebDAV protocol.
I find documents for Content Server (transaction, customizing ... ContentServer.dll and it's works) but nothing about KM Content Manager and i must use KM not CS.
Can somebody help me ?

Accessing SQL Server jar for EP6 SP19/EP7 SP11

Hi,
I have application that accesses SQL Server and used to run in old portals (SP under 13) but doesn't run under new portals.
This is the driver I use:
com.sap.portals.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
I tried to include the following jars under the 'lib' folder - didn't help
P9base.jar, P9sqlserver.jar, P9util.jar
I get "[SAP_Portals][SQLServer JDBC Driver]This driver is locked for use with embedded applications".
What jar/driver do I need to use in order to run applications that access SQL server in the new portals.
p.s
I don't want to define connection in VA. I want to use DIRECT connection.

We are not using .pfx format for digital signature. For this reason we download Form-16’s from SAP & get it signed by using 3rd party tool. Now we want the form 16 to upload in ESS. Please let me know the process to upload Form 16 to ESS.

ESS Personal Information not working

Dear All,
Here we have ECC 6 and EP7 SP10, we have uploaded BP ESS 1.0 SP 7.
For ESS Personal Information workset, iViews for Address, Bank Information, Family Information and Personal Data is showing a page in which it is given steps which are
1 Overview 2 Edit 3 Review and Save 4 Confirmation
Previous Step Exit
And also in SPRO setting for Personal information under ESS head is missing
Employee Self-Service-->Service-Specific Settings --> Personal Data , there is no personal Data link.
Kindly help me what needs to be done for Displaying iViews of Personal information and getting the link for Personal Data in SPRO under Employee Self Service.

I am able to see Own Data in SPRO.
Issue is that while running Personal Information --> Address iView, the page which is being shown is like this

and no data is being Displayed.
The same is the case for other iViews of Personal Information like Bank Details and Family Details.
But for Personal Data iView it is giving this error
"failed to create or init instance of model 'com.sap.xss.hr.per.in.pdata.model.HRXSS_PER_P0002_IN' in scope APPLICATION_SCOPE with instanceId 'null'".
kindly tell me what needs to be done to resolve this issue.
