Upload of video's to Ipod

Hi there all,
I'm using an Ipod Video 60Gb, and uploading video's.
When I'm watching these videos I can see that my ipod have put them in foldes for exemple: podcast in the folder "podcast" and every other video in the folder "video".
I also have a folder "music videos".
Now I want to put my music videos overthere but how do I do that.
When I upload my music videos they all come in my folder "videos".
This are music video's that I converted from dvd.
Hope someone can help me.

We are evaluating the use of iPod touch devices to record best practice videos on our manufacturing floor and to post to an internal Moodle web site. How can you upload a video from the iPod touch to a site other than YouTube? The Moodle upload interface is expecting a file selection dialog box like windows or OSX. I do not want to have to go through an intermediary step of messing with a pc.
    Thanks!

It should be around 7 and a half gigs. In iTunes, across the bottom there should be a bar that show how much storage is being used and by what. (music, movies, apps, etc.) To make music take up less room, you can check the box to make it convert the music to 128kbps AAC. This lowers the quality, but with most earbuds and speakers, you can't even tell the difference.
The iPod touch has parental controls built in. You'll find them in Settings. I think they only work for enabling/disabling Safari, Mail, YouTube, and App Store. Here's an app that does more: http://www.mobicip.com/online_safety/ipod_touch

  • Uploading movies/videos onto my iPod Touch

    Hey guys,
I was wondering if when they say Videos this is different from movies. I wanted to download Office Space from the iTunes Store but from what I have tried I don't think I can load these onto my Touch. I figured any apple format video would work (.mp4) for example, but when tried to upload a free vid I got from the store it wouldn't work. Then I tired an .mp4 vid I had on my computer and that wouldn't work either.
Does the Touch support these formats? What kind of videos can I upload?
Also can I use a different browser on my Touch that would allow me to download Flash? Or is that pretty much out of the question?
Also I have the 2nd Gen. iPod Touch
    Thanks in advance.

Those options aren't required for video purchased from the iTunes Store. They are useful for video acquired from other sources. The only thing I've ever had to use them for on video content from the iTunes Store are weirdly encoded video podcasts. I currently have four different video capable iPods (5th gen iPod, 3rd gen Nano and both 1st and 2nd gen Touch) and have never had to use those conversion options for purchased contents.
Using those options really isn't going to address whatever the underlying problem is and can take a really long time. Bottom line is that stuff should transfer. If it doesn't, finding the problem may safe a lot of time in the end.
    Best of luck.

  • Problem with uploading video to my ipod nano 5g

I tried to upload video on my iPod though itunes, but when i am doing it, itunes is not responding for a while and then shows an error: ""The iPod "iPod Artur" cannot be synced. The required folder cannot be found". What should i do to upload video on my ipod?
P.S. The video file is converted in mp4 format.

I tried to do everything what was written in that link, but it didn't worked. Also i tried to connect my Ipod to my friends computer, and there everything was ok, so i suppose that problem is in my laptop, but not in Ipod. I have Acer Aspire 3680 laptop with Windows XP on it. Is it possible that my computer is to old to work with Ipod, or may be problem is in OS (my friends PC is running windows 7 OS). I tried to sync the podcast and pictures, and it didn't worked either. The only thing that i can sync is the music. I will be very thankful if you will help me to solve this problem!

  • Can i upload a 12 min. video to my ipod video ?

can i upload a 12 min. video to my ipod video ?

As a matter of interest you can load videos of any length up to your iPods hard drive capacity.
I have several 1.5 - 2 hour films which play perfectly.
How long your battery will last if you play them is, of course, a different matter.

  • Uploading/converting videos to Ipod

Everytime i upload a video to itunes, and then convert it to my Ipod there is never any Audio, Why is this?????? or how can i restore the Audio to it????

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.
See:iPod plays video but not audio.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.
Videora is one, and there are others.

Search the iPod video forum for other recommendations (this is the forum for older iPods), but beware of spammers trying to sell you their own product.

  • Videos disappears from iPod!

I'm using a third party encoder for videos for my iPod, and I'm able to view them perfectly, the problem is:
When I update my videos (add/change/remove) on the iPod the ones that I didn't even touch will disappear and I'm only able to see them on iTunes, the new/edited ones show up correctly.
What am I doing wrong? Or what is the problem?
Thank you very much in advance.

I've got the same thing. I've posted a message, but no one answered. After sometime, I've found a work-around solution. I've got a 3rd part software (Ipod2PC) to move the movies or/and Mp3's to the hard disk.
What I did is, I moved the movies back to my hard disk (Oh yah, you need free space!) then, delete the ones on my Ipod using iTunes, then upload them back to the Ipod!
I am like you, waiting for someone to give me a final easy solution for this problem.

  • Is it possible to download a 1minute video to my ipod??

I have the 3rd gen. Ipod Nano, and there is a 1 minute video that I can play via mediaplayer that I would love to save on my ipod. I can't figure out if it's possible to upload this video to itunes and then download it to my ipod. Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how do I do this?
    Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply. I'm kinda new to this stuff, how would one Convert this file, and convert it to what? (I thought itunes automatically converted the files to what it needed when you uploaded it). But I guess my biggest problem is how to upload the file, and if I do, where do I put it in Itunes (probably under music videos?? Or is this only for videos you buy from itunes).
    Help!

Thank you for your reply . The folder I am synching to is located on my desktop . I have tried to synch to the same folder from the my documents folder and from the my pictures folder . I read / watched the info you suggested . Is it possible that my problem is itunes does not have 'write' access to the folder I am synching to ? How would I enable write access to the folder . I do not see the option in the folder properties menu . I noticed the folder is identified as read only in the properties menu . also i have noticed that the ipod photo cache folder created in the photos folder contains multiple folders , some of which contain ithmb files and a photo database file .

All of the songs had artwork associated with them (on my computer) from the very beginning. When I uploaded them the first time, shouldn't the artwork have gone with them? When you upload album art, is there a way to find it on the iPod, other than playing the songs? In other words, does it reside in a directory that I can view? If there is, I can at least confirm whether the artwork ever made it to the iPod. It just seems weird that it shows up in iTunes but not on my 'pod.
I know that I had the setting orginally set at "automatic" and then at some point I changed it to manual, and then back to automatice, which is how it is set now. But again, I prepared my database of songs on my computer (including artwork) before I ever uploaded them to my virgin iPod, so I thought it would have gone with them from the start.

  • I uploaded a video, iTunes put it in Movies, not in Music Videos.  How do I move it?, I uploaded a video, iTunes put it in Movies, not in Music Videos.  How do I move it?

I uploaded a video, iTunes put it in Movies, not in Music Videos.  How do I move it?, I uploaded a video, iTunes put it in Movies, not in Music Videos.  How do I move it?

I wanted to do the opposite. Put a music video in movies. The original purchase had the option greyed out but I had gone to the advanced menu to create an iphone/ipod version. Then both were showing on my iphone. I was able to change the new version to movie  and now I have it both places in itunes but only one version on my iphone. I had to do this because my iphone kept re-downloading it as though it were a new item. We'll see if this fixes that issue but I thought it was strange that I could not change the original copy. The altered copy has a lower bit rate but it looks and sounds the same to me.

  • Can't play video on my ipod 5gen?

Ok so yesterday I finally bought an apple ipod 5 gen 30G and was expecting to come home and simply upload videos and downloaded movies to it the same way as with songs. only problem is, It took me a while to figuire out how exactly to import My Fan made Movies into itunes, I used Videora iPod Converter. I converted my Fan made movies. It showed up and played fine in itunes but when I updated my ipod and tried to play the video (on my ipod) It simply shows a thumbnail and plays the audio!!
Now I got this ipod to play both audio & video but it's really starting to **** me off, thats where GT comes in.
Is there anyway to play fan made movies (created in windows movie maker) and downloaded full lengh movies (not from the itunes store but from torrents) on my ipod 5 gen????
And is it supossed to take a really long time to convert say a 50MB file? Im really confused.
    Thanks-
    MRBee
Edit: I just tried to sync the video to my ipod again and it said; ipod cannot play this file........WHAT?
      Windows XP

"when I updated my ipod and tried to play the video (on my ipod) It simply shows a thumbnail and plays the audio"
On your iPod go to "Videos / Video Settings".
Then select "TV Out" and either set it to "off" or "ask".
Also, make sure you are accessing the video through the videos menu. If you have a video mixed in an audio playlist and you access it through that, you also won't be able to see the video.
Btw, I would recommend something other than Videora. Try Streamclip.
