Upload or ftp mdb file
I have an application that takes a daily mdb file and
displays on the web. The only issue I have is the best way to get
that mdb file to the server daily. I am planning on getting a new
mdb file every afternoon around 5p. I want this automated and would
like to either ftp it or write a screen that allows someone to
upload it. Any ideas? I would rather not have to upload it through
the screen every evening.
thanks
thank you for that. I am running into more and more people
asking for web applications that include behind the scenes
conversions(like xls to mdb or mysql), or mdb files that change
daily. Anyone out there scheduling these processes within
coldfusion? I am curious to know people are handling this.
thanks

Can anyone confirm that "upload to ftp host" with "only modified files" works as designed?
It seems to take a really long time to verify existing files on the host. I have found it more productive to ignore this function and use a dedicated ftp client to upload/update Muse-created sites.
I have found that "upload to FTP host" often uploads the entire site, seemingly ignoring the "only modified files" setting. This is not invariably the case, but seems to happen more than it should.

my iWeb image names are incompatible with FTP servers and must be renamed but I can't find the images in iWeb. I can upload to a desktop file and change them there but then I would need to download them to a new site in iWeb to publish them.
What's the answer?
ThanksMany thanks to responded to my question and sorry not to get back sooner.
Yes, I discovered by this unfortunate experience that the names of photos are a serious issue if the site is to ever go to an FTP server. Apple should discuss this carefully in their "manual".
One more question: I uploaded the website to a folder on my desktop. When I open it, unlike the photos in iWeb, there are folders for each page which have all the photos in them. I went through each folder and changed the names to be FTP compatible. I'm using iWeb SEO Tool which allows one to upload from this local folder to an FTP server but having trouble.
Is this because there is an imbedment in iWeb that uses the old photo names to link to the actual photos and it can't find them because of the name changes?
Thanks again for your help ...

Can't upload file - FTP error - file activity incomplete
I'm totally new to Dreamweaver and websites - trying to pick
up and run with a voluntary organisation's website. I have the
public_html folder on my PC. I have set up the 'New Site' within
Dreamweaver; made changes to the index.htm and have tried numerous
ways of 'putting file to the remote site'.
I get the error message as above - FTP error - file activity
incomplete re this 1 file called index.htm.
I have no idea how to trouble shoot this - used a colleague
who successfully uploaded a sample index1.htm, yet when I tried I
couldn't do anything; used my website host technical support but
they don't know Dreamweaver and although they tried various ways
they couldn't help.
Please, is there anyone who can throw some light of what
might be the problem?Hi Eunice,
In your site definition in DW, you set up the FTP parameters.
In the
Advanced tab, check the following:
Access: FTP
FTP Host: Enter the URL of the server, without any
http:// or www
or subdirectories (i.e. just servername.domain )
Host directory: /public_html/
Login: Use your username that you created the site with
Password: Use your password for that account
Select the "Save" and the "Use Passive FTP" check boxes. Then
click "Test".
You should get a message saying "Macromedia Dreamweaver
connected to your
Web Server successfully."
If this doesn't work, then you need to double check your
login information
and your Internet connection.

I have to write a shl to ftp a file from a directory to UNIX, the problem is that the file not always have the same name
in the server: \\OCELOT\VOL1\ORGS\FINANCIAL AID\CSS\0910 Data\loaded idocs\3526_331322.dat>
The filenames are, for example, 3526_332840.dat, where 3526 is constant, and 332840 is a sequential number which is always a couple hundred
I used this script before, but I knew the exact name of the file...

FTP is painstakingly and the scripts break easily. If you just mount the windows share on your linux server, there's no need to transfer them, their available!
I know this doesn't resolve the question you've got, but using a samba mount the whole script is obsolete. -
Muse CC 2014.3 crashing on upload to FTP
Though I've made updates to my site in before, Muse CC 2014.3 is now crashing on upload to FTP. I have tried to research this, but have yet to see an answer that fits. As I am only uploading changed content to my main home page it should not be difficult for Muse. Perhaps there is something on my end that has caused this situation. The progress bar reaches about 6%, stops and crashes. I have attached the crash report below for review. I have also tried exporting for HTML as well with the same result. FYI: I did try exporting to HTML a practice website and did the "preview this site in browser..." and was successful. So it initially appears that there is something in my site. The problem with that though is that I am only deleting an element, not adding or changing items. HELP!!

It would be helpful to know whether the crash occurs if the links to the external files are broken. if you rename the folder containing the images and open and output your file without fixing the links, does the crash still occur? If so, that would indicate the crash is triggered by image data within the .muse file. If that's the situation we'll need to have you send us the .muse file so we can further diagnose and repair the problem. If the crash doesn't occur with the links broken, then it's being triggered by an external image file. By re-linking sets of files you may be able to identify the problem file. Assuming the image can be opened in Photoshop without errors, opening it in PS and re-saving will avoid the crash. (If it does turn out to be an external image file, we'd be grateful if you could send us a copy of it. If it's malformed, it should result in an error message and not a crash.)
You can send files to [email protected] along with a link to this thread for context. If the file is larger than 20Mb you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc. (If you use a service, please include your return e-mail address in the body of the message, since not all services include it in the sharing invite they send.) Thanks. -
How to upload to ftp host in adobe muse so it overwrites an existing website
I'm trying to upload to ftp host in adobe muse to publish my muse website live for the first time so that it overwrites a website I have from iweb. I have a domain and hosting service from Ventra IP, I put these details in the 'upload to ftp host' box that appears, it publishes, however my old website that I created in iweb still shows up.
Hi Brianna276. Without knowing your skill level, I will first start out with the easiest fix and ask if you have hit control-F5 to refresh your screen in case your computer is holding a cached version of your site. If that's not it, then I will say that I once had a similar issue and had to go into the files on my site and delete an old index file that was on the remote server. Once I deleted the old one, I was able to see the Muse site (and new index.html file) I uploaded.

Can't upload to FTP after 4.2 update. Only download.
I use Transmit to upload to my FTP site. However, ever since I reinitiallized my AEBS - when I go to add something to my FTP or even to attach something to an online email - it will not do it.
I just went to upload a 3.9MB file to my FTP and it said that it was going to take over 3.5 hours! A file that small should upload in about 8 seconds.
I currently have Transmit running in "Passive" mode.
Any ideas?Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
By WiFi connection is working does that mean you can identify and join your wireless network? If so, you might go to Settings > Safari and make sure Autofill is set to OFF.
If that still does not work, try a restart of the router and restart of the iPad. Also, Settings > WiFi and reset or forget that network, then reinstall the network information manually.
That often helps clear the problem. -
Cannot upload to ftp host from Muse
Win 7, Muse v 2014.1.1.6
I want to "upload to ftp host" from Muse so client can edit in browser. I'm using the same login info that I use with Filezilla. This message appears "Could not validate that the specified domain is associated with the FTP server and folder. Proceed anyway?" I click yes, progress bar shows files uploading but Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing says "This Muse site was not exported using the Upload to FTP Host command. Please use the Upload to FTP Host command to publish the site, and then try again."
When I try to add the folder web files actually reside in, (/httpdocs) Muse says "This folder does not exist. Create it?" I select NO being afraid of goofing up the site.
Client wants to be able to update text on Lots.
Any suggestions?Correct. Putting a slash in front of the folder indicates an absolute path, so we try and create a folder named "httpdocs" in the root folder of your FTP server - not what you want in this case. Removing the slash indicates a relative path - we look for the "httpdocs" folder in the working directory (the directory you are in when you first log in, probably something like '/public_html' or '/www'), and so finds your pre-existing folder.

Unable to 'Upload to FTP Host' in Muse 2014
Hi there,
I have recently installed the new Muse 2014 release. I have gone to update a site and publish via the FTP. The 'Upload to FTP Host' button has changed with the upgrade and only requires Server & User names and the password, I entered this and received a Access Denied : 530 error (fig 1). I contacted the web host and my details haven't changed. I jumped into Muse 7.0 made an update to the site and published via the FTP route as per usual and it uploaded fine (fig 2).
Has something changed that I have missed? any help would be appreciated.
Fig. 1
Fig. 2Please download the file http://muse.adobe.com/assets/ftp2014fix.zip, unzip it, and save the contained file ftpPrefs.xml to the following location:
On Windows: %appdata%\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Muse CC\2014.0 (You can type this in the Path bar at the top of the Windows Explorer window)
On Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Adobe Muse CC/2014.0 (You can type this in the Go To Folder dialog using Shift+Command+G)
Muse uses FTP Extended Passive Mode (EPSV). It's the preferred mode for optimal performance, but we're finding some hosting providers have FTP servers configured such that EPSV is not supported or EPSV only works if you're inside the same firewall as the FTP server. The ftpPrefs.xml file above, turns off EPSV mode. So if that is the problem in this case, putting that file in place should enable you to successfully login and upload without errors. -
Format file problem uploading electronic bank statement files FF_5 RFEBKA00
hello
I am facing a problem when uploading electronic bank statement files with the file format. The situation is as follows:
1- Electronic bank statement files are sent by FTP from the bank to a certain directory in AL11
2- we have developed a "z" program that just picks electronic bank statement files from AL11 directory and process them using standard FF_5 (RFEBKA00) program.
3- When processing some files had an error, when debugging we have verified that errors are caused by some "special" characters non Unicode as "®" (=Hex'AE') with UTF-8, a '#' is displayed.
SAP answers a question as follows:
AL11 is designed to display os-files (log-files, trace-files etc.)
from within the SAP-system for supporting purposes in order not to
logon to the os itself.
It was not designed to display any file-content in the system created
with any code-page.
AL11 opens the file in textmode with encoding option default, which
means UTF-8 in a unicode system and NON-UNICODE in the other case.
You cannot change this setting.
If you have the need to specify these options, depending on your files,
you can make a copy of report RSWATCH0 and customize the OPEN-statement
to yor needs.
On a Unicode system, the files need to be in Unicode format (UTF-8).
Eg:When you interpret a non-Unicode "®" (=Hex'AE') with UTF-8, a '#' is
displayed.
Case 1:
Who is creating those files? Are these files
1) created by you
2) are they written by a SAP application?
==>There are the notes 752835 and 747615 for cases like these.
In case 2) it may be that the application responsible for the file
download (not AL11!) should be the problem, considering note 752835.
There is also the possibility for you to convert the file to the correct format using our tool RSCP_CONVERT_FILE (note 747615).
System administrator has told me to copy standard RFEBKA00 program and modify the OPEN-statement but I am not agree because I think that the problem is when generating the files in bank's system and/or sending the files to SAP by FTP.
Does any body face a problem like this before? Any ideas?
Thanks a lotHello,
The files that are available in AL11 are in Unicode.
Can you convert them to text by using the following method and then try:
You must have mapped this directory and having access.
Right click on file
Open with: Microsoft Office Word
Then the pop-up comes: File conversion - bacs
Select Other encoding radio button
Then select "Unicode" from list
and say OK
Now the file is being opened in readable format:
File SAVE as PLAIN TEXT
Save the file in the same folder that you are referring to in AL11
Now if you try with this .txt file, it should work in FF_5
Thanks,

Hello everybody, I'm trying to transfer an image file in JPG format using native FTP Put File of LV 2013 .
The transfer takes place without problems and in the end I find the file on the server, connection and transfer OK
MESSAGE OF OUTPUT
221 Goodbye . You uploaded and downloaded 0 168 kbytes .
The problem is that when I try to download the file from the server locally and view the image is distorted and as the original but with the wrong colors .
depends on what?
can you help me?
THANK YOUWas the transfer done in binary mode? If not it will interpret a 0x00 as the end of the message, and in that case I would expect only some of the image to go over, not all of it but strange colors. I have uploaded images using these VIs before and didn't have any trouble, but don't have the code anymore.
