UPLOAD ORGANIZATIONAL CHART IN SAP

Hi Experts,
My customer has the following requirement:
In order to avoid manual entry of Organizational Data we need to upload the Organizational Chart from his System in SAP.
Is there a way to upload the Objects and the Relationships between them?
Thanks in advance

As our friends said BDC and LSMW and BAPI  or IDOCif it is remote servers those the Best parctices to upload Data.
Whatever is your legacy system, you still get that info atleast you will get them in ASCII format i.e text format.
You can very much download that info do the cleaning and clinsing and Modifications do the upload
Best Regards

  • Organizational Chart in SAP

    Dear Experts,
    Can we have an organizational chart like shown below in SAP? I know in SAP we have it in tree form, but my client wants specifically in below format. Is it possible?
    This is just an example I am showing, not the exact format. But is this kind of scenario possible in SAP?
    Please reply.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Yes, there are some standard reports that let you visualise the organisational structure.
    There is a tool called Human Resources Information System (or HIS) that can be accessed via transaction PPIS. The first time you access the transaction, it will ask you which plan version you want to use - usually this is 01 (although it may be different in your business). Use the search help to find the top-level organisational unit you wish to report on, and use the radio buttons to select whether you also want to display positions and/or employees. Click the execute button and it will generate a very basic org structure. There are some screenshots on this page as an example: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-35373
    Alternatively, if you use Manager Self-Service then the latest version has a basic org chart view. It's basically a very simple version of the Nakisa org chart, but you don't have to pay any additional licensing costs. It's in the MSS Team View application, the help page for this is here: http://help.sap.com/erp_hcm_ias_2013_02/helpdata/en/a2/063081c4c34b07b727ff4ad2b76101/content.htm

  • SAP HR Interface for Organizational Charting (HR-OCI) 6.0

    Do you need to have a SAP portal to use HR-OCI 6.0?  Do you also need to use ESS or MSS?  We are on SAP ECC 6.0.  We currently don't have a SAP portal, but we are looking into using HR-OCI to extract the Organizational Chart for a third party vendor.  Is this still possible?
    Thanks,

    For SAP we have NAKISA an org charting tool which is an authorized tool for SAP.
    make an FS and the ABAP person will do the interface.

    I have tried so many times to get hold of that example code!
    All SAP has to do is invest a little more time in code like that and we can get rid of Nakisa!
    JNet is nice - but no match for Flex for a really nice rich environment. Not to mention it is not the simplest component to code for. The amount of trial and error to get your applications looking as you want! I spent most of the time when I built a JNet team calendar just doing tiny tweeks and then retesting.
    We created our own Org Chart Adobe Flex component. (well we actually contracted it out to some very smart people with more Flex/Adobe knowledge - I wasn't allowed to have the time to play myself   )  I looked around last year and there wasn't really any good free org charting Flex component out there that could be adopted into an SAP Flash Island.
    IBM have some great Flex OrgChart components - but they are very expensive to licence.
    Good luck.

  • Organizational Chart in MSS

    Dear Guru's
    When trying to acces the organizational chart in the MSS scenario the system returns the XML data and not a visual representation.
    Could you please help me.
    Kind regards

    Hi Milan,
    It seems to be that you have to install and integrate a third party software vendor with SAP, to translate the XML-files into visuals.

    Hello David,
    You are referring to the Organizational Chart Tester IView (     com.sap.pct.erp.mss.oci_tester).
    This IView is an example of a third-party vendor's OrgChart application. So, this is only intended for test purposes, not for productive use. Please refer to the following SAP Documentation link:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/1d/d8ea3652f847a3833810344ed2a494/content.htm
    An example of Organizational Chart application would be the OrgChart component of the STVN (Sap Talent Visualization by Nakisa). Refer to http://www.sap.com/solutions/solutionextensions/talent/index.epx.
    I hope I clarified.
    Cheers,
    Mauricio Bento Ghem.

  • Organizational structures in SAP

    Hello,
    I am beginner in SD module and would be posting basic questions.
    Why should we define Organizational structures in SAP?
    Thank you

    Organizational structures must be defined in SAP to represent the structure of the organization. These structures can be defined independently for each functional area of the system. For example, the sales department will want to define sales organizations, distribution channels and divisions (product groups), while the purchasing department will want to define purchasing organizations, plants and storage locations. Independent of these structures, a structure must be defined in financial accounting (FI) that represents the legal reporting entity. This structure is represented by the company code. The balance sheet and the profit and loss statement are prepared for the company code.
    Functional areas and organizational structures include:
    Functional area Organizational structure
    Sales and distribution -> Sales organization, distribution channel, division, sales area, ...
    Financial accounting -> Company code, chart of accounts, business area, ...
    Logistics -> Purchasing organization, purchasing group, plant, storage location,...
    Controlling -> Controlling area, cost centre, profit centre, ...
    Human resources -> Personnel area, employee group, employee subgroup, ...
    General data that is used by all company codes is stored at a client level. This means that data valid for all functional areas needs to be stored only once (eg vendor name and address is stored at the client level whilst payment terms may vary for each company code).
    Organizational structures can be used to control access to processing within the organization. For example, users can be restricted to process documents for their own company code only.

  • Uploading data from non sap system to sap system

    hi to all experts,
    my requirement is to upload data into the sap system from non sap system . the data is in  a flat file ,but the problem is that  in the flat file all the field lengths and fields are not in order or same as sap system. How to upload the data into sap system ....

    hi,
    the data is in a flat file,but the problem is that in the flat file all the field lengths and fields are not in order or same as sap system.
    If the data is in excel sheet use this FM.
    CALL FUNCTION 'ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE'
        EXPORTING
          FILENAME                      = P_FILE
          I_BEGIN_COL                   = 1
          I_BEGIN_ROW                   = 1
          I_END_COL                     = 17
          I_END_ROW                     = 3000
        TABLES
          INTERN                        = itab
    EXCEPTIONS
      INCONSISTENT_PARAMETERS       = 1
      UPLOAD_OLE                    = 2
      OTHERS                        = 3
    It will read the data from excel sheet column wise and then store it in ITAB. you can change the order after reading the file.
    In case of Text file use FM  GUI_UPLOAD.
    You can change the order of the fileds after reading it from file, but the length and all you have to make compatible to SAP standard fields.
    Regards,
    Sachin
