  • Using Applescript for uploading pictures on the Internet

    Hello!
I was wondering if there was a way to use Applescript with Firefox (or another browser)...?
We have many many villas on our website, each one with lots of pictures. We are constantly adding new villas to our site and amending old ones.
To add pictures we go to a page in our cms for each villa, located there is a drop down menu - image 1, image 2, 3 etc etc etc
For each one we have to manually browse for and attach the photo. As you can guess this is a time consuming process, we have asked the web designer before for this but he is so busy and we have other more important stuff for him to be working on.
As Applescript is so nifty I was wondering if anybody had an idea on how to use it for this process - i.e. have a folder full of pictures on the desktop and Applescript can add them?
I have no idea if this is possible, any ideas?
    Many thanks and regards.
    Simon

Yeah I completely understand, I just wanted to see if anybody knew if it could be done.
Obviously for security reasons I can't let anybody into our CMS, so looks like it's a bit of an impossible task.
Although it would be awesome to simply change the script slightly for each villa and let it do it all, this would be stupidly complicated as there are many menus to navigate to get to the uploading picture area.
It would be great if I could do all that manually then once on that page (or given the page url to Applescript) set Applescript running to upload all the images for me.
This is what that page looks like, if this helps?!:
    http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/241/screenshot20100415at141.png
    The drop down menu contains:
    Villa Plan
    Small Location Map
    Image Gallery 1
    Image Gallery 2
    etc
    etc
I could arrange a folder with the pictures in order (i.e. Villa Plan first, then Small location Map, then the picture for 1 etc) so no worries about the Villa Plan and location map.
I've got a feeling I'm just going to have to do it manually (I shall forever be uploading pictures), but I thought I would give it to some of you geniuses to mull over!
For whoever creates a script I'll give you a discounted stay in Paradise... there's an incentive!!
    Many thanks and regards,
    Simon

  • ICloud and uploading pictures problem

I have the newest ipad and the 4s iphone. I have iCloud but sometimess when I take pictures on my phone they are not showing up on my ipad. what could be the issue?

What did you upgrade to mt lion from?  Was your email setup manually at one point?  If it was, remove the account, and then make sure you're signed into the icloud preferences in system preferences and mail is checked off.  That will automatically setup your email in the mail.app.
Just make sure your mail shows up properly at icloud.com before removing the account from the mail.app, first.

  • Problem with uploading pictures

i just got my ipod classic 160gigs and i tried to upload pictures with my laptop (hp windows vista), it loads a while but then it suddenly shut off my laptop, i tried it many times but still the same problem...what will i do??im afraid my laptop might destroyed if i continue using this ipod...

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Your laptop just turns off when syncing with your iPod, even when connected to power? Is it possible that there is something wrong with the laptop (maybe power issues when using a USB device). Have you connected any other devices to your computer/has your computer done this in any other situation?
I hesitate to blame the laptop (and I am no software/hardware expert), but I find it difficult to understand why an iPod or iTunes would cause a laptop to just shut off. I'd think something is wonky with the laptop.
Does the problem occur when just syncing music/video? Have you tried contacting HP support as well?

  • Cannot upload pictures from iphoto to Internet

This happens every time I try to upload some pictures to the internet - I select the first photo fine but then I can't select another photo that's close to it. I have to scroll down 10-15 pics before the select button "lights up" again. This is unbelievably frustrating.

That didn't come off sounding very clear, let me try again. So I go to shutterfly (for example, this happens at ANY website I try to upload to) and get ready to upload some photos.
Then I select my first photo and everything's great
Then I go to select another photo right next to it and I can't select it, the "select" button won't light up and I have to scroll down 10-15 photos before I'm able to select another picture. argh!

  • How to upload pictures to internet?

Can you upload pictures taken on the iPhone directly to the internet using the Safari browser, such as uploading them to Blogger, MySpace, Photobucket, other photo uploading sites...?

I use .Mac and it works wonderfully! I create a Web Gallery in iPhoto '08 then I put that web gallery on my website in iWeb. Then I have my iPhone all synced up with .Mac so all I do is take a pic with my iPhone and then send it to my web gallery. It then posts to the web gallery on my iWeb site and even downloads back to my iPhoto! .Mac is well worth the $100!!!! It makes everything flow together so seamlessly!!!

  • "Updating Library"  - problem with uploading pictures

I have been trying to upload pictures and when I go into photos it says "updating library" and it's been trying for at least an hour. I've tried uploading only 15 pictures and still nothing. I also have the issue with the size. Do I need to resize before upload? If so how and in what dimensions? Need help!!

Theree is no need to resize photos, the computer will do that before transferring.
Try force quitting the photo app on the iPad by holding the sleep wake button until you see the slide to power off screen. Then hold the home button until you are back at the home screen and try open the photos app again.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
First because FB uses Java to go Safari/Preferences and select the Security tab. Where you see; Web content Make sure the top 3 buttons are checked.
Next, go here for help to install the Facebook plugin now required for uploading images.
    http://www.facebook.com/help/?ref=pf#!/help.php?page=830
Go here to make sure the Facebook plugin is installed, go to ~/Libraryy/Internet Plug-Ins/ and make sure this file is there: fbplugin1_01.plugin.
Make sure you are running the latest version of Safari. From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/About Safari. It should be 4.0.4 If not, click the Apple Menu/Software Updates to bring your system sofware up to date.
    Then repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Cannot upload pictures on Ebay when using Firefox with Windows 8.1 - but works with IE 11

Problem with uploading Photos on Ebay only when Firefox is my Browser - -
Just recently I have noticed I cannot upload pictures anymore using the option STANDARD. I have to use their BASIC option, which is one picture at a time.
When I select STANDARD I find that BROWSE does not respond. My configuration is Windows 8.1, 8gb memory and using the latest Firefox.
Rather oddly it works fine with -
    8.1 + Internet Explorer
    XP + IE
    XP + Firefox
Just this combination - no go.
    Any ideas ?

Had same problem since I updated FF26. Always same old answers that don't work: reset FF, reinitialize, try "mode sans echec" (forgot english name for this), cut off addons, AV & firewall, check in config:about etc.. Think posts concerning this same problem are skattered all around because it has many different issues. And that's why FF has not yet digged to the genuine cause.
My facts: 1) can't browse to send an attachment with an email (but I can with IE); 2) In tools/options if I check "ask where to record" browse doesn't work either. 3) In tools/options if I check "download in such or such file", then it does download in file named "telechargement" ( in french) but I can't choose another file because here again "browse" doesn't work.
I saw a post somewhere talking about problems related to avast (it's my AV). Know if it's true?
I'd be really glad if this could be solved cause I don't intend to change. FF is the best!

  • How to unload the iPad iPhone picture on the Internet?

How to unload the iPad iPhone picture on the Internet? Why does the button "Upload Photos" on the iPad iPhone is not activated?

Ah, I understand the problem, and YES , that is a problem with the iPad, since there is no true File System within the iPad, there's no way to do what you're trying (at least that I know).  I've had my iPad since May 2010, and have never been able to get past that.
This is one of the areas where and iPad (or any tablet) falls short of a true laptop or other computer.
Sorry to be the one to let you know that.
Unless someone can correct me, I think you're stuck with using another system to get your files uploaded.

  • PERPLEXING PICTURE PROBLEM

I have scoured the internet looking for an answer or suggestion to this problem....even called APPLEs 1-800 support line however it appears that there is no way to resolve my issue unless the good people at APPLE decide to fix it on their end.
I use my iPod TOUCH everyday. I absolutely love everything about it except for one extremely frustrating application: PHOTO. When I first purchased my iPod, I uploaded several different family photos from my computer onto the iPod. Since then, I've re-organized my entire photo album on my computer, so the original folder that I had uploaded pictures from to the iPod no longer exists. My problem is that now I wish to add some NEW photos to my iPod. When I try to sync, I get the message that reads:
"Are you sure you want to sync photos? All existing photos and albums on the ipod "steve" will be replaced with photos and albums from the selected folder".
EXTREMELY frustrating that APPLE expects it's users to create a specific folder just for the iPod, which you duplicate all of your current pictures into, and are never supposed to move or adjust just to satisfy it's software. I have unfortunately lost several very important pictures from my computer, which now only exist on my iPod TOUCH (Yes....I do know how to get photos/songs...etc off of the iPod back onto the computer, but the quality of the picture as we all know is well below sub-par compared to the original.).
Why is it that you can't just simply drag and drop single photos into iTunes/iPod without DELETING/REPLACING ALL OF THE PHOTOS? Am I the only one who thinks this is absolutely crazy???????? You'd think with APPLEs primary focus being on "simplicity/ease of use for their customers" that something this issue would have been thought of?
So if any of the people at APPLE actually read these forums, I am begging PLEASE do some sort of software update in the near future to resolve this problem. My wife and I are eagerly expecting our first child, and I am sure that there are going to be a lot of new pics that I would love to add to my iPod very soon.
    PLEASE HELP.
    Thanks,
    Steve

Not sure what you did, but I did something at one time last week and had to fix it.
It's no big deal, and you don't have to yell at Apple
    Attach your iPod Touch.
Open the Image Capture App. (in Applications folder)
Download all the photos from your Touch to another folder on your Desktop for now.
    That way, they're safe.
Now, you can make an album in iPhoto using those pix.
In iTunes, you can select that and any other iPhoto albums to your Touch going forward.

  • Why does it take so long to upload pictures from iphote to AppleTV

Why does it take so long to upload pictures from iphoto to AppleTV?   It takes hours to see a folder created in iPhoto to finally display on AppleTV.

Do you mean that you are importing music from an audio CD into iTunes?  If so, the most likely causes of slow speeds are limitations of the CD drive you are using and/or the CD being dirty or damaged. If you turn on error correction within iTunes this can slow down the import process if it is repeatedly re-reading the same data before it gets a repeatable result (though it is a good idea to always have error connection enabled as the alternative is audible errors in the results).  Depending on which system I'm using typical CD reading speeds vary between 5x and 12x (so a nominal 74 min CD imports in 6-15 min).
Importing a CD has nothing to do with your internet connection (which is only used to look up the song titles, etc. before you start importing).
However, if you are downloading music from the iTunes store or another internet retailer such as Amazon, I'd expect an album's worth of m4a/mp3 files to download in 1-2 minutes on a typical broadband connection.  If this is what you're doing, and its taking an hour to complete, then there's a problem with the broadband connection itself or with how your PC is set up to use it.
