Upload songs onto my computer

hey, how do i upload songs from my ipod onto my computer? i got some songs from another comp on my ipod which i want on my comp, how do i do this? cheers joe

Normally all you need do is copy the entire iTunes folder from the music folder in your profile on the old computer into the music folder in your profile on the new one. If the library and media folders were split into separate locations then it is much the same, but the media folder should be restored to the same absolute path it previously occupied.

  • New Computer, want to upload songs onto new computer

I just bought a new I-MAC and want to get all of my music onto the new computer, but when I hookup my i-pod, it says I can only sync with one computer and I have already done this on another computer(it is a PC that has recently died). I have heard about "rippers" but there has to be an easier way to do this. I am sure I'm not the first one to encounter this, and I have looked for a way to fix this but haven't been able to find one...I am still learning the Mac operating system.
    Thanks for the help

Apple doesn't support the transferring of music from your iPod to your iTunes. Only iTunes to iPod. So to do this you will need to download a third party program that will help copy your music from your iPod back to your computer, or there are a couple manual methods you can check out.

Personally I was in the exact position you are, I used Senuti to take the music off my Pc formated iPod and put it on my new Mac. It was easy, worked perfect, took me about an hour to get it off and reload it all back to my iPod. Saved me a lot of time and headaches, Good Luck

Next try using the search feature to try to find it since the Purchased section is saying it is on your computer.

  • Trying to upload songs onto ipod

I've had my ipod for about 4 months now. i just got out to school about a month ago and today was the first time trying to upload some new songs onto it. when it connected to my computer, it would show the "do not disconnect screen" on it, then reset. i tried doing this 3 or 4 times, and it has yet to work. i was wondering how i could go about fixing this, or if it's just a problem with my ipod that i can't fix? thanks a lot.

I had/have the same problem. I say both - because I went ahead and had to restore the ipod tonight. Itunes nor my PC would recognize it. I downloaded the upgrades for itunes and the ipod installed them both. Went ahead and uploaded all the songs again and it worked fine. Then I disconnected the ipod, uploaded another cd to see if it would upload to the ipod and nope it wouldnt. Itunes would not recognize it. The only way I can disconnect it now is to shut off the PC because all I get is the "do not disconnect" warning. When the PC finally does recognize it - it tells me I need to update the lastest software for the ipod, but then it freezes and when it finally does actually do something - it only gives me the option to restore it. I dont want to do another restore and am at a total loss of what to do next. I have read thru the FAQ's and cant find anything that helps unless I am overlooking it. So any help would be great. Hope we get this problem worked out..Thanks

  • My iPod is now corrupted and I need to get the songs onto my computer.

Earlier today, while listening to my iPod, I dropped it and it hit the ground hard. Now, as I try to connect it to my computer, it claims the iPod is corrupted and needs to be restored. However, none of the songs on my iPod are on my computer and I really don't want to lost all of them (I have a LOT of songs on it.). Is there possibly some way to get the songs from it onto my computer before losing them all so I can put them back on? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am currently having a similar problem (without the dropping part). I found a way to get all my music onto my computer, but the only problem is that the song titles dont get written as the file name. Instead the names of all the files are just 4 letters (ZHRU.mp3, WXIQ.mp3, ...). This isnt too much of a problem though, because in iTunes, all the song information is there. For me, this was a bit of a problem because some of the music on my iPod is in my iTunes and I wanted to avoid doubles. But if none of the music on your iPod is on your computer, then this shouldnt be a problem for you.
There is a program called ipodrip that you can use to take all the songs from your iPod to your computer. If your iPod is not recognized, then a message comes up and says something about hard ripping the music (or something like that) choose that option, and all the music should be taken from your ipod to your computer.
    Hope this helps.

  • Uploading songs onto your iPhone

Hello, I have recently purchased a CD to learn a new language. I have successfully imported the CD onto my Imac/Itunes libary and the tracks play when i double click on them. I would love to transfer these tracks onto my iphone. I have previously purchased songs before on itunes and they automatically synch with my iphone but the CD has not. When I try and play the tracks off my iphone it first said i was unable to as Genius was not enabled. I enabled Genius but then the message says there are not enough related songs to play the track. Is it possible to play a track without it having to be in a Genius Playlist?
If anyone can help me I would be forever greatful!
    Thank you.

Nah, you can pretty much just plug it in and let it do it's thing. Besides you have a full backup... on your iPod.

  • Move songs onto another computer

My Desktop computer has a virus and I want to reformat it to get rid of the virus but i dont want to loose my songs. Is it possible for me to plug my Ipod into my laptop and somehow put the songs onto it so I can save them while I reformat my desktop computer? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I did the same exact thing using software called tune transfer. It's 20 bucks, but you may be able to find something like it in a freeware version.

  • Cant Synch CD songs onto new computer

Got a new computer, have music from CDs I put on my Ipod. Cant synch them onto my new computer's Itunes, only the ones I bought off there directly. How can I get my CD songs onto Itunes from my Ipod?

You copy them from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer.
The ipod is not a backup device.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • Upload songs from different computer

Anyone know how to upload songs from different computers? It will prompt a error it detect my ipod has songs from another library and ask me to link to current one, if i do so, it will erase all my existing songs. Anyone has solution to this?

By default the iPod is set to "automatically manage songs and playlists", which is why you get the iTunes warning telling you the iPod is linked to another library when you connect it to a computer it hasn't been on before. If you want to use it on more than one computer then connect your iPod to your main computer and change the update setting. Once it's connected and showing in iTunes go to Edit>Preferences>iPod and change the update method to to "manually manage songs and playlists":

  • HT4557 How do I import iPad songs onto my computer itunes?

I'm trying to transfer music from my iPad to my itunes library on my computer. I had to delete my itunes library on my computer and reinstall it.

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases over File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. For music from other sources (e.g. copies from CDs) then if you don't them on a backup that you can copy onto your computer then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back (you can't do it via home sharing) : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

Planing to buy one but i just wanted to know if you typed or drawed something on the ipad can you upload it to your computer.
