Upload to dropbox

Hi. I wonder if someone can help me? I used to have an android phone which i used for business. I have clients linked into dropbox files privately and these are ongoing works, needing updated frequently. Last week i changed to this Nokia lumia 625. I love the phone but am unable to upload to dropbox! I cannot start again with a different app as the infrastructure is set up and being worked with. Is there an app that i can upload pics to which will trransfer to the dropbox app? I look forward to any help or advice. Many thanks.

Hi dooditand,
Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
Have you tried downloading the Dropbox application from the Store? You need to install the application first, then set up your account for you to be able to save and share your files. You can try this link: Dropbox Application.

  • Links in excel don't work once uploaded to dropbox

    Hi,
I am busy creating an excel document that has various link to documents in other folders on my computer. I would like to share this so others in my department can use it as well (via dropbox) but once I have uploaded the original document to dropbox (with
all the other folders containing the documents that the links point to) then when I click on the links in the excel document they cannot find the files. I have tried everything in trying to solve this. I was hoping editing it in my dropbox folder on my computer
would solve the problem as surely it should sync it automatically? Nothing works!
    Any help MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
    Thanks!

    Hi,
As far as I know, Office uses relative address than absolute address by default.
When a file is uploaded, the "convert to relative" feature changes hyperlinks to relative links when the file is saved.
    Is your Office version 2003?
To use this hotfix, follow these steps:
    1. Quit Office.
    2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    3. Locate and then click to select the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common
    4. After you select the key that is specified in step 3, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value.
    5. Type UseCaseInsensitivePathForHyperlink, and then press ENTER.
    6. Right-click UseCaseInsensitivePathForHyperlink, and then click Modify.
    7. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
    8. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
    Notice: Please backup the registry.
Please refer to the below link:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917689/en-us
And you also can use HYPERLINK to create a new file.

  • My design is made darker when uploaded to Dropbox or emailed.

I am designing a brochure for print using photoshop. I am working in CMYK working format, using CS6. I have tried saving the image as .jpg, PDF, and .tiff but the problem still persists. The preview in photoshop looks good and when I open it from finder it looks fine. The problem comes when I try to upload the file to dropbox or email it. The image looks very dark and very over-saturated, almost like a burn tool has been on it. I have been using photoshop for somtime but this is one of the first times using CMYK for print. I am not a pro. Please help if you can.

Simple. You are using Adobe RGB as the color space for print and non color managed apps prefer sRGB, a smaller gamut than Adobe RGB. The properly rendered colors are clipped in the smaller sRGB space making it look darker.
You will need to convert a copy the file to the sRGB profile (Edit > Convert to Profile...) or use File > Save for Web and check "convert to sRGB".

  • Upload from dropbox to instagram

am trying to upload photos from pc to instagram - what about dropbox how would this work?

Here is a proven method, how you could use Dropbox to upload pics to Instagram:
Mind it, its going to be this workflow - Mac > Lightroom (or iPhoto) > Photoshop > Dropbox on Mac > Dropbox on iPhone > Instagram
    Steps:
    1. Get a dropbox account first on their website; have it installed on Mac (via downloading .dmg from dropbox.com) as well install dropbox app on the iPhone (via iphone app store). Dropbox is cloud based so what folders/ files you see on Mac wil be same on iPhone app.
    2. In iMac, open iPhoto or Lightroom, edit those pics you want to upload to instagram.
    3. In Photoshop create a DOC of 612x612px, and keep it for reuse.
    4. Bring those pics you edited in iPhoto or Lightroom to Photoshop 612x612px, adjust the framing and composition, save as for web directly to Dropbox, in a new folder with your choice of name (e.g XYZ 1).
    5. In iPhone app, inside the Dropbox app, go to folder XYZ 1, and open each pic in slide view mode and save each one by one to your iPhone gallery.
    6. Now that you have the pics in your iPhone gallery, you can upload to Instagram.
The above may seem a lot of steps but I do it everyday, just 3 photos a day as I prefer, so I dont feel that much stress and pain, but truely it is a long process. I am looking for a APP that will fit on my MAVERICKS from where I can organise all pics, edit them and upload directly to Instagram. Shortly I will try an app from BLUESTACKS.com, lets see if it works!
    All the very best!

  • Uploading Images go to Dropbox

    History
I recently reloaded my Mac with 10.6.8 and after doing so connected my compact flash reader to take
off some image and they all uploaded to Dropbox.
    I have since installed Ilife 11 ->  Iphoto 11
    Problem Now:
When I upload images they go to the Dropbox folder
How do I change the path so they uplaod to the Last Import folder
    in Iphoto?
Yours answers would be much appreciated.

That depends on exactly "how" you are "uploading
Basically you need to select the photos and export to a desktop folder - the user tip on exporting gives details of the options available
And as a side note do not put your iPhoto library on DropBox - so far it has proven not to work and to damage the iPhoto library - sometimes even the one you your Mac

  • Does Adobe Reader for iPad save annotations by/in itself (once uploaded from e.g. dropbox)

Does Adobe Reader for iPad save annotations by/in itself (once uploaded from dropbox I can still see them after closing the app or switching documents)? I lost some valuable annotations while switching documents and apps over time. How do I save them? Only by sending it to dropbox for instance?

    It saves the file when:
    1) The app goes to background
    2) A share action (open in, email, print) occurs
    3) A form submit occurs
    4) You close the document by going to "Home" or "Documents", or open another document
One issue that people encounter is that they open the file in a reader that does not support annotations (like the dropbox PDF view or the iOS Mail app). It doesn't sound like this is the case for you though, since you do see the annotations.
There is a known issue, where on a small number of documents with specific properties, we fail to save changes. This is an issue that we have fixed and will be in our next release. The release is currently pending approval by Apple. It's possible that you encountered this issue, and if so, I apologize.
Info on the upcoming release here:

  • Uploading from iPad to dropbox

    Hello:
I am taking *a lot* of photos on a business trip in Europe, and am only taking my cameras and my iPad 3. I cannot find a way to upload my photos to Dropbox from my iPad.  iCloud is the only option offered, and it doesn't store them long-term, only stores 1k of photos, nor does it store them in their original configuration.  Is there a workaround for this?
    Thank you,
    C

Use the Dropbox app to upload photos from your iPad to Dropbox.
In the Dropbox app, go to the folder you want to upload photos to, tap the three dots icon, and choose Upload.
Dropbox also make a dedicated app, called Carousel, for uploading photos. It's available now for iPhone and coming soon for iPad.

  • Viewing tif files in Preview, Dropbox

I've created two image files in Photoshop, removing hidden layers, merging layers, and then flattening the layers, saving them as tif files. One is about 4 MB; the other is about 24 MB.
The 4 MB files shows up fine in QuickView and in Preview; the 24 MB file shows up with a white background and one element from one of the layers.
I've also tried this saving the 24 MB tif file in layers, preserving the alpha; same result.
Uploaded to Dropbox, both tif files show up with only one layer visible, even though the file has flattened all the layers!
Thanks for any help you can offer sorting this out. I'd like to be able to view the 24 MB tif file in Preview.

Since you can open the TIFFs on a PC, then there must be something wrong with Preview on your Mac. You can use Pacifist to extract the Preview application from your original OS X installation CD/DVD. Replace the one currently on the hard drive.
But there's quite a few other apps that will open a TIFF. Photoshop, Graphic Converter, InDesign, Quark and Illustrator to name a few. There's a bunch of free and shareware viewers you could download here.

  • Trying to upload raw cr2 files and Lightroom says "file is not recognized"

Backstory: I photographed a VERY important commercial shoot today and I went to upload the photos to Lightroom. The first 30 images uploaded just fine, but the rest won't. Lightroom says the file is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom (401). Everything is updated in my computer... Lightroom, Photoshop ect. Photoshop also says that the file cannot be read. I can't open them in iPhoto or preview either. BUT I can see the thumbnail when I click the camera card reader on the desktop. I am uploading from a card reader as well. I shot with this card yesterday and everything was fine. I NEVER delete photos off my camera, and I always format it. If it is corrupted, how do you I find that out, and is there anyway to get my photos back?
Is there anything I can do to fix this? I am panicking. Help, please.
    Thank you in advance

The two raw files you've uploaded to dropbox are corrupted so Lightroom and Photoshop are giving you the correct message.  At least with these two, the embedded JPG preview is there but the raw data is not correct so cannot be rendered.  Here is the error that Canon's own software gives when the files are attempted to be edited:
You should reattempt to copy the images from the memory cards to your computer using a card reader and an operating-system function (Explorer or Finder) to do it rather than LR or a cable connected to the camera, then see if things work any better.  If you already used a card reader, then try a different one and see if the situation improves.
If you cannot get a better set of images by retransferring them, then we can work through how to extract the embedded JPG previews en masse.

  • ICloud photo library taking an eternity to upload.

Is anyone else experiencing the new iCloud Photo Library taking an unbelievable amount of time to upload photos from their Mac?  Granted, I've got a lot of photos to upload - somewhere around 4000 -- but so far I've been uploading my pics to iCloud for well into 4-hours and the number of photos "uploading" (according to my iMac's iCloud "ticker") hasn't changed in over 2-hours.  It's been stuck on the same number of photos "uploading" for these last 2-hours and shows no progress at all since then.  Anyone have a clue as to what gives?

    Csound,
I got over 10.000 photo's till now saved at dropbox. It's over 100 Gb. Point is that the upload in dropbox is within the range of a few (2-3) hours while at iCloud it took me more than 24 hours until only 5-6 Gb is uploaded. Same computer same network and a glass fiber provider with really fast internet. So iCloud will cost me weeks before photos are synced.
Like I said, by far the worst cloud service. It is like being back at the 14k4 modem era. This isn't Apple standard or is it the new standard?

  • I'm a Dropbox user and I migrate between my iMac and a Toshiba notebook.  Is there Apple software that will work on the notebook allowing me to open Pages, Numbers or Keynote documents that I've placed in Dropbox?

I'm a Dropbox user and I migrate between my iMac and a Toshiba notebook.  Anyone know if there is Apple software that will work on the Toshiba that will allow me to open Pages, Numbers or Keynote documents when I access them in Dropbox?
Maybe I should just always export from Pages into Word  (and likewise for the other types) before I upload to Dropbox?  I hope not!!

If you don't want to export files and consider the Microsoft formats to be your basic working format, then you need to consider either using MsOffice for Mac or LibreOffice instead of the iWork suite.
You could always run a virtualised OSX on the Toshiba, but I don't think Apple will appreciate me telling you how to do that.

  • Trying to upload video from iPad 2 to Windows 7 PC

I cannot find a clear description of how to upload a video made on the iPad 2 to my PC (Windows 7).  Ultimately I want to copy to DVD to allow play on a TV via DVD.  I've searched through the technical support, but I'm not finding much that really seems to address the problem, even though this looks like it would be a common issue.
I made a video of our Christmas cantata using my iPad 2.  It's 1 hour 13 minutes long.  The only way that I've found that seems to allow a transfer to the PC is a Camera Upload via Dropbox.  The format is .mov, which will not play on my PC. It's also only 750 MB in size, which leads me to believe that it's being compressed for transfer.  So here are some questions:
What format is the iPad 2 using for making videos, .mov or .mp4 or ????  I was expecting .mp4; where does the .mov come from?
Is the file being compressed by some other operation to transfer in Dropbox?  While I was preparing for making the video, I ran several trials and it seemed like the files were easily in the GB range.  Does 750 MB sound right?  Recommended way to play .mov files on PC or for TV?
How do I get files to my PC?  My understanding is that iTunes can be used to download from PC to iPad but not to upload from iPad to PC.
    Thanks.

If you shot it with your iPad's camera then the video should be in the DCIM folder.
DCIM is where the ipad mimicks a digital camera and in using that you can simply drag and drop files off your iPad's camera roll into your computer.
Connect the ipad to your computer and using windows explorer, look for your iPad. (in windows 7 you should see the little manilla folder with 3 colored dots and a bluish silver upside down U)
Click/double click on that and you should see all the folders and devices attached to your computer. One of them will be your iPad. Double click on that and drill down to the DCIM folder. Inside that you should see several folders with random letter/number names. Explore those until you find your video then simply drag/drop it off your iPad onto your computer's harddrive.

  • Can I use dropbox on my mac

I am not good with computers and have had a 3D animation built for my new business. The file has been sent via 'dropbox' and is too large to forward on. Can I put the file in a dropbox for others to access?
Can I buy dropbox on the appstore?

Files can be shared via Drop Box and the service I understand is free for up to 2 GB.
I am not sure if you are sending the file ot the file is being sent to you.
If it is being sent to you, the sender can load the file to their DropBox account and share it via a link you can access via Safari.
If you have the file, then upload to DropBox and share it it for the other person.
