Upload to Flickr from PSE 10.

I have Photoshop Elements 10. I have been unable to upload any photos from organizer to flickr. A popup appears saying something like "preparing files to upload" but then just goes on and on. Tried repeatedly over many weeks with 8 photos, always with the same results. On one occasion, I left the computer running for several hours, just to see if the photos were in fact uploading but just took a while. Still nothing. My internet was connected and working fine.  Any suggestions?

Your problem is with iPhoto for iOS. This is the iPhoto for Mac forum. You need to go to the other forum.

  • Can't upload to flickr from Aperture 3.5.1

I've just recently tried to upload to Flickr from Aperture 3.5.1 and am getting an error message:
"Aperture is no longer authorized to use the Flickr account "Michael Meyers" Do you want to set up publishing to this account again?"
I then click on the "set-up" button and am taken through to Safari to login to Flickr. I can do that successfully but then get a message saying "Oops! Flickr can't find a valid callback URL."
So it looks like there is no way for me to export from Aperture to Flickr.
This might have something to do with the Flickr API changing to use SSL only but I can't really be sure since the error messages aren't that descriptive.
    Any ideas?

Check, if the "Primary Only" flag is active. If yes, disable it.
With this flag active, only the primary image will be effected by edits.

  • Newbie question - uploading to Smugmug from PSE 7

Pardon me if this was already answered, a simple question.  Recently installed PSE 7 on Win XP and created an album from a recent vacation trip.  I would like to upload the album to my Smugmug gallery.  I don't see options for Smugmug/Flickr/... in the 'More Options' menu within 'Share'.  I have set my location to 'USA & Canada', it says all services are up to date, but I see none of these online photo sharing services.  Any help will be appreciated.
    A frustrated newbie.

Thank you John, McPap, and Barbara for sharing your suggestions.  I based my decision to go with SmugMug for hosting my photos because users in several discussion forums indicated support for uploading pictures to SmugMug from tools like PSE, F-Spot, etc.  Anyway, back to the issue I wrote about:  I followed up with Adobe support and tried the following procedures, all in vain ending up with the conclusion that the downloaded software that I have installed may have been corrupted resulting in the online services access not working.  So they are going to ship me the software on a CD (free of charge as I had already paid for the software) and will give that a try.  Here are the options that the support technicians (I had to call a couple of times) recommended me do:
    1.  Delete c:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Adobe\PhotoShop Elements\7.0\Organizer\OLS - to download online services information again and replace any corrupted information - did not work.
    2.  Create a new user account with Administrator privileges, logout, and log back in as the new user and start PSE to download online services information for the new user - also did not work
    3.  Uninstall PSE, reboot, re-install while logged in as an Admin user, and restart PSE - also did not work
Finally, the 2nd support technician I worked with concluded that the downloaded software was the common element that could have been corrupted and causing this issue.  I should be getting PSE 7 on a CD next week.  I will update this post with any progress I make and hopefully this will help others if they are facing the same issue.
Regarding McPap's comment about being in the UK and access to SmugMug, the support technician did ask me at one point to verify my location choice, as non-US locations do not have access to the full list of online services which includes SmugMug.  I do not understand the reasoning for this, but that is the way PSE works.

  • Upload to Flickr

When I upload to Flickr from the organizer in Elements 12, the upload stops prior to completion- I have Windows 7 and a good high speed internet connection.
    What to do?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Please try this:
    Close Elements Organizer
Go to :%appdata% > Adobe > Online Services and delete Photoshop Elements 12.0.0 folder
Now relaunch EO and see if it works.
    OR to make it easy:
In Organizer Go to Edit > Preferences > Adobe Partner Services > clear Online services Data  Click OK
    Relaunch EO

  • Aperture 3.6 Uploads to Flickr only at 72 dpi, not 300 dpi. Why?

Yesterday I upgraded to the new retina iMac (Yosemite 10.10) and updated Aperture to 3.6.  (Previous iMac had not been updated with Yosemite.)
With previous setup, I was uploading to Flickr albums at 300 dpi.
With new setup, photos upload at 72 dpi, including files that previously uploaded at 300 dpi.
I've tried Preferences > Export > External Editor File Format > 300 dpi.
I've also done Presets > Image Exports > changed all formats/sizes to 300 dpi.
FWIW, I can export from Aperture into Lightroom and upload to Flickr from there at 240 dpi.
    My question:
What setting am I missing in Aperture 3.6 so that photos upload to Flickr albums at 300 dpi again?

You should look at this thread Problem with Aperture 3.6 preset exports.
Seems Aperture has changed something since 3.6 that might be causing what you are seeing. The way Aperture is setting the JFIF x and y density settings has changed and they do not reflect the true DPI set on the file.
Don;t know if Flickr looks at those, something to keep in mind.
    regards
    <edit>
FWIW, I can export from Aperture into Lightroom and upload to Flickr from there at 240 dpi.
did you change the dpi setting in Lightroom?  You should look the the image in Preview BEFORE you import into Lightroom. Look at the JFIF settings. Then look again AFTER you export from Lightroom. Did the JFIF settings change?

  • Location data not uploaded to flickr ?

am i right in assuming that when uploading to flickr from iphoto, that the map places are not uploaded to flickr with the image ?
i tested one that has been placed on the map in iphoto, but when viewing the image in flickr there is no location info on the image.

I haven't started using "Places" yet (haven't assigned location data to any photos), so I can't answer for sure.
BUT, I did notice a preference ("iPhoto->Preferences->Web") called "Include location information for published photos". It defaulted to UN-checked when I first went to that preference page.
I'm guessing that if you check this, location data will be exported to flickr/facebook. Just a guess, though.

  • Lots of confusion uploading to flickr

I routinely upload to Flickr from each of my 5 Macs, and have seen messages in iPhoto that says certain sets are being removed from my flickr account. I suspected that this is because I upload from different Macs and the libraries are different. And the current iPhoto that I'm using is trying to sync it's library to flickr.
I do not want iPhoto to delete any sets like this, without my approval, so I removed the permissions from my account settings on the flickr page, in hopes that I could add them back with only write permissions.
There does not seem to be a way to do that, and now, when I try to upload from from one of the computers running iPhoto 9, it won't prompt to setup the flickr account..it just says :the login details or auth password were invalid".
On my one Mac that has iPhoto 11, it is prompting to setup the flickr permissions again, but it will not give options to allow only writing.... I don't want iPhoto to do any sync'ing in this manner (if indeed, that is what is happening)
So...I have 2 problems; 1. can't upload at all from my iPhoto 9 Macs and 2. Don't want iPhoto to delete stuff from my flickr account.
Flickr help/support referred me to Apple support...so here I am.
thanks to anyone who can sort this out for me.

You might try another ftp program, like Fetch. Make sure the settings are OK for iWeb, per this note:

  • How do I upload a photo from PS CS6 to flickr?

How do I upload a photo from PS CS6 to flickr?

You have to save it and either use the flickr uploader or do it directly from flickr
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/upload/
I like the Uploader tool from this link
    http://www.flickr.com/tools/
You just drag an image onto the desktop icon, and it opens the uploader.  You sort out sets, descriptions etc. before committing the upload.
But flickr has been ruined for me.  I HATE the new UI, and nothing works as well as it used to.
My stream can be found at
    www.flickr.com/photos/trevor-dennis/
But I seldom upload stuff nowadays.

  • Upload pictures directly from Bridge to Flickr or other photo sharing site.

Upload pictures directly from Bridge to Flickr or other photo sharing site.
But flickr is the most important. Many people are searching for a plugin or patch or something to be able to this.
Because of that many people are using Picasa because you can download a plugin for it and then with this plugin you can upload photos to flickr directly from picasa. Please make it also possible in Adobe Bridge.
I am using Adobe Bridge CS3 with latest updates.
    Thank you.

You could do it in CS3 but the option does not seem to apprea in CS4.  Very strange.  For CS3 go to Tools>Photoshop Services>Online Portfolios and Galleries>Share photos with flickr.

  • Why are my tags not being uploaded to Flickr with my photos

Hi. I have just spent days tagging my photos with people, places, and other tags in PSE 11 organiser and have just tried my first upload to flickr with a handful of images. The photos transferred over fine but none of the tagging seems to be appearing against each image although I can see it in the EXIF info. What do I need to do to get the tags over in a usable format. There is no way I am manually re tagging, adding descriptions, captions etc all over again in Flickr. Help please!

    Hi Barbara,
Thanks for the reply. I have written everything to the file, I did this before I uploaded. I can see the info in Flickr but its dead EXIF data which can't be seen easy or searched on in Flickr. I have been onto Flickr and they insist it is a fault in Photoshop Elements.
If I upload the same photos with the Flickr uploaded everything goes over to Flickr fine. It just seems silly that PSE 11 has a share mechanism which does not integrate properly.
    Cheers,
    Lynn

  • Error message end tag and start tags dont match when publishing to flickr from lightroom 5.3

I have had an ongoing problem that lightroom publishing to flickr times out frequently when uploading many photos.  However, for about the last week or two weeks i have been getting a different error message:
Error message: “Can’t update this collection.  An internal error has occurred:  End tag ‘body’ does not match the start tag ‘hr’.
    Windows 7 system.
I set up a photoset in lightroom (have tried both smart and regular photosets with same results).  These photosets can contain anywhere from 16 to 3000 or more photos. The first photos are uploaded – maybe 10, maybe 100, maybe 1000.  Then it generally seems to stop working.  Sometimes I can continue publishing new photos or republishing, sometimes I cant.  For example I currently have 11 flickr publish photosets in one lightroom catalog, with the following success numbers:
    NAHCR00 total 3044, published: 1851
    NAHCR01 total 748,published: all
    NAHCR03 total: 532 published: all
    NAHCR04  total: 412 published: all
    NAHCR05 total: 340 published: 152
    NAHCR07 total: 248 published: 50
    NAHCR08 total: 524 published: 197
    NAHCR09 total: 44 published: all
    NAHCR10 total: 40 published: all
    NAHCR11 total: 32 published: all
    NAHCR12 total: 124 published: 4
I have succeeded in uploading over 28000 pictures from flickr (mostly from three other lightroom catalogs to several flickr account, both paid and free).  The other catalogs marks the photosets as public  and generally seems to be more successful at uploading.
All of these problem photosets are marked as private so that only I can see them.  The  photos themselves have peculiar names including many special characters including chinese characters, arabic alphabets, spaces, commas, exclamation marks etc etc.  I tried telling lightroom to rename the files to names with no special characters but it still fails.
I emailed Flickr with the above information and this was their response:
Thank you for contacting Yahoo Flickr.
I would first like to apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced while attempting to upload photos to your Flickr account.
First, Lightroom is a 3rd-party application; we can't offer any support for it. Please contact the developer of that application for help.
With that said, please note that there's a known issue with Avast's Web Shield and AVG antivirus that causes issues with uploads. If you have either of these applications, disable the "Link Scanner", add Uploadr to the exceptions list, and then try to upload. If the issue persists, temporarily turn off the anti-virus / firewall and try to upload again.
Please also see the following article on Flickr's upload limitations:
    Flickr upload limitations
Lastly, here are some general troubleshooting steps that you can try:
Most connection issues arise due to a problem between your computer and Flickr and are often temporary. Try the following:
Briefly power off any broadband modems and routers to reset the network connection.
If you connect wirelessly, move your computer closer to the wireless access point, or 'plug in'.
If you're connected through a router, try plugging directly into the broadband modem.
See your manual for configuration options if the router is slowing or blocking uploads.
Also, try lowering your # or matching it to your ISP's value.
      Additional troubleshooting
Try uploading with an alternate method:The web upload page, the Uploadr app, or upload by email.
If you're using an older version of Uploadr, update to the latest version.
Search our forums to see if there are any specific network hardware incompatibilities.
I realize that this isn't a satisfying response to your request, and I am sorry for that. Please let me know if I may be of further assistance, or if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you again for contacting Yahoo Flickr.
    Regards,
    Elliot

I had the same problen with Lightroom 5 - Prepares the files but won't Upload to Blurb. Tried numerours times. It is a Landscape size Book 132 Pages. There is a BUG in Lightroom and here is how I got it to work:
Check each slide and make sure APPLY BACKGROUND GLOBALLY, GRAPHIC or BACKGROUND COLOR and not checked,. If so Uncheck them.
Go to EDIT and SELECT ALL Slides in the Book.
Select Apply Background Globally - turn it off and on several times, then leave it off
Select GRAPHIC - turn it off and then turn it on and off several times
Select BACKGROUND COLOR - turn it on then off then on then off
I ended up with APPLY GLOBALLY unchecked for Every Page.
GRAPHIC was turned on with a Graphic set at 12% Opacity on every Page
Again check each page first for these Checkmarks or just fix exverything with SELECT ALL.
    Background Color was Turned off.
NOW UPLOAD THE BOOK - It took a couple hours but it uploaded without a hitch., I turned off all Firewalls and Plugged directly into the Router. I am using an IMac 27" with 32 GB of memory and this is the only way it would work. The Mac is about 7 days old and Lightroom 5 is also 7 days old. BUGGIEST piece of software I have ever used.
Note - one of the above steps fixes the BUG - I am not sure which one but one will fix your book. It finally uploaded to BLURB today. It took a few hours though.

  • Lightroom 5.2\5.3 crashing after two uploads to flickr

    Hi all,
After getting a bit of a nagging from the in laws I got round to cataloguing the last few months photos to upload the pics of the kids.
When I go to upload to flickr it will publish two images then crash and the cycle repeats - having a few hundreds to upload there is no way on earth I'm going to babysit Lightroom while it does this.
I'm using jFlickr and have the most up to date version - although I was reluctant to mention this as I half suspect my issue will now be shelved using this as a get out - but frankly Adobe's offering is poor and presumes you've just started with Flickr.
The OS is Windows 8.1 64bit - LR 5.3 (same results on 5.1 and 5.2)
From the event logs I have the following errors:
    Faulting process ID: 0x1b04
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cf1b6ba0c459e7
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.2\lightroom.exe

Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.2\CameraRaw.dll
It them repeats through one of these three for each failure.
Thanks for reading and I hope someone out there has found a solution.

    Any ideas anyone?
Jeff suggested checking the integrity or a re-install - I have completely rebuilt the PC - so clean install plus totally up to date versions - I also check integrity when I backup and it always passes, in addition I cleared the prefs file (again Jeff's idea) but it still crashes, but only with his plugin.
Is there a way to rebuild the catalogue without loosing the settings?
Could it be because I recently converted to DNG?

  • Do I have to buy a new version of Photoshop Elements (have Elements 10) just to upload RAW files from my new Olympus E-M10?

I have Photoshop Elements 10.  It appears that I need a plugin to upload RAW files and the plugin necessary for my new Olympus E-M10 is not compatible with version 10.  Am I getting this right?  Do I have to buy a new version of Photoshop Elements just to upload RAW files from my new Olympus E-M10?  Otherwise, what I have is all that I need.

Which operating system are you using?
If your using mac os x 10.6 (snow leopard) or windows xp or vista, then the below solution will not work and you shouldn't try to install the dng converter 8.5
You could use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert your files to dng copies which should then open in pse 10.

  • Does Photos for OS X allow duplicate photo uploads to Flickr?  It used to check in iPhoto.

Does Photos for OS X allow for duplicate uploads to Flickr?  I liked the way iPhoto handled this better.
In iPhoto, if I uploaded a photo to Flickr, it wouldn't upload duplicates.
When I upload with Photos it will allow duplicate uploads.  Is this a bug?
    Thanks!

To date I have not found a solution.  If I do I will update.  Folks are trying to help though.  I am trying these items from another thread this weekend.  The first one seems to  have helped a bit.  I will update if I find something that works.
Here are the  items I am trying (from Old Toad on this post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7001536)
I you have iPhoto 9.6.1 or can download it from then App Store I suggest you do the following before converting the library to Photos.
1 - launch iPhoto with the Option+Command keys held down and run the following First Aid routines:
         a. Option #1, Repair Library Permissions
         b. Option #2, Rebuild Thumbnails
         c. Option #4, Rebuild Database
This will "clean" up the library to help insure a good conversion.  It might take a while to do those three routines but a clean conversion will make things go much better later on.
