Upload  to KM-Content fails

Hello,
I moved my Portal from a physical Hardware Server to a Virtual Machine.
Since this moment I can't upload documents from my local Workstation to the KM-Content.
If I try to upload e.g. a JPEG Picture I get a message that the request is going to be processed but nothing happen, not even a error message.
Excepting the automatically back navigating to the entry point from which I tried the upload of the document to KM-content
Any ideas?
Regards Mario

Hi Mario,
please have a look at the default.trc, that can be found under ..<SID>\JC<Instance ID>\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\ ,
for any error message that could explain the cause of this behavior.
You can paste it here, if you want.
Hope this helps,
Robert

  • Infopath 2007 "Updating Site Content Failed"

    I get this error for just about everything I do with the forms we are publishing via Infopath 2007.  I believe it is because our forms have a fair amount of Promoted fields in them (more than 30 each).
    I've seen this article and think that maybe it will alleviate the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/958139
    The problem is the hotifx that this references is not available for public download and when I try to go through the great new Microsoft Support site (piece of absolute ____) I am unable to get a phone number to call, submit an e-mail or anything without giving them a credit card for payment.  I do not intend to pay money to get the right to download or be sent a hotfix.
    Does anyone know if there is a way I can test to verify that I indeed "need" this hotfix before I spend money out of my pocket?
    The forms I have published to form libraries in MoSS 2007 Enterprise have many promoted fields.  I can create a new content type in the site collection via Infopath if I keep the promoted fields under about 25, however once I publish it I can no longer change the content type (get the "Updating Site Content Failed" message) and have to create a new content type to make changes to any form I have.  As you can imagine this is a problem as I have to constantly change the template url on my libraries and constantly re-link all of the saved forms in the libraries.
    Does anyone have any ideas how to realistically fix this outside of the hotfix?
    I've tried every method I can find on the internet, but nothing seems to work.

    A little more information.  On the server itself I don't show any indication or problem in the Event logs related to this issue.
    However, on the workstation that I am attempting to publish from (Same subnet, local Gigabit Connection) I get 4 MSSOAP Errors:
    Event Type: Error      Event Soruce MSSOAP
    Event Category: Generic   Event ID: 16
    Description: Soap error: Connection Time out
    I get two of those and two of these:
    Event Type: Error   Event Source: MSSOAP
    Event Category: General  Event ID: 16
    Description: Unspecified HTTP error.
    I went into the sharepoint central admin and changed the timeout value (which was 30 seconds) in the infopath forms section to 120 seconds and it hasn't made any difference.
    Edit:  Yes I have tried from multiple workstations.  We don't load office on the server itself or I would try from there as well.

    Any idea?

    Thanks to all. So "Key Field Name" is just symbolic?

  • Can't upload iPod Classic contents onto a new computer

    The PC that I had paired with my iPod Classic died.  I can't figure out how to upload the iPod's contents onto a new computer.  Is this possible?
    I also put a new CD on my Mac that won't sync with the iPod Classic.
    What am I doing wrong?

    I think the problem could lie with the sharing of the iTunes account. In itunes on your computer, under "Store", click "Authorize this computer" and login it using your brothers itunes account. Now try syncing the Ipod again and doing a FACTORY RESTORE of it

  • How to keep Uploaded file's content between calls-content is lost in region

    hi,
    UploadedFile content lost when saving to pageFlowScope.
    the use case is to upload a binary file into db. jdev 11.1.2.3
    i try to start from
    http://tompeez.wordpress.com/tag/affiledownloadactionlistener/
    and instead of making all the handling in inputFile's ValueChangeEventListener(),
    i'd like to split functionality between inputfile and a run button.
    user chooses a file using inputFile
    then in backingbean of the request scope
    UploadedFile file = (UploadedFile) valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
    Map<String,Object> pageFlowScope = adfFacesContext.getPageFlowScope();
    pageFlowScope.put("uploadedfile",file);
    in button's ActionEventListener i try to recall UploadedFile.
    Map<String,Object> pageFlowScope = adfFacesContext.getPageFlowScope();
    UploadedFile file;
    file=(UploadedFile)pageFlowScope.get("uploadedfile");
    what i found out is fileName=file.getFilename() still shows the original filename, but...
    file.getLength() returns 0;
    at the same time, when called from ValueChangeEventListener() file.getLength() gets the actual number of bytes
    what might cause the content to disappear?
    i tried to change backing bean's scope to pageFlowScope without any success

    This will not work as the stream will not be available after the request.
    You can set the value propety of the af:inputFile directly to the pageflowScopeBean like
    <af:inputFile label="File"
                                    value="#{pageFlowScope.fileData}" id="if1"/>
       private UploadedFile fileData;
        public void setFileData(UploadedFile afile)
            this.fileData = afile;
        public UploadedFile getFileData()
            return fileData;
    public actionListener(ActionEvent av) {
            // and in the action listener
            // TODO aktuelles bild kann nicht über getBildNr() geladen werden
            if (getBildDatei() == null)
                return null;
            UploadedFile file = getBildDatei();
            //work as usual
    }Be careful with putting the UploadFile in pageFlowScope as this scope is too broad. You should use ViewScope.

  • Http 401 error when uploading file to content services

    Hi,
    When i try to upload a document, the document is created in the folder with empty content and i have the 401 http error.
    Someone can help me to resolve thise problem.
    Thank's for advance.

    I found the response to the problem. I summarize the solution in the following point :
    1- when you connect to a standalone content services server via the webservices api, you get a single String as cookie and to upload a document to server you use the same single cookie.
    2- bu when you connect to cluster content services via the webservices api, you get an Array of String as cookies and to upload a document to server you need to transform the array of cookie into a single String cookie to be able to be authenticated by the http server, look to the following code
    String cookie="";
         for(int i=0;i < connection.getCookie().length;i++) {
              cookie = cookie + connection.getCookie() +";";

  • Sporadic issues uploading large dynamic content blocks using REST API

    I have been using calls to endpoints like https://secure.eloqua.com/API/REST/1.0/assets/dynamicContent/157 (where "157" is a content block ID) to update existing dynamic content blocks. This has generally worked well for about a month and a half. Starting Saturday morning around Midnight, though, the majority of these calls started failing, with socket error "connection was forcibly closed by remote host".
    That's the .NET verbiage; at a lower level, this is socket error #10054. When using CURL, I get the result pictured below:
    This is sporadic; over the course of today, maybe 25% of these calls have succeeded and 75% have failed. The calls are mostly identical. At other times, we've gone days, maybe weeks without an issue, and I figured that the isolated failures of this sort that we did get related to scheduled downtime, loss of connectivity, and other transient conditions.
    The payload (PUT data) I'm sending up is ~450KB of JSON. It contains the top-level details about the block itself, plus all of the dynamic content / rules criteria, including the default.
    At first, I wondered if some sort of weird character (ampersand, less than / greater than...) had entered my data, flowed into the API call unescaped, and created a problem (e.g. invalid JSON). However, I did some troubleshooting, and the failure we're seeing does not seem to correlate with the absence or presence of any one content / rule item in particular. Rather, it seems to be volume related, i.e. I can send any one of the rules I want to create, or just a few, and that will succeed. But I cannot send all (or most) of the rules at once without experiencing failures most of the time (lately).
    So, if there were a way for me to split up the creation of the block over multiple API calls (one call to create the block, another to add the default content rule, yet another for the first non-default content rule, and so on), I think that would work. I find no indication on Topliners or in the Eloqua API documentation to indicate that this is possible, though.
    It has occurred to me that we are over some API call threshold. I know that some Eloqua installations have a per-day API call limit as low as 20,000. My question is, what do I see when I exceed the limit? Do I get the "forcibly closed" error, or another error perhaps, or is my activity simply throttled by the server? And is there somewhere in Eloqua that I can see where I stand with respect to this limit?
    Finally, I know we've done some things recently that have increased our overall processing load on the Eloqua servers. In particular, a larger number of contacts than previously have been flowing in from our CRM system. One theory I had was that we're allocated a certain amount of total processing power, and that if we overload this capacity complex API calls are subject to timing out. (My communications timeout is set to 10 minutes, and the error message comes up after about 2-3 minutes, but I don't know what kind of timeouts Oracle might have set up on their own equipment.) That being said, my code needs to basically wait indefinitely for this data, and certainly not give up after 2-3 minutes. If there's a way to indicate this fact to Oracle, I'd certainly like to know about that.
    Thank you all for reading and attempting to help!

    Hi James,
    As far as I have been told (by Support) is that the API Limit is a soft limit that is not currently enforced.
    I have seen other API endpoints failing from time to time (mostly on the BULK API) and have had to write logic to redo calls that fail. My failures seems to occur primarily due to server load and I can force them by making allot of exports at the same time.
    In regards to the Dynamic Content Rules I think that you might be able to make the rules one/two rules at the time. What I would test is to make a Dynamic Content with only the default content. Then loop through your rules and only have new rules in the Rules section of the Dynamic Content.
    One more thing. Try using the REST/2.0 endpoint.

  • How is the upload/download file content area implemented

    Hello all,
    I have read that one content area4s purpose is to allow users to store documents. How is it implemented? I mean,
    How can a user upload/download doc to a specific folder? Should this functionality be implemented by us or does
    Oracle Portal provide any mechanism for doing this?
    Thansk a lot

    Beatriz,
    You can specify privileges on the folder based on users/groups. I am not sure I understand "I need to restrict its access just only to add element-"
    Are you trying to ensure that people can upload docs, but not make any style changes ? Right now, if you can add a document
    , then you can also delete it.
    Also, I have listed a few links below that you might find helpful.

    hth
    HEllo again,
    I have found that one way to do that upload is through 'add element' -->file item in the content area.
    We have a group-defined structure and I need to restrict its access just only to add element--> Is it possible?If so, how?
    What are the privileges I have to set to allow a user to add elements in a content area? At this moment we have:
    * In the content area access tab : user X-->Administer
    *iN THE page's content area, acces tab-->Manage
    If this userX connects and tries to edit the content area--> add element, the item list shows no value it4s in empty. What
    else steps should I follow.
    I would thank any idea

    Gordon,
    Yes, I tested creating this record manually in SBO and it worked.
    I then created this spreadsheet from scratch with the same values and it imported. I think the other excel (txt) was corrupted.

  • Distribute content failed on sccm 2012

    Hello all,
    As part of OS deployment, I first did a 'build and capture' a Windows 2008 x64 bit image (.wim) and saved it as part of a shared folder (with full permissions). Next, I wanted to create a 'Operating System Images' under 'Software Library' and was successfully
    able to add the .wim image previously created. Next, I wanted to 'Distribute content' to Distribution Point (DP) which happens to be the same server as my Site server and where my 'shared' folder is.
    As part of this 'Distribute content' when I check the 'content status' under Monitoring, I see the status in 'RED' (Failed). I checked the 'more details' on the error status and found this:
    Can anyone help me understand what is missing and what needs to be done. I'm also going through documentation to troubleshoot this. thanks

  • FTP Uploading Hidden Unix Files Fails

    This problem has existed every since I first tried to upload files on a Mac via FTP (at least to my linux webserver).
    It seems the hidden unix files used for indexing (or something) ( ie: ._ ) and exist for each file on the hard drive are the problem.
    In the past I just setup a filter on my FTP client to omit those files, and I've heard there is another setting on most FTP clients that will solve the problem, but I'm wondering if there is an operating system tweak I can do.
    I am trying to use the FTP client built into Adobe Lightroom, and it appears to be failing for the same reason, but I don't have any options to set that will fix it.
    Thanks a lot,
    DiFFeReN7

    On a Mac, I've tried CuteFTP, a free Mac FTP client
    and now the FTP client built into Adobe Lightroom.
    On a PC, I've tried CuteFTP, FlashFXP, FileZilla, and
    maybe another.
    On every single one I had to filter out those files.
    Unfortunately, Lightroom does not have that
    capability.
    I typically use ftp or sftp on the Mac and the same tools (via Cygwin) on the PC. There is also a nice open-source GUI for the Mac called Cyberduck.
    Still, I don't really understand your problem. I haven't had any such problems on a Mac since MacOS X.
    Yes, because Macs are not set to view hidden files.
    In unix, a period . before a filename makes it
    hidden.
    If I wanted to see them I would use the TinkerTool to
    display them.
    No. On a Mac, these ._ files simply do not exist. They are part of the HFS+ file system. You still have a few "traditionally hidden" files like ".DS_Store" and ".Trashes" but the "._" files are different beasts altogether.
    The only time you will ever notice these files is if you use access a non-Mac server such as Samba, WebDAV, or NFS on your Mac. Then, your Mac will try to "pretend" it really has an HFS+ file ssytem and create all those "._" files. All the other operating systems will be able to see them and their users will probably complain about Mac users messing up the servers. On a Mac, from the Finder, they will be hidden. On a Mac, using the terminal, you will be able to see them.
    These files might also appear when you create a Zip or Tar archive on your Mac. In these situations, the Mac tries to archive "all" the information and will create the "._" inside the Zip or Tar file. I have an older version of Tar that I keep around so that it won't do this.
    Are you trying to upload to an FTP server on a Mac? I have to tell you, I have never experienced any sort of problem like this. What you describe doesn't make any sense. You also say that it chokes on "._" files from you upload from a PC. Those "._" shouldn't exist on a PC. I'm really confused.
    Perhaps you should try Cyberduck or sftp.
