Upload to the Distribution Service

Hi
I try to upload our publication to the distribution service since yesterday at 6 O'clock which is for me now 17 hours.
Is it possible that this process is extreemly lame?
i let it load again after a flah plugin crash until i went home yesterday. this moring it just showed me a message that my session is closed.
the whole project is only about 340 Mb's. and it takes on every try very long to process the two stacks with the videos in it. they are about 130 to 140 Mb's.
Now the flash plugin crashed again. but this time on the 14th stack. which is the first big one. i refreshed it and it started again at the 10th. and then it made a jumPascal to the 20th and at this one it is hanging again.
this publication should have been online yesterday?
why is the new official DPS lagging like that?

I found out the following:
after a crash of flash i can't proper refresh the publication it starts and quit and does nothing. if i change it to a piblic publication and download it. it downloads the half....
still very annoying..

Problems pushing in app folios into the Distribution Service

Some insight would be greatly appreciated, I've searched for some answers but all mention things I've done and still have this problem:
I need to push four folios into the distribution service so an app that's already public and available will show the new publications, the product id is the same for all, the account that created them is the same, I don't get any errors when I click "update" in the Folio Producer site, but alas! they do not show up on the public app. They do show up on the Content Viewer app, though. All the folios are public.

Guys, problem fixed!
We were using the same folio name ( com.whaterverserver.foliopublication ) we were unaware that this name had to be different - our reasoning was that since it's the same app the same name would apply - so we just added some differentiators to the name and voilá! problem fixed.

Updated Distribution service infrastructure

Yesterday at 3:20PM PDT we flipped the switch to enable our new configuration for the distribution service. This effort involved several months of scoping, testing and rehearsing to ensure a smooth transition and the establishment of an environment that we believe will provide a significant performance boost for publishing and fulfilling content to consumers.
A grand total of 18 packets were lost in the transition and we have already heard of significantly faster publishing efforts. Folios that used to take over an hour to publish are now finishing in under 10 minutes. We are now feeding data to Akamai at 10x the speed we could in the past. This means that fewer users should be seeing timeout issues in their libarary and increased reliability of background downloads via iOS Newsstand, when publishers push new content live.
Adobe is firmly committed to the business of digital publishing and our primary goal is increasing customer satisfaction with DPS. Yesterday's rollout was the first of several high priority efforts under way to increase the horsepower that drives the internal machinery of DPS.
Please let me know if you encounter any stability issues and expect more great improvements in the upcoming months.

we are publishing daily issues, in the wortst case it took more than 30 minutes to put a publication with 40 articles online (portrait & landscape). the average duration was around 18 minutes 30 seconds and today we
completed the publication process in incredible 4 minutes and 27 seconds.
kudos to everyone envolved in upgrading the infrastructure.

Sharing folios through Distribution service?

I need to share a folio with a number of employees. This wasn't an issue last week but this week it seems folios with HTMLResources.zip files added will not donwload into content viewer from the Acrobat servers and display an error message shortly after the the free folio is actioned to download. To get around this I simply published it through the distribution service, set to private initially, and I was able to download the whole thing (and without sash) with no problems. Is it possible to get the distribution copy of the folio to other peoples content viewers without having to sign in on every one as me?

Private publishing requires that the user log in with the same credentials as the person that published. So, no...there is no way to share without handing out the credentials.
Sorry, what is the best way to sharing a folio (that is update every 2/4 days) with other 2 designers/editors and also with a client?
The client should see only the final result on ipad at every update. This work could have a long development for the zero number (30-40 days - is there a time limit for private publishing?)
1- the designers should login with the same adobe id? It's necessary.
2- to show the preview to the client the better solution is private publishing? (updated every xx days).
It could be a problem if the customer use the same login of the designers (but this is required for private publishing...).
What is the best and simple solution to work in a young-poor international team?

SAPGUI 7.10 - Installtion Server & Distribution Service

We have a working 6.40 installation server that uses the distribution service to install the GUI on systems without administrator access.
I'm now trying to set up the equivalent in 7.10 but having problems. I've configured the distribution service with the same accounts as we use in 6.40 so know they should work, but the installations on workstations fail as follows:

Question about the distribution of web service or servlet

Hello,
I don not know how to distribute a web servcie or servlet on the web server. I can only use this web service with the open state of the glassfish. If I close the glassfish server, the servlet cannot be accessed.
I just want the web service or the servlet to be disributed on the web server. Web service and the servlet are available when the web server is on.

Distribution Service: "Error occurred while loading an article."

Hi,
I am finishing a folio with 53 articles.
While uploading to Distribution Service I have got this message more than 20 times:
Every time after this message I need to start the publishing process again. The articles already send pass very soon and than it slows down and after one or two new articles the error occurs again.
So it took me 4 hours to publish a folio with about 140 MB!
This could not be a problem of my internet connection. It is very fast and absolutly stable.
What is the reason for this?

How can an iTunes Match user prevent songs from being uploaded to the iCloud?

Has anyone who is currently using iTunes Match found a way to prevent selected songs in their music library from being uploaded to the iCloud. I have a number of audio files that are hour long mixes, but aren't quite large enough to run afoul of the 200MB size limit. I'd like to keep using iTunes Match, but would like to prevent it from trying to upload any of these larger files. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Another oddity I just discovered is that if I turn on wifi hotspot on my phone and connect my iMac to my phone's 3G service then iTunes on my iMac will stream music just fine from iTunes match (yes, the music was only in the cloud, not on my drive).
I've tried everything I can think of to get iTunes Match to play tracks over cellular.. including totally deauthorizing all my computers and devices, totally removing all tracks my itunes match in the cloud and re-scanning/uploading everything. Purchased new tracks, and they won't play unless they are downloaded. But they will play just fine when previeing them for purchase in iTunes app.

I posted this once before back a couple of months ago and never did get it working.
I have an iPhone 4s and I purchased iTunes match about a year ago. My library was about 5,000 songs. I was able to use iTunes Match flawlessly on cellular or WiFi and play any of my music. Then I upgraded to iOS7, big mistake. Ever since that upgrade back in September, when I am on cellular I can only play music that was not matched but uploaded to the cloud. For example, when in my car I can play a live Phish show that I added to iTunes and that was uploaded to the cloud when I updated iTunes Match from my laptop, but I can't play the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers because it was matched and not uploaded.
I have reset the phone to factory and manullay installed my apps again. I have turned off match and reset my phone, crossed my fingers, etc...
What happens when I try to play a "matched album" on cellular, it acts like it is going to play but sits at 0:00 for about 20 seconds and then skips ahead and attempts to play the next track. Everything plays fine on WiFi.
Has anyone lese had this issue and if so any suggesttions? I am so frustrated with the whole experience right now. I just went to the support page to submit a ticket to Apple and apparently I don't have support anymore because I have the phone for a year. I don't what to do.

How to use the same services-config for the local and remote servers.

My flex project works fine using the below but when I upload my flash file to the server I doesn't work, all the relative paths and files are the same execpt the remote one is a linux server.

I think the problem is the line

but I'm not sure how to use the same services-config for the local and remote servers.

In Flex, there is feature that lets developer to put all service-config.xml file configuration information into swf file. with
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
IF
services-config.xml
have tokens in it and user have not specified additional
-context-root
and this swf file is not served from web-app-server (like tomcat for example) than it will not work,
Flash player have no possible way to replace token values of service-config.xml file durring runtime if that service-config.xml file have been baked into swf file during compilation,
for example during development you can launch your swf file from your browser with file// protocol and still be able to access blazeDS services if
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
have been specified durring compilation.
I dont know any better way to exmplain this, but in summary there is two places that you can tell swf about service confogiration,
1) pass -services=path/to/services-config.xml parameter to compiler this way you tell swf file up front about all that good stuff,
or 2) you put that file on the webserver( in this case, yes you should have replacement tokens in that file) and they will be repaced at runtime .

Unable to retrieve collections from the Search Service.

I have a user trying to upload a collection. She gets the
following error:
Unable to retrieve collections from the Search Service.
Please verify that the ColdFusion MX Search Server is
installed and running.
Obviously, I checked the service. It was running. I restarted
the service. That did nothing. I restarted all the CF services.
Didn't fix the issue. I also rebotted the server, not expecting
that to work. It didn't.
Checking the server logs, I see this:
The description for Event ID ( 105 ) in Source ( ColdFusion
MX 7 Search Server ) cannot be found. The local computer may not
have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to
display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the
/AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support
for details. The following information is part of the event:
ColdFusion MX 7 Search Server.
Also, after talking to my co-worker more, it turns out this
occurred right after she uploaded a new collection to the

Finally, there are some errors in the Verity service, and it
looks like the Verity service Verity K2Server (Version 2.20pr6)
points to D:\CFusionMX\lib\k2server.exe, which doesn’t exist
anymore because we’ve upgraded to MX7.I'm not sure if this is
an old service left over from before we upgraded from CFMX to
CFMX7.
We are running CFMX7 on a Windows 2003 Server SP1 if that
matters.

In the left hand panel of the ColdFusion Administrator expand
the Data & Services link. Then select the Verity K2 Server
link. Change localhost to 127.0.0.1 in the Verity Host Name

PO creation from EXCEL uploaded by a Gateway Service in UI5

Hi,
The business requirement is to create Purchase Order from Excel File, uploaded from the UI5 application and call Gateway Service to create PO in SAP ECC.
I am trying to achieve this with CREATE_STREAM method of DPC.
However, my concern here is that I get the STREAMed data in XSTRING format and I am having difficulty in converting the XSTRING back to the EXCEL format.
Am I following the right technique to achieve this or is there any better way to achieve this requirement in Net Weaver Gateway?

I did a test for uploading .xlsx file to UI5 APP and save the XSTRING data in db table in DPC( CREATE_STREAM), then read the content of table in DPC (GET_STREAM) .
In transaction code: '/n/iwfnd/gw_client' , click 'Response in Browser' button, the content can be read correctly and displayed in Excel, therefore I think the XSTRING data saved in db table is correct and can be converted to Excel data.
But when I using function 'HR_KR_XSTRING_TO_STRING' to convert XSTRING data to STRING data, the converted result could not be read correctly.
So there maybe another function can be used to read the content of XSTRING correctly,but I not found it.

Unable to upload files to wiki service

Hi, I tried today to enable the wiki service for the first time. Everything seemed ok—it turns on, I can log in, I can create wikis and files. However, when i attempt to upload a file the spinner continues forever and the file does not upload. Looking at /Library/Server/Wiki/Logs/coreclient.log shows an error (sorry I have to key this in, not copy/paste):
InvalidAuthenticityToken exception for request - CSRF token may be missing
This is followed by a bunch of debug output from Ruby, and then this:
ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken (ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken):
app/controllers/application_controller.rb:685: in `handle_unverified_request'
I didn't find any other references to these errors in some searches I did. Does anyone have an idea what is going wrong?
My server is 10.8.3, latest Server.app

Hi,
Firstly, please check Event Viewer and it should identify what's the reason cause IE crash.
Secondly, have you tried other browser for test to upload file?
