Upload Usage

My upload usage is very high.  Has anybody else had this problem?  If so, any advice about decreasing this usage would be appreciated!

Kind of an out of context question. Is there any other information you wish to share so answers can zero in?

  • Why is airplay upload usage so high? (using wireless speaker)

I have a iHome wireless speaker that I play using iTunes Airplay. It works fine but the upload usage is through the roof compared to the download usage (e.g. upload = 128KB/s, download = 7KB/s) - this seems strange, thought it should be the other way around, what am I uploading?  I've turned off all my iCloud settings, am not sending data back to Apple in iTunes so not sure what's going on - anyone else got any clues or knows how to fix this, it's chewing up my bandwidth usage big time.

Actually I figured it out - if you use the Apple Time Capsule as your internet server that seems to cause the upload usage, when I connected the speaker directly to the modem it is back to normal usage. Just thought I'd post this for anyone else who's had this issue.

  • Monitoring Internet Usage Per Computer

So my family is currently running into our ISP's cap for the second month in a row, and there are still like 10 days left in the month. >.<
There are several computer on the network, both windows and linux (mine being the linux computers). I am wondering if there is a way to monitor how much download and upload usage each computer is using so I can isolate the problem, and figure out what needs to be done.
I am hoping I can find a program that I can run on my computer which is on like 24/7, but if I will need to get a different program for the windows computer that will be fine.

I saw this mentioned in linux jornal: WebHTB. I didn't really read the article, but it lets you manage network bandwidth through a browser interface. I don't know if it's what you want, but have a look: http://webhtb.sourceforge.net/

  • Internet usage monitor software? widget?

In particular, I'm looking for a program that will measure download/upload usage. Our broadband access, Hughesnet satellite, has recently instigated a new policy of extended penalty for passing over one's usage limits (200MB per day for home edition). It's difficult at best to make out just what algorithm they're using in their program, and from what I understand the best way to maximize one's usage potential is to monitor it and spread it out over the hours (u.e. downloading 175 MB in one hour is more likely to cause them to throw the red flag than using 300 MB spread out over the 24 hour period. Any software (or widget?) that measures total MB download/upload (by hour, or even adjustable time frame)?
    Thanks, PM

I looked into this but don't see how to read/configure it. I assume it's under "network" but not sure how to check by certain parameter (hour, day, etc). "Data received" has an amount, and I see "Date received/sec." Can I configure that to show /hour?

  • BT say that Apple tv is eating my data allowance by 'uploading'. Are they right?

I assumed that when I was on my home network then I wouldnt be using my data allowance as I'm not 'uploading' to the net, just using the wifi capabilities. The same goes for my backing up to my NAS, but today I've been told by BT tech department that streaming data films / music that are on my ipad,  to apple tv, is uploading, and therefor counts towards my monthly data usage.
I've previously been told on this forum that backing up my NAS would not use my allowance, but now I'm not so sure.
Any help would be great as I'm going over my 40GB allowance every month.

    Hi all,
Apologies if I wasn't clear initially. When I say that the films / music are on my ipad I do mean physically stored on it.Here's part of what BT tech department have said.
"Having looked into this and on looking over your previous e-mails I can see that you use Apple TV and that you stream movies from your hard drive to your Apple TV.
This streaming would be classified as upload usage as you are uploading through your home network."
You need to find a new ISP. That's nonsense. Streaming from within your own network should in no way be classified as the same as downloading from the internet. Are you using BT's equipment for  WiFi or your own router?

  • QM-IDI : User QMIDI has no RFC authorization for function group QIRF

    Hi,
I am in the process of trying to connect from Labware LIMS to SAP ECC 6, specifically the quality module. The aim is to use Labware to connect to SAP via the QM-IDI interface to
    1) Download inspection lots from SAP
    2) Upload usage decisions and inspection lot results to SAP.
Initially I specified an account on SAP of the type 'Communications Data', however any time I tried to connect to SAP from LIMS via the interface with this account it gives an <i>'Incorrect Username/Password'</i> error in the trace logs. I then changed the account to a dialog user, which seems to be partially more successful, however the trace logs captures the following error 'User QMIDI has no RFC authorization for function group QIRF' when I try to connect from LIMS to SAP via the QM-IDI interface after changing the user to type dialog.
I would appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue.

  • Very slow speeds and ridiculous email and bill for...

    Hi
i have several issues. I have been a very satisfied customer for over 15 years until early summer of this year:
    1. My broadband speeds remain painfully slow despite 3 complaints and investigations. In fact my line is still connected to the test line as I was advised to do and I have never had a call back as promised.
    2. I have now received an email message to say I have used 90gb at a cost of £50. This is almost all uploads. i upload nothing and this figure is impossible. Until June my usage was quite small and I came nowhere near my limit on option 2. Nothing has changed with my usage since then. I do not download or stream films and do not upload large quantities. I probably would stream films, but the slow speed does not allow it.
    3. I spent over an hour on the phone trying to sort this out today, but was not helped by a succession of people who barely understood the situation and had even less understanding of customer service. I have now emailed, but have had a message saying it might be 72 hours before a reply.
Any advice would be really helpful as I am at my wits end
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ok....since the original post the problem has continued. I have spent literally hours on the phone to people who say all the same things and never come up with a solution.
The test results are below. I do not experience speeds as reported. And if I use another tester it correctly comes out as about 1 4 - 1.9. or even lower. The upload usage is still showing as high....but it is just not possible. I have now reset the hub wireless key, but I have not shared this with anyone in range. Apple TV is now disconnected after it was going to take 20 hours to download a film!
I am at my wits end with this and really do not want the hassle of changing provider but even after 20 years BT broadband I am so very close to that.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Our connection is horrible - if someone is on the computer and playing an online game, the Xbox is almost unplayable.
    Your help is appreciated.

Are these drop-outs taking place at a greater rate during the evening? Those stats look quite good and indicate you have room for better speeds instead of 3Mbps (7-10Mbps should be in the ballpark) but this could be a drop related to congestion if you're on a remote, or related to something else which we can work out using some logs from the modem.
For the horrible connection part, while someone is on the computer and playing Xbox is there any download activity taking place, or for that matter heavy uploading as in the case that P2P traffic tends to develop? Upload usage will cause a ton of latency and slow the connection down, but heavy download usage on the Juniper routers can create some nasty latence as well.

    Correct.
On an iOS device, new photos you take will be automatically uploaded to your photo stream when you leave the Camera app and are connected to Wi-Fi. Note: My Photo Stream does not push photos over cellular connections.

  • Upload Role Usage is failing

This was fixed in SP15.3 (so says SAP). We are on SP 16.0 on ERM and this issue is still a problem.  When I use the upload role usage function, using the downloaded template, only 18 of 800+ rows in the xls file get loaded into the VT_RE_ROLE_USG table. I did not notice this until SP16.0, will I be forced to go to 17?  or is there a work-around?

more info:  the VT_RE_USR table is being populated correctly (325 users) however the VT_RE_USG table stops at 30 rows. Does not seem to matter the sort order in the xls, still stops at 30 rows. the  VT_RE_USG table entries are the bottom 30 rows of the xls....ignoring the remaining 900 rows (930 rows of data total). The xls template is an actual xls (excel 2003 format, all cells formated GENERAL, so the dates are excel dates.  The other oddity in the VT_RE_USG usage table is the LASTEXEC column is null, but if you leave it blank in the xls, it does import at all.

  • Usage of sequence for uploading data into tables(column store) using CSV

How to make use of sequence when data is uploaded into table(column store) with the CSV file ?

    Hi Sharada,
You may have to follow the below steps:
    1) To load the data from flat file to a Staging table using IMPORT command
    2) You have to call the procedure to load the data further into final Table.
    a) Have a look on this procedure to load data :
SAP HANA: Generic Procedure using Arrays to Load delta data into Tables
    b) See my reply on the syntax on how to use "Sequence"
    Auto-Incrementor in stored procedure!
You will have to ensure that you frame your insert query in such a way to have the sequence number in the target table.

Problem 1:  import statement isn't being added automatically, nor can it be found.  Any ideas as to the formatting of the import statement from the incoporated public part of the DC?
The library doesn't seem to be available via any of the standard paths.
Does anyone have an example code snippet with the library import statement and the read from the IWDResource into a workbook object?
Thanks for any assistance, the blogs and pdfs regarding  fileuploadui don't address this info.

    Hi Michael,
I believe the jxl jar file not been imported properly you need to re-import it, and then
Repair your project by right clicking on your application,
As per as lib is concern just click Navigator prospective, there you will see lib folder
and can import required jar file.
I hope it will solve your problem.
