Upload without compressing

I have a 110 MB FCP movie file. I want to upload the whole file to vimeo, but am unable to do so in this format. I am unable to export this into another format, it seems, without compressing it.
Could someone please tell me how to convert the entire file in order to upload it in its uncompressed form. Thank you..

I used QuickTime Player for the example above.
File > Export > Movie to QuickTime Movie and selected H264 from the Options button.
You could also use Compressor, MPEG Streamclip, Autodesk Cleaner -there are quite a few apps that will do this. Some of which you already have in QuickTime Player and Compressor.
What you need to do is go to vimeo.com and find out what they accept.
Don't get too hung up on how many MB the file size is, the beauty of H264 is that it can produce wonderful results at relatively small file sizes.

  • For iTunes Match, how come some songs "match" on an album and other songs on the same album "upload" without matching?

For iTunes Match, how come some songs "match" on an album and other songs on the same album "upload" without matching?  All songs are available on iTunes.  I don't get it!  Any way to manually match songs that iTunes apparently can't match?  I have hundreds in this unmatched state.

You aren't comparing like with like.
The main task that Shazam has is to identify the name or a track and the artist. I believe that it suggests the album as well, but if it gets that wrong then it doesn't really matter too much.
With iTunes Match, getting the album (i.e. identifying which version it is) is much more important. If it gets that wrong then it breaks up the flow of an album. This makes the task that match has very much harder.
In fact, there is a strong argument to say that currently the problem iTunes has is that it is matching too many songs, resulting in matches from different albums.
I'm sure that match is not struggling to identify whether it has a song or not, but whether it has the correct version of a song. When you introduce different masterings into the process then, depending on the thresholds set, it is probably correct in concluding that it hasn't got a particular version, even if you think it has.
The solution would appear to me to be a tweaking of the matching thresholds along with the ability to force an upload, but we just don't know what restrictions they have (remember that if Shazam gets it wrong the it doesn't present you with a copy of a new track that you didn't have previously). It is almost certainly not just a case of improving their technology.

  • Is there a way to make a long clip into a short clip without compressing it any further?

Is there a way to make a long clip into a short clip without compressing it any further?
I went through all my old formats (VHS, hi8, miniDV, etc) and captured them. They end up as .mov files. Some of the longer 2hr ones are about 28GB.
If I am making a new project and I want to edit in short clips from several of these longer files, is there a way to save a short clip from an existing file without compressing it any further?
In other words, lets say I have 10 2hr files, but I know I only want 1 minute from each. Is there a way to select the good 1 minute from each .mov file that I want to use and a version of this 1 minute from each in the folder I am working on the project in, without compressing them??? I like to keep all of the content I am working with on a project in its own folder in case the project needs to be moved from one hard drive to the next while I am working on it. I would hate to have to make a folder that is 280GB or more when I only need a minute from each larger file.
I hope I have asked this in a way that is understandable. Maybe there is a term for what I want to do, that I don't know yet that has its own help section too.   Thanks for any assistance

Thanks Jon - That's kind of where I started, but the part of that I need help with on is the second to last step.
"Export using a codec that matches the source material. "
The codec they were captured in is .mov at DV quality, but then after picking .mov, there are so many other options to choose from as far as compression goes from sound quality and settings, to how many passes, etc. I just want the new clip to be of the same quality as the original clip. It looks so complicated and its not clear to me what options to pick to match the original.
Is there a setting or preference that helps you to match the compression settings of the original clip? Or is there  a way to detect the settings of the original clip so I can repeat that in the shortened clip??

  • All of a sudden I am unable to attach a file to my email without compressing

All of a sudden I am unable to attach a file to my email without compressing. The email will show no attached file and then freezes and I am unable to add any content to body of email or change any of the content. I have to just delete the email and start over. If I zip the file it will show up in the body of the email and I am able to add content and send the email. This just stared happening, I had not changed any preferences or anything so I have no idea what happened.

  • Uploading without  recording

    hi all,
i have a flat file which has to be uploaded into a ztable. i have to upload without any recording as there is no transaction for it. Pls let me know the steps.
    regards,
    karthik

To update the ZTables. You need to do four things
1.Define the internal table of type your Z table.
DATA: itab type standard table of Z table
2.1. Upload your text file into the internal table using
    FM GUI_UPload
here the filetype is 'ASC' as it is a text file
    3. Validate your data in the internal table with the validations in the Z table. This could be like primary key validations or some fields must be having some check table attached or even date validations.
Otherwise invalid data is going inside your table
    loop at itab
    Validations for all the fields
    endloop.
    4. After the validations Lock your table and then modify the table
    call function ENQUEUE*TAble
    MODIFY Z TABLE from itab
    call function DEQUEUE TABLE
    Hope this helps

  • How to send an attached folder without compressing?

When using Mail 2.1.3 on 10.4.11 and sending more than one photo, I like to put them in a folder, so they get better organized. However, the application Mail will zip this folder on sending. Sometimes my recipients (on PC) have then difficulties opening this zipped folder. I don't want to tell them "you should install this and that application for unzipping".
In settings of Mail I find no checkbox for this- it does it by itself...
Is there any way to send an attached folder without compressing it, just plain?

    Frederick,
    thank you for the reply.
Maybe I did not explain clearly enough. Let's say I have ten JPEGs. I make a new folder in Finder, call it "Pictures" or so, put the JPEGs in it and then, after writing the mail, I click "attach" and select the newly generated folder so that it will be attached. In the outgoing window of the mail I see it then as the "Pictures" folder. The recipient then gets the mail with an attachment called "pictures.zip" that calls for an unzip application in order to take a look at those JPEGs.
Now the problem is, Mail app will automatically make a zip out of it. Yes, I have "Send PC-compatible" turned on. I use, b.t.w. plain text, not formatted. Some recipients have no problems with the zip, I know, but some do have.
I want Mail to send the folder without zipping it. Making it a little bit smaller in size is (indeed only a little bit!), in many cases, not necessary and, like I wrote, often only confusing (especially when the recipient PC asks "...this is a programme, do you want it to open?- Of course, most reasonable users are afraid of those messages!).
The point is, my application is doing something that I don't want and I find no way to tell it "please, no".

  • Which audio format is closes to CD without compression

Which audio format is closes to CD without compression?

Standard audio CDs are only 16-bit PCM at 44.1 KHz sampling rate so there's no point in ripping them at a higher bit depth even if it possible by some third-party software. iTunes will not. If you have other sources for tracks in higher than CD quality (there are some sites that sell in 24-bit quality, and some professional audio apps will do higher bit depths, you'll need to see if any third-party software for iOS can handle that quality; I don't believe that the Music app will.

  • Exporting song to disk without compression...

if i export a song into disk without compression the file becomes a AIFF stereo 16bit/44,1kHz?
If so I need then to convert it into WAV and i'm trying audacity...
is it just me or it seems that the resulting file sounds worse than the same into AAC 128 KBPS??
how can it be if it's almost 10 times bigger????
    thanks!

An AIFF to WAV conversion shouldn't degrade the quality since they are both uncompressed formats. Have you tried doing the conversion in iTunes?

  • How to add a file to jar without compression using JarOutputStream

    Hi,
I just want to know how to add a file without compression to a jar using JarOutputStream. By default the file is compressed when you add it to the JarOutputStream. This option is present when you create a jar using command line mode using the jar tool. Is there something like that in JarOutputStream.
    Thanx in advance.

  • How do I upload video from iphone to Mobileme WITHOUT compression?

  • APERTURE users: how do we send full size images without compression? Mail compresses, Drop Box, all that have a tag "badges" next to JPEG under 'Info' in Aperture compress? What can I do, HELP Please.

In Aperture under INFO at bottom it says Badges; if it has an Icon in the block it compresses JPEG image down to KB? Using mail, using drop box with my Aperture and can't figure out how to get rid of 'Badges with the Icon in the box to be able to send full size. Also have been using: "onOne Software" an add on editing program thats awesome, works as a stand alone, Aperture, & Lightroom.
Bottom Line I can't send to lab my web page, or individule without it compressing. Even created a desk top folder droped & dragged in ZIP & still Compression?

See this link:  Aperture 3 User Manual: Understanding Badge Overlays
The badges in the Info panel have nothing to do with compression. The tell you, if your image has keywords attached, if it is a raw or jpeg image, if has been externally edited, or if it is referenced.
When you send an jpeg using mail, you need to set the image size in Mail to "Acual Size", otherwise will Mail compress the image.  For example:
If you have really large images, Mail may not be optimal, because the server of the recepient may refuse to accept large Mail attachments.  In that case export the image from Aperture in the resolution you want with "File > Export" and compress it as a zip file. That will not reduce the quality.
Send the zipped file, if it is small enough, otherwise upload it to an ftp-server.
    The receiver can uncompress it.

  • What is the best way to import pictures from iPhoto without compression?

I'm trying to create a slide show using Final Cut Pro. No, I'm not interested in using iDVD slide show function because it doesn't allow me to do a whole lot. I would like to add titles and music for certain segments with video inserted here and there.
Anyway, when I used the slide show function in iPhoto, exported it out as a quick movie file, and then imported it into Final Cut Pro, I noticed a significant downgrade in quality of images. It obviously looks different from when I play the slide show in iPhoto. What would be the best way to import pictures into Final Cut Pro without any compression?
    Thanks in advance.

I only see Share > Export.
Some versions of iPhoto work that way -it's just Apple moving things around.
what's the difference between exporting it from iPhoto then import it into FCP vs. just importing directly from FCP?
Your first post mentioned exporting a slide show from iPhoto -I assumed that is where your images are stored.
I do not want to import pictures one by one...
You don't have to. iPhoto will let you select as many as you want, or if the images are elsewhere, you can also select multiple files from FCP's Import dialog.
    ...and stick them together manually.
Editing is an art and involves some effort on your part. It is not an automated process. This method opens up far more possibilities, access to filters and color correction and the opportunity to use Motion for even more sophisticated animation.
But, it only allows me to export it as 720 x 480. The original size of my photos is 3872 x 2592. Is there any way I can create a quicktime file in the original size?
You should be aware that 3872 x 2592 is not a standard pixel aspect ratio that is used in video. The images will be resized to the Sequence settings that you set up in Final Cut Pro.
I have never used iPhoto to make a slideshow before, but I just gave it a try and was able to export one with the images in their native size, simply by typing the pixel dimensions into the boxes in the dialog window:
I don't have PhotoMagico myself, but it comes highly recommended by several of the forum regulars.
Perhaps one of them will see this discussion and help with your last question.

  • How to Upload without creating a "Site"?

Hi, is it possible to upload a page to my server using FTP without creating a "site"?
For example: I created an .htlm page on my desktop named "Site Maintenance" to use when my site is down. This page is not part of a "Site".
I connected to the server using FTP and I just want to be able to "Drag" the page into the "Remote Sites" panel but how do I do this?
When I have a "Site" created, I click the small icon called "Expand to show Local and Remote Sites" and it opens the Local and Remote sites window, but is there a way to open the "Remote Sites" window so I can upload a single page? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I did not ask the question correctly so I will try to explain it better.
What if I want to use the FTP client inside of Dreamweaver to just connect to my server. I can connect to the FTP (see image) but how can I drag a folder from my desktop into the server using Dreamweaver?
I have downloaded a folder and I need to add it to my blog which is only on my server. I do not have a Dreamweaver site. Surely Dreamweaver isn't that archaic that you can't upload a file or folder to a server without having to create a site first. It was so much easier in GoLive.

  • Is GL balance upload without specifying a tax code for expense GL possible?

    Dear SAP guru's,
We have an expense GL account for which " input tax allowed" is selected but " posting without tax" is not selected.
This means that we need to enter tax code when posting a transaction with that account.
But when balances were loaded using BAPI in the GL account without specifying a tax code, the balances go loaded successfully.
There is no tax code in the document.
    How did this happen?
When I tried posting a GL document manually it gave an error asking for tax code.

    Hi,
Check the changes done in gl master data tab in FS00/
Uploading the data through BAPI there may be any coding related to this check with your abaper once.

    Sankar
