Uploaded through Bridge CC photos from my camera; went through the motions, not paying attention, but it did NOT save 'em where I usually save 'em; how can I ask Brindge or just the Mac Finder the last files I downloaded & where I saved 'em too? Oh, yeah, it ERASED the photos from my camera. I basically just need to ask my Mac (OS 10.8) where I downloaded 'em to. Thanks!

Uploaded through Bridge CC photos from my camera; went through the motions, not paying attention,
I'm not sure I do follow this, what do you mean with motions? can you specify this?. I assume you used Photodownloader? BTW, Not paying attention is usually not the best way when importing images...
but it did NOT save 'em where I usually save 'em; how can I ask Brindge or just the Mac Finder the last files I downloaded & where I saved 'em too?
When you import files they are written to your disk and therefor no need for save them, the files are already at your disk or written to the location you choose as destination. You could select your computername in the navigation column and then use the list view and choose the column last modified but this is not always showing the correct result. You could also do a spotlight search (or use the free Easy Find you can download from Devon) and choose to search for the extension you have shot your files in (Raw, jpeg??) and then choose modification date to sort.
There is not a log (at least not to my knowledge) that keeps track of all of your movements unless you have installed such application (don't know if there is one but I think there will be a thrid party or script written by someone). You could try Console (in the utilities folder) that holds your logs and reports but this is usually for crash or forced quit situations.
Oh, yeah, it ERASED the photos from my camera. I basically just need to ask my Mac (OS 10.8) where I downloaded 'em to. Thanks!
Well, this would mean you would have first select the option to do so in Photodownloader. While I use PDL on a daily base I always thought this option should not even be present to choose and you certainly should not use it to delete originals.
Like Curt already stated you have to use the camera software for this with the card in the camera. Either delete but preferable format the card. Mind you, this should not be done before you are sure where your files are written to and after you have checked randomly to see if the previews have build correctly for the newly imported files. Then you should make a back up of those files and only then start thinking about erasing or formatting the card for new use.
If you have not done very strange things (like choosing the card as destination but if so they might still be there- check finder in column mode- or wrote them to an external disk - where they also still should be) the files should be somewhere at your system. Just do an extensive search and if the files are really important check for recovering software for your card.
And follow the steps described above for importing, sometimes we need to learn our lessons the hard way (and I have been there too...)

How to transfer photos from a camera chip to my Mac Pro Desk Top?

Take the memory card out of the camera and insert it into a card reader then use Finder to copy the iomages over to a folder on the Mac desktop.
Basically the exact same way you would do it on any make or model computer.

  • I want to store photos from my camera on to the I pad on holiday is 2.3gb storage enough

I am off n holiday and plan to take loads of photos I would like to down load from the camera into the I pad . I have looked at the I pad and it says I have 2.3 gb of storage will thus be enough as I am worried I will run out . I also wanted to download some simple games to play when there as well.

I think the idea of transferring pictures from your camera directly to an external hard drive and then view them on your ipad through the camera connection kit is a great idea but I don't know if that exists. Someone else here might help you there.
First, if you plan on taking hundreds or thousands of photos 2.3 gb probably is not enough space. Assuming you're trying not to have to take a laptop with you, would you consider buying a wireless external hard drive such as the Seagate Go Flex, the Seagate 1 tb wirele$$ mobile hdd with built-in wi-fi. There are also other brands with different amounts of space that will also work with the ipad. With one of these you can store all of your files currently on your ipad on the wireless external hd to free up as much space as possible on your ipad so you can transfer pictures from the camera to the ipad through the camera connection kit.
You can also upload games, ibooks, movies, music, itunes playlists, etc. to the wireless external hd from your computer before you go and play, view, etc., them on your ipad as you travel while keeping your ipad free to store your pictures. Be sure to back up your ipad and all contents before you leave for your trip. Then when you get home you can sync all of your pictures to your computer and put back onto your ipad all of your content saved on your computer.
Personally, I'd also keep the filled sd cards as security in an sd card holder in a safe at your hotel, just in case... They often go on sale in larger stores. I've bought many extra 8 and 4 gb sd cards when they are on sale at Best Buy (the 8 gb are usually $24.99 and I get them when they're $9.99.)
At least consider a wireless external hard drive. Check gb space and price, read reviews, then decide, and have a great trip!

  • Uploading photos from iPhoto to something on the internet, not facebook

I am trying to upload photos to an internet site like shutter fly, walgreens.  The photos are greyed out.  How can I upload these?

    Yes you can.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • How do I move photos from my camera roll to the library on ipad 2

ok I want my photos to be in the library and they only show up in camera roll so when I am on Facebook and want to add a status photo I click on photo and it says choose from library and then when I click on camera roll it closes so I have to get them into photo stream. instead of camera roll.

Copy them from your iPad to your computer and then sync them into your photo library.

  • Can't download photos from my camera into Elements 9.0

Have Elements 9.0 which I just installed in October.  I cannot download photos from my camera .  On the ORGANIZE workspace I see no FILE, Get Photos, Help, Edit or even how to download the patches to make it current 9.0.  I seem to be missing some critical menu's.  I used Elements 4.0 for a number of years and it worked just fine.  I've wasted a lot of time and it is not clear to me that the situation I have has ever been encountered by anyone else.  Any help would be appreciated.

Good questions and thanks for trying to help me out.  I’ve evolved through part of my problem but I know more than I understand.  Here is what I’ve done and what I’ve observed:
    1.  The menus in the top row left side are missing.  That is FILE, EDIT, FIND, VIEW, WINDOW and HELP are nowhere to be found.  The right side of the top row is OK (Sign In, Create New Adobe ID), Undo, Redo, Display, Home and –?X)
    2.  I then installed Elements 9.0 on my wife’s new Window 7 computer.  It looks just fine.  Everything is as it should be.
    3.  I had an idea a shifted the my computer from medium (125%) fonts to small (100%) fonts.  Everything looks fine.  I went and rechecked my wife’s notebook and it has medium (125%) fonts.  So my Windows computer with 18” monitor will not display PSE correctly at 125% but my wife’s notebook will!  It is hard to read, I’m 75, but it works.
    4.  I have no idea what causes the problem but I can use PSE just fine if I don’t mind straining to read.  So it looks like I have a solution to my original problem.
    5.  I tried to email a photo from each computer and that doesn’t work.  Separate problem and I find that others have had the identical problem.  At least I can describe the problem well enough to find all sorts of responses on the Internet.
Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

  • How do I get photos from the iPhoto import folder to the iPhoto library?  It uploaded, but hung while deleting from my camera, so no imported photos are in the iPhoto library.

How do I get photos from the iPhoto import folder to the iPhoto library?  It uploaded, but hung while deleting from my camera, so no imported photos are in the iPhoto library.  I watched it upload about 400 photos, one by one.  They're somewhere, but they don't appear in the iPhoto library. As iPhoto was deleting them from my camera, it got hung up, then a message came "you should eject before disconnecting a device."  I hadn't touched the camera.  The message came by itself.  I couldn't get iPhoto to respond, so I disconnected the camera and did a Force Quit.  Opening it back up, the pictures were gone.  Can somebody help me?

What version of iPhoto are you running?  Assuming it's iPhoto 9 or later Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • TS3989 I have automatic upload etc. turned on in my iCloud and Photostream but after having just uploaded new photos from my camera to my MacBook Pro, none are getting into. My Photostream, either on my iPad, iPhones or Apple TV. Any suggestions?

I have automatic upload etc.  activated in Photo Stream.  I just uploaded new photos from my camera to my MacBook Pro, but nothing is sowing up on my iPhones my iMacs iPad or on Apple TV.  Does anyone have. Any suggestions as to what I can. Do?  I am currently on permahold with. apple Help.
    THANKS!

My eyes just glazed over...Please in the future break down each of your issues with paragraphs separated by two carriage returns. It would be much easier when trying to address your issues.
Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.
Secondly, this is not the place to vent. If you have a complaint, there is:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    or http://www.apple.com/contact/
We are just end users here helping other end users.
Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.
    Good luck!

  • I recently re-loaded iphoto, and now am unable to upload photos from my camera - saying there is insufficient disk space

I recently re-loaded iphoto, and now am unable to upload photos from my camera - saying there is insufficient disk space. does anyone have a solution?

Assuming you have space on your disk, then it could be a symptom of a damaged Library.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

just installed icloud onto window 7 pc and only a few photos from ipad came through to Photostream why dont they all come through?

WOW! That font is difficult to read. But, see if this support document helps you http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989. Photos stream is based on date and photos more than 30 days old are removed. Photostream is designed as a temporary storage to allow you to download the photos to the computer.

  • I can longer upload my photos from my camera, after 10.6 update. Unreadable

I used to connect my camera, and iPhoto would open, show the photos in boxes, I would hit Import All, and BAM! It was done! Now, when I connect my camera and iPhoto opens up, the boxes show up with no pictures inside, and if I hit Import All, it goes really fast, but doesn't really import anything. Says, Unreadable Files. But the files are .JPGs. I don't understand! What do I need to do?

Yes that is a toughie. Plug it in to the Mac. Put your camera's card in it.

    You're welcome.

I have never seen a USB Card Reader. That's why I asked. Remember, despite being consumers with the same computer, we're not all blessed with all the ways of the computer world. Second, the "crap" response was to the fact that I don't want to have to use a stupid card reader to pull my photos from my camera to iPhoto. Never had to do it before, don't want to have to do it that way from here out. My thought was that a Mac just "works." So, when I plug in the USB for my printer, it just works. And when I mount my camera, the pics show up, ask me to import it the way it always has, and imports. Easy. I didn't imagine upgrading to Snow Leopard would cause things like this that no one can help me fix, other than giving me band-aids like puling the pics off with an auxilary device.
It wasn't meant to be smarmy or arrogant, it is a frustrated comment. Another problem happened yesterday by which iPhoto wouldn't even open. Said the disk was locked, and I didn't have access to the library. Wow. And yes, I repaired and verified permissions after I upgraded. I rebooted the computer, came up like a charm.

I have a Nikon d610 and am using PS CS6. I am unable to download my raw files through Bridge on my mac. I have downloaded the most recent Camera Raw files - 8.7.1 - what should I do next.

The D610 needs ACR 8.3 so you are easily covered there.  I am not entirely clear on the process you are using the bring the files onto your hard drive.  The safest way is to simply bring all the NEF files into a folder on your hard drive, then find them with bridge and open from there.
If still stuck, open Photoshop, and go Help > About plugins > Camera RAW and check that 8.7 installed OK.

I am no longer able to upload photos from iphoto to Facebook. The "publish" button is now "grayed out."  Any suggestions?

The window doesn't automatically pop up now. When you plug the card reader in, you should see a 4th option on the lower bar of the photos app. I think it says camera. Tap on that then you can see and inport your photos.
If you are still having issues, try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again. It won't hurt any data but can clear gliches.
