Uploading a taxonomy structure - mapping
I am trying to map fields to load a taxonomy structure.Since the fields to be mappped do not exist in the destination, i wanted to add them from the source, but the ADD button is greyed out.
please let me know

Hi Nadine,
While doing taxonomy or hierarchy import, when you have created taxonomy or hierarchy on the source you need to go in the MAP FIELDS/VALUES tab you have to select the entire branch in the SOURCE VALUES tab then right click >> add as child or add as sibling, you can select the option right for you, once you have done that the taxonomy will be created on the DESTINATION tab.

then I believe value mapping is the only one that XI supports. plz correct me if I am wrong.

I have all of a suddent started getting a runtime error on one section of our portal (EP7 Stack 11). Basically the error is:

Now this has only just started to happen and the iview is just a KM iview pointing to a taxonomy structure.

Copying taxonomy structure and queries?
Is it possible to duplicate an existing taxonomy and get all query rules to be copied with it?
This is for me to try something new in a taxonomy structure without messing with the existing taxonomy. I need a quick clone.

Yes you can copy the existing Taxonomy Structure;However there are certain limitations involved in this.
Create a different Taxonomy(under the same index) and copy the existing structure under this new taxonomy.

That´s it.
I wanna equalize an uploaded rhythmic audio structure with an Logic-created beat. F.e., the audio sound could be the sound of a watch having 60bpm normally, and the Logic-beat has 80bpm. How do I get both to the same bpm? Thx for any useful answer.The MIDI data is in your Boss machine. There is no MIDI in Logic to pull audio from your drum machine. Once Logic is slaved you have three options. 1. Realtime record two tracks of audio into Logic from your drum machine. 2. If your drum machine can actually generate musical parts on independant tracks like my old Boss DR-5, then you can record separate tracks into Logic one at a time by muting all but one track for each recording. 3. You could record MIDI from your DR880 into Logic. This is the best option since you can record all channels in one pass and then edit parts in the matrix editor, where you can monitor individual notes or requantize as you see fit. Also, once the MIDI recording is complete, you no longer have to sync Logic to your drum machine. Logic will play the recorded MIDI data back through your drum machine. If you create new tracks in Logic like vocals or adding a new instrument, then you may wish to change part of the DR880 beat to complement the new recordings. You won't have this option unless you record MIDI first, edit all tracks together in Logic, and then bounce to audio after all editing is complete. When recording MIDI from your DR880, make sure you set up new external MIDI tracks in Logic. Make sure to create one track per MIDI channel coming from your BOSS.
Record arm the new MIDI tracks in Logic and then you are ready to do your MIDI recording of all tracks in one pass. -
Display Taxonomy structure in an iView?

I have created a Taxonomy structure which clasifies documents for some of our users. However I want to display that structure in an iView so they can navigate through the documents easily. I have tried creating a Link iview with the location pointing at my repositry but that does not show the structure and I have tried pointind the iview to the taxonomy structure but I get an eroor saysing it can't find it and I need to check my repositories?

the "Taxonomies" iView as well as the "Entry Points" iView are both iViews based on the component "com.sap.km.cm.navigation".
So actually what you need to do is to create an iView from the template "KM Navigation iView". For "Path to Initially Displayed Folder" and "Path to Root Folder for Navigation" you'll have to enter "/taxonomies/<YOUR_TAXONOMY>". As "Layout Set" you can set "ConsumerExplorer" and as "Layout Set for Root Collection" the "EntrypointExplorer" like in the "Entry Points" iView.

1.I have created a website in which files for that site are stored in particular folder hierarchy under contribution folders.I am using site studio publishing utility to publish to subscription client which publishes the site to target folder.It is publishing as per the weblayout structure without the taxonomy . I want to customize the publishing process to publish the site with its folder hierarchy.
2. I need to publish metadata to database using site studio publishing utltity.How it can be done.
Please provide your suggestions.There is a way of creating the Folders structure via a file.
If you go to the Fodler administration page and 'export' the folder structure content server will export the structure as an hda file (CollectionArchive.hda)
you can create your own hda file in the same format and then upload this to create a new folder structure on a ny UCM instance. In this case you specify the dCollectionID in the hda file.
DO not forget it is dCollectionID in the Collections table, xCollectionID is the content metadata field. -

Scheduled automatic upload of roles/user mapping from R/3 to EP6
EP6.0 offers a nice tool to <b>upload roles</b> together with the <b>user mapping</b> from an R/3 backend system to the portal. This works very well, but in an environment where the user mapping happens on the backend system this <b>manual</b> process has to be repeated to keep the user mapping up to date.
It would be very useful if this process could run in <b>batch mode</b> and could be <b>scheduled</b>. Does anyone has a solution for this problem?
The way the portal user administration is designed works maybe very good for small companies, but for large companies with many users a <b>batch upload tool</b> is really needed!

There are a few solutions for this problem and we are investigating some of them now:
- you can use an LDAP server. Transfer users and the groups to which they belong from the R3 system to LDAP. The groups correspond to the roles the users have. The portal can use the groups on the LDAP server. The portal roles have to be attached to the groups and not to the users.
- we are also thinking about writing a JAVA program that automizes the manual role upload that SAP delivers in the portal. The KM part of the portal contains a scheduler which can be used to schedule the upload of uesr mappings from R3 to the portal.
- you can also make an ABAP web service that is called from a program on the portal to transfer the usermapping. The program makes use of the UME API.
- Or you can make an ABAP program on R3 that calls a JAVA program on the portal that makes use of the UME API to store the user mapping on the portal.
your iview question:
Maybe you can change the default setting for the preferred GUI in the master iview that is used for the creation of the iviews. When you create a new iview the portal creates a delta link based on the master iview., so when you change the master iview all new created iview based on the master iview will have the correct setting immediately.
