Uploading content via folio builder does not work

Hi,
Working in inDesign and having a problem with the Folio Builder.
Does anybody know what is going on when I have created a folio, then an article and the folio builder states 'Building Folio...Done' and there is a loading symbol suggesting the article is uploading but it never does. (see attached image). We are not subscribed to either Digital Publishing suite service so we are only allocated one Folio per Adobe ID. Could it be a conflict between a previously installed version (CS 5) of the Folio extentions, which was incorrect as we are working on C5.5 — I subsequently deleted the CS5 folder manually and installed the correct version for CS5.5.

Colm before you get help from our pros I will say what happened and worked for me.
I had the same problem and it took two whole days to solve it.
When things stopped working and the process was hanging I would have to kill In-Design. On Windows you go to the task manager and end the program.
This never seemed to cause a problem for In-Design. Right away I would restart the program and start over again and things would finally work.
Go to your Acrobat.com account and see if the file is there. Most often it is. Even though the builder was hung up some how the file ended up on Acrobat.com site.
Click on your cover file in Folio Builder and then try clicking on Preview. If you are able to view your file in Content Viewer on your PC then your problem
may be different than mine. I could not preview my file. Once this preview problem was solved all the other problems went away.
Consider these points as a starting point and then we will give you more ideas.

I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns.

I just spoke with a member of our team and they were able to reproduce this issue: invoking folio preview from the file menu brings up an empty panel instead of launching the desktop preview tool. Thanks for bringing it to our attention! There are two ways you can work around this and get the desktop preview application up with your content:
1) Use the preview button in the Folio Builder panel (this will preview the entire folio)
2) Use the preview button in the Overlay Creator panel (this will preview the active InDesign document)
This problem only affects CS5 and CS5.5. If you are on CS6 the menu will work correctly.

OLE DB Connection Build does not work

Hello All!
I am in the process of creating an ASP.NET application that
will initially have an Access database for test purposes on my
laptop computer. Eventually the database will be MS SQL. When I
select OLE DB Connection -> Build it does not work. I have
already tried the "fix" in

and it did not work.
I have also tried MS Access 2000 template and it does not
work. At this point there is no User ID or Password to this
database. Here is what is in the web.config file:

Custom shortcuts addee via Keyboard.prefPane does not work..

I read several sites that all refer to a way to create a shortcut for a menu command without one, ref.: <http://www.apple.com/pro/tips/keyboard.html>
However, that does not work at all for me. Never has. So what I am doing wrong? In particular, I would like to add a shortcut to open the main window of Address Book, after closing the window leaving the app running.
Anyonw could do me a run through? Cause the above mentioned procedure does not work.

PS: Oh, and in iPhoto I am not able to create a new film roll for the selected photos, even though I am following the exact procedure mentioned in Help..

The issue is typically a matter of focus. Particularly in Firefox. In IE, when the page loads and is presented, the Flash object (your Captivate movie) is given focus. So the keyboard shortcuts work. But that doesn't happen in Firefox. In Firefox, you must first click somewhere on the Flash object to give it focus. From there forward, shortcuts work because the Flash object is now listening for them.
In every class I facilitate I demonstrated this and advise that it's a good idea to have a button on the first slide. This serves two purposes.
It forces the user to click to proceed
It keeps the first slide paused until the user is ready
Yeah, before someone comes along and says: (in an annoyingly nasal tone) Mr. Man, you KNOW there is an option in Captivate to keep it paused at the start... I'm well aware that Captivate offers this option without adding a button, but I prefer it for the reasons above.

Folio Builder CC not working.

Hello All
I am in dier need of assistance - My folio builder panel will NOT import layouts, existing ones, new ones, any layouts. Won't import single, won't import multiple.
I can create the folio shell but I can't import any information into it.
Been on the phone to tech support all morning, to no avail.
I have thus far:
•Quit inDesign and restarted it
•Restarted my whole machine
•Deleted all my preferences
•Uninstalled ALL the creative cloud programmes
•Used the cleaner tool
•Created a new admin account and installed creative cloud and solely inDesign
•Thoroughly tested article imports to no avail/same issue.
•Ran the cleaner tool on said test account and reinstalled Creative Cloud desktop and inDesign
•Ran for updates to check I wasn't behind on anything.
And it STILL doesn't work, I am really at a loss
NOTHING is working, I am stuck with my builder panel like this...
I desperately need help
Any suggestions?

It's difficult to tell whether this is an issue with the Folio Builder panel or a problem with the source files you're trying to add/import.
If the Folio Builder panel doesn't seem to be working properly, try this:
1. Quit InDesign and any other CS apps.
2. Delete the opm.db file located in /Users/"your user name"/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/opm.db, and then start InDesign and try signing in to the panel.
If your system files are hidden, hold down Option and choose Go > Library in Finder, and go from there.

Folio Builder Preview not working

I click Preview and I don't see a preview! I see the Preparing Review staus bar and Checking Folios but when it completes I see nothing.
On an earlier version of the magazine I had set the default image as PDF on some articles, these showed a blank gray preview. So I created a complete new set of folios making sure the default format was JPEG but this time I have no previews at all.
Any ideas guys?

Window>Interactive>Preview works but that is limited to a single page.
The other two options still don't work. I have tried deleting and re building single Folios to ensure that PDF was not selected but with no success, no preview at all not even gray.

I assume I have the latest Air and Folio Builder but should I update Folio Producer?

Folio Builder does not appear

I cannot get the Folio Builder to appear from the windows menu in InDesign. Folio overlay will appear. I am using digital workspace. The one time it did appear there was no menu, just a blank pane. Tried resetting preferences. I am on CC 9.2.1

After several hours (4+) trying every combination described here and elsewhere, what ultimately worked was uninstalling ALL Adobe software and starting from scratch.
1. Uninstall any and all Adobe software:
Adobe AIR
Adobe Flash
DPS App Builder
Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Illustrator
Previous downloads of installers
Etc.
2. Clear all system and user caches, preferences, bootcaches, kextcache, etc.and reboot (whether necessary or not; just for good measure).
3. Run the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to confirm everything was removed.
4. Reboot (whether necessary or not; just for good measure).
5. Confirm no Adobe affiliated process is running in the Activity Monitor (or Task/Process Viewer in Windows).
6. Download a new clean installer for Adobe Creative Cloud.
7. Cross fingers.
8. Install Adobe InDesign.
9. Reboot (again, just because).
10. Install Adobe InDesign updates (which should download the necessary DPS tools too).
After all this, the Folio Builder finally appeared and began working again for my computer.

Application Builder does not work with Eurotherm 24XX-Driver

Hi,
I have to programm the software for a new teststation including some Eurotherm 2216 and a Keithley 2700-instrument in Labview 8.0.
Labview offers drivers for the Keithley 2700 instrument and a driver for the Eurotherm 24XX-series that works well with the Eurotherm 2216.
But if I try to build an application with the application builder, I receive an error message:

C:\Programme\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.0\instr.lib\ET24XX\_ET24XX.llb\ET24XX Utility Multiple Write To Registers - Floating Point.vi
I checked this file - there are no links to help files included.
I receive a similar error message for the Keithley-Driver.
I attached the file making the problem.
Would be fine, if someone could help me.

Hi,
I had the same error with my application after I transferred it from LV7 to LV8. I used some external files for documentation of the VI's. LV8 does not find these files anymore (old and new location) Open the VI and add the help file again.

of Media Composer under Windows 7-64 Ultimate runs well. However, in Windows 7 I have to select the "legacy" driver for IEEE OHCI controller. In Windows 10 a "legacy" driver is not available.

This is an issue with your driver vendor and not an MS issue, however if there is a Windows 8.1 driver I would recommend trying that.

Portal Content Studio - mouse button does not work anymore

if you use the portal content studio
content-administration > portal-content
you can configure the portal objects by browsing them and clicking the right mouse button.
That worked but now the mouse button doesn't work - left mouse button works as expected (with left mouse button one can navigate through the objects, iViews, working sets, etc...).
Right mouse button does nothing, portal objects could not be edited. Of course, the mouse is Ok.
Is this strange error known?
How to avoid it?
Is there a possibility to reset this application, so it restarts/re-initializes correctly?
Even a restart of SAP NetWeaver didn't help.
Or can one use another method to perform an action instead of the right mouse button?

Attachment to upload to my e-mail does not work

I am using Mail.com as my e-mail account
I use Firefox as a browser
I was sending an e-mail last week and went to add an attachment .
I pressed the attachment button and the browse box came up
I selected the file to attach and pressed "open" and nothing happened other than the box disappeared
No file was uploaded ??Am I missing an add-in or had one disabled somehow ?? I have checked I have updated versions of Java Adobe etc
I think it may be a Microsoft XP problem ?? Help!

By the way, if the problem is with Yahoo! mail: Many users have discovered all kind of problems and glitches with Yahoo! mail in Firefox when using an old bookmark or old home page URL saved before Yahoo!'s recent server changes.

Uploaded document via windows application does not show in document library, but as checked out Document

Hi,
A windows application uploads document to a document library programatically. Although they get added to the document library but are not shown there. Only when I go to the "Managed file that have no checked in verison" I see all the documents.
This happens even though I have set "No Versioning" in the library settings. This is probably happening because I have added a few custom columns to the library.
How can I avoid this situation and get to upload document which can directly be seen on the document library rather than first taking control of the doc and then checking it in?

When uploading files without filling in some required columns, the files would appear in “Checked Out Files” page.
To avoid this situation, you can modify that windows application to force users fill in the required columns or just define default values for those columns.

Flash Bulider 4.7 - Export Release Build does not work !!!

Hi,
I'm using Flash Bulider 4.7. I'm working on ActionScript 3.0 project using Starling for GPU rendering and SWC with Flash Art work for UI. While debug build is working properly, I cannot export release build. The exporting is finishing, all the assetes which are needed are included in the release (bin-release) folder, but there is NO SWF created(included). What could be an issue ? How can I export release build for the project ?
