Uploading data in Background - for CJ27 LSMW recording or BDC

1. please suggest the BAPI for creating project with reference to standard project definition/WBS similar to CJ27 or CJ20N with copy project method
2. we tried to upload the data in background for LSMW recording and BDC but geting runtime error with raise exception and GUI can not be reach error
recording done using t.code. cj27
suggest the suitable method or solution for above

  • Error while uploading data in SAP (me01)using LSMW

    Hi All,
    I am using LSMW for the first time.
    I am trying to upload data to the Source List transaction (me01) using batch input recording. I created a new recording through LSMW itself. My source structure consists of 5 fields:
    <b>MATNR C(18)
    WERKS C(4)
    VDATU N(8)
    BDATU N(8)
    LIFNR C(10)
    EKORG C(10)</b>
    Now the problem is when i try to convert the data, it gives me an error saying
    "For type "C",a maximum length specification of 65535 is allowed."
    I have noticed that unlike Direct Input method,
    using batch input does not give any fields in "Maintain Field Mapping & Conversion Rules". So even if I have my fields in my source structure ,there are no fields to which I can map them to.
    I don't know that is how it is when we go with batch input.
    My file contain data in following order:
    DANGEROUS GOODS,ABBY,20060801,20060831,30010,TEST
    Pls help me to solve this problem.

    You get such an error message, when define a constant and forget the second ':
    g_werks = '1000.  "wrong
    g_werks = '1000'.  "correct
    In general: a batch input recording can have fixed values and some variables. You need to define, which fields you like to fill with a variable. Go to the overview of the recordings, open the recording in change mode and assign some variable names to the according batch lines.

  • Uploading data in MM01 for different material types

    Hi,
    I have a doubt regarding uploading the data in MM01 for different material types.
    Generally in MM01, we have different views for different material types. The number of views will vary depending upon the material type that we select.
    I have a scenario, where in to upload the data, I have a flat file that consists of data for different message types. So, how to upload the data in such case.
    Can anyone help me on the same by providing explanation or sample code...? What would be the possible ways to upload data in such scenario.
    That would be of great help.

    I have to upload data from excel using  gui_upload  and create it using BAPI_PROFITCENTER_CREATE
    and maintain log....
    I m not able to knw how to use that..

  • Execute FM in background for every 10K records

    I've a report which retrieves all the data from the master table using the open fetch cursor with the packet size 10,000
    FOR EXAMPLE:
    If there are 50,000 records(total)
    For each 10,000 records it should trigger a job  (am trying to call a common function module and submit the FM in background from report)  where the validation will be done only through the funtion module.
    Totally am expecting 5 job's to be trieggered.
    Purpose : I want all the records validation to be completed Simultaneously with fraction of difference.
    So friends any idea/any help would be greatly appriciated.

    you need to do the following:
    1. set the report as an executable.
    2. in tcode sm36
    create a job.
    assign the abap program- the report created in step 1 ( if you are scheduling from the same sap gateway else it is to be scheduled as an external program)
    for the scheduling- you can schedule it after an event ( if the open cursor fetch exceeds or equals 10000) - if the no.of records read are less than 10000, then exit the report- so that the job will not be run.
    schedule the date and time
    save the job.
    3. to view the status and change/delete the job use tcode sm37 and delete the release jobs.

    I've used LSMW extensively for all implementation projects. Most complex problem is when you have to deal with a lot of structures (for example in routings), where you have header/line item/sub-items/long texts/etc relationship. Still, LSMW can pull it fine.

    LSMW is a house,
    BAPI just a room in this house.
    Means that these are not 2 independed ways, LSMW is a workbench that gives you the option to choose from batch
    /direct input method, BAPI and IDOC as well as recording.
    There is no big difference for the LSMW steps.
    Recording is just  meant to be the last option, in case that SAP has not given method.
    Beside of the BAPI, for goods movement  you have IDOC and batch input method given.
    There is really no need for a recording.And you do not need to do any more ABAP for BAPI than you have to do for recordings.
    A recording is a static method.
    For any little variation you wouild need to do an extra recording.
    the SAP given methods are flexible.

  • Solved - Group Fields for Vendor Master Records in IMG

    This was the solution.
    The new field's data element I added to LFB1 did not have the "change document" field checked.  I made that change and now that field shows up in IMG.
    Hello all,
    I added an append structure to the table LFB1.  This structure has 1 field.  I then created a "Modification-Free Enhancement of Vendor Master Record" to add the new LFB1 field to the vendor master screen, edit and display screens.  This is the 3rd time I have done this.  So far so good.
    Now our functional analyst went into IMG to add this new LFB1 field to a "Group Fields for Vendor Master Records" which we have done 2 other times.
    The new LFB1 field does not show up in the list of possible Table-fields.  
    There must be some other step I am missing.
    Does any of this ring a bell?  We are on version 4.7.

      There are several tables that are contain Vendor Master related data which can be used for extraction to BW. Some of the tables which can be useful for you are:
    LFA1 :  Vendor Master (General Section)
    LFM1 :  Vendor master record purchasing organization data
    LFBW : Vendor master record (withholding tax types) X
    WYT3 :  Partner Functions
    LFBK : Vendor Master (Bank Details)
    LFB1:  Vendor Master (Company Code)
    ADRC: Addresses (Business Address Services)
    ADR3: Fax Numbers (Business Address Services)
    ADR6: SMTP Numbers (Business Address Services)
    ADRT: Communication Data Text (Business Address Services)
    You may use the Data sources mentioned in the previous update from Venky above namely :
    0VENDOR_ATTR --- for master data attributes
    0VENDOR_TEXTS -- For texts
    Since the fields that you are using are from different tables so its better if you go for a Generic Data source where you can use the fields as per your requirement.
