Uploading dependent files DW8

Had to create a quick page with one image. Clicked the page
to upload
but didn't see how to upload the corresponding image with it.
Used DW8 help "upload dependent files" and it referred to the
Site File
panel, an Application Server and other stuff that didn't make
sense.
Seem to recall this was quite simple in DW4. You were
prompted to upload
dependent files or not. What happened to simplicity?

  • Dependant files not Uploading to Server CS5

    When I click "Yes" to upload dependant files to the server, DW doesn't upload them. For example, I added a downloadable PDF file to a page, saved it, clicked PUT to upload it to the server, and then when I went to the web and clicked on the link, I got the White Page File Not Found.
    I have checked in my Site preferences, and my Site Manager and everything looks right, I'm not sure what I'm missing?
    Thank you!

    Sure, here is the page I worked on today. I added the very first link you see on the page, "Event Flyer"
    http://www.slaalosangeles.org/events
    Then I saved the page, and PUT the events.html, and the page uploaded correctly but is missing the PDF for the flyer. I intentionally didn't select it and upload it on its own because I wanted to test the dependent files feature.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Dreamweaver CC not prompting to put dependent files when uploading ColdFusion .cfm files?

    I just 'upgraded' (if you consider DW CC an upgrade) from CS6 to CC, and am having problems with .cfm files.
    I have followed all the instructions to get DW CC to open and edit .cfm files..... and it does this just fine. I have also installed the server behaviours and databases panel extension.
    However heres the BIG problem: when I want to upload a .cfm file to a server, I am no longer getting a prompt to upload dependent files! It prompts me fine if I upload a .html file, but not .cfm.
    I mostly work with .cfm files and make changes to CSS files regularly. Whenever I upload a .cfm it is essential that DW also uploads the dependent files associated with it.
    Please how can I fix this issues? I have gone into preferences and all the boxes are checked correctly to prompt for dependent files when putting/getting. I'm so stuck I'm thinking about cancelling my CC products and going back to CS6.

    I have now discovered that DW CC does not prompt to upload dependent files if the file extension is .CFM or .ASPX.
    This is seriously frustrating Adobe..... !!!

  • How to turn off "putting depending files" ?

    Is there such option in DW ? I do not upload automaticly all the related files, I just want to upload one saved file. Anyone can help?

    When Dreamweaver displays the dialog box that asks about uploading dependent files, select the "Don't show this message again" check box, and click No. Dreamweaver will remember that you don't want to put the dependent files.
    If you can't see the dialog box, go to Preferences (Edit menu on Windows, DW menu on a Mac), and select the Site category. Select the option for Prompt on put/check in, and click OK. The next time you upload a file, Dreamweaver will ask you if you want to upload dependent files. Select "Don't show this message again", and click No.

  • CS3: No more Dependant files?

    After upgrading to CS3, I lost the ability to upload the
    dependant files on whichever page I'm uploading.
    I don't see "dependant files" listed anywhwere in the prefs
    or help files. Did we lose the option to upload dependant files? I
    miss knowing that any new images or updated CSS styles would
    automatically be uploaded, now I have to do 2 or 3 uploads and
    spend time looking for any files that may have been updated.
    Thanks for the help,

    Open the Preferences panel (Edit menu on Windows, Dreamweaver menu on a Mac), and select the Site category. There are two checkboxes there for dependent files. Make sure both are selected. The Dreamweaver default is NOT to upload/download dependent files. You need to click Yes, if you want the dependent files to be included.

  • DW8 fails to get dependent files

    In DW8, I've created a new site which is failing to Get
    dependent files. Even though I click Yes in the Get dependent
    files? dialog box, DW downloads only the single selected file, not
    the dozens of images, stylesheets and SSIs included on the page.
    Previously created sites don't have this problem, even though I'm
    performing the Get on the same index.html file, both old and new
    sites use the same remote FTP server and login, and both also map
    their local root folder to folders on the same network share drive.
    (The new, problematic site maps one folder closer to the root on
    the remote server, because it needs to include FTP access to the
    cgi-bin, though that's not where the dependent-files error is
    occurring.)
    I originally encountered the problem on DW8/WinXPPro, but
    I've created the same site on DW8/Mac OSX 10.4.11, and encountered
    the same problem, so it wouldn't appear to be a corrupt
    installation. Are there limits to how close to the server root a
    site can map without causing errors? (Old site's remote host
    directory is www/htdocs/ while the new site's host directory is
    simply www/ )

    Try this. In Site Manager, EXPORT this site definition. Then
    REMOVE this
    site from Site Manager. Then IMPORT the site definition you
    just exported.
    Better?

    Hi ,
    ii'm using Oracle Database 11g R2 need to upload Telecom CDRs to the database on daily basis , it's huge data and changeable , an example of my file in linux Redhat 5 server as below ,
    INDRtotalduration = 00:00:00
    origin_matrix = 4186603ec003ef01
    triggering_key = 665000207

    IN_service_indicator = 0
    service_context_identifier = [email protected]'m already create my table which is the columns names match the file left right names ( like column name =INDRtotalduration ),
    there is no broblem with this i think i can use SQLLDR to upload this file , but the problem here the positions of the columns in the file could change depending on user behavior it could be the first row comes in the thired row or any row and maybe more rows appears ,
    locind = 0
    origin_matrix = 4186603ec003ef01
    Start_Date_And_Time = 03/04/2013 09:24:10

    is there any way to upload the file but after checking the field name in the file and matching to corresponding column name in the table .
    Please help

    Hi,
    If you are only loading one file as a single logical CDR then you could possible just sqlload it into a 2 column table so you have the first column containing the variable name and the second column the value. You can then run a select statement using pivot to turn that into a single logical row - see the example below:
    This example assumes you load the first 3 values from your test data into a table called PIVOT_TEST using sqlloader (i did it with an insert just to demostrate the pivot). You need to list every possible value that the column value could be in the pivot command. See what you think....
    CREATE TABLE pivot_test (
    varname varchar2(100),
    var_value varchar2(100)
    INSERT INTO pivot_test VALUES ('INDRtotalduration','00:00:00');
    INSERT INTO pivot_test VALUES ('origin_matrix','4186603ec003ef01');
    INSERT INTO pivot_test VALUES ('triggering_key','665000207');
    COMMIT;
    SELECT *
    FROM (SELECT varname, var_value
    FROM pivot_test)
    PIVOT (max(var_value) FOR (varname) IN ('INDRtotalduration' AS INDRtotalduration, 'origin_matrix' AS origin_matrix, 'triggering_key' AS triggering_key,'some_other_column' as some_other_column));

  • Lost option to upload related files when using testing server.

    I used to get a dialogue box when I was previewing files on my local machine using my localhost testing server setup. It was kind of annoying having to click yes every time. Last week I accidentally clicked the don't show this anymore box and now when I preview a site on my localhost related files and updated files are not uploaded. I have to manually upload the css, php, and any other related files to the testing server's folder.
    I tried deleting preferences, re-installing Dreamweaver CS4, and everything else I can think of but I can't get this option back. Is there some way, other than using the same folder for the testing server and the site to avoid this problem?
    Thanks.

  • How do I upload a file other than a photo to a website (like a resume to a job site)?

    I have been using my iPad 2 to do job searches.  Many websites ask me to upload my resume and/or a cover letter.  I create these in Pages, and also save them as PDF files.  When I click on the button to upload a file, the only choices I have are photos.  Is there anyway to access other files saved on my iPad?  Thanks!

    What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
    Whatever the case in your case....
    You export your Timeline to file saved to the computer hard drive and from there upload it to YouTube at the YouTube web site.
    Those YouTube extended time accounts are only for use at YouTube web site and not for use within the Premiere Elements YouTube feature.
    Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask. Depending on your Premiere Elements version, look at the AVCHD.mp4 choices
    for your export  to file saved to the computer hard drive.
    Thanks.

  • Correct Approach in uploading a file

    Which is the correct approach in uploading an image file.
    Upload the file to the ApplicationServer and save the path in the DataBase
    OR
    Upload the file to the DataBase as BLOB.

    Usually I think you should just be storing the
    location of the image in the database rather than the
    image itself. However there are a couple of
    disadvantages, chiefly that you need to keep the
    database and file system in sync with each other and
    that you don't have the database security to protect
    your images.Perhaps more importantly (depending on your setup) there's the problem of accessing these auxilliary files from different hosts, and keeping the directory tidy. You can, of course, generally access through NFS but then your configuration on different machines had to take account of different file paths.
    And you've got a second set of permissions to worry about.

  • Uploading a file to Server

    Hi All.
    I need to upload a file to CMS, just like I can do with the CMC:
    from cmc -> folder -> manage -> add -> local file (or something like that).
    But I need to do it from SDK.
    I did not found out exactly, but I am sure it is possible.
    Anyone know how ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Ehud.

    Hi,
    The sample below shows how to add a crystal report to Enterprise.
    http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2SP2/en/en/BOE_SDK/boesdk_java_dg_doc/doc/boesdk_java_dg/HowToExamples7.html#169070
    You can change the plugin type depending upon the type of object you want to publish. You need to find out the SI_ID of the folder in which you want to savve the report and set parentID property for the object to it.
    This link is from XI R2 Developer SDK reference guide.

  • Problem with uploading a file in Clustered Environment

    Hi,
    I have a problem with uploading a file in a clustered environment. I have an iview component which facilitates an upload action of an xml config file. The problem is that the upload of the modified XML file is reflected only in the central instance of the cluster and not in the dialog instances. The dialog instances hold the old config file.
    Is there any solution to upload the file to all the nodes in the cluster.
    Thanks
    Kiran

    Hi,
    This is a known problem with clustered environment. Remember that your portal component runs on just on dialog instance and it doesn't automatically have access to the other nodes.  However, there are some ways to get around this
    1. Use KM to store files. KM is a common repository for all application servers and therefore you needn't worry more
    2. Use an external batch oriented product (suresync/robocopy) to synch folders on the different DIs. You basically use your existing portal component, but there is a batch job which makes sure the upload folder is identical on all DIs (however, there is a slight delay depending on how often you run the batch job)
    3. Store the files on a shared disk directly from the portal component.
    Cheers

    i need a detail explanation ...
    Thanks

    The apache jakarta commons FileUpload project has sample code for how to upload a file.
    To store the file in the database you would use a preparedStatement. You can use anyone of the following methods ; setBlob, setBinaryStream, setBytes.
    The datatype of the column storing the document depend on the databse. SQL Server used image and postgres uses bytea
