Uploading domain changes

I update my boat club (iweb) site: www.monmouthboatclub.org from work, home or on the road. Usually I have to change one or two pages at the most on any given day. Recently, from home, using a new iMac, when I go to just upload site changes, it uploads the entire site.....and it can take sometime as I have a lot of pages. This does not happen when I am using other computers (my work IMac or laptops)...any thoughts?

You say recently. There was a mobile me problem for a few days, but it should be ok currently.
It was corrected a couple of days ago.

Error message when I try to upload site changes...

I'm using iWeb '09 3.0.3 (9833). When I click "Publish site changes", I get an error message stating: "Couldn't reach the MobileMe configuration server. Try publishing your site again later." This is the first time I've ever gotten this message. I checked the MobileMe status page and it says that all MobileMe services are up and running. My site is published on MobileMe, with a custom personal domain that I purchased from GoDaddy.com. My domain still works and my site is up and working fine, but I can't get iWeb to upload any changes. What is going on with iWeb? OK, I've just checked my MobileMe System Preference Pane and there seems to be a problem logging into MobilMe from there. This must be what's going wrong with iWeb. Is this a problem with my iMac or the MobileMe servers?
I'm able to log in without problem on my MacBook but not on my iMac for some reason. On my iMac, when I try to log in using the MobileMe Preference Pane it states that my username and password may be invalid, but my account is working everywhere else (i.e., email, MoblieMe web services, etc...)

Importance of Certification for Domain Change

Hi,
I have two years experience in development in .Net technologies in a reputed MNC. After that I took a break for personal reasons and now am planning to get back into the industry. During that period of work, i had taken part in a "boot camp" carried out by my company itself in SAP PI/XI 7.1, which perked a lot of interest in me towards SAP. Domain change, unfortunately, was not encouraged in my company, at least at my level.
I am now looking forward to doing Certification in a SAP module. I have a few questions.
1. Even though I have coding experience, will I be counted as a fresher, since it is not in SAP technologies? I think Certification is important towards improving my chances in improving my chances in securing a job as a SAP consultant?
2. I am leaning more towards functional modules than technical. My work exposed me more towards communications end, especially mobile app development, can any one suggest a good module i should look into? I liked SAP PI/XI since including a bit of coding as well, which i though would be good for me since i have experience in that domain, but some consider it as an advanced module, so I'm really not sure.

1. As far as SAP is concerned, you would be considered as a fresher. However, your .net experience would be some handy. SAP Certification may help to market your CV being a fresher. At the end of day, whether you have Certification or not, you need to show case and prove your abilities in the interview.
2. Particularly, mobile technologies have good demand. You should follow the mobile technology space on SCN. There are some wonder people in this area, I am sure, they would be able to advise you in more details.

How to upload just changes

Hi, I'm new here, so sorry if this an easy question but... Could you please advise me how upload just changes I've made in my site? You know, there's quite a lot of pictures on my site and uploading the whole site again and again even when I made just a little change on my site is just killing me. I'm using iWeb 08, I'm not using .Mac (although I'm looking forward to Mobile Me so I always publish to a folder and then upload the site via FTP. I'm using Cyberduck. Thanks a lot. Jan

I believe Web Site Maestro can compare the folder to the online files and upload only the changed files as well as optimize the files. Roddy is the most experienced with it so search under his name for Web Site Maestro to get more information.
I use Transmit to upload to my .Mac account and it has a sync function may do what you want. Here's the info from the Help file for Transmit:
"Synchronizing files
Transmit can synchronize a folder in Your Stuff with a folder in Their Stuff, or vice-versa.
Connect to the server containing the folder you wish to synchronize.
Navigate in both Your Stuff and Their Stuff to the folders that you wish to synchronize.
Choose Transfer > Synchronize...
Choose Upload if you want newer files in Your Stuff to be sent to Their Stuff. Choose Download if you want newer files in Their Stuff to be sent to Your Stuff.
Choose the synchronization method you would like. Update mode will transfer new or changed files. Update mode will never delete any files. Mirror mode should be used with caution as it will delete any files in the destination folder that are not also present in the source folder.
Choose the options you are interested in:
If you want Transmit to follow symbolic links (aliases) when synchronizing, click "Follow symbolic links".
If you would like Transmit to automatically skip certain files during synchronization, check the box labeled "Skip items with specified names", and click Edit... to set up the file names you wish Transmit to ignore.
Transmit can only synchronize files modified in a certain time window. Check this box and choose your time window to narrow Transmit's synchronization scanning.
You can have Transmit determine time zone offset between the server and your computer automatically by checking the box labeled "Determine server time offset automatically." This feature may not work on some servers. Alternatively, you can enter the time zone offset manually by un-checking the box and entering the time offset into the Hours and Minutes boxes.
Finally, check the "Simulation Only" box to prevent Transmit from actually transferring or deleting files. Use this to test your settings before synchronizing "for reals".
Click Synchronize."
It is a very easy to use application.

Oracle Enteprise manager 11g has stopped working after domain change

We are currently running Oracle 11g on our environment. It was working fine until the domain change. how can i reconfigure oracle such that it can work on the new domain without uninstalling. Oracle runs on morethan eight production VM Windows 20008 R2 servers.

System Domain Change

We will soon be going through a Domain change from "NTDP" to "GOVT".
There is a fair amount of shall we say...hesitation (trying to be nice)...regarding what types of changes, if any, are required for the Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 system. Is anyone aware of any existing documentation regarding such a change?
For example, the configuration tab on all of the crystal servers tell me that the "CMS belongs to cluster 'WIT157.NTDP.Henrico". However, we don't really "cluster" the CMS. In other words, there is only 1 CMS server, not multiple. Regardless, will that cluster name need to change to GOVT? Or this name just a name.
Any other recommendations on things to look into regarding a Domain change like this?
It's been a while since BO XI was installed. Years. I'm not sure anyone's really paid it a lot of attention in this whole domain change things. Trying to make sure this app doesn't slip through the cracks.

The domain change will appear as a server name change in releases prior to XI 3.x. You may need to recreate the server/services. There are SAP notes on this in the SMP.
If you have any services running under AD accounts you must insure they can still run in the new domain (or if the old domain is going away) you will need to create their accounts in the new domain. You will need a domain account for various reasons(like sending reports to a network location or to enabling kerberos).
If you use AD or NT authentication enabled then you may need a lot more planning depending on what's happening to the old domain.

Domain change / Spiceworks pings a nonexistent domain

My company is in the process of switches email providers, moving from johnstown.k12.oh.us to jmk12.org. The email I signed up with is a jmk12.org email, and so Spiceworks keeps attempting to ping jmk12.org — a nonexistent domain. How would I go about changing the ping alert to ping my original domain? I already changed my user settings to use the original email.
Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but I'm new and can't for the life of me figure it out, if it's even possible.

Command to Open "Computer Name/Domain Changes" window

Running the commands SystemPropertiesComputerName or "sysdm.cpl" in command line will open the System Properties window. I still have to click on the "Change" button to
get to the Computer Name/Domain Changes window. Is there a command to get to the
Computer Name/Domain Changes window directly? I have been searching the internet for several days. I've also tried using SendKeys (batch file, VBScript, and in PowerShell) and to send two TABS
and an ENTER key but I can't get it to work. The command doesn't seem to work on the
System Properties window.

Am having difficulty uploading editorial changes to remote site ???

Edited pages in Dreamweaver do not upload to the remote site. I have been doing this for years and suddenly the changes simply do not upload.

One method you can use, along with optimizing your website for increased loading efficiency in browsers, is to publsh to a folder on your hard drive and use Web Site Maestro to optimize and upload only the new or modified files with its Smart Handling feature.
If you publish to a folder you can use the synchronizing feature of Cyberduck, help/en/howto/sync – Cyberduck, to upload only those new or changed files.

FTP clients/upload only changed pages

I've been reading all the posts related to uploading sites created with iWeb to a non .Mac acccount using various FTP clients, and just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. I use Fetch to upload my two sites to a godaddy.com account. No problems, everything works fine. My sites don't have a lot of pages right now, so I don't care that the whole thing is uploaded every time I make a small change or add a new page. But if my site increases in size & takes a long time to upload, I'd like there to be a way to only upload the changed or new pages. Am I correct in thinking that as of now, none of the FTP clients available are able to do that?

you're right: none of the FTP clients is able to do that with iWeb.
That's what I think why it is so (yet not 100% sure): FTP clients compare the file size and the date a file was edited. If they see it changed they upload that file. If not they kind of skip it.
The "problem" now is that when you export an iweb-website to a folder the files are marked as "created the day and time" you exported it. And that's why (I repeat, I'm not 100% sure) the ftp client doesn't skip the files because the answer from the server is "the file on the computer is newer than the file I have".
(To the pros who read that: please correct me if I'm wrong so that I can learn and don't make mistakes twice...)
BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO is manually selct the files you want to be uploaded. Say you change something in the index file, you can go to your ftp client select the index file and then upload only the index file (I do that all the time with one or more files).
If you add pages that do not appear in the nav bar, means that on a page you have links to that pages, in your ftp client you can select the pages you added and the page you inserted the links to those pages and upload only those.
Now I'm not sure about adding a page that appears in the nav bar, I would try it but my page has a lot of pages and it takes forever to export to folder but you could try... (please tell me the outcome) But I think that it works with those pages too (I think the nav bar will be updated in the whole site even if not re-uploading them all)

My iPad is not uploading my changes to iCloud

my ipad has stopped uploading any changes i make to icloud, if i log into icloud.com then the documents have dissapeared, i have an arrow in the top right corner of the documents on the ipad
I have switched everything off on all devices and swithed back on only on ipad and the problem still exists
any ideas???

Try resetting the iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

OS domain change

We are going to change our DOMAIN in sever, Is that we need to take any pre-requisites in SAP level for the Domain change. We are going to stop the application server before changing the domain.

The system will not work/come up after you switched the domain. You will need to adapt the permissions on the filesystem for the new users (in the new domain), registry permission, OPS$-Users (in case of Oracle) and various other things.
I suggest you do a system copy instead (backup the system, delete it, switch domain and reinstall).

Remote distribution Servers Domain Change

We have around 500 remote distribution point servers. We are going through a domain change for the company. I have read that domain change is not supported officially, so does anyone know the best way we can move all the content library and data from
1.abc.com server to 1.xyz.com server?
Is there is other way we can change the domain of the existing server, and not go through a process of building 500 more servers and move the data?
