Uploading employee pic in PA30

hi folks,
i dunno if am using the right forum for this doubt, do correct me if am wrong.
i have been trying to upload an employee passpoart photo in pa30, i've follwed all the steps required, but the pic only appears when u go to extras--> display all fascimiles . that too in a separate window. i want to display it next to the empoyee personnel number. can anyone help me out with this?

i am able to upload the employee pic in the back end R3 system and its coming fine when i go to PA30. My doubt is > do i have to upload the image separately in the EP so that it appears in ESS> who's who section?
or should it appear automatically once its uploaded in the backend system ?

the who is who uses the same archivelink/contentserver as the backend (PA30). but you have to make sure that the contentserver is reachable from the clients browsers, because the portal just delivers the URL to them.

Ask your basis person to go to transaction SICF Content server and assign system user to content server.
After that HR works from Transaction OAAD , choose option Store and assign. Select buisness object as PREL ,Document type as HRICOLFOTO and create.In the pop out screen select Employee No. For action 0000,also give date for this and enter.
It will work from PA30 when you select the same employee no.

you have to go with OAC0 tcode here in content repository double click on A5 which is standard one go in details-->clickon fulladministration then in that screen you will be having Basic path and Achive path there basis people need to give sapgui code.
they will be have this code in servermanagemt. i am not clear of this code where they can find. but i am sure of that this code will be given by basis people only. then go with OAOH tcode. give the details as usal and one more thing is that the photo should be save jpeg formate.

Since upgrade no photos appear in iphoto list when trying to upload a pic to facebook. I can "share" on my own wall but not post a pic to a friend's wall.

The iPhoto facebook upload can only post to your account
If you are uploading using a browser your photos are accessed through the media browser in the lower left ahnd corner of the puload window under media ==> photos ==> iPhoto
Please describe what you are doing, what problem you are having and what version of iPhoto and of the OS you are using

     I am following note 595563 and performing below mentioned activities.</h2>
       <h3> * Make sure that the HTTP plugin is active.</h3>
    <h4> Transaction SMICM, "Display Services" function key (shift F1). The list of services must contain a port other than 0 for HTTP. If not, you must adjust the relevant profile parameter.
     Typical entry:
      icm/server_port_0         PROT=HTTP, PORT=1080, TIMEOUT=900
Make sure that the /sap/bc/contentserver service is active.
      Transaction SICF, select: default_host - sap - bc - contentserver. Select the function to display/change the service. Check that a user is defined.
      If a user is not defined, use Transaction SU01 to create a new user. Use the "System" user type. Assign the profiles SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW to the user.
      Using the relevant data from the user that has just been created, maintain the anonymous logon data for the service /default_host/sap/bc/ and then save the changes.
Check the system PSE.
      Start Transaction STRUST. Expand the system PSE. The system PSE must be green for each application server.
Determine a suitable exchange directory.
      The archive system must be accessible from every application server. If all application servers are running on the same platform (for example, Windows), one network directory that is accessible on all application servers (for example,
server\share) is sufficient. You can generally use the global directory (profile parameter DIR_GLOBAL). You can use report RSPARAM to determine the profile parameters.
Setting up the storage
Create a table for storing the data.
      Use Transaction SE11 to create a copy of table SDOKCONT1. If you want to create the repository database, you can call the table ZCONT_DB, for example. Save the table as a local object. Activate the table.
Create the repository.
      Use Transaction OAC0 to create a new repository.
      Use the following parameters:
        Repository                              Max. two characters, for example, DB
        Document area ArchiveLink
        Storage type    R/3 database
        Storage subtype normal
        Version no.      0046
        Contents table <table name>     for example: ZCONT_DB
        Exchange directory   <directory name>          for example:

Employees Pics in Report...

Hi,
I want to design a report, which will display employees pic with other informative data about each employee. Basically the purpose of this report is to design employee cards. I am using reports 6i and the pics of employees are stored in file system. The pics are named with employee ID, like the ID of the employee is his/her pics name. Now some employees have pics while pics of few employees are not available. I have tried this query but there is a problem, the query is:
SELECT id,name,'C:\MYPIC\'||id||'.BMP' pic
FROM mytable;
This query is working fine if all employees have pics and they are stored in MYPIC folder. If any pic is missing report gives an error.
I want that the query should be modified in such a way that if any pic is not available the report should not show the pic but the other available data of that employee. OR is there any other way to design such a report?

You can do this in a couple of ways:
1.Have multiple link file images and based on after parameter form results, return TRUE in one of the image's format trigger and FALSE is all others.
2.Let the images be in the database column(blob).
imageTable contains: (Imagename, image(blob))
Query : select image from imageTable where Imagename= :P_imagename;
In reports Layout, in this field's property palatte, set the column->File Format as Image.
Based on after parameter form, change the value of user parameter P_imagename so that each time you get the desired image.

i uploaded employees using a bdc program and all the information got in. but on viewing the org structure using PPOME the positions remain vacant (there is no indication that the position has already been occupied).

Due to employee photo is stored as ArchiveLink and I tried to upload it by LSMW, but it doesn't work. I was wordering that, the document that stored in ArchiveLink can be uploaded by LSMW or not.
Has anyone used to upload employee's photo into SAP? If so, how?

Is it possible to upload employee photo into IT 0002 in ECC 6.0

Hello Guru's,
I have a requirement to upload employee photo's to Infotype 0002, so gone through all the steps in the threads posted here and felt that all were for R/3 4.6 n 4.7 only.
I have a different set up in few tables like OAC0 in ECC 6.0.
Request you all to let me know if uploading of employee photo is possible in ECC 6.0 ?? if so, let me know the configuration steps.
with screen shots are more appreciated.

IMG - Personnel management - personnel administration - customizing user interfaces - change screen header.
Regarding the archiving part you better ask your basis admin to set that up for document type HRICOLFOTO.
2) Photo in the PA IT0002 In version 4.0B it worked
1. Define physical archives using transaction OAC0 Arx. ZZ
2. Assign objects types & document types to archive & documents tables for Obj PREL , doc.type HRIEMPFOTO,
Arx. ZZ using transaction OAC3
3. Define number range using transaction OANR
4. Using transaction OAC2 define doc.typ & tech doc types for exmpl. HRIEMPFOTO - TIF
5. Create protocol for Archive link using transactions OAA3 for exmpl. Comm.prot.,version. Generate it will define
application type from list and so on.
6. In the table 585O define relevant infotype for object and document type for exmpl. for it0002
7. Using transaction OAAD create link for PERNR with relevant infotype & files on the server, which described on the
first step.

Before I downloaded Lion every time I would upload a pic from iphoto there would be two files. One that was 1.8MB and another that was 50KB. Now I can only find the 1.8MB one. Did this option disappear with Lion?

When you would "import" what?
two files would show up in "images".
Do you mean in the All Images search in the Finder?
IF so:
1.Never interact with photos that are in iPhoto via the All Images Search. This does not understand the iPhoto Library and it's very, very easy to damage the library this way.
2. What you were seeing was the original file you imported and the thumbnail created by iPhoto for viewing on the iPhoto Window. That thumbnail is not designed for user access.
What are you trying to do ultimately?
