Uploading External Simple Org Structure
Hey all,
Has anyone had experience with loading external org hierachies in SAP HR? We were asked to load a simple org structure extracted out of PeopleSoft HR (simple parent child relationship) in to R/3.
Does anyone have clue as to the best way to do this? We current only have an SAP minimaster and are not Organizational Management.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi Paul,
1. Call report RHMOVE00 (with transaction se38. It creates an example file)
2.maintain the example file with your objects
3. Call report rhaltd00 to upload file (it generates a Batch-Input which you could run).
Look also at the documentation of the reports

I have a simple org structure - one org unit, one postion and 4 users assigned to that position in Dev client.
How do I transport this request to Q without re-creating it?
Also, When we transport this, by default, does it carry the data (meaning do I see the same users in Q. if so, how do I avoid this).

You will these useful.
1. Note 995771 - System Landscape Copy for SAP SRM 4.0 and 5.0
2. Within SRM5 you can transport a structure using the report RHMOVE30. This will generate a customizing task. In the selection screen select your root node in the object field and EBP-DOWN as evaluation path.
After the transport in the target system, you need to convert the attributes in reference to a logical system with report rhom_attribute_replace and transaction BDLS.

Uploading new Org Structure when old one exists?
Good day,
I m faced with the following scenario:
There is an org unit with the following no assignment:
O --> 00001 to 09999
S --> 100001 to 199999
P --> external number assignment
Now only S P and O are being used.
The client wants to correct the current org structure.
They wanted to reorder the org units numbering.
It was demonstrated to them in QAS client that this will entail deleting the object and relations to give the object a different number and in OM, the relations are important not the object ID.
The client is working on Org Units in batches and cannot get all the information ready at one time and cannot wait for the final data upload in PRD.
Thus, they have instructed us to go with new numbering for Org units from 1001 .... onwards so that upto 100 they are not touched.
And we have been asked to start uploading ORg Units in batches, firstly in QAS clients and then in PRD.
What r the consequences of having 2 numberings for the same object in OM?
Is it possible to have a plan version and an active version of Org Structure in SAP? If so, what are the limitations in terms of object validity?

Looks like your purchasing org has purchaing org and purchaing group assigned together in the function tab.
Purchaing org details should be maintained one level below your root org. In fucntion tab for ONE COMPRAS maintain your purchasing org details. DONOT MAINTAIN PURCHASING GROUP TOGETHER.
Maintain purchaing group to the org unit where all your users are. I.e org unit compratoes...something like that !!!
Also maintain relevant responsibilities for product categories in purchasing group and for purchaing org...in the extended atributes maintain the product categories.
Your company code looks ok.
This should fix your problem.

HR Master Data Uploads - Uploaded Employees not appearing on org structure
hi experts.
i uploaded employees using a bdc program and all the information got in. but on viewing the org structure using PPOME the positions remain vacant (there is no indication that the position has already been occupied).
Your help will be appreciated.Pls run program RHINTE00 via SE38

Org Structure download from HR and Uploading into SRM
Dear All
We have SRM 7.0 and ECC 5.0.
We are trying to load ORG structure data from SAP-HR into SRM. These 2 systems are not connected and we can't use the ALE synchronously. Can we download the HR org structure - ALE Distribution- iDoc into a file from the SAP-HR System and then upload the same into SRM, to create the entire Org structure? Pl provide your inputs.

We are looking to capture O,S,C objects ie HRP1000 objects as first step.
We are looking to capture all relationship belonging to that ORG unit ie HR1001 relationship as second step.

e.g. you take case of one new position, so you have to see case of S-S, tehn S-C, then S-O....like that...
for this activity I have to use pp01 xn, and for that we have to do scat....and for scat we need data..in excel.... -
Org Structure Isn't appearing in PPOM_OLD
Dear Gurus,
I'm getting a very stranger error, All OM object Id's were uploaded through LSMW by using PP02, but when i checked in PPOM_OLD to see org structure I'm unable to view the Org structure view & also I've checked the internal tables HRP1001 and PO10, PO13 & I can view the details. below is the following screens
Case 1 PPOM_OLD:
here I'm unable to view the Sub-Org units details
Case 2 HRP1001:
here I'm able to view all the details with relationships maintained.
Case 3 PO10:
here I can also view the relationships. but I'm still unable to view in simple maintenance PPOM_OLD.
Kindly please provide me ur valuable Inputs.

Display of Person with position in Org Structure

We have a display issue, please help us to resolve.
While uploading the master data with help of BDC, the data is uploaded which has been checked properly showing data has been uploaded. But when we see the org structure through ppom_old we cant see person assignment to the positions.

Whenever you run master data upload through BDC the relationships in OM are not created.
I am sure you have created the necessary positions in OM under Org Units and then used these positions in BDC to upload your IT 0001. But now you are not able to see the position - holder assignment in OM, right?
If this is your problem then go to SE38 and run program RHINTE00.
Select one or two persons for whom you have uploaded master data and run the above program for them
If you have already created OM objects then tick mark CREATE HOLDER RELATIONSHIPS ONLY
a session will be created with your username which you can process through SM35
please go through the documentation of the report to understand the use.

Agent Determination with Org Structure without HR
We are currently on SAP 4.7 without the HR component. Our tech area would really like us to implement our first workflow where agent assignment is determined from an org plan. This workflow is a very simple workflow and actually only involves 2 people (one clerk and one manager).
If I build a very simple structure for this particular department, how easy is it to add on additional levels, both higher or lower, at a later date that will accomodate future workflows without effecting the existing one?

I guess I'm still struggling with the best way to determine agent assignment given our circumstances (no HR) and the simplicity of this workflow. (Recap of workflow - investigation and approval of corp refunds done by person # 1. If refund > $500, needs approval from person #2).
The tech area wants me to create a simple org plan but not assign any users to it and then transport it all clients. Then in each client, we can assign users which would accomodate our testing with different id's than in prod. The workflow would then assign to a position not a userid. The advantage is that when people leave, the org plan must be maintained not the workflow.
I've thought about using responsibility rules but ultimately, you are assigning a userid to a rule which still needs maintenance if a user leaves.
I've also thought about using activity groups but the way we use them at our location isn't appropriate in this circumstance. Our activity groups are so broad it would give too many people access to workflows.
Lastly, I've thought about creating a custom Z table with the userid's in it and calling a function module to determine agent assignment. This actually sounds intriguing but again, someone would need to maintain the userid's in the table. Also, what's the best kind of key for the table - taskid?
One of our dilema's is that IT management does not want to give anyone authorization to change a WF templete in prod. So I must create the WF templete with the correct assignment in our dev system and then transport it to our prod system.
Then there's the whole issue about who will be doing any maintenance. Since we don't have an HR component at this time (hopefully sometime in the next 5 years), HR won't maintain an org structure.
See how complicated this is becoming? I'd appreciate any insight.

Each Supply Chain units in R/3 like Plant,Vendor,Customer,Supplier etc are handled as locations in SAP SNC or SAP SCM
Lets say a Plant XYZ is refered as location XYZ of type 1001 in SAP SNC
Go to transaction in SAP SNC /SAPAPO/LOC3 - Location
You will see field Location Type :
1001 Production Plant
1002 Distribution Center
1007 Storage Location MRP Area
1010 Customer
1011 Vendor
Basically in SAP SNC/SCM all these are locations, where planning happens, to map them back to R/3, they differentiate these locations based on location type.

BP no corresponds to the organizational unit.
This comes into picture, in order to share the internal application (SAP SNC owned by OEM-Original Equipment Manufacuturer) to thier supply chain members like customer,supplier and sub contractor
They brought this BP concept, where an external supply chain unit is defined as BP of type Organisation and the necessary users(internet users/persons) are created under it
Now the mapping happens in location master /SAPAPO/LOC3 in the field Business Partner Number

My client is a Cement Mfg.Compnay.There products are PPC,Limestone and Clinkers.They have 1 plant in West Bengal and there is a grinding Plant in JSR.They will sell from Kolkata(Main SO).
It has been suggested by an external consultant that they should have the following ORG STRUCT.
1 SALES ORGANISATION EACH FOR CLINKER/SCRAP/STO/LIMESTONE/CEMENT
DISTRBN CHANNELS LIKE DEALER/AGENT/CONSIGNMENT/STO/SCRAP
DIVN LIKE CEMENT-PPC/CEMENT-OPPC/CLINKER/LIMESTONE/SCRAP/STO.
I have suggested the following
1 Sales Organisation-XYZ
Distrbn Channel-Dealer/Institutional Sales/Consignment/Export/STO
Divn.Clinker/Cement/Limestone.
Can anyone suggest an ORG STRUCTURE(SD) based on which I can proceed further other than the one mentioned above..
Out of the 2 mentioned above which one do you'll think is practical and better.

you take any enter prise structure but we have to think broadly from reporting point of view.
sales orgns : 1000 - for domestic sales & 2000 - export sales (thinking futrue).
distribution channels : Trades adn non trade sales, intercompany/STO/whole sales/retailers/
divisions: 01 - grey cement/ 02 - white cement.
MMR's FG's - PPC 33,43,53 Grades, OPC 33,43,53 Grades,
semi finished goods :Clinker.
RM - lime stone.
business processess:
scrap sales
domestic sales - trade and non trade sales
nepal sales
export sales
export under bond sales
the above is better because in my previous cement assignment we did and suggested this only to teh client.
