Uploading Folders rather than Files?

Is there a way to upload folders with numerous documents in
them rather than just one file at a time?

Hello Serious Softball,
Thanks for your post.
You are not able to select a folder to upload, when you
upload in your My Files area. However, you are able to go into that
folder and select the contents.
The uploader will allow you to select multiple files to
upload at a time.
You can do that by shift+clicking to select multiple files,
or dragging a "selection box" to highlight multiple files.
Thank you for your folder suggestion, I'll pass it on!
Cheers,
Pete

  • Is there no way to share folders with the rest of the Team, rather than file by file, link by link

    Is there no way to share folders with the rest of the Team, rather than file by file, link by link, potentially hundreds of links for a folder containing graphics, html, css, etc for a web project?
    Not quite sure what's the advantage of a team account - just seems like a bulk purchase of single accounts. As a team working in the cloud I'd expect to be able to collaborate on projects not a single file.

    Folder sharing is not currently available.
    The advantage of a Team account is not bulk purchase but being able to assign and remove Seats as needed by an Administrator who handles billing. With an Individual subscription the payment information is attached to each the individual.

    I've just installed creative cloud 64 bit windows.  How can I make bridge the default program to upload pictures rather than lightroom?

    Usually the default program associated with an image file extension is an image developing Program like Lightroom or an image editing program like Photoshop. If you want to change the default associated program to Adobe Bridge you would use Window's Controls Panel file association applet.

  • How import prior Backed-Up Fox Favorities in multiple sub-folders rather than one at a time in Fox 6.0

    How do you import prior Backed-Up Fox Favorities. This involved many short-cuts and contained in multiple sub-folders.
    How can I import the whole folder library rather than one short-cut at a time from each folder.

    The favorites shortcuts were not IE but from Firefox. I had a operating system failure. So, after re-installing the operating system, I then had to re-install all applications anew.
    After installing Fox 6.0, the problem is my prior use of folders and sub-folders with many favorites shortcuts in each.
    It appears that I will need to start anew with creating a folder system in the new firefox application. Then take all of the favorites shortcuts, individually, out of folders and put them in a file in a row, in an antilog fashion. Then try to get Firefox to accept them in some fashion.
    I also do not know how to (1) export IE Favorites (2) in IE (3) to an HTML?
    I am just lost.

  • HT1382 how do I organize iTunes in Album folders, rather than artist/album.

    The way iTunes organizes my music is not very organized for me. I would like to organize all songs from an album into a single folder, rather than having the album folders present with artists folder.  Is there any way I can change the way iTunes organizes the songs in my media library?
    I tried to see if I can export a playlilst that is organized by Albums rathre than artists, but there seems to be no options.

    iTunes has exactly one way to organize, and that is by artist/album.
    If that is not what you prefer, then go into Preferences > Advanced, and make sure that "Keep..." and "Copy..." are both not checked.  Then, for any new songs you plan to add to iTunes, put them in whatever folder you want them to be, and iTunes will be reference their current location, and will not move or change anything.
    BTW, changing those settings will give you the correct handling of new additions, but will not change anything that is already in the library.  Also, it does not affect any future items purchased from the iTunes Store.

  • Can i create DB in shared mem, rather than backed by a file

    Hi
    I'm using db 4.2.6 version and trying to create a DB in shared mem rather than a file. How do I achieve that.
    While I look at documentation here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/programmer_reference/env_region.html
    ==========
    If the DB_SYSTEM_MEM flag is specified to DB->open(), shared regions are created in system memory rather than files. This is an alternative mechanism for sharing the Berkeley DB environment among multiple processes and multiple threads within processes.
    ===========
    But DB->open() rejects DB_SYSTEM_MEM flat out. db->open() doesn't even talk about flag:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_reference/C/dbopen.html
    I could specify DB_SYSTEM_MEM for DBENV.
    Here is my code. Also DBENV->open() won't let me specify DB_PRIVATE.
    flags = DB_INIT_MPOOL | DB_CREATE | DB_SYSTEM_MEM | DB_INIT_TXN | DB_RECOVER | DB_INIT_LOG |
                DB_LOG_AUTOREMOVE;
    dbenv->open(dbenv, dbhome, flags, 0);
    flags = DB_CREATE | DB_EXCL| DB_AUTO_COMMIT;
    dbp->open(dbp, NULL, dbfile, NULL, DB_BTREE, flags, 0);If I create db as above, where is it getting created? I don't see it here:

    create log/transaction
    creating in system mem
    inserted 10000 records. errs 0
    logs removed
    inserting 10000 records took 0s.290ms (29 micros/op)
    done. 0s.290ms

    When reading the documentation, I would indicate to read the documentation from the release package you downloaded. The online documentation is accurate for the latest BDB release.

    That's a documentation error, it should refer to the DB_ENV->open()method. Thanks for pointing it out! As you can see, the DB_SYSTEM_MEM is linked to the DB_ENV->open() method: http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_reference/C/envopen.html#envopen_DB_SYSTEM_MEM

DB_PRIVATE should not be specified if more than a single process is accessing the environment because it is likely to cause database corruption and unpredictable behavior. For example, if both a server application and Berkeley DB utilities (for example, db_archive, db_checkpoint or db_stat) are expected to access the environment, the DB_PRIVATE flag should not be specified.

  • Upload folders

    Please, there is a way to upload folders with all inside contents to Creative Cloud? It seems that I cannot and I cannot believe that. I am doing some mistake?

    in relation to folders - why can you not drag and drop uploaded files into folders in the cloud? I have uploaded 4 files, then I created a folder, tried to drop the files into the folder and then nothing. Seems a bit stupid that you have to create a folder first. What if you want to move items around?
    Also I would like to share a folder and all of it's contents with a client. Does it not make more sense to allow sharing of folders - rather than each individual file?
    If you want to share a single file, then all you do is create a folder. If you want to share multiple files, create a folder. In both situations - share the folder.
    If you wanted a more complex level you could tag files in a folder for sharing/ not sharing, but if you sorted out the first issue (folder drag and drop) then you would not need this option. You could just drag files out of a folder that you do not wish to share.
    You could get around the main post problem then by a simple upload zip file (or compression of your choice), which uses the zip structure to create the folder structure and files. This would also speed up uploads if it zipped a folder on the fly. You would then just click browse for file, when you click a folder, it knows to zip the structure and the content locally, then uploads the compressed file, upacks on the cloud and auto generates the same structure.
    Not that difficult to do.

  • Wiki file attachments - can the wiki be configured to link to a file already on the server rather than uploading it into the page?

    Can the wiki be configured to link to a file already on the server rather than uploading it into the page? This would enable users to open (and edit) the original server hosted document rather than downloading a static copy that can't be edited and synced back into the wiki page.
    As a workaround I've tried attaching an alias to a file but it doesn't work - the wiki instead uploads the aliased file.
    From what I can work out, the default wiki behaviour is to upload a document to a wiki page, which creates a copy of the uploaded document in the wiki database. This copy has no connection to the original document. It can be downloaded and edited, but the edits are not saved back into the wiki hosted version of the document.
    I'd like to be able to upload a link or alias to a document (with preview please!) already on the server. A user could then preview the document or click to open and edit it.
    The only way I can do this at the moment is to create a link "afp://123.../doc.rtf" to the original. This is timeconsuming and confusing for non-technical users and doesn't offer the benefits of the attach function (ie document preview).
    Is there any way the wiki can be configured to link to documents already on the server using the attach functionality?

    An update for anyone in a similar situation.
    Patch 3944727 for 9.0.4.1 that solves this issue: "USER LOV IASM11SHIP EDIT USER LOV SHOULD SHOW THE NICKNAME ATTRIBUTE." However, the patch is mutually exclusive with the latest CPU's and there's no plan to merge the pacthes given the dwindling support for 9.0.4.1. So that patch is pretty much worthless.
    I've been told that this patch is included in newer portal versions, so the real solution is an upgrade.

  • Uploading a Specific file rather than browsing

    My app allows users to create a user-named jpg like so:-
    var enteredimagename:String = imagenameentry.text;
    var file:File = File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath(('assets/images/')+enteredimagename+('.jpg'));
    However I now want to allow a user to upload that specfic file automatically to my server by clicking a button which will simply upload that file WITHOUT having them browse for it. So basically I need it set up so that when the user clicks a button whatever name they type into the imagenameentry.text will be the image that gets uploaded. For example they create an image which they name yahooimage by typing yahooimage into the imagenameentry text input component. Once a button is clicked this will save this image as assets/images/yahooimage.jpg but I want to advance this button click further so that this specific jpg is then set as the file for upload without browsing for it. All the examples I've seen use the browse function though which is not what I want.
    How can this be combined with the filereference method or some other way so that the file to be uploaded can be entered into a textinput component as described above rather than browsed for?

  • Lightroom 4-How to reorganize files by date when choosing to add rather than copy them to Lightroom

    My photos were in disorganized folders on different hard drives. I was able to import them into Lightroom 4 using COPY, and now my folders are reorganized by year and month on my hard drive, which is how I want them. However, I now have a copy of my photos in my catalog and a copy of each photo in my photo folder on my hard drive. This is taking up too much space. Is there a way to have Lightroom automatically import my pictures and reorganize them into folders by date using the ADD option rather than the copy option when importing from my hard drive? Thank you!

    You said:

    Meaning that they are still where they were, scattered, and not catalogued in LR.  PLUS, there is a copy of each file in the place you copied them to when you imported them, and these are the versions of the files that are catalogued in LR.  Right?
    You said:
    However, I now have a copy of my photos in my catalog and a copy of each photo in my photo folder on my hard drive.
    Yes, one set, the original ones, viewable only in Explorer/Finder, the other/duplicate set viewable in LR (and/or also in Explorer/Finder).
    You said:  This is taking up too much space.
    So just delete the original versions, as long as you are sure that you have them all in the copied-to location (where they are catalogued by LR).
    You said:

    As jd_paige says, next time use MOVE instead of COPY.  If you use ADD, they will remain where they are.  Sometimes it is easier to do it this way, and then move/reorganize them once you have them in the catalogue.

  • Cannot change preference for JPG file to open in browser rather than download Mac OS 10.5.8

    I want to view individual jpg files uploaded to my mobileme account. The URL ends in .jpg. I can view the files as webpages in Safari, but with Firefox, my only choice is to download the file. I tried to change the preferences>applications>jpeg picture>to "use other" but the drop down menu goes right back to always ask. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, and restarted my computer. I have two other macs running 10.5.8, and this happens on both. When I type the same URL into my mac running 10.6.3, a dialog box appears that gives me the option of choosing which application to open the file with (in this case Firefox, so that I can view the file in a web page) rather than just downloading the file. The dialog box in the 10.5.8 doesn't give me the option of choosing an app, only "Save File" or "Cancel". I'm sorry if this is long-winded.

    Could any of these apply?
    Installation Restrictions
    Do not install the product if you use any applications, which extend standard Finder
    functionality (such as Path Finder, SNAX, etc.) If you already have some of these applications,
    disable them first, and then install SPSS 13 for Mac OS X. Installation may not be completed
    successfully if the name of any folder in the installation path exceeds 31 characters. This is due
    to a limitation of Installer VISE.
    Updating or Modifying Your Installation
    To add a component, start the installation program from your CD-ROM. Select any new
    components that you want to include. Make sure that every option you want to include is
    selected including any previously installed components.
    To add an SPSS option (Categories, Conjoint, Tables, and so on), start the SPSS 13 License
    Renewal utility. If your license for SPSS Base or an SPSS option has expired you should run
    this utility and enter the new license(s).
    An installation log file is created in the  ~/Library/Logs folder of the destination volume. You
    may use the information in the log file to remove the installed copy of SPSS 13 for Mac OS X.

  • When I am prompted to choose a folder to save downloaded files to, why does 7.0 start the download browser in a random folder rather than the last folder saved to?

    When prompted to choose a destination folder for files that I am saving, I have found that 7.0 doesn't always open the file browser with the last folder I saved to. In previous versions, if I saved a jpg to a specific folder, it would open still directing me to that same folder the next time I was prompted. Now, if I am saving a string of images, there is no telling which folder the browser will be opened to when I am prompted. Very annoying to 1) have to figure out where I am in my filing system and 2) have to work my way through god knows how many folders to get back to where I saved the previous file ten seconds earlier. If this is some kind of smart feature that's making suggestions based on file source history or downloading patterns or whatever, can I turn it off? Here's hoping that you can help, because I really want this to be an easy fix rather than a bad version of your otherwise flawless program or worse yet a deteriorating hard drive.

    Firefox 11+ versions have support via <b>browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite</b> pref to disable to disable the feature to remember the download directory based upon the URL.<br />
    The browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref doesn't exist by default (it is hidden).<br />
    Create a new <b>Boolean</b> pref with the name <b>browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite</b> and set the value to false.

  • Appending files to an existing directory rather than replacing.....

    I am a recent 'SWITCH' user, having fought my way through many reincarnations of that other OS flavour, much to my emotional discomfort.
    One thing I have noticed (and annoys me a little) is that when you copy a directory in OSX to a different location, it looks for duplicates at a 'directory level' rather than a 'file level'.
    eg If I have a directory on another HDD called My Music containing files Song 1 and Song 2 and I wish to transfer a second directory called My Music containing files Song A and Song B and Song 1.
    In Mac OSX, I get a warning saying the HDD already contains the Directory "My Music" do I want to replace?.....if you do, it does just that and copies over the original files....output "Song A, Song B and Song 1"....an exact replacement.
    In the other OS, you would get the message that the Directory already contains "Song 1", do I want to replace.......if I answer yes, the version is replaced but all other files are appended to that directory and output would be "new Song 1, Song 2, Song A and Song B".
    I know that it can be done in OSX like the 'other OS' because I have a small cataloging program that seems to be able to append......is there a simple key-press combination when selecting the files that changes this or a register /preference change that could fix this for me? Would prefer to transfer and dump manually rather than have the OS decide for me!!
    Still have to use the other OS and find this the most infuriating difference between the two flavours of OS (ie Lost data in file transfer operations in OSX!!). You could argue that I need to retrain myself to think differently, but I find this the most difficult thing to get into my head!!
    Thanks...is probably the most basic operation to fix, but please go easy on a 'switching newbie!". Please chuckle silently to yourself!!!
    Thanks
    Gareth

    The "cataloging" app to which you refer is probably handling the issue programatically. In other words, the behavior is programmed, it is not using the Mac OS X default behavior.
    What you probably want to look at is "Sync" software, such as the following apps:
    - ChronoSync.
    - You Syncrhonize.
    - Folders Synchronizer X.
    The sync software area seems to be a mixed bag of applications that could all use improvement. ChronoSync has been one of the highest-rated I've read about. You may also need to consider how Sync software will work if the "other HDD" is formatted for Windows (MS-DOS or FAT32) instead of in Mac OS Extended (aka HFS Plus or HFS+) format.
    When looking for new applications, I recommend searching MacUpdate or Version Tracker. You may want to explore those sites for additional Sync software applications.
    Good luck!

  • Browsing other folders and ext. HDD rather than iTunes and iPhoto - iMovie 09

    Hi all,
    Just wondering if there was any way you can browse other folders within your local hard drive or external hard drive rather than using the default iTunes and iPhoto directories?
    I have audio and images located in other parts of my hard drive, including an external hard drive.
    It would be great to be able to broswe through all my other folders and directories.
    Cheers

    iMovie is part of a suite of apps - iLIfe, so it prefers its 'neighbors'.
    to add files from other locations, simply use MacOS' drag-'n-drop functionality: open a Finder Window, go to the file's location, grab it with the mouse and drop it into your Project Timeline.
    This procedure does NOT guarantee iM accepts 'any' files!

  • Was wondering if it is possible to sync the folders in mac mail on my imac to my mac book pro rather than recreating them

    was wondering if it is possible to sync the folders in mac mail on my imac to my mac book pro rather than recreating them

    There are two standard protocols for receiving email, POP and IMAP. In the POP (Post Office Protocol) when messages are "read" by your email client (Mail) they are downloaded and stored on the reading computer and deleted from the POP server. When you are using IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) the messages remain on the IMAP server until they are deleted. IMAP was created for exactly the situation you are trying to achieve. For example Apple's iCloud (formerly me.com, formerly mac.com) uses IMAP protocol. So whether I access my email on my Mac, my iPhone, my iPad, or via webmail I have access to all the files in all the various mailboxes automatically because they are all seeing and using the same online mailboxes. If I delete a message on any of the varioius devices it is deleted on all of the various devices.
    Whether you can use IMAP protocol or not depends on your email host and whether they have an IMAP server or not. Many ISPs do not offer IMAP because they do not want to bear the expense of the additional disk space required to store the IMAP messages. As I mentioned before Apple's free email service is by default IMAP. Google Mail offers a somewhat non-standard IMAP service. It works with Apple's email client, Mail, but it is just a bit "different".
    Personally I resisted using IMAP for years. Largely because I had always used POP and was comfortable with it. Once I got an iPhone and needed to synch my email between my computer and iPhone I realized IMAP was "the only way to go."
