I just received my s3 couple days ago having some problems finding answers,made some phone calls already heck of time to activate then would not receive any phone calls now I am trying to upload pictures to pc via usb

Once you plug it in, make sure you are in mass storage mode. You can check this in the notification bar, if it's not, press the notification and you should get the option to change it. You can then find your phone on your computer (it will show up as a removable drive) and drag and drop files where you want them.

Can I upload photos directly onto ATV via the USB port on the back of the ATV. In other words is it possible to bypass the computer and iTunes? I've been trying but can't figure it out.

The short answer is no. All ATV content has to come from either an iTunes library or directly from the iTunes store on the ATV. The USB port on the ATV is essentially useless to the end user. About the only thing it's good for is to connect a USB fan if your equipment cabinet is too hot.

Can't print from pc to mx922 via usb cable.

I have a mx922 and I'm running windows 8.1
Can't print from the pc using a usb cable but the 922 will print wireless.
Is there a setting I'm missing?

There is not a specific setting to make it so that you can print via USB; what error or message do you receive when trying to print? Also, do you have another USB cable that you can use to connect the printer to your computer?

I want to sync my podcast from my MacBook to my iPod via USB. I do not want to download them individually over WiFi due to a large number or podcasts.
I do not want to stream as I listen to my podcasts offline. I want my podcasts to sync like they use to. I just want all the podcasts that are on my MacBook on my iPod, not in a list ready to stream or ready to download. I want the actual podcast to copy to my iPod in full via USB. I don't understand why apple have chosen to take this option away. I do not want to covert all my podcasts to "music", because then I don't get the advantage of the podcast app where I can listen to podcasts a 1.5x or 2x speed, among other features.

Sync mail from Outlook to iPhone via USB Cable

I have a problem by synchronizing my iPhone with my Outlook 2007.
I want to synchronize my Outlook mail, contacts and calendar by using iTunes.
I have set iTunes to synchronize via USB Cable and it works for the contacts and calendar but I can’t see my mail.
I assume the mail should be at the bottom “Mail” on my iPhone?
I have set iTunes to sync mail to Outlook but I can’t se anything
How do I set op iTunes to sync my mail to the phone?
Please help as I can only find answers for problems with Push server….

iTunes does not support syncing email account mailboxes and messages with an email client on your computer. The option under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes for email accounts is for transferring the email account settings from a supported application on your computer to the iPhone's Mail client only so you don't have to manually create the account.
If you want to keep mailboxes synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account, you need an IMAP account which is specifically designed for this.

Can you import video footage from a tape camera via usb into final cut?

I have new macbook, late 2008, and I am missing the firewire port.
I have a tape camera so I cannot import video into imovie via usb.
If I bought final cut express, could I be able to do such an import?

I am uploading users via transaction users_gen from a csv file, all the users are uploaded correctly but I see that there are some special charater (which we have in german language) are not cpoied correctly for example the last name is copied as
B#hm instead of Böhm. Although my logon language was German only.
Any help is appreciated !!!

Hello,
Right click on your file, choose "open with", choose notepad. Then in notepad, "save as" and in encoding choose unicode.
But it's just a quick trick to convert your file in an unicode one. There should be an option in the editor you use to directly save csv in unicode encoding.

Problem importing photos from PC, and charging via USB

I can't seems to import images from my Windows 7 computer to my new iPad via the USB cord. I'm using the latest version of iTunes.
The photos are in a designated folder in My Pictures. In iTunes I go to "Sync Photos From .." and chose the folder. Then click on Sync. iTunes says is it syncing the phoos and downloading, but the images are nowhere to be found.
What am I doing wrong?
By the way, I have another question: Why when the iPad is plugged into the PC is there a message beside the battery symbol that the iPad isn't charging?

Is there any way to retrieve notes from a broken iphone via usb connection?

I have an old broken iphone 3g and I want to retrieve the notes from my old phone; however, there is absolutely no way I can turn the phone on and manually email the notes to myself. Is there any way I can retrieve the notes from a file transfer system once synching up the iphone to my computer? If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it!

If the phone doesn't power on and isn't seen by the computer then you wouldn't be able to pull data off it with the USB connection to your computer.
You could pursue data recovery if the notes are very valuable, but the cost can be similar to having data recovered from a failed computer drive(possibly prohibitively expensive).

Transfering Divx movies from Macbook to PS3 via usb

I recently purchased a PS3 in hopes of viewing my divx movies I currently have on my Macbook on it. I know I can stream directly to the PS3 and I will deal with that in time. However every time I transfer a movie to a usb stick and insert it in the PS3, the PS3 shows the stick as empty.
Is there a program or file I need to have to make these viewable?

12Grain, simple solution. As long as your videos are in a compatible format for the PS3 you can get them to play off your FAT32 formatted USB. Go the Video menu on PS3, highlight your USB stick, press the TRIANGLE button, toggle Display All, and you'll see all your videos.

Printing from Mini to HP2100 via USB

I'm new to the MAC world and having an issue getting a HP Laserjet 2100 printer to communicate properly with a MAC mini (OS ver 10.5.4).
The first job sent to the printer prints correctly, any subsequent jobs seem to hang with the following message displayed by the print queue, " Gutenprint page 1, 26%..."
If the Mini is restarted the job completes printing after the restart, but the next job sent to the printer hangs with the same message.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Loaded and installed the Gutenprint 5.2.2 drivers, unplugged printer, deleted the printer, plugged in back in, and the printer was automatically discovered and configured with the new drivers. Works like a champ.

My new HD with a cloned system and apps won't boot the G5 when installed. The clone drive is being journal formatted via usb with OS9 checked in disk utility. First time around, I didn't check OS9, and the G5 didn't boot from the clone drive. Advice?

My system is a G5 PPC with 2x 2Gig 64bit processors (dual core). 6 gig of ram on board, running OSX 10.4.11. I recently discovered the main drive was actually a laptop drive someone had stuffed in there! (The machine was given to me - yes, really). So I bought a nice new WD Caviar Black 500Gig HD. Hooked it up via usb adapter (G5 won't see it internally). Disk Utility saw it, formatted it with Journal option selected, but not OS9 install.
After that, I cloned the data on the slow laptop drive complete with all the applications onto the Caviar HD.Sure enough, the G5 can see the Caviar HD with everything on it.
However, when putting the Caviar HD in where the laptop drive once was, the G5 would not see the disk at all.
So now, I'm reformatting the drive again but this time with OS9 checkbox ticked in Disk Utility. After this, I will install it into the machine alongside the offensively sluggish laptop drive, and as long as the G5 sees the Caviar HD internally, I will clone from there, rather than via USB hookup.
I hope this way the system will speed up! There's no way the machine is running as it can do with a pokey little laptop drive in it spinning at 5k surely!
I am assuming the Tiger 10.4.11 is genuine (I think it is - the X symbol is present on the folder), but I don't have the original disk...
Any suggestions? Has anyone had this experience?

Hi BDAqua... downstairs away from unit at the moment. It's a Western Digital Caviar Black 500Gig, twin processors, SATA3 / 6, 64Meg cache on-board... nice. Very quite with minimal vibration (slight).
However as I'm here I can announce I've solved the problem! The G5 had an original Seagate Barracuda HDD on board as a slave drive. I backed up the dat off that onto the Caviar Black via USB adapter. Then Disk Utility wiped the Barracuda safely.
Then, I installed SuperDuper! to clone the data from the sluggish laptop master drive onto the Barracuda; I also told SuperDuper! to boot the G5 from the newly image Barracuda.
After it had done the job I switched off the machine (it may well have rebooted - I was downstairs watching England fail at Eurovision Song Contest), took out the laptop drive and started up the G5.
Mercifully, it rebooted fine! All details and programs are intact and functioning right down to my screensaver.
I can report that the machine is noticably (considerably in the case of Logic8 and JamPack) faster and swifter at sourcing data.
Everything is backed up and I now have a speedier G5! Hurrah!!
I now have a spare 80Gig drive to hand in a caddy (originally a spare backup) that was made about the same time as the G5. It's my guess that it would fit the G5 internally and probably be seen ok by the system.
It's worth a try. The Caviar Black will have to go into a caddy and become my backup disk. It has a clone of the OS and all apps, so if something goes badly wrong, I'm safe.
Just a thought: The more advanced Leopard and Snow Leopard OS may struggle in G5's because the OS itself may require faster HDD's that cannot go into the G5 normally? I see many reports of Snow Leopard running like a bag of bones in people's G5's. Perhaps it's something to do with data retrieval speeds?
I'm sticking with Tiger!
