Uploading in Lightroom

I have been uploading some web galleries with lightroom for a horse show.  The first gallery I uploaded, went just fine.  However, the others I have uploaded, I have noticed  I get an error of  "An error occurred sending the file: a response was not received in time."
I have tried uploading with a different ftp client, but when I do that, some of the  thumbnails do not get uploaded (the majority are there, there are just 2-4 with each gallery that are being left out).  Does anyone know how to fix this error?

Thanks for the response.
Picasa actually works just fine with both DNG and Nikon Raw files, and when you upload from Picasa, it just automatically creates JPG's.  It's very convenient, but I prefer the editing tools in Lightroom.
The only solution I see now is to do as you say, but then I end up with two sets of photos which is a pain.

  • How Do I upload from Lightroom and Bridge to the Creative Cloud

How Do I upload from Lightroom and Bridge to the Creative Cloud?

Adobe is still failing on this very important issue!
They said that their Creative Cloud Connection app would be ready in May/June, and here we are in October!
I wish Adobe would learn to not release products that are not ready to be used, my 20GB are useless to me unbtil they do something that integrates Br, Lr, Id & Ps specifically with the cloud. I really think that we should start charging interest for the money that we have been loaning Adobe for their developement process.

i am trying to upload my lightroom presets to the cloud but it says that it doesn't support these kind of files. I just watched a webinar with a presenter and it worked fine. She was using a Mac and I am on windows but that shouldn't make a differenece. I also am not seeing the creativecloud icon on the top right in my photoshop like heres had. any ideas?

no because it is not a lightroom question. speciifically relating to the cloud-where is the icon to connect in photoshop on windows and why can't i upload my presets to the cloud in my files folder

  • Cannot upload in Lightroom 3

For at least a month I have been unable to upload pictures to a web gallery. I'm getting an "Access denied" error message. There are no problems on my website server, and I have not changed any settings. I'm using the same settings that have worked for me for several years. How can I fix this?

If nothing has changed, try a preference file reset: Resetting (or 'Trashing') the Lightroom Preferences file - Lightroom Forums

  • Uploading via lightroom 4 not working

I have recently purchased canon 5d mk3 and have shot in both raw and jpg.  On attempting to upload the images through lightroom 4 I get the message that no preview images are available.  What seems to be the problem?  Better still, what is the solution?  Regards GB

If you haven't done so download and install LR4.3, which is the latest release. Next go into LR Preferences and under 'General' check 'Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate files,' since I assume you want to import both raw CR2 and JPEG files. If you still get the same message connect the camera direct with a USB cable and try importing again.

All of these answers were helpful - I tried the walk throughs but cannot see where I have gone wrong - the link is active but directs to account error message rather than the Lightroom flash gallery folder saved in Sites on iDisc.
    http://web.mac.com/miffy.ohara/Site/WINTER.html
Can save to my iDisc sites folder but how do I get Adobe Lightroom to upload a web site page to my .Mac/iDisk web site?
What do I enter in the "Configure FTP File Transfer" window that asks for :
    "Server"? web.mac.com
"Username/password" ? "[email protected]" or just "mymacname?" and login password?
"Server path" ? /volumes/dotmacusername/Web/Sites/ (times out if I browse to find path)
Can any one post a work flow/walk through for this newbie?
    Thank you in advance.

Joomla is open source and works on the same basis as Drupal. The idea is that you don't download it to your computer, but rather you purchase hosting with a host that supports open source like Joomla and Drupal and you then load it on your server directly from your host and create your site from there.
If you want to add pages created with iWeb to your existing Joomla site, then place a link to the other pages in your Joomla site and then create pages in iWeb, publish to a folder and then upload to your server. Place the iWeb files into your root folder so that they are visible and then the link to the pages from your Joomla site should work.

  • Uploading to Lightroom

I am fed up with the upload times from my Nikon D4 and Nikon D800E cameras to Lightroom, they have the latest firware....yet it is taking 15 hours sometimes much longer to upload 10 Gig of images it is time i can ill afford....im tempted to dump my Lr....can anyone help

Lots of options if you have the "need for speed" in ascending order.
    1. As per gvb279... use a card reader.
    2. Use a USB 3 card reader on a USB 3 port.
    2. Use a card reader and a specialist product like Downloader Pro (Win). The images are transferred as fast as the hardware will allow. The import to Lightroom is then superquick, depending on preview settings mostly.  You can start working on images in Lightroom as soon as the import to Lightroom starts rather than waiting 15 hours. Somepeople have a setup where they are processing multiple cards at the same time ..
    3. In the field I use the Hyperdrive Colorspace UDMA drive (with SSD drive...speed, resilience  and low battery needs). I place the card in the drive and press a button. This just takes a few mins per card, so in the field you have your original card /s  and a backup. When I get back to base I use DownloaderPro to transfer  from the Colorspace drive to my workstation. This task is now transferring my images as fast as the SSD drive / usb connection / workstation drive will allow. In my case normally a few minutes. I am not sure the Colorspace UDMA drive is available anymore...here is a review from Michael Reichmann http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/accessories/hyper-udma.shtml .
4 Using a camera as the input for transferring to a PC/MAc or Lightroom requires the camera battery to drive the process.  I prefer to be using this time to be re-charging my batteries for the next session / trip / project.

  • Ftp upload via Lightroom mobile with metadata?

I've been asked to do a job where I take photos on my mobile and upload directly to an ftp with metadata. Is that something I can do with Lightroom mobile? Or would I have to revert to my laptop after the shoot and do it that way?

OK, let's assume you have the Dropbox app installed on your mobile device. Then in LrMobile , you go to the image and tap the Share icon. The second item is Open In, and you should see Dropbox listed. Choose it and Dropbox's app then gives you a Save button which uploads the adjusted picture.
I've not checked if this includes metadata, and it seems to be one image at a time. I only used it for getting adjusted screenshots from my iPad to someone, so whether it works for you is something you will have to assess, and maybe something else will be more suitable. My guess is that if you load an iOS FTP app (lots of them around) you would go through a similar workflow, Share button and then Share or Open In.

  • Flickr upload help lightroom v4 last version

    Hi
    i have lightroom v4 64bit last version
and in flickr i created some collections and sets
how can i upload photos in these collections and sets ?
    thanks

I'm having the same problem. Whenever I try to use iPhoto to upload photos to Flickr, it takes a loooooong time, gets hung up a lot, is forever "pending" and is just a huge waste of time! Really frustrating.
I'm running OSX, 10.6.8 and I'm using iPhoto '11 version 9.1.5. I'm uploading the photos at full resolution (3648x2746px), which obviously is going to take longer than uploading smaller versions, but it's not THAT big - shouldn't take all day. At first I thought this problem might be related to some kind of problems with internet connection, but I've tried in a lot of different places, including at home, where i have a great internet connection and normally no problems.
I've been struggling with this for a few months and it's totally driving me nuts - if I can't figure this out soon, I am going to quit using iPhoto entirely.
Does anybody use iPhoto with Flickr successfully?
