Uploading onto server problems

i am trying to upload pages onto my server but each page is
taking a long time (the size of the page is not large, one photo on
each max 500 pixels wide) whenever it is "uploading" to the server
a message states that it has failed to complete, so the time has
been wasted as the page has not uploaded.
i have tried a number of times and surrely it should not take
so long to upload or fail.
can anyone help?

Upload to server problems

I am trying to upload one of my sites to online. After I put in the server's information it says "Adobe Dreamweaver connected to your web server successfully." However it won't allow me to save and brings me to the tab of version control and says i'm not allowed to use the option none for access. How do I fix this?

Saving and uploading are 2 different things. Saving is something that happens on your local machine where your site is located and uploading it putting the saved file onto your remote server. If you are not able to save, then this is a permissions issue on your local machine where you are trying to save to.
As far as your version control issue. Unless you are working within a team and have a need for it, I would simply disable it. If it's something you need, you may need to provide more details about the setup and the error to allow us to help you figure it out.

Upload onto non-adobe site

I keep uploading onto my server with FTP and had no problems for a long time, but now it will not upload any new features I've changes

I also have paid for "Plus"
, and have space to upload more.

Swf is not working properly when upload to server

I develop 1.swf which is having 3 buttons each one having
anather .swf to call 2.swf, 3.swf respectively.
This application is running perfectly on my PC, but
While uploading the swf to server the 2.swf and 3.swf is
not running. Can any one tell how to recover from this kind
of problem.

why is that we insist on seeing the source file ?
There is no one way of doing things in flash and no one can
help
you based on "does not work description".
This is way to broad of a subject to even try to guess.
Same as asking "my car does not work, what's up with
that"....
Please upload the problematic file and provide url for us to
check.
Otherwise you need to try to troubleshoot it yourself as we
can't
guess from here what possibly is wrong with that file.

Images and graphics in PDF turn black upon upload onto a website

Hi there!
I have a problem with a pdf file that I have uploaded onto a website in the process of creating a self published book. It appears fine when I view it as a pdf prior to upload but, once I upload it, some of the images are replaced by black boxes. This seems to be the case no matter what browser is used. Any ideas of the cause or how this can be fixed? the pdf is a compilation of a number of student pdf's that I combined into one so, I don't have the original files used to create the pdf (in design, etc).

Here is an example PDF, I had to take a screen shot so I could clear out the customer data. This is before we upload it to the investors website. Keep in mind this is a single page out of hundreds that look fine.

Waiting on server problem

I have an intermittent problem with FTP on CS6 that is widely reported on the Internet. When I try to upload files CS6 hangs with a "waiting on server ..." message. How do I fix this bug?

sent this to adobe via the bug report form. they got back to me and asked me to try the following, which seems to have worked! give it a shot.
Go to Site category in preferences dialog.
Increase the FTP time out time from 30 sec to higher value. Let us say 180 sec.
Hit apply and close.
I tried this and it worked for a while but here were are again. i was dealing with this a year ago, and was already dealing with it for a year before this post, and i'm still dealing with it. Multiple macs, multiple servers.

Help needed with header and upload onto business catalyst

Can someone help with a problem over a header please?
I have inserted a rectangle with a jpeg image in background, in the 'header' section, underneath the menu. It comes up fine on most pages when previsualised, going right to the side of the screen, but stops just before the edge on certain pages. I have double checked that I have placed it in the right place in relation to the guides on the page.
That's one problem.
The second problem is that I tried to upload onto business catalyst, which got to 60% and refused to go any further, saying it couldn't find the header picture, giving the title and then u4833-3.fr.png. The picture is in the right folder I have double checked. And it isn't a png. Does it have to be ?
And the third problem is that I got an email following my upload from business catalyst in Swedish. I am living in France.

How can I check the preview in other browsers before I publish a provisional site with BC?
The rectangle width issue happens on certain pages but not others. The Welecom page is fine when the menu is active, also the contact page, but others are slightly too narrow. Changing the menu spacing doesn’t help - I was already on uniform but tried changing to regular and back.
In design mode the rectangle is set to the edge of the browser, that’s 100%browser width right?
Re BC I have about 200 images on 24 different pages and it seems to be having difficulty uploading some of them. But it has managed a couple I named with spaces but not others I named with just one name.
Is there an issue on size of pictures ? If I need to replace is there a quick way to rename and relink or do I have to insert the photos all over again?
I’m a novice with Muse with an ambitious site !

Answering the questions :
- Have you checked the preview in Muse and also in other browsers ?
- Does the rectangle width issue happens when menu is active , or in any specific state , Try to change the menu with uniform spacing and then check.
- In design view the rectangle is set to 100% browser width ?
With publishing :
- Please try to rename the image file and then relink
- If it happens with other images as well , see if all the image names includes strange characters or spaces.
- Try again to publish
With e-mail from BC :
- Under preferences , please check the country selected.
- If you have previously created partner account in BC and selected country and language then it would follow that, please check that.

Bridge CS4 Server problem- slide show not loading

I have created a slide show in CS4 and emdedded the index code in my gallery page, created in Dreamweaver CS4. I have used an iframe within a DIV tag.
Preview works fine in both Chrome and IE. However, once uploaded to Server, all that can be seen is a grey screen.
I have contacted the server Heart Internet to see if they can help but as yet no idea.
I was just wondering if anyone has come across this before and if so, is there a quick fix I can implement.
I am basic but ok with HTML, and can insert code, if given it, but no good at the problem solving side of code writing.
Any ideas would be really appreciated

It sounds as if for some bizarre reason, the transition is causing the player buffer to empty out.
This happens on certain - usually older - players when sequential cells are set as non sequential in compiling.
(I had this one bite me - hard - recently, although from a different application).
Best way to check this is to go get a copy of the excellent PGCEdit (shareware) and load the compiled disc.

Find the main timeline for the slideshow, and double click it. (see attached image)
The "chapters" will be listed, and we need to see these ticked as sequential playback, or seamless.
If there is no tick, add one between each track, save the disc & reburn with IMGBurn (freeware/Donationware)

For some reason, certain chipsets seem to create a gap when transitioning a chapter marker on a timeline with a single sequential audio stream when the chapter is incorrectly set to non seamless.
This may not be what is happening here, but I think it is worth a look.

PS CS3 Extended Student Edition disc won't upload onto Computer!

I bought the PS CS3 Extended Student Edition and I have registered on the Adobe website to get my serial number which all went fine, but when I put the Disc in the drive, it does not appear on My Computer,Desk Top for me to open and upload photoshop to my computer! I have put the disc into another hard drive and attached it to my monitor but still nothing comes up! I have tried it on a completely different computer and it appears then, just not on mine! My computer seems to be working fine as I am able to upload other discs to it!
Please can anyone help or has anyone had this problem in the past?

When did this start? 3.3? I've been a regular educational buyer. The most recent we have is CS3.0 (the suite) and that came with the serial. Maybe it just depends on the educational vendor.
I'm not doubting that Hayley has a legitimate license. But based on her terminology ('
disc won't upload onto Computer', '
put the disc into another hard drive') she may not be living in perfect harmony with computers. She may do well to snag the assistance of a fellow student to aid in the installation. They still have a good size population of 'nerds' in schools these days to choose from, right? :)

WebCam Uploaded FLV File Problems

I have a Flash project in which the user records a video with
their webcam in Flash. The video is transmitted to Flash
Communications Server as an FLV file, and I leave it there to be
played later.
1. Because I have the quality set high (90), the file is huge
(~80 KBytes/sec). Is there any way that I can compress the video
either client-side while it uploads or server-side when it gets
there?
2. One idea that I had was to transcode the video server-side
to another format in hopes of improving the compression.
Unfortunately, none of the transcoding or compression engines
recognize the FLV as a valid file. I tried On2, ffmpeg, Riva,
Sorenson, etc. The FLV does play ok and seems valid, but these
tools fail when trying to convert it.

To decrease the bitrate, see the docs for camera.setMode,
camera.setRate, and camera.setQuality.
Transcoding flv files created by FMS is a tough one. The
problem is that the audio is encoded with Nellymoser's Asao codec,
with is closed and proprietary. At the moment, the only way to
leagally obtain the codec is to buy Nellymoser's conversion
utility, whick comes with a hefty price tag.

Send email with attachment, without upload to server

I'm desperately seeking an answer to this question - but current threads don't appear to give a clear answer. Does anyone know how to do this, and if so, would they mind sharing the code? Would really be appreciated.

How about explaining your problem first? Especilly the "upload to server" part, since you have to send your email to a mail server. That's how it works.

Up Loading to server problem

Im not very expert on upload to server, but i manages some times before with Html (never tried catalyst before).
With catalyst I have uploaded the deploy-to-web folder and changed the main.html to index.html
The page seems to start loading but it stops at the loader without loading. On the run local version it works perfeect...

Maybe is a problem with the folder? dont know... it just seems it is not loading the swf file :-(

How to fix "server problem" error message when trying to use PhoneGap build service.

I have a site that is now optimized for mobile devices and want to use the PhoneGap Build service in Dreamweaver CS6 to make a native app. Unfortunately, I keep getting the "We seem to be having server problems." error message when I try to create a new project. I did notice that the configuration file was created at the site root. I've seen a few other similar threads on this, but no solution. I've checked on any firewall issues (none) and know that the PhoneGap server is not down. The problem is on my end.

Photoshop CS2: name server problem: Is there a solution?

Hi!
I have Photoshop CS2. I can't start the program anymore because of the already well known name server problem... (DEAR ADOBE!! HOW COULD YOU!!! )
Now, what can I do? As far as I know I purchased the software for an unlimited amount of time (thanks to the fact that there weren't any clouds, halleluja!)
Can anybody help me, please? Is there a way "around"?
