Uploading Photos in MySpace or Webshots.
I have looked on your bulletin board - just don't see the answer I am looking for yet, so I will post a new TOPIC on this subject and see if it gets an answer
I have a NEW iMac 10-5 leopard - but its not reacting correctly with two sites I use frequently --- www.webshots.com and myspace.
I wanted to upload photos to these two sites - here is what I get when I try.
I have the site open to upload - choose "browse" to find the files, then I select the files - click "Add" and NOTHING HAPPENS --- the files do NOT appear in the box intended for upload.
I have switched and tried aol, safari, and firefox - none of these work - I can't believe that the problem is suddenly with "these sites" when I can do the work fine from my old PC --
I went out on a limb - purchasing a huge (24 inch 2.8 ghz intel core 2 extreme -- 4 gb system) only for it not to work on two of my FAVORITE sites.
I am a photographer and WANT TO UPLOAD my photos --
HELP!!!!!!
I don't know if I understand the question.
having had a PC all my life, the external hard drive was connected to the PC - and I stored files there (in various named folders such as "September 2007 .. October 2007 .. and November 2007") within those folders I have my photos separated into other folders that correspond to the event that the group of photos were taken such as "steelers/ravens" for Monday Night Football game.
When I uploaded photo files to webshots or myspace before on a PC - I just located the file - choose it - and it would be 'uploaded'
I already uploaded the file you recommended for webshots - and I have sent webshots a request to give me instructions on how to use it - obviously they haven't answered yet - but truth be known, I don't understand how to use this program any better than choosing the file from my list of .jpg files to upload.
Sorry if I am not getting it - I am trying!!

Uploading Scanned Photos to Myspace
When I try and upload a scanned photo to Myspace or Photobucket.com , My mac tells me it is not able to/doesn't support file etc . I save them as Jpegs after I scan them.. But I cannot upload. Also, when making seperate albums in IPhoto, They seem to be saving as doubles into the folders.. Lets say I drag 50 photos into a newly created folder named "Friends".. It will save double the amount (100). Why is this..

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
My mac tells me it is not able to/doesn't support file etc
Where do you get this message? From the Web Browser? From iPhoto?
Have a look at this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4644632
User Amy Stossell solved a problem with MySpace on it.
As to your other issue, I'm afraid I don't understand where you are seeing this problem - albums hold pics, Folders only hold albums, so I'm not sure quite what you're trying to say.

Uploading photos to websites i.e. facebook/myspace
I cant upload photos to any websites since installing iphoto 8, does anyone know why?
Why on earth would you bother going to that trouble when
1. It only accesses your Originals, and misses any edited pictures that you've done.
2. It's slow and unwieldy rooting through the Event folders
3. It risks damaging the Library
4. You have all of these:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Easiest Way To Upload Photos Via iPhone?
I would like to be able to upload photos almost immediately after taking them with my iPhone.
But am wondering what is the best solution.
Say I'm posting a bulletin on MySpace titled "A Great Day at The Beach" and just took a picture of my friends around a fire-pit and want to include that photo.
(This wouldn't be the only scenario of course)
But your thoughts and suggestions are highly appreciated. Thank you. Thanks for the reply.
I managed to save the photobucket uploader email to my contacts on my iPhone for easy uploading which is really a easy to use. However, even with those uploaded photos I can't manage to upload to them a bulletin or anywhere else unless its a "Comment" since MySpace has an integrated "Add Photo From Photobucket" button when writing comments. An okay feature but not one I've really used or plan on using.
What you mentioned, about Facebook allowing cell phone uploads to a direct album seems like a great feature. Plus Facebook having a home page made just for the iPhone gives a more tempting reason to switch to Facebook. I'm highly considering it now, though most if not all my friends are on MySpace. -
I can't upload photos to the internet
I have search this site and haven't found the answer yet so, here goes...
I can't seem to upload any photo files to the internet(I've tried Shutterfly and MySpace). Just a couple of months ago I was able to do this with no problems, now, suddenly, no matter what size the file I cannot do it. I know how to decrease the pixel size. I know how to export the files to my desktop and to make sure they are jpeg files. I've tried using the following browsers: Explorer, Safari and Firefox. Help! I have a DSL connection. This is not new. What else could be happening? What tool/service do you use to upload your photos ? Is it a particular webpage or a service ? The server to which you are uploading could also be the problem. I had issues with uploading photos to eBay for instance for a while, sometimes a new software on the selling plateform or an update of the internet browser can lead to this (usually it is temporary until someone fixes it).

When I am first looking at my newly uploaded photos in "Library," a box appears near the bottom of the photo that says "Loading". While it is loading, I usually think the photo looks "good". After the photo is done loading, it looks more washed out. Is there some sort of setting that I might have on (or that I need to turn on) so that this does not happen. I have Lr4. Thanks.
Hi Tracy,
There used to be a way to see if poster was new to the forum.., anyway - welcome to the forum.
As I was alluding to, biggest differences in initial display are due to:
* Camera calibration profile.
* Auto-exposure/contrast settings (for which compensations have been auto-applied in camera, but not in Lightroom).
So, choose a matching camera calibration profile (whether that's an option or not depends on your camera model - they're available for many but not all models) if you prefer one of them over "Adobe Standard" (the factory default profile).
Also, your camera covers for underexposure due to non-optimal auto-exposure/contrast setting, Lightroom doesn't, so your options are:
* turn it off in camera.
* learn to compensate manually (or automatically via a plugin) in Lightroom.
Of course, in addition to preferred defaults (alt-click big "reset" button in dev module), come up with some presets which are appropriate for your druthers and type of photography.. e.g. these will compensate Nikon ADL settings:

I am trying to upload photos from my digital camera. Every time I try to plug it into my USB, the following error message comes up: "Because a usb device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled."
I don't have anything else plugged into my MBP, so I am confused as to what's going on. This problem has never happened before. MBP is less than a year old - about 9 months old. HELPGet a powered USB hub.

I'm a seller on eBay and very new to Mac. I just started to list an item when I got to the area of uploading pictures of an item to my listing. I cannot figure out how this is done. I downloaded pictures from my camera to iPhoto and they apear not only in my iPhoto library but in an eBay folder/album I created. When I go to upload photos I cannot find my photos in either the Library or the eBay album. I've tried using both the basic uploader and and standard uploader choices provided by eBay.
While running iPhoto you'll need to select the pictures you want to use for eBay and then select Export from the File menu. The Export Dialog box has several options and I believe the second option is File Export - that's the option you want to choose. Now you can select the picture quality, size, and export. The file selector will appear so you can indicate the folder you want the pictures to be exported into. Now you can take the next step, sending them to eBay.

I cannot upload photos from iPhoto 9 to Flikr. When I try, I get the message "the login details or auth token passed were invalid." I am using iPhoto 9 version 8.1.2, and my OS is 10.9.5. My computer is a MacBook Pro. I do not have this trouble with my iMac. This trouble started before I updated to OS10.9.5. I do not have this problem when uploading to FaceBook or sending by e-mail.
This problem started when I tried to upload some photos after hitting the "use other account" tab. This took me to a Flikr site asking me for permission to make my iPhoto information available to others. I clicked "yes," and then I changed my mind and clicked "no." I haven't been able to upload to Flikr since.
I searched Flikr and Yahoo for a solution, and Yahoo says the trouble is in iPhoto. I checked my Flikr account, and iPhoto extensions are enabled.
I need to upload some school and alumni photos, so I sure could use some help. I am Not computer proficient. Thank you.1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now? -
I am trying to upload photos from my Windows 7 desktop, and was told to go to the iCloud control panel and drag the photos into the
upload to photo stream icon. I have downloaded the contol panel several times and cannot find the icon to get this done. HELPIf you're trying to add photos to photo stream on your PC, you drag them to your photo stream uploads folder (normally My Pictures\Photo Stream\Uploads).

I recently upgraded to iphoto 11 v. 9.2 and now iphoto crashes every time I try to upload photos. I have tried to upload from my camera via usb, from my iphone, and from the memory card directly and it crashes every time. What can I do to fix this problem?
It was the folder that I trashed.

I have a G5 which I intend to keep.
Now that I have updated my iphone 4s to iOS 7.0.
I cannot add music to my iphone or upload photos to iphoto.
I have the last itunes 10.6.3. which was supported by apple.
itunes will not interact with my iphone on any level.
Apple made all the equipment I use.
Bentley and Ferrari etc do not stop making parts for their cars?
The least Apple could is.
A. Update itunes to run on a G5
Regarding iOS 7.0 you have totally lost the plot.
We buy apple why?
Quality.
Intuitive interface.
Stable software.
Design.
All that Steve Jobs consider sacrosanct.
Quality is about ongoing support longevity of product.
Its not about trying to sell to every person on the planet, others are way ahead of you.
So try respective the customers you have, it wont be long before theirs a better operating system and your lead in hardware is marginal.

Glyn Evans
My post on facebook this morning.
If you have an iPhone or iPad do not update to ISO 7 unless you want an operating system that looks like windows 8. The graphics looks like it was designed by a artistically challenged mongoose and the operating system is not intuitive something apple users expect. Overly complicated ugly and generally change for the sake of apples paranoia since the death of Steve Jobs. You need to update iTunes to 11.1 on your PC

How do i upload photo's from my computer to my itunes?
I have an iPod Nano (the type with a video camera)
Software Version: 1.0.2
Capacity: 14.88
My friend has the same iPod and she has uploaded photos into a photo album on her iPod, but she can't remember how she did it!
I want to do the same, but i am unsure how!
Please help.I agree with planb77.
Try this:
-make a new folder on your desktop called sync to ipod.
-copy your photos into that folder
In iTunes when your iPod is connected click on it under devices on the left.
This opens the summary
-click the photo tab at the top
-make sure there is a check next to sync photos
-in the drop down section select choose folder, this opens a new window
-navigate to your desktop and click on your sync to ipod folder
-click choose folder or ok on the bottom right
-click apply then sync on the bottom right.
That will get them on the iPod.
Now when you want to add or remove photos from your ipod, just change the contents of the folder on your desktop and sync through the photos tab again.
Hope this helps.

When i try to upload photos from my iphone iphoto freezes after a few have been uploaded, force quit shows that it is still running. I have left it running for days with no change. In addition Places is continually running, would this have an effect?
Help much appreciated. The next step is to repair your main library: apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

A renaming problem in lightroom
Somehow when importing a few hundred images, I managed not to follow my usual convention (retain the camera's image number, prefix with a N for Nikon or an F for Fuji, then add -<ShootLocation> so that a name might look like this: "F-6400-Montana-201
