Uploading photos to online print companies

I upload lots of photos for printing from iPhoto to various online printing companies, mainly photo box. They use an aurigma uploader. I have installed Lion  and despite having reinstalling the java as requested I can no longer drag and drop files into the uploader. When I try to it simply opens the file in Safari, I am probably missing something really simple, can anyone help?

George
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
To upload to MySpace or any site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser. Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Also, for 10.5 users: If you use the extended Open or Attach dialogue (with Column View) you can scroll to the bottom of the Shortcuts and find the Media browser there. Select any pic you want from there.

  • Uploading photos to online print services.

Can anyone tell me where my main iPhoto library file is stored - the one that contains all my photos as I've edited them? All I can find is the dizzying number of sub-files arranged by date, and these are largely useless to me (as I try to upload to Ritz Pix) since so many of them do not reflect the editing I've done to them.
    Thanks for your help.

  • IPhoto - uploading photo books for printing

iPhoto crashes when trying to upload a Photobook for printing...driving me mad!
    any ideas follks.
The Photobook assembles, but wont upload.
    Thanks in advance..

This was an excellent suggestion previewing the book at
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 -
and then booting up the computer in safe mode. When I did this I found that several of the fonts had changed and would have ruined the book as they were too big or small or didn't fit the text boxes. I repeated this process until I was satisfied. The pdfs were fine.
Best of all the book was printed exactly as I laid it out.
Apple's turnaround was amazing: just over a week! Really good for getting a book to a small West Coast island in Canada.
Even though Apple's book production is very good it is limited in layouts for each style. BLURB offers a bigger range of layout options as well as a choice of printing papers which is a nice touch. I didn't use them this time because some posters had had delays in getting their books and I had to meet an birthday deadline.
Kudos to Apple for making the book in such a short time.

  • Will not upload photos to order prints

I have tried several times to send photos from an album to be printed by Apple. The process goes well until the last step of "uploading". Once there after seveveral minutes it times out and gives and error has occured uploading your order. I'm not sure what is failing. Can anyone help me diagnosis this issue?

Some iPhoto/system configurations have trouble creating the pdf file that iPhoto uses to upload and print photos, cards, calendars, etc.  Booting into Safe Mode turns off all unnecessary software and system components, one of which is preventing the creation of the pdf file.
You can test it by creating a card, calendar or book and then try to create a PDF file preview as described in this Apple document: iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it.  If you can create a pdf file then the problem with the print order was something else.

  • Unable to upload Photos edited in Adobe Photoshop CS5

    Hi All,
I have edited some Raw photos in Adobe Photoshop CS5.
The photo size is less than 5 MB, but while uploading them to the sites such as Picasa or Facebook, I get an error.
Not a single photo is getting uploaded.
Can anybody help me what's going wrong ?
    Regards,
    Vilas

    Hi All,
    Providing common responce to all:
I was converting the Raw files into JPEG format and was trying to upload to the online printing service sites so that I can get good quality print outs.
Since my requirement was a quality print, I would not compromise on the file size.
Also the printing sites were having one file size limit upto 10 MB.
I am using Windows 7, and recently had upgraded my browser to IE 9.
After suggestion from Manish Kumar, I tried Google Chrome, and bang.... it worked !!!
Thanks Manish and all for helping me out... The problem is sorted out now, but the upload speed is pathetic.. that I have to live with the Internet speed.
    Thanks a lot once again.
    Regards,
    Vilas

  • Low Resolution when uploading to online printing service

When I upload photos from iPhoto to an online printing service (Walmart, Costco, Shutterfly) photos show up as low resolution. When I take the picture I use the higest resolution. Are there any suggestions on how to rectify this situation? I have uploaded and printed before with no problem. Do I have to use the memory stick directly to the site or change settings?
My camera is a Sony DSC-W55.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
How are you going about uploading?
Are you digging the files out of the DATA folder in the iPhoto Library Folder? If so, you're using the thumbnails that iPhoto uses for display purposes.

  • How to upload photos from pro to online website

    Hi there-
I just got the Mac Pro with Retina and haven't had a chance to do my 1:1 yet.
I'm trying to upload photos from my library to an online website to make cards, but I can't do it.
    How do I do this?
    TIA

The Costco website probably needs you to export the photos out of iPhoto to a regular Finder folder before it can find them.
iPhoto does provide a way to print cards through an Apple server or share it electronically to any of several social media sites, but it does not interface directly with Costco.
Can the Costco site pull photos from Flickr? That's one of the places iPhoto can export to.

Anyhow, try a different browser. What were you using?
Firefox is known to work well with the download manager when other browers fail.

  • Iphoto has stopped uploading photos and frozen. I have paid online for the book - what to do?

Hi there.. iphoto has stopped uploading photos and the programme has frozen on me. It assembled the book (step 1.), then did not complete the upload (step 2). Prior to these steps I provided my C/C detals and paid for the book.  i had to Force Quit the iPhoto app, and now wondering what to do!? If I try to buy the book again, then it asks for my C/C details...

Did you get a confirmation email from Apple?  Click on the Store button at the top of this page and use the Account ➙ Track a Purchase link.  That will tell you if they received your book.  Apple doesn't charge the card until it is shipped.  You can also check with your credit card company to see if there's been a charge from Apple.
Try previewing the book by Control-clicking in the background of the view all pages in iPhoto and select Preview Book or Save Book as PDF:
If that process fails then there's a work around for it.  Boot into  Safe Mode and preview the book again to make sure you can get a PDF of the book.  If you can then order the book while still in Safe Mode.  Save the PDF file to compare with the printed book. If the PDF file is satisfactory the printed book should match it.
What size book are you ordering?  Xtra large?

I was filling a form online, then I got to where I had to upload a Microsoft document but when I clicked on upload document I only had the option of uploading photos and videos, but not Microsoft doc. Please help.... How do I upload Microsoft doc  and other related office documents?

    tis true
I know, I always do that but I was in a rush to get somewhere and I was relying on my thousand dollar Mac to do some kind of recovery or something. I know Microsoft always keeps temporary files (I think Mac does too, part of me asking here in this forum was for someone to tell me where I can find those files) and when you go to open Office Works then it gives you the option of opening the last recent documents, saved or not saved.
I usually copy paste into my emial just in case something goes wrong with the created document but I just didn't have the time to login and do all that My loss, you live and you learn, BUT still if ANYONE got any info on this, PLEASE DO CHIME IN *keeping the hope alive*

  • How do i put a photo file folder on my desktop so that I may use it for an outside lab to print glclee? to upload photos to a photo lab

how do i put a photo file folder on my desktop so that I may upload photos to an outside lab to print glclee? I have already selected the 20 photos to print but I keep getting the whole file and need to reselect from the 8,000. photos. There must be an easier way!

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Uploading photos and data online

I run a website previously built by someone else in asp. The
dynamic site runs off data exported from filemaker in html table
form. I have been looking for a new, more direct technique of
organization for our site and am highly interested in Spry. I can
equally export XML from Filemaker Pro. Before I embark on this
switch though, I have two questions.
Is there a "widget" or readymade script for uploading and
overwriting posted data via an admin web page? I am somewhat
familiar with php, but have not tackled this before on my own.
Also our site shows boats and for each boat there is a small
photo gallery w/ descriptors. Looking for gallery options is what
originally lead me to Spry. Our needs entail a user friendly upload
process for said photos and an equally user friendly way to add
descriptions. Currently this is done through the admin section of
the site where we identify the boat and then upload 10 photos. We
would like to have the option to upload as few as two and as many
as 20 pix. to each vessel. In conclusion, is there an equally easy
way to upload/add pictures online in a dynamic way using Spry?
(thumbnails would need to be created simultaneously)
You can see an individual boat example here:
    Boat
    Detail
Notice what happens to the pix if you have less than 10. I
prefer the spry photo layout and think it will accommodate the
varing number of photos we get for each vessel.
Anyway, I appreciate any insight. I think this program would
be a good match and am willing to learn as I go, but want to be
certain it meets that basic criteria before I jump in head first.
PS- I'm definately going to use it for my personal art site
    and can't wait! Thank you.

The OneDrive is up to date and I unistalled and reinstalled it as well. OneNote is a default app in the phone and can not be uninstalled or reinstalled.
I also found that if I log into OneDrive using Internet Explorer on my phone I am not able to open any OneNote files from there either. All other file types work just fine. Using PC I have no issue opening the OneNote files so must be something wrong in the OneNote app in my phone itself.
And I do have the latest software update on my phone.

  • Upload photos from printer

Hi there. Still getting to grips with the basics of the imac being a recent convert.
Can anyone help me with trying to upload photos direct from a smartmedia card inserted into my (old) hp photosmart 1218 printer?
Unfortunately I can't lay my hands on a spare usb cable to connect the camera to the imac so I need to use the card slot on the printer.
In windows the printer was recognised as an external drive and easily accessible. Do I need to (or can I) get the imac to recognise the printer as a volume?
    A bit confused sorry!
    Many thanks
    Peter

Run App Store - Updates and see if there are any new updates. If there are, please install and retest. When you update you need to first check if the periferals will work, check with HP to see if they support your printer on Yosemite. HP provides the drivers, not Apple.
If all you want to do is upload from your camera you can also use Image Capture or you can simply get a card reader or use the card reader on your computer (assuming your computer has that feature) and use it. To be honest I didn't even know HP use to support that feature. If your computer was made after 2011 they all have integrated SD readers on the Mac.

  • Uploading photos to print

I think this is a simple straightforward question, but I can't find the answer.
I want to print 150 images from iPhoto. The images are all large, taken with a 12megapixel camera - if I send them the way they are, we are talking nearly 600megs!!! If I was making 11x14's that would be one thing, but I am talking about 4x6 prints. So, is there a way of telling iPhoto to upload smaller versions of these images? Or, is my only work around to export smaller images, reimport them into iPhoto and them upload those versions for printing? That seems like a very "unApple" workaround.
I am hoping I overlooked something simple.
    Thanks

I hope you are right - but I haven't found how to do that yet.
    Here is an example:
I tried uploading 29 prints. Each file was taken with a 10 megapixel camera. To start off with, I just want to get 1 - 4x6 of each image. Now, I know I don't need all that information. (Each file is approximately 4megs give or take)
I selected the images and "edited" them, cropping them to a 4x6 format and, I thought, reducing their uploading size at the same time. But, when I started the upload, the total amount of data was over 120meg, or, about 4 megs per file. (and it took about 90 minutes on my slow dsl connection) so, it would seem the files were not made any smaller.
I am still looking for the solution.
