Uploading RAW to PS CS5

I cannot upload my Raw File images to PS CS5 from my Canon EOS Rebel T5i.  Notice comes up that camera model not supported by installed version of Camera Raw.

The Rebel T5i was first supported by Camera Raw 7.4 which is only compatible with PS CS6 and later

Unfortunately CS5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7. It's not compatible with Camera Raw 7.4 so it'll never be able to open T5i Raw files.
If you want to open T5i Raw files in Photoshop, you'll have to upgrade to CS6 or CC.
Alternatively, if you want to stick with CS5, you can download the free DNG converter from Adobe, convert all T5i Raw files to DNGs. Then open the DNGs in CS5.

  • Elements 9 won't upload raw from D3100

I've been shooting in raw files from my D3100 b/c in Elements it gives me more editing abilities.  The problem is Elements 9 won't upload my raw files from my Nikon D3100.  It tells me "wrong file extension" or something is missing.  Is there an update yet for the D3100 so PSE9 can recognize .NEF files and upload them?

Thanks for the reply. I will keep watch for the plug in for PSE9

The nikon D3100 won't be supported in the elements pse9 editor
or organizer until the Camera raw 6.3 plugin comes out of beta,
which is only a matter of time.
The beta plugin works in photoshop cs5, but the installer will not install
    the plugin for pse9.
In the meantime you could use the 6.3 dng converter.

  • Camera Raw update for CS5 Extended

I am looking for a Camera Raw update for CS5 Extended. I currently have CR 6.7.0.339.  IS there something newer for me to use with CS5 Extended, Ver. 12.1x64?

Camera Raw 6.7 is the latest version that's compatible with Photoshop CS5. There's nothing newer for CS5.

  • Can not open raw files in CS5

    Hi
I cannot open my raw files in CS5. I have a canon 40d and I am on a computer that runs Windows XP. I have no problems with my CS3 wich also runs on my PC. Can any one help?

Trying to use DNG is the wrong approach.  Photoshop Camera Raw should be able to open your 40D raw files directly.  Having to go through two conversions would be a huge monkey wrench in the works.
    Some questions:
Do you have anything programmed for your Additional Plug-Ins Folder in Edit - Preferences - Plug-Ins?
Can you open a Canon .cr2 raw file in Photoshop CS5 by choosing File - Open As..., selecting Camera Raw (...) from the bottom, then choosing your file and pressing [Open]?
Is there anything special about your camera?  Has the firmware been modified?

  • Raw files with CS5 photoshop and Nikon D3300

I currently have CS5 suite, I know it's old..but its what I have to work with.  I just purchased the Nikon D3300 and cannot open the raw files.  I installed the 8.4 dng converter, but obviously that does not work.  i tried to uninstall it and install the 6.3 as I read that on a board.  But I can't even uninstall the 8.4.  No option for that in the uninstall in windows..it just does not come up.  Help!! How do open the raw files in CS5?

You need Windows 7/8/8.1 to run the DNG 8.4 converter. Which do you have?
Before you do anything, there is a proper way to use it. You convert a folder of raw files not a single raw file.
Camera Raw: How to use Adobe DNG Converter - YouTube
The DNG converter is a single executable file.  There are no registry entries.  That's why there is no uninstall in the Control Panel. All you have to do is locate the file and delete it.

  • Aperture quits, after I uploaded Raw files, the computer shut down during

I am using Aperture 1.5.6. 2j2.. I put in a flash drive in my lexar unit to upload raw files to a new project, I saw the thumbnails images were there, filled in all the information clicked upload.. left the room, came back and the computer was off.. Not sure why.. turned the computer back on and aperture opened, when clicking on the interrupted project, a window opens at the top of the screen for a second and then aperture shuts down, I did a png capture after several attempts to read and the message reads "project untitled 3 is in an inconsistent state, please wait while the inconsistencies are resolved". I can't delete the project because aperture shuts down as soon as I click on the project. What can I do to delete the project? also I tried to upload the images again and it wont upload and get this message, master did not upload, it keeps spinning, I tried another card from the same shoot and the same thing.. Is this a Aperture problem, or could the cards be corrupt from the camera? This was a paid shoot and I have another paid shoot, Tomorrow which I'm canceling until I find the problem.. Also how can I get my raw files off the flash drive? Help my photographer Friends.. I'm going to see if I can upload a card, with images that I know worked..
Oh one more this my Aperture library in on an external hard drive, I have had no problem so far,, until now, that is.

update.. I opened Aperture on my mac book pro, they uploaded fine, so I guess in the external Hard drive. But still my question remains.. What can I do?

how do you get camera raw plugin for cs5.1 extented for new olympus omd e-m1 camera?

Native support requires ACR version 8.3, which will only run under CS6 or CC.

  • Camera Raw Update Problem: how to open Fuji X-E2 Raw files in CS5?

I just purchased a Fuji Xe2 but my .RAF files are not compatible with my CS5's version of Camera Raw (6.7).  I have tried to go through the Help menu to update but it states my product is up to date. I tried to manually download and install but I just get an error message.  How do I fix this?

Familiarize yourself with these two tables

    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
The X-E2 was first supported by Camera Raw 8.3 which is only compatible with CS6, CC and later.
It will never be backward compatible with earlier versions so you won't be able to open XE-2 Raw files in CS5.
    Some options:
    Upgrade to CS6

Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all X-E2 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5.

  • Cannot upload raw files to lightroom 2.0 from my Canon Q10

Lightroom says the CR2 files are corrupt - but I am quite sure they are not because: a) I can view them on the camera and, b) Picasa downloaded them just fine. I originaly tried downloading to LR directly from the camera. When that failed, I downloaded the CR2 files to the hard drive and then tried importing them into LR2. Same error message - the files are corrupted.
Any and all help would be appreciated.
I am going to contact Canon as well.
    Thanks
    Peter

    Peter,
I'm having trouble identifying the "Canon Q10"... does it have an alternate model designator in the US, as many Canons do?  Is it a relatively new release camera?  Have you previously been able to upload RAW photos taken by this particular model camera into Lightroom 2?
If not, the issue most likely is that Lightroom and Adobe's Camera Raw 5.2 don't support this camera yet.  A future release likely will.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html
If that's your problem, the interim solution is to use Canon software to download the RAW photo and convert it to TIF, and import the TIF to Lightroom.  Or shoot RAW+Jpeg, and import the Jpeg to Lightroom and await proper RAW support.  Sorry.
