Uploading site issue using Upload to FTP host

I uploaded my problem in the video but basically Muse doesn't want to upload the files where it should be..  If I want to use the in browser editing I can't now because it doesn't upload right.. if anyone can help please do!

In that case, try clearing the Muse preferences and see if that resolves this issue. To clear the preferences, first close Muse completely, and once done, delete AdobeMuse folder from the following location:
Mac OS: ~/Library/Preferences
Windows XP:  %appdata%
Windows 7: %appdata%
On Mac OS, also delete the AdobeMuse.plist and AdobeMuse.plist.lockfile (if found) from the ~/Library/Preferences directory.
Then restart Muse and see if you're able to type in the "FTP host" option.
Cheers

What version of Muse are you using? If it's not 2014.2, please go to the Creative Cloud Desktop App or creative.adobe.com and update.
The FTP login failure is most likely due to your host not supporting FTP Extended Passive Mode. In Muse 2014.2 switch to "Passive (PASV)" in the Connect to FTP Server dialog.
Regarding performance, how large is your site (in pages and megabytes)? How many Design view tabs are open? What specific operations are slow?
If you'd like to send your .muse file, I'll take a look and attempt to isolate the cause of slow performance. Please send me the .muse file at [email protected] along with a link to this thread. If the file is larger than 20Mb you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc. Thanks.

  • How to upload site created with Dreamweaver via FTP to the iWEB server?

    Hi everyone,
I recently created a site on Dreamweaver and want to upload the site, via FTP to the iWEB server. My questions are the following:
    1. What is the FTP host address?
    2. How do I connect to my website via FTP?
Any help on the following questions will be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Hello Lauretta and welcome to the forum.
You do not connect to iDisk via FTP. iDisk uses WebDAV. Also you do not need to manually upload the published files to iDisk as recommended buy others in this thread. Once the site and server is set up in DW you can publish and upload directly through DW.app Check out this post for more info.

  • Iweb site for use with my own hosting company, not .mac

    Hello,
What I would like to do is setup a photo album site in iweb but export it to ftp to my own hosting company.
I noticed on a link found here that if you do so you lose the ability to have a slideshow......will this effect the ability for a person to click on a picture to advance to the next picture?
I have tried phpalbum and looked at gallery program but I dont know scripting or programming so I am lost there.....iweb photo album page seems the best way to go.
    Any advice would be helpful!!!
    Thanks

    Hi PB,
That's not true. It maybe was using iWeb '06 but not iWeb '08. Just create your photopage, go to file=>publish to a folder, upload the resulting files to your server using your FTP application and you're done.
Everything works: slideshow, pictures overview, single picture.
I'm uploading my site to non .mac, have a look at this photo page:
    http://alyeska.altervista.org/photos/Ontheroad/Pages/Iceland.html
An alternative would be using SimpleViewer which is really easy to use too, have a look at point 3 for examples

  • Site won't publish updates to FTP host after initial successful publish

    Hi,
I am having trouble publishing updates to my site.  The site is live through an FTP Host and worked successfully the first time. However, when I go in to make changes to the site and click 'Publish to FTP Host' 'All Files', those changes don't take affect on the live site.  I have also cleared my cache and am still having the issue.

What do you have in Host directory? Keep it blank and re-publish. The Host directory (folder) on the host server is where your site files will be uploaded. Some hosting providers require you to upload your site to a specific folder on their server and others advise you to leave this field blank.
If the above doesn't help either, please reach out to Muse chat support - http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=muse&topic=signing-in-to-my-account.

According to below reference it seems your doc is correct but hosting provider may not support  your content type header. Short answer is ask your hosting provider, but there are some troubleshooting suggestions as well in the link below.

    Hi
Secure Zone login feature will only work if you host your website with Business catalyst.
Please take a look to this as an alternative

  • I web site won't upload on new FTP host

Hi all. I used to host my domain through mobile me and have now got new hosting elsewhere. I built my site in iWeb and, even though I've configured iWeb to now upload to the new FTP host, it takes ages to publish the site and when it does is just blank... I'm clearly doing something worng... when I hit "test connection" it comes back as ok.... and my DNS settings are all pointing in the right direction... I'm serioulsy out of my depth with all th jargon here but can anyone help me? My site has been down for a month now and the hosting people aren't any help with iweb.
    Many thanks in anticipation...
    Tim

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I've made some headway on this and have managed to at least get the files up on to the host server. It's actually pay as you host, who are a sister company of just the name. Their tech support is pretty good, but not clued up on iweb so I'm a tad stuck.
Anyway, I've made a new tiny site called "test" to upload and use to figure it all out. This initaially uploaded to the servers "doc" folder in a folder of its own and wasn't showing up when I typed my domain name into safari. I then moved all the files out of their folders and into the docs folder diretly, and the welcome page now appears. However it isn't formatted the way it is supposed to be.
I've attached screenshots of how it looks in safari, how it should look (form iweb) and also of how the files are listed in the docs folder of the server.
I guess this is now most likely an iweb issue not a sever one...
Any help (in as simple a language as possible) gratefully received as otherwise I am looking at starting from scratch again which I'd rather avoid..
    Kind regards
    Tim

  • I have just uploaded my iWeb site to a FTP host and most of the site is ok however a lot of the text has gone very strange!  How can i get it to publish the same as I designed it?  Thanks in advance....

Please help!  I have just uploaded my iweb site to a FTP Host and most of the site is ok however a lot of the text has gone wrong!  Many thanks...

Maybe you could let me know which hosting service you are using so that I can add them to my list of those NOT recommended for iWeb users!
I just dealt with one today who claimed the iWeb sites were incompatible and that the first line of code should be deleted from every HTML file before upload to their server.
They didn't even offer the information that it would be a lot easier to modify the .htaccess file never mind offer to do it for a customer.
Nobody should expect to pay for service like this and the answer is to dump them and go to a company that gives you some value and support for your money. If the ones on this page don't meet your requirements for cost and service...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iWeb/Publish-Website.html
... search this forum for those recommended by other users. There's a long list of them.

  • The latest changes to the function to "Upload to FTP host" has rendered this useless - no point using a program like Muse if I can not easily and automatically upload the work to the webserver!

The latest changes to the function to "Upload to FTP Host" has rendered this useless - no point using a program like Muse if I can not easily and automatically upload the work to the webserver!  I use BlueHost webhosting that has a primary domain and I have several domains with that account (as sub-domains or folders on this server) - with past versions of Muse when uploading pages it simply opened an alert window to tell me (what I already know) that the website I was uploading does not point to the primary domain BUT NOW Muse tries to create a new separate folder in the root directory of the primary domain - completely ignoring the directory path I am giving it - useless!  Why make these senseless changes to the program - and so often - very frustrating it is like amateur ware!.

    Hi Stephen,
There are some issues with the upload to ftp via Muse, which the engineering team is aware of and those will be fixed in a future build of Muse. At this point the work around would be to export the html from Muse and then upload via some third party ftp client like filezilla.
I will recommend that you keep an eye on our release notes page to get more updates on it - Release notes | Adobe Muse CC

  • Problem with using new Upload to FTP Host feature...

I tried using the "Upload to FTP Host" feature to upload to GoDaddy.com. It worked fine the first time but now I get this message:
    Error:
Error creating folder //images. Click Resume to try again. If this problem persists, try again later.
I tried a few times and even waited two days but I am still getting the same message. So I tried to "Export as HTML" liked I used to do and now for some reason it will not create a CSS or Scripts folder. Only an images folder.
Also, the first time the "Upload to FTP Host" worked for some reason not all the images were there and the transition box I have is not fading smoothly from one image to the next.
    Please help!!!
    Thanks,
    Melissa

The issue looks like it might be related to a known issue with our FTP upload client. We currently incorrectly assume the server is configured to use / as the root direcotry. We have a fix for the issue, that will be released in an upcoming update (likely to be sooner rather than later). The workaround for it is actually pretty simple though. If you login to your FTP server, you should be able to see what directory you are at, and you can use the full path there to upload successfully.
For example, if you login using a different FTP client, you might see something like /home/users/myuser/ in the address bar. In Muse, in the directory location, if you place /home/users/myuser you will upload to the correct directory. If you want to upload to a specific directory, simply add that to the end of the directory path.
If you are unable to upload after following the above steps, as Abhishek says, it is likely a permissions error. Try exporting first and using a third party client to upload it and let us know if you are able to do so successfully from there.

  • Trouble uploading a Muse site to FTP Host

Whenever I try to upload my website made with Adobe Muse to an FTP host I always get the error message:
Connection to PHP file failed. Unable to check if this web server supports PHP needed by Muse forms. Be sure the domain name entered in the FTP upload dialog is correct.
I'm using Godaddy/Cpanel to launch my website but I can't figure out how to launch it. I already bought/have the domain name and I already went through business catalyst. When I type in the URL for the website it just brings me to an error page with a link to my cpanel log in. Do you think this is something wrong with Cpanel because that is what I'm using to launch the site? Or is Cpanel not compatible with Muse?
    Any information helps
    Thanks

The message suggests that you are trying to use the web forms widget in Adobe Muse and it seems that your hosting service provider does not support PHP or PHP mail service.
Please refer to the document : http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3581 and contact your hosting service provider regarding this.
