Uploading stored photos

I have photos from my old computer saved in photos on my iphone 4, I want to transfer these to my new pc before I upgrade to version 5.0. Is this possible?

Yes...if you are using a Mac, when your iPhone is connected, open iPhoto & you will be able to import your images there. If you are using a Windows PC, follow this link (it shows an example for Windows 7 but I'm sure it's similar for previous versions of Windows)...

Couple of things to try:
Restart your mac and try launch iPhoto again.
If that fails:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a file called ‘iPhoto’Lock.data or similar. Drag it to the Desktop. Make no other changes. Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If not: Where is your iPhoto Library stored? If it's on an External Disk, what format is that?

Kudos! I too am frustrated about this change to my personal page. I also know Apple is not to blame. I also manage a page for the company I work for using pages app. And that app is UN affected and I can choose from any photo stored on my phone (4). I do keep them seperate so I can keep a professional aspect for the company. But if you want your personal page linked to your public or work page, this maybe the work around your looking for.

BSP error when trying to upload employee photo

     I am following note 595563 and performing below mentioned activities.</h2>
       <h3> * Make sure that the HTTP plugin is active.</h3>
    <h4> Transaction SMICM, "Display Services" function key (shift F1). The list of services must contain a port other than 0 for HTTP. If not, you must adjust the relevant profile parameter.
     Typical entry:
      icm/server_port_0         PROT=HTTP, PORT=1080, TIMEOUT=900
Make sure that the /sap/bc/contentserver service is active.
      Transaction SICF, select: default_host - sap - bc - contentserver. Select the function to display/change the service. Check that a user is defined.
      If a user is not defined, use Transaction SU01 to create a new user. Use the "System" user type. Assign the profiles SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW to the user.
      Using the relevant data from the user that has just been created, maintain the anonymous logon data for the service /default_host/sap/bc/ and then save the changes.
Check the system PSE.
      Start Transaction STRUST. Expand the system PSE. The system PSE must be green for each application server.
Determine a suitable exchange directory.
      The archive system must be accessible from every application server. If all application servers are running on the same platform (for example, Windows), one network directory that is accessible on all application servers (for example,
server\share) is sufficient. You can generally use the global directory (profile parameter DIR_GLOBAL). You can use report RSPARAM to determine the profile parameters.
Setting up the storage
Create a table for storing the data.
      Use Transaction SE11 to create a copy of table SDOKCONT1. If you want to create the repository database, you can call the table ZCONT_DB, for example. Save the table as a local object. Activate the table.
Create the repository.
      Use Transaction OAC0 to create a new repository.
      Use the following parameters:
        Repository                              Max. two characters, for example, DB
        Document area ArchiveLink
        Storage type    R/3 database
        Storage subtype normal
        Version no.      0046
        Contents table <table name>     for example: ZCONT_DB

When sharing photos between two users, if one user uploads new photos, only he can view them. Any help on this issue?

My iPhoto library is in Shared Folders so both users can access and edit the pictures. However, if one users uploads new photos, for some reason these become only available to him and the other user cannot even view them.
All permissions have been set so that both users have them on the shared folders. For some reason, when creating a folder, the permissions are not kept....
Please help.

The same thing has started happening to us since upgrading to iPhoto 11 and Lion. If I import photos from my camera, then my partner can see thumbnails of those photo, but cannot click them to see them sull size. Similarly if my partner imports photos.
We have used a shared iPhoto library stored in Users/Shared/Photos for several years and everything has been fine until now.
I am backing up now and will then check and repair the library permissions. I'll post back the results.

Not too clear about your question. If you have photos and other files that were created before joining iCloud, you won't be able to upload photos and most of the files. iCloud does not have an iDisk feature to storing files - look into Dropbox for that, and does not have photo galleries. You'll have to look for some other services for that. Is this what you mean?

Linked (not uploaded) User Photos???

Hello!
We have a problem where we want our users to have photos attached to their profiles for collaboration etc, but we DO NOT want to upload photos to our current portal server.
Unfortunately our server space is at a premium.
Is there a way to avoid actually uploading the photos, but instead link to them in a seperate location on a seperate server?
I have reviewed the three iViews for uploading photos (i.e. mass upload, administrative upload, and self service) and these aren't going to be sufficient for what we need to do.
Anyone have any ideas on how this might be accomplished??

I'm a bit new to KM etc. If these photos are stored in KM under /um, what does that correspond to; i.e. are these photos etc stored in the database, or somewhere on the OS filesystem?

How can I upload multiple photos without using an app?

I'm a special education teacher, and I teach a photography lab that teaches students how to scan and edit photos. We use the school's set of Ipad2's in order to crop the photos since the majority of students I have don't have the hand eye coordination neccisary to crop using a desktop computer and mouse. The problem I'm running into, however, is that our IT department wont let me download any apps onto the iPads. I've asked on six seperate occasions in order for them to update the iPads to ios7 and to give teachers the permission to install apps-- the first request coming at the start of the school year-- and they havent responded to any of them, so I'm not holding my breath.
Currently, I'm uploading all of the photos my students scan to my personal dropbox account, and the students access that and download each photo individually onto their ipads. Not the easiest thing for special education students to do, but its doable. I have not found an easy way to get the cropped photos off the ipads, however. Any ideas? I could attach each photo to an email, allthough thats more trouble than its worth most times. Dropbox will only allow me to upload one photo at a time, and keeps overwriting the photo I previously uploaded with the new one if I try to upload a second photo. Photo stream is the obvious answer, but icloud is disabled on all the ipads and only IT can turn it back on, something they've been unwiling to do

I worked in IT on the university level for four years so it's really frustrating to see more safeguards in place in a public school district any university. If we're trying to teach these kids to be ready for real life and then block out and don't let them use half the technology they're going to encounter in real life, well I just don't get that. But that's another rant for another time.
How I do it is I save all of the photos my students scan onto my external hard drive, then transfer them to my personal computer and upload them to dropbox using Dropbox for windows (or whatever the desktop application is called) . I then have my students go to dropbox.com on the iPad, login as me, and go through each photo, saving each to the iPad as they go.
I should have said upfront that when I try to connect the iPad to my personal computer it charges the iPad but won't recognize under my computer or show up in iTunes, so I am unable to see any of the data on it. I'm pretty sure it's not the 30 pin connector that's malfunctioning because I've tried with two of them. I can only check if it registers with iTunes on my personal computer because I can't download iTunes on school computers since I don't have administrator privileges

If you're trying to add photos to photo stream on your PC, you drag them to your photo stream uploads folder (normally My Pictures\Photo Stream\Uploads).

You can't do it directly from your iPad, the camera connection kit only copies photos/videos to the iPad's Photos app, it can't be used to copy them off.
You can copy photos to a computer and from there to the memory stick : Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC.

why not sort by (name, date, etc) and Click on 1st and Shift-Click on last.
Might work better to copy or import to a project folder.

How to upload local photos to icloud photo library

with the new icloud photo library(beta) that was introduced in iOS 8.1, I tried to turn it on to upload my photos on my iphone 6 to icloud drive, but it warned me those photos I uploaded from my mac to my iphone will be removed.....
So does it only upload and syns those photos I took using iphone? what about those local photos on my mac or PC, that were uploaded to my iphone using iPhoto or iTunes? Is there a way to upload them all to icloud drive?

You have iCloud control panel installed on your PC and you're signed in? If so, sign out, restart the machine, then sign back in.
