Uploading to Host Gator

i created a website with Muse and tried to upload it to Hostgator;  they say the coding is not supported and I need to find out where the muse files need to be.  Can anyone guide me?

How are you uploading to Hostgator?
If you know your ftp information you can publish your website directly from Muse:  File > Upload to FTP Host.
or
You can export your HMTL files and upload via the cpanel in Hostgator: File > Export as HTML
Hope this helps.

    i am having trouble logoin  when i am using muse to upload ftp host and its saying invalid login or password using different hosting provider?

    Hi!
    I'm having the same problem, and the login and password is 100% correct.
    The FTP is propely configured, but Muse are having problem with it. I can login throught a FTP session from a terminal session, and it also works perfectly with FileZilla or another FTP-client.
    I have made some traces througth Wireshark, and it's clear the Muse made a sucessful login. But, fter the login Muse sends a request for UTF8 and gets an answer from the FTP-server that UTF8 is always enabled, and there is no need to send this command. Then Muse sends a TCP ACK, and the packet after Muse sends FIN, ACK. See a snip from the trace below...

    Muse -> [ACK]
    Muse -> [FIN][ACK]
    FTP-Server <- [ACK]
    FTP-Server <- [FIN][ACK]
    This means that Muse disconnects AFTER a sucessful login, but give the user a faulty message saying "Invalid login or password" and not that Muse has disconnected because of another reason.
    Looking forward for an answer.

  • Using Dreamweaver ftp for file upload to host question

    My local site is set up with links relative to the root document.
    The local root folder is defined as J:\xampp\htdocs\rootfilename\
    I have not put anything in the field HTTP Address so it just shows http://
    Once I have defined my remote site in the Dreamweaver setup I still have concerns regarding how dreamweaver will treat some of the links in my  localhost testing environment, I have changed some of the relative links to fully qualified paths such as :
    http://localhost/rootfilename/filename.php
    So my question is when i do the file transfer how does dreamweaver treat these full links, will it change localhost to the new host name, and the root directory name to the root directory name automatically for me (obviously after i have defined them in the remote site setup)?
    And what about my file path names such as my includes files which I have had to make a full path for example:
    include_once ("J:/xampp/htdocs/rootfilename/includes/filename.inc.php");
    Will Dreamweaver remove the J:/xampp stuff and give it the correct fully qualified path?
    Thank you in advance for your help, I just want to make sure everything is set up right before I start the transfer.

    No DW will not update absolute paths in your code. Absolute paths will remain exactly how you've typed them on upload.

  • Since upgrading to FF5, i get the following xml error on local development server (IIS 7 Windows 7): XML Parsing Error: no element found, Line Number 1, Column 1. The pages display fine when uploaded to hosting server. How do i resolve it

    All aspx pages running locally via IIS or Visual studio inbuilt server can not be displayed in FF5. This problem has only occured since upgrading to FF5. The same sites/code worked fine with the previous version of FF.
    When uploaded onto a hosting server the pages display fine. Pages all display ok on local IIS on IE, chrome, opera etc.
    I do go through a proxy server, but so do the other browsers.
    All this means i can't develop locally on FF. Help please!

    Maybe your application doesn't support "Send NTLMv2 response only. Refuse LM & NTLM".

  • Agent Up and Running, uploading, but host not discovered

    We recently rebooted one node in a two node RAC. When it came up we were having problems getting information in Enterprise manager. The agent comes up, uploads successfully and everything seem fine, but no updates in EM. We removed the host and all associated targets and tried reconfiguring and now EM cannot discover the host. It sees the agent, but not the host. What could have possibly gone wrong? This was all working fine before the reboot.

  • Muse creates .php files instead .html files when directly uploaded on host in program

    When i use reCaptcha in Adobe Muse it creates index.php files when i click upload on ftp host. If i export it as html, then it works correctly.
    For my own Website it's not a problem (Hoststar.ch), but it appears to be a problem for other hosting providers (Genotec.ch).
    Also if there is a .htdocs file in the folder im exporting it to, it writes a "Muse Generated redirects", but it still won't for Genotec.ch.
    If there is no .htdocs file in the folder, it also won't create one.
    Is that problem fixable or what do i need to do?

    Hi,
    Adobe Muse does not generates .htdocs file. Did you check it with your host, if it is available for you on the server?

  • Iweb upload to host other than apple

    Is this possible? Can I change the settings inside of iweb so that it will upload the site to a different host, other than apple. I'm a dreamweaver user and I have to help out a number of people and they all just got new macbooks. Since it has iweb already, it would be great to use it, but we didn't get the mac accounts. The office did open an independent site with a generic hosting service.
    One person says that we can upload the site to the our purchased host through FTP. Sure, but everyone is COMPLETELY computer illiterate. So that isn't a solution. We need something they can just press and it will work. Can I configure iweb to do this. This is a Yes or NO question. I just need to know. I can do the legwork myself, but before I get started down that road, I need to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Otherwise it's dreamweaver.
    Thank you. Whoever you are that has the answer.

    Whatever happened to helping people to learn or teaching, or has this art suddenly disappeared? I am sure that most people were computer illiterate as you put it before we got our hands on one and were taught or helped to learn how to use it. I know I was. I remember about 16 years ago now, when I was at university, I needed a computer, so I purchased an Amstrad. It was a black and white monitor and had no hard drive, so all work needed to be saved on a floppy disc. This saw me through uni and I then decided to buy my first proper computer which was a Viglen PC. This had an internet connection and I learned how to use this by fiddling myself and reading books and with help from others.
    It was not long after this that Apple bought out the first iMacs - the Tangerine iMacs that were 500 Mghz. I bought one of these for my parents as they wanted something simple to use without all the leads and connections that PC's had. I set it up for them and used it myself and was so impressed with it, that I went out and bought one for myself and have never looked back. It ran OS 8, which was quite unstable and kept crashing and freezing all the time. I learned how to use this myself.
    Since then, I have graduated to the latest Macs and the latest software, but they are easy to use even for the computer illiterate. Even the computer illiterate can learn if they are taught.
    I totally agree with what Roddy has said. How hard can it really be to publish to a folder - this can be done from within iWeb itself, by selecting the Publish to MMe or a folder option? If someone were to set up an ftp client such as Cyberduck for people to use and have all the info needed entered into it, then all they need do is click on upload and select first the site folder and then the index file. Is this really going to be so hard?
    Do you really think that using Dreamweaver is going to be easier than using iWeb? If these people are not even able to click on publish to a folder and then upload using Cyberduck themselves, then do you really think that they will be able to use Dreamweaver any better? Dream on then if you think this!!

  • My website- created on iWeb (Mac) now uploaded to hosting site, does not show content on 4 pages of photos, though Safari shows everything. ???

    All the photos were saved on jpeg format. You can see the text on each page of concern, but not the photos. I have added music to each page of concern with a button to manipulate on/off, and pasted jpeg photos to them which you can see, and music plays with no problem. I re-built the site and uploaded again to hosting site, and am having same problem. Safari shows all pages, text, jpeg photos/music without any problem. So I have a site of 6 pages, and only 2 are completely loadable with Firefox. I have made all updates that have come from Firefox. My Mac is OS X version 10.5.8

    Make sure that you use the latest version of the iWeb software to generate the galleries. Older versions of iWeb had problems in current Firefox versions.

  • Website Upload to Hosting Company - SQL DB doens't work - Please help

    I developed my first webpage using c#, VS2005 and SQL Express and it works fine in my Computer.
    Tried to upload it to a hosting company, they have SQL 2005 Server.
    I can surf through the pages but nothing that has to do with the database works.
    Is there anything I should have done before uploading the site?
    Please help.

    This thread is 8 years old - there is no point to asking questions, regardless of whether you work for MS or not.
    If no one answers, you are correct. But if someone responds, then shouldn't they be the judge of whether or not their unanswered question is important enough to not be ignored?
    Should someone ask a question for the community to ignore that question and never respond to it?

  • Error uploading in host directory

    Hi
    I've seen different topics on this but I still can't seem to fix my problem.
    Whenever I put a host directory (in my case: www) I get an error message. Please check out the two files below for more insight.
    This used to work before so it's a total mystery to me.
    Thanks in advance!

    Which reader you're using?
    If you use GemPlus like, check your opencard.properties and find this line:
    OpenCard.terminals=com.ibm.opencard.terminal.pcsc10.Pcsc10CardTerminalFactory
    I had the same problem, using new pscs wrapper, because the previous line was like this:
    OpenCard.terminals=com.ibm.opencard.terminal.pcsc10.Pcsc10CardTerminalFactory|myGEMPlus|GEM430PC|SHARED.
    After I removed the reader definition, everything was ok.
    Regarding the second error, check your APDU command, is it properly structured. If you send command, without data, then the command should look like this (without LC):
    CLA, INS, P1, P2, LE
    Cheers

  • Corrected pages not uploading to host

    I feel like I'm beating my head against a wall; no matter how many times I "put" the files to my hosting service, and I've verified that the files are correct on my computer, when I view them on any browser, many of the pages are not corrected.  It primarily has to do with the menu and the sidebar1; the menu on the index page is formatted correctly with the correct page names in the drop down menu, but on many of the other pages, there is incorrect spacing and many of the page names in the drop-down menu are correct; in the sidebar1 on the index page, the spacing is correct, but on many other pages they don't show up correctly (too close together).  Help!

    Well that's wierd........maybe it is working?  I just checked in both IE 8.0 and Safari, and everything looks correct as you say.  Maybe Firefox isn't refreshing properly, even when I reload it?  Last night I even cleared my browsing history........oh......I just realized I didn't clear the cookies, so maybe that's it?

  • Cannot Upload to FTP Host (Done this before?)

    I am trying to upload a site for a client and I have done this before, I am using adobe muse. I fill in my login credentials and add in the domain name, I always leave the "folder" section empty as I already have set the ftp client up in host gator. When I go to click "Upload" it say "The folder "" does not point to site "www.website.com" Please help

    If you're confident in the information you've entered, click "Ignore" in the dialog.
    We're finding there are a small number of hosting providers that have a significant delay (a minute or more) between the time when a new file is uploaded via FTP and when it becomes available for download via HTTP. In those cases, Muse is unable to download the small test file it uploads to verify the entered domain and folder information is correct. When that occurs Muse puts up the warning message you're seeing.

  • How to upload multiple .CSV files in the same time.

    Madhusudhanan,
    A couple of observations. First; always list your exact Forms version (eg; 10.1.2.0.2 not 10g R2). In most cases, the solution is different depending on the Forms version. Second; why must you use Forms to kick off a SQL Loader process? This is a server-side process and should be initiated by a server side process. If you absolutely must use Forms to kick off the process, again we need your Forms version in order to offer any solutions. Based on your code sample, I can asusme you are at least using Forms 9i becuase you are using WebUtil.
    Is your Database and Application Server the same physical computer? If they are not, this would explain why your HOST command isn't working because HOST runs against the Application Server not the Database server.
    Third; have you considered using and External Table (if your RDBMS version supports them) for each of the files you are attempting to upload? In this instance, it would be helpful to know your RDBMS version as well. External Tables can be a little frustrating to set up the first time, but as with any new construct you use - it gets easier the more you use it.
    Fourth; are you getting any errors in your log file(s)? If so, what are the errors? Please list the full error message if you have one.
    Finally, with respects to your statement:
