Uploading Video Directly to Internet

I am shooting some video for a company who wants me to upload the video to their website afterwards. I don;t want to have to "upload" to my iMac and then transfer it to the website, but go directly from camera to website through the iMac. The website gives all kinds of file options to choose to upload, but I can't find the camera, which is connected by Firewire. Any ideas how to make this a one-step process. do I need some software to do this?

You might want to repost your question in another forum. This one is dedicated to the Numbers application. I'll take a shot at it, though.
When you connect your camera, it probably shows up as a connected drive. You should be able to upload a file from it just as you would upload a file from any other disk. The problem you might run into is trying to determine which file to upload; the file names on cameras are typically not very informative.

Your video clips will import directly into iMovie. It's a great video editing program. I'll include some quick video tutorials to get you started below:

When you open the iMovie application, click HELP > iMOVIE HELP on the menu bar to access the manual for the program. One of the first topics is Importing Video.

IMovie not uploading video because of internet connection

Hi,
I made a project in iMovie. When it's time to upload the video to my facebook account, i dealt with same problem again and again.
When i started my video for uploading to facebook, my video was prepared for uploading and when iMovie was publishing my video to facebook, like after 30% it cancels my video by saying check you server and make sure your computer is connected to internet. I checked my internet connection in the top right bar,it was connected. There was no problem with internet connection. It happened to me for about 2 times, i wasted my time and i am not sure whether i will do it again or not.
Apple, please fix this problem.

first of all: Quicktime is no 'codec' ..
a QT.mov can contain many codecs, all kind of framerates, resolutions, formats ...
when you hit share/Quicktime/Expert Setting and the blue button again, you should choose 'Quicktime' again and 'Options' ... now, you see many buttons: compressor allows to choose from many codecs.. actual the 'best' is h264 (=QTvers. 7.x. only)... it reduces file sizes dramatically... 'Size' reduces file sizes too, a 320x240 res is just a ¼ of a dv... and you can get rid of some MBs by choosing mono, and lower 'audio res' (e.g.11.5kHz) ...
it all depends very much of content, what you like to achieve (a musician wouldn't lower audio quality for his demos...), if you prefer speed, compatibility, etc. ...
just for 'sharing' videos, I recommend youtube, video.google, stage6 etc. - you don't have to care for any settings..
if you install on your own websites... 'compression' is an art, not only craftship..

Unable to download music or video directly to mobo...

in Nokia 710, unable to download music or video directly from internet explorer. Not having option to connect internet through pc suite. Unable to download apps from market place from debit card or net banking. Not having adobe flash player. Unable to edit office files who comes from mail. Totally Nokia 710 is famous for showing error msg that windows phone can't support this type of file. Totally waste.

You can stream music and videos from Internet Explorer (or SkyDrive). In order to transfer media to your phone, you use Zune.
You can download free (and trial) apps without a credit card but you can't buy apps.
Adobe Flash Player for mobiles is dead. It will dissapear from all mobiles. Simple as that.

Camcorder for uploading videos on the run?

hey guys
is there a camcorder out there that canon makes that will allow me to upload videos directly onto youtube and has wifi capability? I'm trying something new at the car dealership that I work at and I don't want to wait until the end of the day, when I get home, to upload the videos. Thanks!

Who really cares one way or another? Someone will introduce another product that is Windows based and will support all players
so they can compete with Apple.Hey no reason why Adobe can't partner with a company that wants to compete with Apple.
Adobe is a very good competitor for instance the take the case of Lightroom and Aperture!
Apple tries to compete with After Effects. Final Cut Pro was supposed to be the master but Avatar was created with Adobe applications as I understand it, not final cut pro!
And what to say someone wants to create an application that supports flash in such a way Apple can do nothing about it?
There is probably nothing anyone can do about that.
There is just so much Apple can do before they enter the realm of he anti trust laws, just by not allowing flash on the devices is probably an unfair business practice and in court would more than likely be rued as such.
I would give the matter time, for all anyone knows this might work to Adobe's advantage.
I don't think boycotting the˙´product is the answer nor demanding anything is either I say let nature take its course.
As I point out lots can happen perhaps there is even an advance in Flash that will make it impossible to stop on the iPad, iPhone and iTouch.
I think you are looking at this the wrong way this is an opportunity for Adobe and Flash as well.

thank you Shoot. I was afraid that the n word would answer that querie. OK. Please recommend a FREE software that I can use to import on to the hard drive that is reliable and w/out error messages e.g. "Browser will close" as in sonys PMH a new replacement for PMB that fails horribly. I uninstalled and installed the Sony PMH four or five times w/Sony "Techs" [I you want to call them that]. And they admitted that the software has problems. The final solution from the "tech" on the phone was that to just keep on uninstalling and install until it worked. Wow! That coming from Sony the electronics Giant. How to upload/post videos directly to facebook business pages?

I figured iPhone would be super dialed in as far as managing business pages on social media. Instead I find it impossible to upload videos to my business pages on Facebook from the iPhone 4s app for Facebook. Either Apple has overlooked or is in development on this, or I am the only person in the world who would find this simple feature extremely worthy to managing my business page social media-wise.
So my question is whether there is a way to do this that I just don't know or is this a supreme Apple fail, and if the latter what my options are for urging Apple to add this obvious feature stat? Thanks!

While you can provide feedback to Apple here, www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link, as whytobother has stated, you are discussing the Facebook app, which Facebook is responsible for. Apple does not develop this app, so how can it be their "supreme fail"?

Late-2009 iMac elusive freezing when uploading video

Hey All,
So I am currently experiencing a freezing problem when I try to upload youTube videos through firefox and/or safari after... a checkered past. Hopefully this isn't TMI, just being thurough to save your valuable effort.
iMac Details:
21.5-inch, Late 2009
3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 1067 MHZ DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
OS X 10.8.5 (12F45)
I am using bootCamp with windows 7
     -fyi i did have w7 virtual RAM manually defined (properly or so I thought) and have since reverted to cpu defined vram.
Funny part is when I was exporting a video from iMovie while simultaniously mixing tracks on virtualDJ while playing a youtube video, everything was fine. Now the history...
1. Trouble started when I was getting the 'click of death' and the 'beach ball of death' seemingly at random while running various apps one at a time.
     -I reset my PRAM
     -I was and am still totally unable to run AHT (superdrive is dead and all key comands do nothing)
     -I verified disk permissions (there were a lot of errors so I repaired them)
     -I verified the disk (it passed), I repaired the disk even though it didn't need it.
     -I downloaded, installed and ran MemTest. (passed 100%)
     -I determined that I might have a kernal extension problem so I deleted Virtual Box and that seemed to calm things down... for awhile.
2. So there was peace in the galaxy for a couple months until after running in my windows partition I tried multiple times and could not boot into my OS X partition.
     -I again reset PRAM
     -I again verified and repaired disk permissions (all went fine, tho agian there were many permission errors)
     -I again verified and repaired the disk (even though it passed)
     -I safe booted, it worked
     -I booted into OS X, it worked.
3. Now, I can restart OS X whenever I want but hard freezing (finder is not responding and refuses to relaunch) still occures when uploading video to youTube having tried multiple browsers.
     -Before when it froze Activity Monitor showed no disk activity, and plenty of realMemory was available.
     -I haven't actaully gotten a read form Activity Monitor when trying to upload. I will tho.
     -I have been unable to find any 'memory leaks' tho I may not understand how to track this
     -My bootcamp partion is totally fine and I've since allowed the CPU to define vram
     -Memtest just now passed all tests.
     -I have had to do hard restart several times while trying different internet browsers.
     -My OS X partition has 344.22 GB free of 1.35 TB.
     -I have no external hardware plugged in, only a USB keyboard and mouse.
So, a few questions...
     1. Did my manual addition of Virtual RAM on my bootcamp partition mess up my ram? if so why does it still test okay?
     2. Do I have to run memtest as the root user to get a real read on my ram? I haven't done this, yet.
     3. Why do I still get freezes while uploading video even tho when I try to max out my memory usage everything runs fine, no freezing?
     4. Is my hardrive messed even tho it passes checks when I'm booted to an external recovery drive?
     5. Is Apple trying to tell me they want more of the money I don't have anymore because I bought this thing 5 years ago?

So, I've been attempting to solve the issue by using diskUtility to erase free space on my mac and bootcamp partitions to identify bad drive sectors. Unfortunately erasesing free space did not work after defrag on the bootcamp partition. It simply crashed.
Intitally on the OS X partition I did successfully erase free space and that improved all problems for about 3 days. Then freezes became random and increased in regularity. So I moved about 500GB of data to an external drive (the important stuff) and tried to erase free space again to make it identify bad sectors. So I've tried both booting into my external and recovery drive and having the utility erase free space. Both atempts failed when the utility simply gave up after 2hrs and would no longer recognize the drive. I'm booted into my mac partition right now and am gettimg more random freezing with 2/3 of the drive free.
I'm resigned to claiming warranty and replacing the drive after upgrading it about 2yrs ago but can't find any real info on what my model and serial number are. All info that I've found does not seem to direct me to the correct information as I've tried entering it into Seagate's website and it will not accept my input. Any advice on claiming on my Seagate warranty and possibly what the model and serial number should look like? I can't seem to find the right numbers.

Can not view uploaded videos

After downloading iOS 7 I can not view the uploaded videos in my library. The video shows a gray screen and when I tap on play arrow, says "this operation can not be completed" please direct me!

I had the same problem. Took me a while to put two and two together.
A work around is to use AirPlay, an iOS device (iPad, in my case), and a web browser set to identify itself as a desktop browser. I use Atomic Web. Works on most videos, but sometimes it's a little tricky to start playing. Tapping the center of the video once, usually does the trick.

FaceBook Upload Feature uploads video as a photo still

Hi all.
Maybe this has already been widely discussed, but I've only recently upgraded to the latest iPhoto with the direct FaceBook upload button/feature.
When I try to *upload a video clip shot* with my iPhone from my album/events, it *ended up as a photo still* on my FB page. Is this a bug or a restriction?

Dragging the video directly to the Desktop has the same effect.
Correct. That's why I said
Select the video in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export *Kind: Original* and export to the desktop.
When you import a video iPhoto grabs the first frame as a preview and this goes into the Modified folder inside the Library. So, if you drag it to the desktop that's what you get - this preview. You need to export it.

I have a client who would like to upload video as part of

Not directly through FMS. What you can do is use the FileReference class on the client side and a php program on the server side to uploada file. If PHP is running on the same server as FMS, you can just have the PHP program place the uploaded file in a directory that is accessible to FMS. If not, you'll need to have the PHP program move the file to the FMS server (perhaps using FTP)

If you don't have an iPhone, grab the browser handle and drag it to the left to reduce the width to see how it responds to mobile devices' fixed width browsers .
This will play in all modern browsers and on mobile devices. You can use QuickTime Pro for the OGG or OGV conversion or get the freeware Miro Video Converter...

I uploaded videos to website server and when playing videos they keep buffering and stop & start

Hello, I edited videos in PP CS6 and encoded 1920x1080 clips in .mp4 format. Encoded vbr 2pass 5.00 mbps , audio is AAC 320 kbps, 48khz. The videos play perfect in player on destop, and when downloaded from site, but don't play well
in website player..Even after encoding down to 1280x720, and with a much smaller file size, they still don't play well on site. Please help-

Jim, thank you for responding to my call for help. The internet server that I am uploading videos to, says that it is something to do with my videos size. Like I said I brought the size down to 1280x720 and also
reduced the quality and size of the clips but they still buffered extensively. I had the designer change the player but that was not the problem. So I am back where I began. The server uploaded their video and it
played with no problem so I am thinking its a small correction I need for html5 playability with my clips.
