Upon launching Firefox, the opening page shows an area where I can search for info, but the search button does nothing.
The opening page shows 2 things: a search bar and restore previous session. When I try to use the search bar, nothing happens.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

I'd like to see notes on my laptop screen but have the projector show just the slideActually it is pretty easy. Assuming that you are using "Keynote 09" bear in mind that comments are present on the slide screen and on your display. Presentaation notes are only seen on your computer display and not on the screen. Go to View in the Keynote Header and click "Show Presenter Notes" What will happen is that the notes that you enter will only appear on your display and not the viewers screen. Your notes will appear at the bottom of the slide that you have entered them on. If you want to customize your notes go to the header again and click "Play" and enter "Customize Presenter Display" and you will find a number of options that you can enable or disable. choose your options and click done. Then you can got to "Play" in the Header and click "Rehearse Slideshow" you will be able to see the actions that you have chosen. It will also show the next slide after the slide that is on the screen. Give it a shot, this should help?

When I am standing near the Apple TV with my iPhone, the iPhone lists a number of nearby WiFi networks, including the one in my home. I have running the Apple TV over ethernet up till now, so unfortunately the unit is out of warranty.
That is a modem/wifi problem. Contact your ISP.

How do I get music already on my laptop into my itunes account library? I can't explain this any more clearly. The opening page, after about a second or two, scrolls down to the bottom of the page. I can't see the upper end, where most of my tabs are. I have to begin each session by scrolling upwards.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes.
If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

After installing my new Epson Stylus SX535WD printer on my Windows 7 32 bit computer, Firefox now produces a pop-up error box every time I launch Firefox or open a new Web page in it the following error box pops up multiple times: [JavaScript-Application] Server could not log you in. This error has never error occurred before I installed the printer.
Posting the same question multiple times will not get you an answer any faster..

On the opening page of Firefox, I am constantly reminded (and sometimes warned) that I do not have the latest version of Firefox. Yet, when I click for upgrade, I start getting a download of the same version 8.0.1 which I am already running.

Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same. -
In Firefox 4.0 what happened that Google is not on the opening page?
In the previous version of Firefox, the Google logo with a space for question entry was on the opening page. Now, it seems that Yahoo is the "preferred" place to go for your information. I really do miss the Google page. Of course I can access Google in other ways, but I did like the convenience of the "old way."
You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.

Safari status bar disappears. I have tried clicking on show status bar, under the View tab and it will only appear when I move the cursor to the top of the screen. I can not minimize the open page, only full screen or close the browser. Any idea how the rectify this issue?
One enters and exits full-screen with control+command+F keys. This is on the View menu in Safari. Optionally, the green traffic light in your browser title bar, if you roll over it, has the full-screen control it it. While in full-screen mode with Safari, moving your mouse pointer virtually up, and off-screen reveals the Safari title bar again, and you can click the green traffic light to exit full-screen mode.
You can hide/show the status bar by simply typing command+/. This too, is on the Safari View menu. and in 10.10.1 — it works reliably for me. -
I am using a Macbook running 10.6.8 with Firefox version 9.0.1. Recently, when trying to close the Firefox application, the open page disappears, but the application stays open, but is unresponsive. I must force Quit the application at this point. If I try to work in the Menu Bar I get the spinning beach ball until I do the Force Quit. This isn't right and is making me nervous about the reliability of this browser.
