UPPER and lower case file extensions for Photo Shop Elements using Windows 7

How do I persuade WIndows 7 to show both UPPER and lower case file extensions, which is a very useful facility offered by my ancient, 2002, version of Photoshop Elements? When processing large volumes (100 plus) photos it is very useful to be able to spot those that have been processed among those awaiting my gentle touch. The JPEG file extension produced by my camera is UPPER case so by using "Save as" with lower case the modified photos are immediately spotted. This worked fine on Windows XP and the same programme has loaded and works well on my new laptop which came loaded with Windows 7 EXCEPT that it persists in using UPPER case all the time, irrespective of the preference settings in PSE. HELP!

In PSE there is a facility "File > process multiple files".
Using this facility you can actually process multiple files at one go and you can easily rename images.

  • UPPER and lower case file names problem on CD

    Hello,
I have a CD which contains, in web page format, the contents of a bibliographical work formerly published on paper. The link codes in all these web pages use lower case filenames. Unfortunately, the files on the disk are a mix with some of them in uppercase, i.e. AD4.HTM and some in lower case, i.e. intro.htm.
This disk used to work, under OS 9 in Internet Explorer. But now, under OS X 10.4.11 and using either Safari or Firefox, I'm getting Page Not Found errors whenever the filename is uppercase.
I could copy all the files off the CD to my hard drive and run a renamer utility to change all of them to lower case. But I have another CD from the same publisher -- same problem -- and may get more, and I don't particularly want all those files on my drive anyway. There's a lot of them!
Is there any kind of setting -- perhaps accessible through one of those arcane terminal commands for setting hidden preferences -- which would allow me to tell the Finder (or maybe Safari or Firefox) to not care about the case of the filenames?
Note that I can change the case of a local HTML file and either browser can still find it. This is only happening on the CD.
    TIA
    Rob

I don't think I'll try that one. The most recent update of SheepShaver was slightly over 2 years ago, which indicates to me that the developer is busy doing other things.
I'm very conservative in what I'll install into my system, and old, one-developer software does not fit my standards.
If no other answer comes up, I think I'll copy the files to my hard drive, rename them, then write out a CD with the renamed files and use that one instead. Of course the original CD may contain copy protection features which will prevent this -- I haven't tried it yet.

  • Upper- and lower case filenames

I have two Mac OS Extended (journaled) drives with one on my laptop and one on my desktop. I sometimes get an error that reads:
"You can't copy some of these items because their names are the same as other items on the destination volume, and that volume does not distinguish between upper and lower case letters in filenames. Do you want to skip these items and continue copying other items?"
Recently this happened when trying to force move (using the Command Key) data from my iDisk to my desktop hard drive.
Does anyone know what is going on here?
Is it advisable to first copy data to the desktop on the volume that you are moving to and then move it onto the harddrive and if so what is the reason for this?
    Thanks,
    Jon

    Hi Kappy.
Thanks. Good information. Are you saying you can only /move/ across filesystems or disk volumes or are you saying you can only /copy/ across filesystems or disk volumes.
My impression was that going from one hard drive to another hard drive - that the default was copy, but that you could force a move by holding down the Command Key. When I do this over here the little green plus symbol goes away seeming to imply that it is moving. However, /sometimes/ the dialog says it is Copying and sometime is says it is Moving.
The problem is when it craps out in the middle of a Move (or a Copy). Ignoring the dupe file names with caps issue for the moment - what are you supposed to do when you get through a Move or a Copy (from Hard Drive to Hard Drive for instance) and Finder presents you with an error?!
My understanding of your explanation is that Finder has gotten part way through a Copy and/or (?!) part way through an Erase.
Is there any way of understanding WHERE it has gotten when it says it cannot complete an operation because filexyz.pdf is in use (even when it is not)? If I am moving 100 GB of data (or whatever) how am I supposed to know if it has only Copied some information, Copied and Erased some information, Moved some information, or Moved and Erased some information?
Irrespective of the amount of data, when you get to the point that you cannot reasonably be expected to manually sort through this data how in the world am I supposed to know what Finder has done? More importantly, what is the best way to get back to a point at which you know what information is where?
    Thanks,
    Jon
P.S. I'm moving data in Target Disk mode at this point and I am not getting errors like "The operation can't be completed because an item with the name "folder 100" already exists - WHEN I HAVE ALREADY SELECTED APPLY TO ALL AND OVERWRITE EXISTING FILES.

  • Upper and lower case Username creates Contact, Calendar, Note acces problems

    Dear All
Maybe someone has a solution for this or discovered the same case. Our server infrastructer is using Username with upper and lower case letters e.g "Galler".
Pushing these access data (Username, server adress etc.) for E-Mail, Contact, Calendar and Notes via the profile manager creates problems for the Contact, Calendar and Notes access, because profiles is rechanging the username in all lower case letters "galler". For the E-Mail it is not the case.
Every help would be very appreciated. Maybe some solution in using username alias with only lower case letters, but I don't no how to establish.
Thanks in advance for your help.

It's clearly not impossible, just different than you expect. Create your playlist as you want it to appear in the Current tab (meaning don't dump every single song from your library in there, just the ones you want) and then save the playlist.
Perre wrote:And if I try to play the m3u file created (the one with every song listed) through freevo I get a message that the directory is empty. What am I doing wrong??
Look at save_absolute_paths_in_playlists in your mpd.conf.

  • Is Central Search Searchable Via Upper and Lower Case Letters

    Good evening,
Does anyone know if Central Search is searchable using both upper and lower case letters?  We have the functionality enabled and can only bring back search results when we use upper case letters.  When we search on the same marketing object using lower case letters, we do not get any results. For example, TK2292 brings back marketing object TK0002292 but tk2292 does not bring back any results.  Advanced Search appears to be able to handle both search scenarios.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Gregg

    Hello,
Did you put a breakpoint in the query method to check what you receive in the field 'marketing object' when you start from the central search of the advanced search?
    Is it different?

    Hi
here you can find all the functions permitted in the OpenSQL:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9b/f46cabaa874bc9a82234e8cf1d0696/frameset.htm
So I think that Upper/Lower are not permitted... the work around is to get all the records and check the Upper and Lower case using Java Code functions into your business methods.

Make sure that you haven't saved Uppercase and Lowercase versions of that name and password.

  • Managing Upper and Lower Case in URLs

    Hello,
In conjuction with using Dreamweaver and the 'Round Trip' feature with Fireworks, I've created a menu (with drop-down and horizontal kick-out submenus) using the 'Slice' feature; however, every time I save the Fireworks file, all the first-letter upper-case letters I created (in the link's URL) for directories and filenames revert back to all lower case in the link's URL address. Is there some way within the Fireworks application where I can de-activate this automated 'lower case' default? I would like to have the choice as to retain my upper case letters in the URL each time I save the file and perform a round trip to Dreamweaver....AND...also have the upper-case letters retained after closing the Fireworks app and opening it up again (which does not happen at present). Any and all advice would certainly be appreciated!
    Many thanks!

    Hi Linda,
Thank you for your feedback. You're right in a way that I find I have to tweak my upper/lower case letters in the Dreamweaver source code. But let's say I want to add another graphical menu selection to my drop-down menu (created by editing my 'slice' in Fireworks with its own .html file under my site directory 'images' folder)...but, as a result of invoking the 'Round Trip' function between Fireworks and Dreamweaver, the new menu selection also now appears in my Dreamweaver's index.html page --- after 'Save' , and as it should do (...BUT...overwriting all upper-case letters in all URLS within the index.html file---all the ones I had to tweak before in the Dreamweaver index.html source code ---- so, it appears every time I want to create a new graphical menu selection (or even edit an existing one for that matter) in Fireworks...the round trip writes over all my previous upper/lower case URL tweaks in Dreamweaver. If I could somehow manage the upper/lower case issue within Fireworks--and maintain it between closing and re-opening Fireworks--that would definitely solve the problem.
    Kind regards,
    John

  • Upper and Lower case letters

    Hi Folks
I  have lower case letters coming in lot of fields - The lower case letters are coming in Key and Data Fields. In short my 90% od the infoobject have this challenge.
    I know I have following 2 options
    (1) Convert to upper in transformation
    (2) change the infoobject setting.
I read couple of messages and I know putting "Convert to upper" in routines is a better option.
Now I am trying to look why the option 2 is not good.
I can guess the following reasons but I am looking for an SAP help document which can confirm the same.  Or if any users have experinced this issues when you allow lower case letters.
    (a) F4 list can take longer, this can impact query perfromance
    (b) Indexing can take longer.
(c)Search will become case sensitive- SAP gives a warning when you switch on lower case letters.
    regards

  • Select in upper and lower case - Is it possible ?

    Helle expert,
I have to make a select from BUT000 table. My selection's fields are NAME_LAST and NAME_FIRST.
    My question is:
there's a command or an option that allow to select the row if the value is in upper case and also in lower case ?
I mean that I want to select if NAME_LAST  is Roberto, or ROBERTO, or roberto.
    any idea ?
    tks.

I mean that I want to select if NAME_LAST is Roberto, or ROBERTO, or roberto
    Hello,
If you check the domain for NAME_LAST & NAME_FIRST which is BU_NAME, the checkbox "Lowercase" is checked. Hence the SELECT will not perform in the way you want it to perform.
I think while SELECTing data from BUT000 for the fields without NAME_LAST & NAME_FIRST in the WHERE clause. Then LOOP the internal table & filter the data.
    DATA:
    BEGIN OF IT_BUT000 OCCURS 0,
    NAME_LAST(40)  TYPE C,
    NAME_FIRST(40) TYPE C,
    END OF IT_BUT000.
    SELECT * FROM BUT000 INTO TABLE IT_BUT000[]
    WHERE <if you have any other fields w/o using NAME_LAST & NAME_FIRST >.
    IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
    LOOP AT IT_BUT000[].
    IF IT_BUT000-NAME_LAST = 'rObErTo'.
    *  Do your validation
    ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    ENDIF.
    Hope i am clear.

  • Using upper AND lower case fonts in iMoive - How?

Can smoen please tell me how to get lower case fonts in a title in iMovie 11? I know there have been a lot of changes wihth thie version and it has a lot or power I want to explore- this one has me stumped
    HELP!

thanks for you patient and apology for my poor english skill.
at the moment i do need animation in the first palce, the thing is, my "title" is a sentence, and it will automanticaly take two line if i select the font size to 80, when i was applying the "expand" title style, in the beginning of the animation, it was fine, however, when it goes on expanding, the words in one line takes onger than before so some words were moved to the second line.
please refer to the images, first one was the beginning of expanding animation, the second one is what it is changed like ("40" was moved all of a sudden to the second line).
    thanks.

  • Upper and lower case conversion

    Hi,
I need small help on conversions.
I need to convert the data in database tables to lower case.
Like i need to pick some data from a database table. The data stored in the database table is in uppercase. Here i need to convert the data to lowercase through the select statement. Is there any way to do this.
    Regards,
    Ram

    Hi ram,
    1. in r/3,
       working with upper/lower case,
with database tables, is very tricky.
    <b>(SIMPLY USING SQL WILL NOT
FETCH BOTH KIND OF DATA - UPPERCASE/lowercase/MIXED)</b>
    2. For your requirement,
    3.
      a) just get ALL data from vendor master
         (without any filteration of name)
          in ITAB
      b) LOOP AT ITAB.
         IF ITAB-VENDORNAME CS 'GOOD'.
         ELSE.
         DELETE ITAB.
         ENDLOOP.
    4. After the step (b),
<b> itab will contain only GOOD vendors.
      (irrespective of capital / lowercase) / mixedCASE</b>
    regards,
    amit m.
