I've tried to upgrade from 10.7.4 to 10.9.5 (Yosemite), but the computer seems to be stuck in re-start. The 'waiting bar' has not moved for 2 hours. What do I do?

Yosemite is 10.10.x
Try rebooting into Recovery mode and use Disk Utility to repair the hard drive.

I had this hotmail issue myself a while back. I Googled, scanned MS website, scanned MSN website, visited forums, couldn't figure it out. I tried Firefox and Opera and even changed the Opera mask setting from Opera to Internet Explorer. Nothing worked. My best guess was that I was signing on (with the new MSN Live as opposed to MSN Hotmail - the OLD interface) with the "Remember me on this computer?" box checked. I now make sure it is un-checked (which is not the default) and hotmail lets me in.
Not exactly sure if that is the real remedy, but thot I'd throw the story your way just in case...

You have two choices to try & fix this: 1. Backup your phone, then restore as a new device, then restore from the backup you first created, or 2. Follow the advise from this poster:
I had the same problem with the black blocks after upgrading to iOS4 on my iPhone. The reason for the black blocks is that the thumbnail images for those particular images have not been created when the Photo Library has been updated to iOS4. I followed the advice on a couple of blogs and fixed the problem.
1. I downloaded iPhone Explorer free software (http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/) so I could view the photo data folders on my phone. I could see that the thumbnail images were missing.
2. I followed a slight variation on the instructions on this blog. (http://blog.mbentley.net/2010/06/iphone-ios-4-upgrade-restore-lost-pictures-in-c amera-roll/)
3. First I copied the Photo Data folder by dragging it from the iPhone Explorer window to my Mac desktop.
4. Through iPhone Explorer I deleted the info.plist file in the Media/PhotoData/MISC folder.
5. I also deleted the Photos.sqlite and PhotosAux.sqlite files in Media/PhotoData.
6. I then rebooted the phone and launched the Photo Library.
7. The Library rebuilt it's self again and recreated the thumbnails.
8. The problem was fixed!!! Thank you M Bentley!
I hope this helps - this has been bugging me for 2 weeks.

Uprading to leopard

Going to uprade to leopard before upgrading aperture 1.5 to 2.1, is there any known problems with this procedure? I have a very large library and several aperture vaults.

I've known a couple of people that still had Aperture 1.5 installed after a Leopard upgrade, there shouldn't be any problems with that. If you're worried about any library issues then just make sure you have your vault backed up. In any case, it should be just fine.

Uprade a DL385 G1 to OES11 ?

Hi all: I know from a previous post that it is possible (albeit not straight forward) to do a clean install of OES11 on an HP DL385 G1 server even though it is officially not supported by HP. But how about an upgrade of OES2 to OES11? Has anyone performed an upgrade of a DL385 G1 successfully?

We've installed OES11 (not SP1) on a DL385 G1 without problem, so I
don't see any reason why OES11 SP1 wouldn't work.

My co-worker actually does all the HP stuff, but he's out until Tuesday. I'll see if he remembers.
We're replacing all our servers with G6/G7 models now, because of hardware supports reasons. Further, we're putting everything into VMware now as well because there's a very good chance we may need to either also install Windows servers in our regions or migrate to Windows in a few years.
Although that brings up a whole host of other issues (HP integration with VMware for monitoring, etc.) and then we have to rely upon NAGIOS to monitor the OES Guest stuff for disk space usage, etc.

Sent a email complaint yesterday to BT....This is what the response was...
"Jastinder, you will need to contact our premium mail tech team on 0800 111 4567 and they will be able to go through this with you. Im sorry that I can not help you with your complaint it will have to go through our tech team. "
Incredible, they have been the people I have been dealing with for the last month and the people I am complaining about. Rather than escalate the matter with that department internally in order to resolve it like any other complaints department would they want me to resolve it myself..?? It is like going to a shop's manager to complain about a member of their staff only to be told by that manager that they cannot help and I would need to speak to that member of staff that I was complaining about.
Surely this is not how complaints are dealt with (or are they within BT). Surely they should have escalated this matter themselves to the Tech Team and ensured that I received a response. They never even acknowledged anything I said within the complaint regarding a resolution or customer loyalty....
It was one thing being frustrated by that fact that this issue has dragged on for a month, but it's another matter that my complaint has been washed aside in this manner....I'm totally disgusted and the best thing is now to cancel my Premium Mail Service immeditately and change my telephone service over to o2...

My iphone 5 is not working. I have a little more than a month to upgrade a new phone.. Is there any way i can uprade now without paying full price?

SCCM 2012 R2 Uprade - Database Concerns

I recently completed the R2 upgrade process on my production environment. Everything appeared to complete successfully. No errors, warnings, or issues aside from this RBAC mishap -

After some further usage I'm finding some inconsistencies in my reporting data. Here's an example:
A software deployment went out last week to my users. This was a simple application upgrade, moving from 1 version to the next.
On multiple computers I can see the deployment was received and installed successfully. If I open Programs and Features I can see the software version has been updated.
From there I open the ConfigMgr console and fire up resource explorer. On multiple computers I can see a recent software scan has picked up the new software and it is reflected in resource explorer.
Now comes the DB issue - I run a manual DB query using the ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS table and it consistently shows me the outdated software version. This table is giving me incorrect data. Here's an example of the query I'm using:

Great point! I checked my last hardware inventory and it was back in December! Yikes! I pulled up my workstation policy and got hit with an ugly error as reported in
this thread. At the moment I'm rebuilding my workstation policy and will see if that resolves hardware inventory.

The application I'm reporting on is 32-bit. This is primarily why I didn't expand to include 64-bit programs.

Upraded Sql Developer and can't connect to Oracle

I just updated to the Dec 2009 release and now I can't connect
When I click the plus or right click on Connections and select "New Connection" nothing happens.
If I monitor processes in task manager it shows a brief spike in cpus and a small increase in memory usage but nothing happens in the app.
I also noticed that when I close the application it does not leave memory. I have to kill the process via the task manager to get rid of it.
If I go back to version 1.5.1 it works fine. It also leaves memory when terminated

I used to be able to go back several pages but when I upraded to this forefox version, I can only go back one page at a time. Upon hovering on the back button, it doesnt show the previous pages i have been to. How can i get the feature again?

HT1335 ipod nano won't stay connected to pc after uprading from windows vista to windows 7

I can't keep it connected long enough to do anything with it. Have tried resetting ipod manually and switching to disc mode to no avail...

woo hoo! fixed it....ok..here's what to do...disconnect ipod from pc, toggle hold/release switch on top of nano, reconnect to pc, hold top and center button until apple appears, as soon as you see apple hold center and bottom button to start disk mode....reformat disk following on screen directions....disconnect and start itunes, reconnect and follow instructions on setting up new ipod, make sure you choose factory reset and go from there. Yesss!!!

Upraded to 10.5.6 and two of my four displays are no longer "detectable"

I was happily running 4 displays from my 2 graphics cards (9600XT and 9200) under 10.3.9. 3 x DVI (one of which is with the ACI adapter) and 1 running via VGA to a plasma TV. The 3 displays running from DVI were all "name" recognized in System Preferences and all resolution options were available under 10.3.9.
I have now upgraded to 10.5.6 (and subsequently 10.5.8 in case that solved the issue) and suddenly two of the displays aren't recognized and I am only given a single, low resolution option, if I press "Detect" is does nothing but if I untick the button to show me all Colour profiles..there are all my original profiles with the names of the displays but you can't select them per se. - also on these two affected displays, display the Leopard background (the Universe pic) is mainly blue - almost like when you have a loose cable (but they are not). It's almost like the black and yellow has been take out. Both screens are "usable" in that you can clearly read them just one is now in 640 x 400 ( I think) and the other in 1024 x 768 (24" Widescreen Dell).
The problem is not card specific i.e. it seem to effect one socket from each card - the VGA on the stock Apple ATI card and one DVI on the ATI 9200
I have tried swapping the displays between the cards and when I do the alternate display is then recognized so it can't be a problem with any of the displays either.
Any ideas? I need all 4 displays running in their respective resolutions (and without a blue screen) for Logic screenshots.

Ok.. tried the Sysresex that fixed others HDMI Mac Mini problem - but that didn't work. It can't be a problem with Application Enhancer as I didn't have that installed, although I do now just to see if it made any difference.
I have tried unseating and reseating both video cards and nothing. I know it's not the drivers for the displays as they work when swapped.

please grant 777 rights to this folder. also, before continuing try to restart system as may be ur SLOG file is holded by any process.

Uprading Phone questions to a confused person?

So um I'm going to upgrade my phone in about a week. My contract was previously set from the LG EnV 3 but I lost that one so I had my mom's old phone and I was still able to keep that contract. Anyway, I have several questions regarding upgrading my phone. I tried contacting the verizon wireless store from the information given from the "Contact Us" on this website but it didn't work for some reason.
Anyway, my first question is how much will the verizon company give for an upgrade? I've been hearing it's anywhere from $25 to $100. Next week, my two year contract will end so does that mean I'm going to get $100, and hopefully not just $25, for my upgrade?
Next, I heard in some droid forum that if you're contract is expired and you are getting an upgrade after or when your contract expires, you get an extra $50 off of whatever you're buying? Is this true?
Third, I have a $50 giftcard to bestbuy. Can I use this giftcard to buy a droid phone (Incredible or X2 or something like that) from bestbuy and still have the same coverage and data plan or whatever?

Anyway, my first question is how much will the verizon company give for an upgrade? I've been hearing it's anywhere from $25 to $100. Next week, my two year contract will end so does that mean I'm going to get $100, and hopefully not just $25, for my upgrade? This depends on a few things. The credit you're referring to is called the NE2 discount. This discount only applies to the primary line on the account, and the price depends on your calling plan and the last time you signed a contract. This program was done away with in January of this year, so if you DO have any left to use, it will be your last one. If you log on to My Verizon (you must be the account owner) it will show you how much of a discount you have to use, or you can call Customer Service. This credit does expire 6 months after you become eligible (so, 6 months AFTER your 20 month point of your contract is fulfilled)
Next, I heard in some droid forum that if you're contract is expired and you are getting an upgrade after or when your contract expires, you get an extra $50 off of whatever you're buying? Is this true? This is the same thing as the credit I spoke of above. Verizon doesn't "give you" anything for an upgrade - just the NE2 credit if you're eligible.
Third, I have a $50 giftcard to bestbuy. Can I use this giftcard to buy a droid phone (Incredible or X2 or something like that) from bestbuy and still have the same coverage and data plan or whatever? 3rd party retailers often have their own contracts and return/exchange policies, as well as warranties and insurance. Just be sure to read everything very carefully and know what you're signing up for. 3rd party retailers do not honor NE2 credits - those can only be redeemed through Verizon. Remember, if you choose to go with Best Buy and you do in fact have an NE2 credit on your line - you will lose that for good.
Yeah I got my LG EnV 3 as a surprise present and they handle the monthly payments and all the stuff so I'm new to all of this.
Also please remember that since you're upgrading to a smartphone from a feature phone, you'll have to add one of the new tiered data plans. If you had a data plan on your EnV3, it will not be grandfathered in due to it being a feature phone.

Support Package uprade in endless loop

Hello experts,
we have a SP upgrade (from ECC level 10 to SP-level 16) running in a queue that is getting imported via SPAM (version 36). The import has been running for more than 24 hours, is this normal or did I hit an endless loop?
I noticed it has been running (and still is) in one phase only
for ages:
"INFORM SAP-SYSTEM OF TP TERMINATION"
In the log files I can see this warning:
Background job RDDIMPDP could not be started or terminated abnormally
Looking around in this forum I think I've found the solution, I have to reschedule the background job RDDIMPDP.
But my problem is that am running in downtime-minimized mode in SPAM and I cannot logon to sap system anymore, it gives me a syntax error if I try to. How can I cancel this SPAM import, can I somewhere kill processes, or should I just restart the SAP application server??
Can you please, please advise? Your help is really appreciated!

If you are getting Syntax error for every Txn. then u can't do anything expect Restore.
I faced same problem some days before & resolved by restoring the backup.
Also in my case the exact problem is the wrong value of parameter rdisp/msvsrv_internal & I reset it to default value 0 & next time my patch is upgrade successfully.

IOS 8 Upraded and unable to Backup to ITunes.

I am unable to Backup to ITunes after upgrading to IOS 8 due to unknown error.
I have tried on 2 Authorizes Computers with the same negative result.
Is anyone able to please help resolve my issue.
