Upstream proxy connectivity issue

Hi,
I have recently installed WSA S170 in one site which is pointing to one of the existing proxy. I have defined routing policy in new proxy through which some of the local domain is accessible through new proxy and rest of the domain will be through existing proxy.
User's are facing slowness when they are accessing other than local domain at the same time local domain is working fine.
I have disabled all scanning feature in new proxy for all other domain to avoid delay but still issue persist.
Connection flow.
For local Domain :
Client ----> New Proxy---> Internet
Other domain :
Client ---> new proxy---> Existing proxy---> Internet
Version information :
New proxy : cisco wsa s170  OS : 7.7.0 - 753
Exising proxy : cisco wsa s670  OS : 7.5.1 - 201
Is it becuse of dual proxy connection hapening for other domain?
Please suggest.
Regards
Chirag

Hi,
In cases wherein we have an upstream proxy, we need to make the following configuration on the WSA:
-- Go to 'Network' tab > 'Upstream Proxy' > Configure the Upstream Proxy
-- Go to 'Web Security Manager' > 'Routing Policy' > Configure a policy to use the Routing Destination  pointing to the Upstream Proxy configured above.
-- If the upstream proxy is performing authentication, you will need to disable authentication on the Cisco Ironport Web Security Appliance.
Note: If the path to get to the software update site is also through the same upstream proxy, then Go to 'System Administration' > 'Upgrade and Update Settings' > Edit Update Settings > configure the Proxy Server section.
Do rate if Helpful----

  • Outlook 2011 Connection Issue with Proxy Server after 10.8 Upgrade

    Hello,
    After upgrading my MBA to 10.8, my MS Outlook (Outlook Mac 2011) mail connection does not work for an exchange based mail account where a VPN/proxy server combination is involved. This was not an issue at all under 10.7. What's interesting is that it's not an issue with MS Outlook 2010 on my Parallels VM either under 10.8. There are no internet connectivity issues, I am able to connect to the internet using Safari and other browsers. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Manish

    I was having a similar problem using Outlook 2011 running under Mountain Lion (10.8.2) on an MacBook Pro. When at work, behind our proxy server, I could not get Outlook to connect to a client's public Exchange server, but this worked fine without changing any settings when I was connected to our DMZ network or at home (no proxy server in these cases). My MacBook was configured to use "Auto Proxy Configuration", and Safari worked fine in all three locations (as did Apple mail)
    Today, the Microsoft Office auto-updater downloaded an update, and since it was installed, the problem has been fixed and I've been able to connect to our client's external Exchange server event when behind our local proxy server (Outlook now reports that the latest installed update is 14.2.5)

  • Fed up with speed and connection issues since exch...

    Last Monday BT done some upgrade work at our local exchange.  From that point onwards we have had speed and connection issues.
    I use a Belkin G Router rather that the Homehub some that we can run a printer through it and that is plugged in to telephone socket via an extension.  But before we blame any of that we have gone back to the Homehub2 so we could see the difference and there is very little.
    We live in the countrside so broadband speeds are not great in any case.  About 1.8 mg I guess but we have always had no problems.  It was good enough for us and we could watch Iplayer.
    I was getting fed up with drop outs and speed and yestereday an Openreach guy came out tested everything could not find any problems apart from speed.  He made some calls and was told our band width had been capped.  He had that removed and yesterday evening speed was a bit better.
    Today just as bad again.

    Hi Welcome to the forums
    Your high noise margin  will have a major impact  on your speed
    If you post the full stats from your router
    For homehub – type 192.168.1.254 into your browser
    Navigate to ADSL Settings or use the A-Z at the top right of the home page and scroll down to ADSL Settings and click on it
    Click on More Details and then post the full results.
    also post the full results from http://speedtester.bt.com/
    Have you tried connecting to the test socket at the rear of the master socket
    Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
    also you could try the hints given by poster RogerB in this link they may help http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-in-Home/Poor-Broadband-speed/m-p/14217#M8397

  • IPad2, Verizon 3G, VPN Connectivity Issues

    Greetings all. I am the systems administrator for my corporation and have seen an issue that I wish to present to the community for discussion.
    For those enterprise users that have an iPad2 with Verizons 3G, are you experiencing connectivity issues while trying to connect to your VPNs from the 3G network? If so, have you found any work around to allow connectivity or does it work fine for you?
    Here's a summary of my issues:
    We have a VPN server built on Debian Linux that has been in operation for over four years. It handles remote VPN connections from Windows, Linux,  Android, OS X, iOS, and from many different devices including multiple flavors of Apple products (iMacs, Minis, MacBooks, iPads, etc.). To date, it has performed flawlessly with assorted devices connecting to it through broadband and assorted 3G networks.
    Recently I purchased an iPad2 with Verizon 3G. I was able to set up the VPN connection using PPTP and connect using a Wi-Fi connection. When I turned off the Wi-Fi and attempted the same connection via Verizon 3G, it fails. I then took an associates iPad1 using AT&T 3G, set up the same connection, and was able to connect. I don't have access to an iPad2 on AT&T 3G so, I can't speak for that.
    Here's the logs from the VPN server while connecting from my iPad2:
    Wi-Fi
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: Plugin /usr/lib/pptpd/pptpd-logwtmp.so loaded.
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: pptpd-logwtmp: $Version$
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: pppd 2.4.4 started by root, uid 0
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: Using interface ppp2
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: Connect: ppp2 <--> /dev/pts/4
    Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: Unsupported protocol 'IPv6 Control Protocol' (0x8057) received
    Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: found interface eth1 for proxy arp
    Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: local  IP address 192.168.1.69
    Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: remote IP address 192.168.1.82
    Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: pptpd-logwtmp.so ip-up ppp2 scott XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (removed external IP for security reasons)
    Quick connect, able to utilize VPN connection normally. No issues.
    Verizon 3G
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: Plugin /usr/lib/pptpd/pptpd-logwtmp.so loaded.
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: pptpd-logwtmp: $Version$
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: pppd 2.4.4 started by root, uid 0
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: Using interface ppp2
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: Connect: ppp2 <--> /dev/pts/4
    Jul 27 05:20:32 localhost pppd[31682]: peer refused to authenticate: terminating link
    Jul 27 05:20:33 localhost pppd[31682]: Connection terminated.
    Jul 27 05:20:33 localhost pppd[31682]: Exit.
    As you can see, the peer refuses to authenticate causing the link to be terminated while attempting to connect using Verizons network. This is with the same VPN connection settings on the iPad2 that just worked with WiFi connection from the same device.
    Here's what I can verify with regards to 3G networks:
    Older (<4) iPhones and iPad1 using AT&T can connect
    Windows and OS X based laptops using Sprint 3G can connect
    Android based smart phones using Sprint 3G can connect
    I have not called Verizon or Apple Support yet but, that's next when I have the time. My initial conclusion is that there is something with Verizons 3G services that is causing the issue. It may be that Verizon is using some sort of data compression process that is problematic with VPN transmission. While the log shows an unsupported IPv6 protocol when connecting via Wi-Fi, it still negotiates a successful connection and I don't think that's the root cause for the disconnect. Thoughts?

    Hi Alexander,
    I am running in to the exact same issue (although not with Linux).  Did you ever find a fix for this?  I have some support tickets open with my VAR's, but found your post and thought I would check.  If I find anything I will post.
    Thanks

  • Exchange 2010 to 2013 Migration: Authentication/Proxy Settings Issue

    I'm in the final stages of preparing for our Exchange 2010 to 2013 migration. I'm noticing minor authentication issues on mobile devices (android & ios) and proxy setting issues with Outlook that require user intervention. In an effort to make the migration
    as smooth as possible for our internal users, I'd like to get these settings ironed out before starting the migration.
    Symptoms:
    Outlook - I'm aware that internal Outlook usage has changed its connection protocol from RCP/TCP to RCP/HTTP, but it appears that Outlook isn't updating its settings in the "Microsoft Exchange Proxy Settings" after a users mailbox has been migrated
    from 2010 to 2013. Currently, 2010 users with Outlook 2013 have the following settings configured in Outlook's Exchange Proxy Settings:
    URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange: webmail.domain.com
    Connect using SSL only: Checked
    Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificates: Unchecked
    On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP: Unchecked
    On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP: Checked
    After migrating a user's mailbox from 2010 to 2013, the above settings remain the same in Outlook and their client disconnects from Exchange and isn't able to reconnect. After manually enabling the checkbox for "On fast networks, connect using HTTP
    first, then connect using TCP/IP", Outlook clients are able to connect to Exchange via their newly migrated mailbox.
    Is there a way to automatically updating these 2 proxy settings in Outlook during the migration instead of having to manually change each user's configuration in Outlook?
    Android & iOS - Currently, users on Android & iOS with Exchange 2010 mailboxes have the following configuration:
    domain: blank
    username: their AD username
    server: webmail.domain.com
    After migrating a mobile users mailbox from 2010 to 2013, neither OS (Android or iOS) is able to connect due to an authentication failure. On iOS, if I manually change the domain from blank to my company's domain, authentication succeeds and their 2013 mailbox
    begins to update. On Android, the option to change the domain name from null is grayed out, requiring the user to delete the Exchange profile and re-add it with the domain name intact. Is there a way to configure Exchange 2013 to not require the domain name
    for mobile users in the same way that it's been working for us with Exchange 2010?
    Please let me know if you require cmdlet print outs of my virtual directories to help troubleshoot the issue.

    Hi,
    Generally, when the user mailbox is moved from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013, the Autodiscover service would detect the changes and update the new configuration automatically.
    Please make sure the autodiscover service in your new Exchange 2013 is configured correctly. We can create a new mailbox in Exchange 2013 and check whether the new Exchange 2013 user can setup account successfully in Outlook or not. If the new user works
    fine, it indicates the autodiscover service in Exchange 2013 should be proper for internal user.
    Please restart the following Exchange service to have a try:
    Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access
    Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication
    Restart IIS service by running IISReset in a Command Prompt window.
    Then check whether the Outlook client can connect to Exchange 2013 or not.
    As for Android & iOS issue, I suggest we can ask a question in ActiveSync forum for more suggestion:

  • Oracle 10g Rel 2  - Proxy connection authentication with SAP User ID

    Dear Experts,
    We are currently doing some research and planning to upgrade SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6 and upgrading Oracle from version 9.2 to 10.2
    In upgrading to Oracle vers. 10g Rel 2, we got advised that Oracle has apparently introduced a new proxy connection authentication, in which the SAP user ID is given limited privileges (create session only) ??
    If you have any information on this or known any impact about this issue, please advise us.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your help, Kaushal.
    I also found the SAP Note 834917 (Oracle Database 10g: New database role SAPCONN and it seems to be on a right direction to cope with that problem.
    - For Oracle releases earlier than 10gR2, the CONNECT role includes extensive database authorizations and the more restrictive CONNECT as of 10gR2.
    - To overcome this restriction, SAP need to find a way to compensate this, so does it come SAPCONN.
    - SAPCONN is the new SAP-specific database role, which is defined to support the normal SAP applications operations (CONNECT, RESOURCE and SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE).
    Once again, thanks.

  • Https via upstream proxy fails

    Something has changed at an upstream proxy that we use.
    now in chrome we try any https sites we get:
    Error 111 (net::ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED)
    In IE we just get page not found http 400 bad request.
    What should I be saying to the upstream proxy folk to get them to fix this.
    I used to be OK

  • Can you help with my connection issues

    I cannot connect to my Contribute CS3 even though my server is fine. Does anyone have any suggestions? I spent the last hour on the phone with my server company and they tried but failed to help me connect.

    Please try the following steps.
    Delete the existing connection from Edit -> My connection .
    Create a new connection and when you Click the Advanced button next to the "How do you connect to your web server?" field in the Connection Information dialog box.
    Try toggling the Passive Mode check box (if it is unchecked, check it; if it is checked, uncheck it).
    If you are behind a firewall, check the Use firewall/proxy settings when connecting check box and click the Firewall Settings or Proxy Settings button to enter firewall information. Ask your local network administrator for help with these settings.
    Once done with the new connection you would be able to connect to your website. For more information on connection issues you may use this link http://helpx.adobe.com/contribute/kb/troubleshoot-connection-problems-contribute.html

  • Initiating Upstream Proxy request on Cache-Miss (ACNS)

    1. Client has two (2) tier Content Routing network architecture:
    Client<->Tier_2_CE <-> Tier_1_CE <-> Origin_Server_01
    2. Client does not have EXPLICIT PROXY configured on browser pointing to Tier_2_CE
    3. Network uses Content Routing to redirect client requests to appropriate Tier_2_CE (proximity search using CZF, channel assignment)
    4. SCENARIO_PRE-POSITIONED: (WORKS FINE)
    4.1 Client requests PRE-POSITIONED content from CDN
    4.2 Client request redirected to Tier_2_CE
    4.3 Tier_2_CE services request from PRE-POSITINED content (i.e. cache-hit)
    5. SCENARIO_NONE-PRE-POSITIONED:
    5.1 Tier_2_CE configured with outgoing HTTP proxy pointing to Tier_1_CE:
    "http proxy outgoing host X.Y.Z.W 8080 primary"
    5.2 Tier_1_CE configured with inbound HTTP proxy
    "http proxy incoming 8080"
    5.3 Tier_1_CE configured with outgoing HTTP proxy pointing to Origin Server:
    "http proxy outgoing host A.B.C.D 80 primary"
    5.4 ISSUE
    5.4.1 Client request for NONE-PREPOSITIONED content reaches appropriate Tier_2_CE
    5.4.2 Tier_2_CE does not make Upstream request for content on Cache_MISS
    6. QUESTIONS
    6.1 Can you point me to reference documentation around proxy configuration (environments not using (a) WCCP (b) explicit proxy configuration)
    6.2 Provide some configuration guidance/samples around this scenario
    regards,

    Thanks Mary,
    It appears as if the configurations that are outlined on that page either
    (1) assume that the subscriber / client has
    EXPLICITLY configured a proxy server in their browser that points to their Tier-2/edge CE farm or
    (2) the access infrastructure into the CDN (essentially edge routers) are configured with WCCP
    Let me know if this is not the case, as I may be mis-reading & mis-configuring.
    In my setup, the Tier-2/edge CE's are configured to
    (3) listen for inbound requests on (80, 8080) and
    (4) point to an upstream proxy A.B.C.D:8080
    ISSUE
    (5) In normal operating conditions (i.e. content IS pre-positioned), client requests are fully serviced from CDNFS on the Tier-2/edge CE's
    (6) When content is not available on CDNFS (none-prepositioned), a cache miss occurs on the Tier-2/edge CE's.
    (7) What is the best way to configure my Tier-2/edge CE's so that they ALWAYS query upstream proxy for content in the event of a CACHE-MISS on local CDNFS?
    (8) How do I enable this ((7) above) without having to use rules on the Tier-2/edge CE's?
    Thanks again,
    regards,

  • ACE - TCP Options for Proxy-Connections

    Hi all,
    I have the issue that my ACE does not seem to allow tcp options with L7 proxied connections to the servers. For the client side connection I see the TCP option timestamp for example, but unfortunately the ACE itself does not put the timestamp option into its own TCP connection to the rserver. A 'parameter-map type connection' does only seem to have an effect on L4 connections, not proxied ones. Does anybody know a way how to tell the ACE to have e.g. a timestamp option in the TCP connection to the server as part of a L7 loadbalancing?
    Any help is highly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Daniel,
    we do not support timestamp at L7.
    I think we only support window scaling.
    Gilles.

  • Troubleshooting for RPC over https (Outlook Anywhere) connection issue

    RPC over https (ROH), well known as Outlook Anywhere, is more frequently used. Even in Exchange 2013, Outlook no longer connects CAS server via MAPI.
    In this thread, we will discuss about the troubleshoot checklist about the RPC over https (Outlook Anywhere) connection issue. In order to make it more logical, I’d like to divide the whole troubleshooting to the following processes:
    1. Client side to CAS side
    2. CAS side to MBX side
    [Issues between Client side to CAS side]
    In Exchange 2013, Outlook Anywhere is enabled by default. Different from this, Outlook Anywhere in Exchange 2007 and 2010 need to be manually enabled. Thus, please firstly check if the RPC over HTTP component has been installed:
    Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    Double-click Programs and Features.
    In the left pane of Server Manager, click Features.
    In the right pane, click Add Features.
    Check if the RPC over HTTP component has been selected.
    If the ROH connectivity issue only happens on certain users, the property MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHTTP can be checked:
    Get-CASMailbox  name | fl MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHttp
    2. Confirm if Exchange server is blocked. Ping the Exchange server FQDN on client machine and confirm if it can return the proper IP address.
    3. Check if the RPC Proxy server is responding correctly:
     rpcping -t ncacn_http -s ExchServer -o RpcProxy=RPCProxyServer -P "user,domain,*" -I "user,domain,*" -H 2 -u 10 -a connect -F 3 -v 3 -E -R none
    If 200 code returns, the test is successful.
    4. Check if Outlook Anywhere host names are added in the certificate:
    To get host names, the following command can be used: get-outlookanywhere |fl *hostname
    5. To use the Shell to test Outlook Anywhere connectivity, use the
    Test-OutlookConnectivity cmdlet.
    [Issues between CAS side to Mailbox side][RZ1]
    A. Check if it can connect to store’s port:
    RpcPing –t ncacn_http –s ExchangeMBXServer -o RpcProxy=RpcProxyServer -P "user,domain,password" -I "user,domain,password" -H 1 –F 3 –a connect –u 10 –v 3 –e 6001
    If it returns as following: Completed 1 calls in 60 ms  16 T/S or 60.000 ms/T, it means the RPC Ping Utility test succeeds.
    B. Check if it can Connect to DsProxy Service:
    RpcPing –t ncacn_http –s ExchangeMBXServer -o RpcProxy=RpcProxyServer -P "user,domain,password" -I "user,domain,password" -H 2 –F 2 –a connect –u 10 –v 3 –e 6004
    If it returns as following: Completed 1 calls in 60 ms  16 T/S or 60.000 ms/T, it means the RPC Ping Utility test succeeds.
    C. Check the following registries:
    [Disable the auto update]
    1).Open Regedit and navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeServiceHost\RpcHttpConfigurator\RpcHttpConfigurator
    2).Set the PeriodicPollingMinutes value to 0.
    [Check the RpcProxy ValidPorts]
    1).On the RPC proxy server, start Registry Editor (Regedit).
    2). In the console tree, locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Rpc\RpcProxy
    3). In the details pane, right-click the ValidPorts subkey, and then click Modify.
    4). In Edit String, in the Value data box, type the following information:
    ExchangeServer :6001-6002; ExchangeServerFQDN :6001-6002; ExchangeServer :6004; ExchangeServerFQDN :6004
    Note:
    ExchangeServer is the NetBIOS name of your Exchange server. ExchangeServerFQDN is the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of your Exchange server. If the FQDN that is used to access the server from the Internet differs from the internal FQDN, you must use
    the internal FQDN.
    [Check the 6004 port settings in registry]
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeSA\Parameters
    Value name: HTTP Port
    Value type: REG_DWORD
    Value data: 0x1772 (Decimal 6002)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeSA\Parameters
    Value name: Rpc/HTTP NSPI Port
    Value type: REG_DWORD
    Value data: 0x1774 (Decimal 6004)
    D. Check if the RPC ports are used by other applications instead of Exchange by using : netstat –o
     Then it will return all active TCP connections and the process ID (PID) for each connection.

    I've just restored the M11 to Windows XP with the disks provided and Outlook Anywhere connected without issue. As strange as it sounds, this looks to be isolated to this particular model of laptop and Windows 7.
    I've used the same Enterprise copy of Windows 7 and Office on a variety of laptops and pc's and none have come across this problem. The only commonality I can see is the hardware and OS.
    Aftery trying to troubleshoot this unsuccessfully with Microsoft tech support for a few hours, they eluded to the fact that this +could+ be a hardware related problem. (driver, adapter properties, etc)

  • Connection Issues Fixed, however still extremely s...

    Hi there, I am a new customer to BT broadband and following our installation of a new line and up to 8Mb broadband on the 23rd of November i had major issues with the service. A few hours after the engineer left my house, problems started to arise.
    Firstly the broadband would cut out consistantly every 5 minutes or so, thus leaving me completely incapable of accessing the internet and completeing work, furthermore after frequent speed tests on the line we were getting slower than dial up speeds. When checking the dial tone on our phone, i noticed that it was a noisy line, and thankfully an engineer visited us this morning and resolved the problem of the noisy line. This in turn has so far resolved the connection issues, and there has been around 3 hours of uninterupted broadband. However my speedtests still show that the broadband is being extremely slow, and this is not what i would expect of an up to 8mb line.
    I would greatly appreciate any input on the matter. For the record i have not been resetting the router, maybe this is a stuck profile issue due to the previously faulty line?

  • TopLink Proxy authentication issue

    Hello all,
    I tried to use proxy authentication for TopLink for connecting to a database via TopLink in a J2EE application deployed on an Oracle iAS 10.1.2. For doing that, I tried to follow the steps described in the TopLink documentation (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/doc/1013/main/_html/dblgcfg008.htm#BABDABCF) with the last scenario, "Server Session uses Proxy Connection".
    According to the previously mentioned documentation, I created a session event handler for the preLoginEvent session event, the preLogin(SessionEvent event) method that I copied below.
    The issue with this is that, when I try to run a TopLink query in a Java DAO class, I obtained some exceptions. There are two cases here:
    1-If the code preLogin(SessionEvent event) is exactly as below, it seems that the queried views/tables cannot be seen. The exception obtained is:
    Exception [TOPLINK-4002] (Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.0.0) (Build 060118)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException
    Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    Error Code: 942

    2 - If in the preLogin(SessionEvent event) code, the line login.setProperty("proxytype", Integer.toString(OracleConnection.PROXYTYPE_USER_NAME)); is uncommented, then another exception is obtained. In this case another exception is obtained: an Invalid User/Password exception is thrown. If I comment this line, the login is successfull, but I obtain the exception at section 1.
    I have to tell you in both cases the parameters of the Data source are properly set. I tested the datasource in another servlet where I created directly the connection based on the same datasource taken from the application server's JNDI.
    Do you have any hint or idea about this issue?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Regards,
    Marinel
    public void preLogin(SessionEvent event)
    DatabaseLogin login = event.getSession().getLogin();
    // Make sure that external connection pooling is used
    login.setUsesExternalConnectionPooling(true);
    // Custom code to get the connector
    try
    login.setConnector(new OracleJDBC10_1_0_2ProxyConnector("jdbc/acs_proxyDS"));
    } catch (Exception ex)
    ex.printStackTrace();
    // End of custom code to get connector
    // login.setProperty("proxytype", Integer.toString(OracleConnection.PROXYTYPE_USER_NAME));
    login.setProperty(OracleConnection.PROXY_USER_NAME, "[email protected]");
    login.setProperty(OracleConnection.PROXY_DISTINGUISHED_NAME, "cn=my_name,l=emea,dc=oracle,dc=com");
    String[] roles = new String[1];
    roles[0] = "Manager";
    login.setProperty(OracleConnection.PROXY_ROLES, roles);
    }

    Hi, I am also working on proxy authentication and am having the same problem as Marinel.
    If I use a normal jdbc proxy connection, I can access the table just fine, and using a direct Toplink connection works fine.However, when i try and use proxy authentication via Toplink, i do not have permissions on the table.
    From your last update,it seems that if I want to use DISTINGUISED NAME authentication, I should set "proxytype" to OracleConnection.PROXYTYPE_DISTINGUISHED_NAME, and set OracleConnection.PROXY_DISTINGUISHED_NAME to the full user distinguised name.
    I have temporarily altered my preLogin Event as below to show these two scenarios, to access the table via normal jdbc proxy connection (and this part works), and then below that I try and set up the Toplink proxy session(which fails).
    public void preLogin(SessionEvent event) {
    DatabaseLogin login = event.getSession().getLogin();
    // Make sure that external connection pooling is used
    login.setUsesExternalConnectionPooling(true);
    String urlThin =
    "<jdbc_url>";
    OracleDataSource ds;
    OracleConnection oc = null;
    try {
    // Part 1 - Setup and access the PROXYDUMMY1 table using jdbc proxy sessions
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    ds = new OracleDataSource();
    ds.setURL(urlThin);
    Properties props = new java.util.Properties();
    props.put(OracleConnection.PROXY_DISTINGUISHED_NAME,
    "cn=firstname_lastname,l=emea,dc=oracle,dc=com"); props.put("proxytype",OracleConnection.PROXYTYPE_DISTINGUISHED_NAME);
    ds.setUser("database_account");
    ds.setPassword("database_password");
    oc = (OracleConnection)ds.getConnection();
    oc.openProxySession (OracleConnection.PROXYTYPE_DISTINGUISHED_NAME, props);
    String sql= " SELECT COL1, COL2 FROM PROXYDUMMY1";
    Statement stmt = oc.createStatement();
    ResultSet rSet = stmt.executeQuery(sql);
    System.out.println("==============User requested data=================");
    while ( rSet.next() )
    System.out.println(rSet.getString(1));
    rSet.close();
    stmt.close();
    //Part 2 - set up the proxy session for use by Toplink
    login.setConnector(new OracleJDBC10_1_0_2ProxyConnector(ds));
    login.setProperties(props);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Exception: ProxyConnection.getConnection: "+e.getMessage());
    e.printStackTrace();
    }

  • TSeries LAN connection issues across fibre link

    I have some LAN connection issues when getting dhcp or even assigning static  ip to T61 laptop.  Doesn't get dhcp ip settings dynamic and if given staitc, can't ping any system on network nor can systems ping it.  DHCP is at main site and this laptop is at remote site. Link between sites is fibre.  All other systems at remote site where is laptop get their DHCP settings as normal.  If I bring laptop from remote site to main site and plug in cable it gets DHCP normal but not at remote site, it doesnt get it, so i know the LAN adapter is good.  What is wrong?, what across WAN link it preventing it? seeing that all other systems at remote site get their settings well.  Thanks in advance.

    I was able to resolve the problem. "The following CLI commands have been added to allow devices that do not understand the controller's proxy Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) response without a minimum packet size of 60 bytes to communicate with the controller: show advanced dot11-padding, config advanced dot11-padding enable"
