Urgent..Audio-Video Conferencing

I am new to this topic.
I wanted to know that is it possible to do audio or video conferencing using java Technology.
If yes, can you provide me some links to resources doing that.?

Is the server monitoring the clients and how..??..what function is it performing while establishing the link between the two clients...??

Pc-to-pc audio/video conferencing

I've been looking into the ability of a direct (secure) connection from one Linux machine to another for the purposes of audio/video conferencing. I know there's stull like ekiga but that requires an account and a third party server. I'm looking for a solution that would be completely maintained between the two or three linux machines directly (webcam/mic). What's out there that I'm not seeing in google?

Also interested, been meaning to move away from Skype for a time now. I've looked/asked around and found opensips. You'll still need a client to manage calls though, I'll probably try out Twinkle. I'm going to spend some time trying to set it up myself. Hope it helps.

Video Conferencing Portlet

Hi,
in my researcfh group we're thinking about implementing an audio/video conferencing portlet. I googled a bit, so I guess the JMF is pretty much what I need. Does anybody know if something similar has already been implemented, or if it's feasible at all? I think the fact that the portlet runs on the server, and not on the user's machine like applets makes the whole thing even more complicated.
Any help / ideas /suggestions are very much appreciated!

Can multiple sessions of Facetime be opened on the same device to mimic a conference call? Or can I open a session on my phone and session on my computer under the same username and mimic a cnoference call that way? Cheers

Video Conferencing using java

hi,
i am developing video conferencing project using JMF.
and using AVReceive2 and AVTransmit2.
i am able to send and receive audio and video between two pc's where one transmits and one receives.
but how to use AVReceive2 and AVTransmit2 for more than two pc's when any one doesnot have information that other user is transmitting.
What i mean is that when one user wants to connect to another user then how can second (receiver) know that someone is sending him data.
Basically when to run the AVReceive2 program on second PC..

Out of the box, 1024-65535 for all of the client ports. :)

You'll want to tune your client ports a bit
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx as seen here, and then the client ports would use those ranges which is easier to set QoS markings. I'm not sure the mobile clients respect that setting.

However, the marking of the packets is the tricky part. Windows can do it via Group Policy, but for the other clients you'll need to have the network specifically prioritize ports regardless of DSCP markings. You have to do it based on ports
as the traffic could be peer to peer.

dear NUT please send me the code for this video conferencing over lan with the multicast feature--i am in a great need of it urgently. The code you have already posted is having a great problem that Transmitter class contains the code for receiver class while the Receiver Class already contains the same code.
Moreover the video we transmit, we also want to see over our own machine plesae send some suggestion regarding this thing--means we want to see two videos at a time one is our own and other is the streamed one.

i am planning to devlop a n-user video+audio conference in LAN. what i plan is having a server,and all user logged in will send stream to server and recieve stream from server.Is this approach can be done and more importantly is this the way it should be done? i mean is there any better way around ?

HT4534 Mac Mini HD Video Conferencing

I am considering purchase of a mac-mini for video conferencing. This article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4534?viewlocale=en_US) refers to "built in camera". Of course, the mac-mini has no built in camera. I would be using my HDTV for a monitor. Can I use the Logitech c910 & the mini for HD Facetime?

I also have a mac mini and am using the Logitech C920. At the beggining, I had issues with its built in mics not working with FaceTime, but I found a solution for the problem and now all the programs that interface with the camera work great (FT, Skype, iMovie, etc). If you do buy the C920 run into the same issue that I had with the mic not working, here is the quick solution for the problem:
Cause of Problem: The Logitech C920 camera/mic operates on a 2ch-16bit integer. You can verify this by opening "finder + Utilities + Audio MIDI Setup" and then select the HD Pro Webcam C920 and look at the "Input" Default values.
The Mac Mini's "Built-In Output" and "Buiilt-In Input" formats were set for 2ch-24 bit integer. Therefore, the default input and output were out of sync with the C920 default format.
Solution: Change the Mac Mini's default Output to "2ch-16 bit integer". You don't need to change the default Input but it doesn't hurt to do so. Once you do this, the camera and it's built in mics work on facetime and all other video chat applications.

Video Conferencing with IOS Homogeneous Video Conference Bridge

I have CUCM 8.6 and 3945 Cisco router with 2 x PVDM-256
I configured the IOS Homogeneous Video Conference Bridge. and I did the required configurations in the router. and I can see the conferencing bridge is registered.
I put the conference bridge in the existing MRG and MRGL. But I am not able to do video conferencing. I can get only the audio.
is there any thing missing ? any reolad should I do ?

Sure.
So on the gateway that you have the video conference configured, in which we have guranteed voice as the configuration, you will also add in an MTP profile. The MTP profile will be configured as software and have the appropriate codec configured that you may be using because of your regions. We have g722-64 and passthrough on one because we saw the E20's requesting MTP resources from the logs.
We also have additional MTP profiles configured for other codecs to include G729r8, etc.
Register the codecs to CUCM.
It depends on what you are trying to accomplish but we were shooting for w448p thus made sure that the "Region" for the device pool associated with the Media Resource Group for each MTP was set to 1MB for the video bandwidth.
I hope this makes since if not I will try to pull down a config for you

I am working on a interactive application whereby i can communicate with my peer for the purpose of elearning. Some of the functions i need to do is to interface video conferencing, live chat, live application sharing. All this to be real time.

I don�t know about the video stuff, but I think that it is possible to use an applet for the chat, and filesharing.

a flash media server...although not sure.
Managed to get my cam image working fairly easily and
embedded in the application window which is the main thing though.
Not totally sure how you would go about getting the other person's
camera to appear on the same screen though...if you find out I
would love to know.

As Triton got to it's current version as a Beta and then without any apparent changes become the item on the AIM latest page link http://www.aim.com/getaim/win/latestwin.adp I would presume it is not a fully functional item yet.
Particularly as AIM 5.9 is still available here http://www.aim.com/getaim/win/otherwin.adp?aolp=
As it is market driven hopefully it will catch up with AIM 5.9 on the connectivity front and lose or at least gain the ability to block unwanted ads.
I think we have a while to go with this one before suggesting people swap to Triton.
