Hi,
I have not set it up as a window service but can try to help. for one thing, this step is not permanent and if it does not work then you can undo this step by re-editting the script to remove the line you added. This step has you change the bea startup script for that domain to call the agent script setAgentEnv_AdminServer(it ws copied into bea domain directory during installation of agent) which just sets some agent resources in the classpath. If you start bea and those things are not in the classpath etc then agent wont work. So no permanent damage, you can change it if it doesnt work.
I suggest you try it out and start the bea server as a service and see if it works - if not try again.
I am not sure what the windows service would use to start the app server, but somehow it must specify some environment properties and things in its classpath, so if this script doesnt work then you can just do the things in the setAgentEnv_AdminServer script like setting those things in classpath.
Please let us know if it works and if any extra steps required? Would be helpful to others to know how to configure as a windows service.
hth,
Sean

Tacacs authentication fails for one user account for only one switch
Hi,
I am having an scenario, where as Tacacs authentication fails for one user account for only one switch.
The same user account works well for other devices.
The AAA configs are same on every devices in the network.
Heres the show tacacs output from the switch where only one user account fails;
Socket opens: 157
Socket closes: 156
Socket aborts: 303
Socket errors: 1
Socket Timeouts: 2
Failed Connect Attempts: 0
Total Packets Sent: 1703
Total Packets Recv: 1243
Expected Replies: 0
What could be the reason ?
No errors on ACS server; same rights had been given to the user account.
Thanks to advise.
PraseyHi there,
Does the user get authenticated in the ACS logs?
reports and activity----> failed attempts
ro
reports and activity-----> passed authentications
That will help narrow it down.

MadhaviHi,
Make sure that the directory server is installed first. If it is running
ok, then you can try adding an admin user, please check the following
technote.

NoMachine(freenx) Authentication failed for user (MYUSERNAME)
Hi all,
I have quite a few experience with freenx on other linux distributions, but this is my first time setting up freenx on archlinux. After following the instructions in the wiki, authentication keeps failing no matter what I do.
Stuff I've done from the wiki:
1. install freenx
2. add RSAAuthentication yes AllowUsers someuser nx to sshd_config
3. add md5sum to node.conf
4. pacman -S xdialog xterm
5. run "/usr/bin/nxsetup --install --setup-nomachine-key"
6. modify /etc/nxserver/node.conf so that "USER_X_STARTUP_SCRIPT=.xinitrc"
7. pick the right configurations when connecting to my server
I have "exec startxfce4" in .xinitrc.
It always goes up to "Waiting for authentication" and then "Authentication failed for user (MYUSERNAME)" pops up. I think it should not be a XFCE issue since authentication itself didn't even pass. I assume if it is a X window problem, what I would get is something like a blank screen.
I'm using public key, so I didn't really copy anything from the server to my client.
I couldn't think of a second reason why this wouldn't work. Is there any thing obvious that I missed? (If so, please move this thread to the newbie corner. lol)
Any thoughts would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Essbase Error 1051440 - Authentication fails for user admin
We are facing a very unique problem...
The application is up & running.. even I can login into the application, can perform member addition, editing & mamage database from planning.... but I get this error while retreiving from excel addin or running scripts.
What I analysed is that this problem is Actually coming when a particular set of members are called anywhere either in scripts or during retreival thru Addin.
Recently we had added one dimension in one of the database of our application. After that that this problem started.
There were fewer Xref functions used to pull data from other cubes.... The problem is cominng with only those set of members where this Xref function has been used.
Even I had changed the formulas & incorporated member of new dimension in the formulas to point to target members....
Can you guys ever had faced such kind of issue....
Please help in resolving....
Complete Error is: msg fromremote site[date n time] Local////Error(1051440) Essbase user[admin] Authentication fails against shared services serverwith Error[30:1005:Authentication failed for user admin. Enter valid credentials.]]Hi,
are you sure that user "admin" has all necessary rights to run your scripts? I have to ask because we sometimes had problems with our admin user... There is an "native essbase server admin" and the admin user in shared services.
We dont had any idea how this could happen but sometimes our admin user changed to the mentioned "native essbase server admin" - you can see it if you are connected as "admin (internal)".
If you are logged in as "admin (internal)" you have to "externalize" this user.
Hope this helps and my bad english is not so much confusing... :-)
Kind regards

Authentication failed for realm level_15
hi,
I'm trying to configure HTTP server to authenticate users with AAA platform. I get the following error while trying to connect with Cisco Configuration Pro:

aaa authorization commands 15 default group TACACS_group if-authenticated

group TACACS_groupHi,
Yes, local authentication does work.
I added below the HTTP configuration:
ip http server
ip http authentication aaa login-authentication default
no ip http secure-server
I thought that HTTP would use the default method list for authentication. Is that possible or should I define a seperate AAA method list?
By the way, I always rate helpful posts -
When i was run my web application in everyday morning(after that issue was not reproduced), it was immediatly redirected to logout page
while i perform any task after login.Session_end function was called unfortunately.

Custom Authentication Issue with Policy Agent
Hi,
I have a custom authentication module which is hosted on the BEA application server and I am trying to access through the policy agent on apache.
I have set the following property in AMAgent.properties file
com.sun.am.policy.am.loginURL= http://host:port/amserver/UI/Login
So When the user requests a protected resource, the policy agent forwards the user to Identity Server with the module as CustomLoginModule. However, after this, authentication is succeed, user sesion is being created and I get the following error message in the agent log file.
2004-10-19 16:20:26.908 Error 27620:e1140 PolicyEngine: am_policy_evaluate: InternalException in Service::construct_auth_svc with error message:Application authentication failed during service creation. and code:3

2004-10-19 16:20:26.909 -1 27620:e1140 PolicyAgent: URL Access Agent: access denied to unknown user
The necessary policy object is already created in Identity Server. Please send your suggestions to fix this problem.
Thanks
NeerajHi Neeraj,
I still have not been able to resolve that issue. Let me know If you find a solution for the same.

Error when deploying JDBC file data source for J2EE agent in weblogic
Hi ODI experts!
we're using ODI 11g and we've installed J2EE agents on weblogic. We need to configure a connection pool within weblogic for a file data source. Thus, we've added snpsFile.jar (that was shipped with ODI 10g...) to the weblogic config so that we can configure a JDBC connection to file.
As we validate the config, an error occurs (see below):
Obviously, driver is found but cannot be deployed.

Fredd.Hi!
Some information: I found this website [http://gerardnico.com/doc/odi/webhelp/en/refmanual/connexion/jdbcdriversample.htm] explaining that the 'old' snpsFile.jar driver was deprecated and that a new one was existing... but I can't find it anywhere!
My questions are:
- Can the problem (original problem. See initial post) be due to driver version?
- Does someone know where to find this 'new' driver?
Thanks for your help.
Fredd.

Cisco ISE authentication failed for Win XP SP3
Hello,
I have some trouble this Win XP wired Client authentication. With Win7 everything works well.
ISE 1.2 (patch 4)
Switch: 2960 / 2960S (15.0.(2)SE2)
Authentication details:
Event:
5400 Authentication failed:
Failure Reason
11514 Unexpectedly received empty TLS message; treating as a rejection by the client
Resolution
Ensure that the client's supplicant does not have any known compatibility issues and that it is properly configured. Also ensure that the ISE server certificate is trusted by the client, by configuring the supplicant with the CA certificate that signed the ISE server certificate. It is strongly recommended to not disable the server certificate validation on the client!
Root cause While trying to negotiate a TLS handshake with the client, ISE expected to receive a non-empty TLS message or TLS alert message, but instead received an empty TLS message. This could be due to an inconformity in the implementation of the protocol between ISE and the supplicant. For example, it is a known issue that the XP supplicant sends an empty TLS message instead of a non-empty TLS alert message. It might also involve the supplicant not trusting the ISE server certificate for some reason. ISE treated the unexpected message as a sign that the client rejected the tunnel establishment.
I try to disable validate server certificates on Win XP Clients, but it won´t work for me.
Add ISE self-sign certificate to clients trusted root certification authorities and enable validate server certificates also won´t work.
Any idea?
thanksThe ISE use a self-signed certificate. I add this self-signed certificate to the clients "trusted root certification authorities", enable validate server certificates at the eap properties and select the added certificate from the trust list. But if I uncheck validate server certificates, I see the same error message as well.
Are there any differences between xp client config and win7 client config?
thanks, -

ISE 1.2 Authentication fails for 2nd AD domain with the forest trust relation
We are running cisco ISE 1.2, we have new AD domain with forest trust relation between both the new and the old. authentication to with the new domain fails.
Is there any requirements or configurations change needs to be done to make it success?Use the license that is currently on your ISE. If your account has access to download the software, then you are good. The license will not change during the upgrade. If you are using ISE 1.2 Patch 8 or above, then you are using the same Base/Plus?Apex Licensing model.
If you are not yet on Patch 8, the you are using Base/Advanced and these will be converted during the upgrade.

Urgent- Login disabled for NAC Agent
Hi All,
Not able to Login NAC Agent after downloading and installing in windows XP machine.
Please find the attached Logs collected through cisco log packager.
Please help us in trouble shooting this issue.
An early response is apprciable.
Note:
Thanks,
AbuzarHi Abuzar,
Is this a L2 or L3 setup?
Is the CAS in VGW or Real-IP mode?
On the NAC Agent logs I see that the client tries first TCP/8905 discovery to 10.0.0.1 (default GW) and 192.168.1.10 (Discovery Host), then UDP discovery both in L2 to address 10.0.0.1 (on port 8905) and in L3 to the address 192.168.1.10 (on port 906), but none of these discovery methods returned a response from the CAS.
Make sure that the discovery traffic hits the CAS, and then that the SSL certificate installed on the CAS points correctly to the IP address of the CAS (the service IP if you're in HA mode).
In L2, the discovery should succeed with the attempt to contact the default gateway, as the CAS is either going to be the default gateway itself (in case of L2/Real-IP) or it's going to intercept this traffic (in L2/VGW).
If you're in L3 (meaning that you have at least 1 hop between the client machine and the CAS) make sure that L3 support is enabled on the CAS and that the traffic to the discovery host crosses or hits the CAS (the discovery host may be the CAS itself or a host on the trusted side of the network..); in this case you will need to configure policy based routing accordingly.
I hope this helps.

Federico
