Urgent: Bookmarks not syncing in Android

Hi There,
Previously it was working fine with Firefox Sync (deprecated). But after reinstalling the firefox on android (Samsung Galaxy Note 3) its not synching the bookmarks, neither with the Firefox Sync (deprecated) nor the newer version.
I’ve over 6k bookmark in folder structure on my pc and earlier it was syncing fine on the phone. But now nothing syncing the bookmarks. History, password all are syncing fine.
Please make sure I’ve tried 10 times (5each) with both new and older syncing method. Uninstall reinstall FF android app, clear app data etc. My goal is to sync the bookmarks wither with new ver firefox or the older version. When the newer sync method doesn’t work with both pc and phone updated FF I installed 28ver FF in pc and then did the Firefox Sync (deprecated) way, but that too failed. Now doing it over the new sync but even after many days nothing came into the phone. I’m really frustrated and thinking to move to Chrome as nothing no longer helping.
This is my last try. The history syncing to pc and phone work fine, but no mobile bookmark folder in PC even after adding new bookmark in phone. Clearly its not syncing Bookmarks in both ways. But the phone app showing over 9MB data additional data the app has, so surely it got the Bookmarks but not displaying in the app. Probably it’s a bug.
Also note I real all related articles but nothing helped.
Please advice.

Thanks, I really appreciate your time and feedback and hopefully this could fix the issue. But I don’t have so much time to do these all. If it was a quick fix then definitely I would do.
Let Firefox tech team do these and hopefully they would fix this bug. As before doing this I formatted my phone with complete wipeout data so its definitely a bug.
But if I get time I will try this.

  • Safari bookmarks not syncing in iOS 8.0.2

Safari bookmarks stopped syncing at least since 8.0.2 (not sure if it already broke in 8.0.1).
    I have this configuration
    iPhone4,1 (4S)
    iOS 8.0.2
    OS X 10.9.5
    iTunes 11.4 (18)
I read that to sync bookmarks you need 10.8 or earlier, but that doesn’t make any sense to me, I won’t use iCloud for that.

I restored my iPhone to no avail. Any ideas?

I recently upgraded Mountain Lion to Mavericks. Until now it's been disappointing. I read about these so-called syncing features too late.

  • Internet Explorer 11 bookmarks not syncing with Ipad/Iphone

Hello. I have an Iphone 5 along with an Ipad Mini. Both are updated to the current IOS 7.1.1. I am using Internet Explorer 11 on my Toshiba Laptop for syncing booksmarks and such through Icloud to my devices.
I am having an issue with the bookmarks on my Toshiba laptop syncing with my Ipad and Iphone. Both my Ipad and Iphone book marks sync together in perfect unison, but my Internet Explorer bookmarks do not sync.
    What I have tried:
    Shut down/Restart all devices
Turn off safari in Icloud for Ipad/Iphone
Restarted internet application on all devices
Unchecked, then rechecked the box for syncing bookmarks in Icloud
Deleted synced bookmarks on Ipad/Iphone, then re-added them through Icloud
Once I delete the synced bookmarks, the bookmark tab on the Iphone/Ipad are empty, but once I sync them back up, the old bookmarks come through.
    My main goal:
I want my Toshiba laptop bookmarks to be the exact same as my Iphone/Ipad bookmarks. I want my Ipad to be the center of attention essentially, followed by the Toshiba laptop and the Iphone, meaning I want the Ipad to be the base for all the bookmarks, then the Iphone and Toshiba laptop can follow suit and take the bookmarks from the Ipad and transfer them to the laptop and Iphone. Currently, I have many of the same bookmarks on both the Toshiba Laptop along with my Iphone/Ipad, but the more recent add`s/deleted on either Iphone/Ipad or Toshiba laptop are not syncing.
    Any help is appreciated.

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Bookmarks not syncing on Ios devices

I have iCloud.  Syncing seems to work fine between my mac, my ipad and my iphone for addresses and calendar (thank god) but for some reason, my bookmarks do not make it over.  If I go into icloud on the ios devices (ipad, iphone) and turn bookmark sync off, they disapear and they reappear when i turn it back on, yet the latest bookmarks or changes to bookmarks do not go onto the ios devices. it seems that only an old set of bookmarks is syncing.
    any idea?
    thanks for your help.

  • IPhone Bookmark not syncing, never have.

So I have a new 8GB iPhone 3G, but previously had a 4GB iPhone 1.0. My bookmarks have pretty much NEVER synced. Short of the typical things (reset sync data, unregister computer, etc.) is there a magic file I can delete out of the library to reset this? It worked for my contacts not syncing so I was hoping there was an answer for the bookmarks too.
It's not a big deal but it would be nice!

I thought this was happening with me too. However, then I noticed when I click the bookmarks icon in the bar in Safari, on the left hand side my iphone bookmarks appeared in the folder i had created. I just didn't have those bookmarks actually in the menu of safari on my mac. Maybe you already knew this...

  • Bookmarks not syncing on iPad after iOS 4.3 update

I have the following problem since the iOS 4.3 update on 2 iPads and 1 iPhone 3GS. (no problem on iPhones 4)
If I attach device to iTunes and start syncing, everything seems synced except the bookmarks. I get either messages:
'iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPad "name" because an error occured while merging data.'

If I do a second sync - without stopping iTunes - the bookmarks are synced.
Any idea how to solve this ?

I have the same problem, but it was after buying a new Mac and setting up syncs.  The bookmarks from the iPad disappeared and were not syncing through MobileMe, although it is working on my iPhone 4, so I turned of the MM sync and tried iTunes.  After trying just about everything suggested in this thread (hard boot, clearing caches etc, shutting off all multi-tasking, getting rid of the Mozilla app, and so on) when I sync with iTunes I still get the message: "iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPad xxxx because the bookmarks are in use by the iPad."
How does one shut down whatever is using the bookmarks?

  • Safari bookmarks not syncing to Mac via iCloud - Syncing works between iPhone and iPad.

My iPhone and iPad both have the Safari iCloud option set to 'ON' in my devices settings. My bookmarks sync between my iPad and iPhone correctly but bookmarks do not synce between my Mac and my two devices.
In iTunes, when I have either my iPad or iPhone connected it says: 'Your bookmarks are being synced over the air from iCloud.'
What setting am I missing to get my bookmarks to sync properly from and too my Mac?

Go to the Apple menu >> system preferences >> icloud.  Make sure you're logged in with the same apple ID as you are on the other two devices.  If you're already signed in, you can click on Account details to verify that.
Then, make sure you have safari checked off in the icloud preferences.  If you already do, uncheck them for a minute or so.  Then recheck them.
    See if that helps.

  • SWR10 Not Syncing with Android Lollipop (5.0.1) on Nexus 6

    I got my SWR10 3 days ago.
At first it was synced up to my Nexus 7 (2013) tablet (Also running Android 5.0.1) where it worked fine and tracked every correctly. Sleep was tracked correctly to the next day.
The next day I left the tablet at home as I went to go buy my Nexus 6. Connected the smartband to the Nexus 6 and none of the offline data synced. I put this down to me changing devices and decided to see how it faired today.
Today however, it did not track my sleep overnight. It has not tracked any steps all day. But the smartband is connected to the phone and does work as i've been using it for the media remote mode throughout the day. The phone hasn't been out of range of the smartband either as it's been in my pocket all day.
I have a suscpicion that this might be caused by a compatability issue with LifeLog and Android 5.0.1 as every time I open it up I get an error message saying the app had crashed and gives me the option to report the crash. I've left a screenshot of the bug report below.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I've figured the solution out myself... Well a workaround at least for the time being. It seems the component of the app that's crashing is the logger.
It appears this needs to be running to sync the data from the smartband and whenever you open the app this component crashes and toggles itself off in the settings.
Toggle it back on and press the home key to leave the application without returning to the timeline view and it should stay running in the background.
All the data it hadn't synced reappeared so the smartband must have kept the data.
This seems to be a workaround whilst Sony fix whatever the issue is.

  • Pc Safari bookmarks not syncing with icloud

    HI
I installed the icloud utility on my Windows Vista PC and ticked the box to sync only the bookmarks.
However when I add bookmarks to my MacBook it doesnt update the PC version.
    My ipad and iphone updates.
    Help please

I've got an iPhone 4, MacBook running Snow Leopard, previously had MobileMe, ever since iCloud has come around
You must upgrade Lion v10.7.2 in order to enable iCloud so that's not the issue with the bookmarks since you are running Snow Leopard.
Open System Preferences > MobileMe then select the Sync tab and make sure Bookmarks is selected.
Now select the Advanced tab then click Reset Sync Data.

  • Bookmarks not syncing icloud osx 10.7.5

I have a macbook pro (os x 10.7.5), ipad(ios 5.0.1) & iphone 4s (ios 6.0.1). All three use the same icloud account to sync stuff.
Many a times, my macbook stops syncing bookmarks and reading lists in safari. When I add a bookmark say from my ipad, it shows up on my iphone but not on the mac. Similarly, adding a bookmark/reading-list item has no impact on the ipad and iphone.
I have gone through many links on the internet and have tried the following two procedures:
    1. Turned off bookmark sync from (icloud) system preferences and then removed all the local bookmarks(the .plist files etc) and then turned it back on after rebooting.
    2. Simply turn off and then on (after a while of course) bookmark sync in system preferences.
Both the procedures seem to work at that time but only for a short time. After that, the problem again sets back in and bookmarks don't sync from my mac.
Anybody has a permanent fix for this?
And, is this the problem with OS X Lion or Safari?

iPhoto 11 is a paid upgrade from iPhoto 08. Buy it from the Mac App Store.

  • Bookmarks not sync-ed

I have a desktop and a laptop, and I set up so the iCloud would sync bookmarks across the board. However, when I added a bookmark on my laptop the desktop doesn't get it, I wonder what could be wrong.

    Roger Wilmut1 wrote:
MobileMe sync was a completely different system - it was actual syncing where the data was copied from each device to the server then back down to other devices. iCloud syncing isn't really syncing in that sense: the data lives on the server and devices read it from there. Whatever the reasons for the odd behavious you've been seeing the MobileMe-type methods of dealing with it aren't relevant.
I respectfully disagree with your base assumption there.  I have an actual bookmarks file on disk, here on my Mac... the bookmarks are still being read from there, not streamed down to Safari from the cloud.  The two aren't THAT dissimilar.
The difference is, in the Bookmarks.plist file, it now lists both the actual bookmark, and a link to [email protected] to the "cloud" version of that same link.  Go to Library/Safari and "more" the file (or open it in a binary-friendly editor like emacs) and you can see the data itself.
The base problem is the same in both cases though, the Bookmarks.plist file on disk isn't being updated to reflect a new bookmark that's been added to the central server.  It used to happen on occasion with MobileMe, but was easier to fix when you encountered it... now, you have to log entirely out of iCloud (and go through the "are you sure you want to do this, I'll delete lots of stuff" dialogs before it actually does it), then sit through it re-syncing EVERYTHING when you log back in.
And, as I said in my previous message, that just re-syncs them for that moment, it breaks immediately if I add another bookmark on one of the devices that IS working correctly.
If the system can't be relied on, then we need a simple method to kick it to rebuild/sync that Bookmarks.plist file.

  • Bookmarks not syncing

New Bookmarks I create on my iMac are not showing up on my MacbooK Air.  I have Safari checked in iCloud in Apple Preferences on both machines.

i am having the same problem but between my iphone and my macbook pro. initially, my Safari on my macbook pro was syncing perfectly through sept. 2013. ever since then, nothing, including my history and bookmarks, from safari on my mac will sync anymore with the safari first on my iphone 4s and now my iphons 5s. i've already turned off the syncing options on both devices, turned them back on and restarted both devices, as per the suggestions from another post. STILL NOTHING. And with the update to the iOS on iphone as a few months ago, there is no longer the option to turn on and off the safari book sync options under settings on the iPhone or on iTunes.

  • ICloud, Safari bookmarks not syncing with iphone

I've got an iPhone 4, MacBook running Snow Leopard, previously had MobileMe, ever since iCloud has come around my iPhone has stopped syncing the bookmarks with my Mac. Hugely annoying..
Anybody know how to fix this?

I've got an iPhone 4, MacBook running Snow Leopard, previously had MobileMe, ever since iCloud has come around
You must upgrade Lion v10.7.2 in order to enable iCloud so that's not the issue with the bookmarks since you are running Snow Leopard.
Open System Preferences > MobileMe then select the Sync tab and make sure Bookmarks is selected.
Now select the Advanced tab then click Reset Sync Data.
