URGENT - Brand New WRT610N Fails Upgrade! What is going on?

I have a brand new WRT610N router. Unfortunately it is hardware version 1.0 and firmware 1.00.02 B10. I almost returned it to get a later version of the hardware and firmware but decided to give upgrading the firmware a chance. Unfortunately the upgrade to the latest firmware fails about 30% the way through the upgrade. The firmware I am trying to upgrade to is the latest download off the Linksys website. FW_WRT610N_V1_V2_2.00.00.05_20090710_code.bin
I would prefer to get the latest firmware installed. BTW, reseting the router does NOT fix this problem. Reading through the forums is like trying to piece together a solution. There seems to be no single way or concise fix to this. In fact, many of the fixes seem to be "email me offline and I will send you a correct firmware".

I have exactly the same problem, I bought my router yesterday (here in Aus) and it came with an old version of Firmware and had many drop outs, wired and wireless. I have tried to upgrade to the latest firmware from linksys website and no joy. I spent an hour with tech support and still no joy. They have advised the unit is stuffed and take it back for another unit. But I don't believe it is, I think it's the firmware that's corrupt. I have searched the internet and it seems there is no fix for this. Some guys reckon to have a firmware that works but the link to it to download it is down. I can't get it anyway. Seems like we are stuffed. I think the more people who ring linksys and tell them the upgrade doesn't work the better chance we have of linksys realising there is a problem and fixing it.

Try it again.....my download took about 15 minutes. The entire install was probably about an hour.
Some have suggested to update using iTunes as a better alternative to over the air.

Brand new iPad fails sync due to "computer no longer authorized"

Hello all,
I have a brand new iPad 64GB that I can't sync to my existing iTunes library. Every time I try, I get an error that says, "The iPad could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPad." In iTunes, I go to Store > Authorize This Computer, and that dialog says that my computer is already authorized. Then I try to sync again and end up with the "no longer authorized" error again.
So what is in the default load of a new iPad that iTunes doesn't think I've paid for?
The same iTunes (for Windows, version 11.1.5.5) has no trouble syncing my iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and several Shuffles. So why is it barfing on the iPad?
Any advice greatly appreciated,

I already tried 4 times backkups from the CSM 4.2 system to restore to the new CSM 4.3 patch 1 but all restores failed with :
uncommitted data
I read the install.guide about pending jobs and I think there are no pending jobs at the Backup
Can it be that I have to deinstall RME and MCP before I make a backup from the CSM 4.2 system to avoid the error : uncommitted data ?

restore to CSM 4.3 works if I did the backup from the 4.2 system DB via CMD , If I backup the 4.2 system via the CSM GUI it did not work .

Bought brand new ipad 2, upgrading firmware and error 3194

I just got a brand new ipad 2 32gb wifi only. I want to upgrade firmware and i get error 3194. I tried changing host file and other things like that. I am really sick of this problem please help me if you can.

In attempt to burn blu-ray, I get QuickTime error 0. Takes hours to export a 7 minute movie from timeline, then get notice it fails. What's going on here?

New problem just started 24 hours ago. When I try to export from the time line to create a QuickTime file, a 7 minute movie on time line takes 3 hours to export and then the export fails, where as a few days ago, that export would take about 10 minutes at most. I get the same failure notice when I try to share to blu-ray, DVD, or Vimeo. Tried to use compressor, no such luck as compressor failed to make a .mov file. I get QuickTime error 0 message about 5 minutes into trying to share to Blu-Ray now. Does anyone know what is going on here? I'm running latest update of Snow Leopard on an intel Mac Pro and the latest update to Final Cut Pro X. I've also installed QT 7.6.6 to use in creating time lapse movie files.

Same problem here, too. Final Cut Pro X 10.0.3 on OS 10.6.8. However, it is only doing it on ONE of my projects. A 4-second test project burned successfully.
I'm actually going to use iDVD to burn copies for a few people, so I only need the movie file from FCPX.
Would someone please post best export settings for use on a DVD? In FCPX, the project is in HD (1080p) with all media optimized to ProRes 442. I know it will have to be down-sampled to DVD resolution, but I've always been curious to know what settings will result produce the best possible quality in DVD resolution.

Brand new battery in 4s and still goes dead in 1 hour!?

Tried all the suggestions on the support site, took the phone to the Apple store, they put in a new battery. I charged it to 100% and then unplugged it. This morning after it was asleep all night, I find it drained this morning.

Error message on brand new WLC2504; "Failed to write...."

I have received a new WLC2504 for my lab, which is nice.... :-)
What's not so nice is that I get a mysterious error message on the console. It appeared when the wizard started at first boot and it apperars at every startup since.
I have gone through the wizard twice and reset to factory defaults in between but the error message persists. It looks like this :

I would suggest talked to TAC & RMA if that is their view on this.
Normally you should not get any errors like this on console, if it is working properly

HT1689 I keep getting booted out of the itunes store on my brand new iPod touch. What can I do to fix the problem?

I just got my son a new iPod touch and he is trying to use the itunes store but it keeps booting him out and back to the main screen with all of his apps on it. I've tried it myself several times and it does it to me as well. I have an iPhone and have never had this issue. Does anyone know what the issue is? He is not thinking this is the greatest Christmas present at this point.

Can't get brand new WRT610N to work with Billion 7404 VGOM

Just bought a LinkSys WRT610n and I can't get the darned thing to work with my Billion 7404VGOM.
At the moment I just want to network my pc to the LinkSys, LinkSys connects to my 7404 which is connected to the internet.
I've tried using DHCP automatic connection with the WRT610N, but it just doesn't talk route any traffic to the 7404...and thus nothing to the internet.
All cables and plugged in correctly, I tried the auto setup also but just can't figure the thing out.
Any suggestions?

I can't ping my 7404 modem from my PC when connected through the WRT610N. I can ping the WRT610N successfully, but when trying to ping the 7404 the WRT returns "Destination Host Unreachable"
7404 is function fine if I just connect to it directly though.
I don't understand, even If I couldn't get DHCP info working or syncing between both devices, it should still be able to ping it.....?
Right, I just plugged in my netbook via network cable into the "Internet" port on my WRT610N. I try to ping the router using this (it doesn't get any DHCP settings from the router, so I just set it manually and use the WRT as default gateway ip)...I just get request timed out.
I should be able to do this right?....starting to think my WRT610n has a dodgy "Internet" port.
Any suggestions?

If you connect your notebook via network cable into the "Internet" port on the WRT610N and if you ping the router it will not reply...also your Notebook will get any DHCP setting with this connection...However what exactly is Billion 7404VGOM ? A modem i guess!! Who is your ISP ?

Interesting speeds on brand new WRT610N

I have a Linksys WRT610N wireless router with a laptop running an Intel WiFi Link 5100 wireless LAN adapter. The router shows a max speed of 270mbps and the adapter shows a max speed of 300mbps. However, the highest speed I can get out of the network is 135mbps (according to Linksys' software and Windows' Task Manager). Even though the laptop is in a direct line of sight 5 feet from the router, I can't get it to surpass 135mbps, and if I force the router to broadcast 270mbps, I will reach it, but networking will be nearly impossible as nothing will load in less than 5 minutes, and the connection will cut off at some point, and I won't be able to reconnect. If I move away a bit I achieve the same result. I'm thinking it's a configuration issue, as I've read from Google searches other users with similar configurations achieve 270mbps.
Running the latest firmware (1.00.00 B18).
I'm very tech-knowledgeable, however, I've never used a wireless router before, so I'm at a loss here.

Thought I'd post this here too: I had the same issue and I've done a bit of testing, so here's my 2-cents:
This performance issue is a Wifi 5100 problem. I have tried connecting to a WRT610n and a NETGEAR WNDR3300. Both produce the same results.
Connecting to a NETGEAR WNHDE111 access point gets me 150Mbps. This AP is a bit more flexible in terms of supporting all the 11n modes. The WNHDE111 also has a status screen that shows the downstream connection speed, and this shows me a speed of 300Mbps.
So I think the issue is this: the Wifi 5100 has a max TRANSMIT rate of 150Mbps; see here:

When setting transmit speed with the WRT610n and WNDR3300, the Wifi 5100 picks the nearest supported speed which is 135Mbps. The WNHDE111 supports 150, so that's what you get. Windows shows the lower of Tx/Rx speed, and so that's what you see in Wireless Status screen.
So 135Mbps most likely means you're operating at near peak capacity for the Wifi 5100 and probably have a downstream rate of 270 to 300Mbps.
What ticks me off is that I spent $$$$ on this laptop, and didn't know the Wifi 5100 was 11n challenged.
FWIW I've had no problems with the WRT610n and like it, though clearly a status screen showing Tx and Rx bit rates for each client would be a nice addition.
ALSO updating to the latest Intel drivers and disabling security produces the same results so don't bother.

And the release notes say that the 4965AGN version of this card has issues with AES, so for yuks I tried disabling security. Same result.

The transfer of purchased music to a new iphone fails. What to do?

After the home key on my old iPhone 4 failed I bought a new iPhone 5S. To transfer all purchased content to the new device, I transferred the purchased content and pulled a backup from the old unit, then restored the new unit from the backup I just made. All contacts and settings were tranfered successfully, as were all apps.
Ringtones and all purchased music, however, could not be transferred. The files show up in the iTunes library all right, and I can play all content there, but I cannot transfer any of it. Trying to retore the music through the iTunes Store by selecting "not on this iPhone" brings up the following message: "all available content transferred". Yet the library on the phone is empty.
It seems to me like all purchased content (books, music and films) is impossible to transfer or recover. Does anyone have any suggestions other than switching to pirated content from here on forward?

Anything you want to transfer, just copy it to a USB flash drive or external hard drive, and from there to the new computer.
If you want to keep your iTunes library intact, as far as playcounts, playlists, etc, a few extra steps are required. First, on the old machine, run Library > Consolidate. Then copy the entire iTunes folder to the external device, and from there to the new machine.

If you got them from a real Apple Store they are covered by warranty. Take it back and get a free replacement.
Of course, it could be that the cables are OK but you have a defective charger (if you are getting errors while charging)

Brand new iPhone 5c upgrade says 'no service' when nano sim is inserted.

My brother's HTC contract ran out so he got an iPhone 5C last night. He didn't change networks or change his number and the salesman said that the new sim card he gave him would be ready to go when he put it in the phone with the same number etc. When he got it home he put the nano sim into the new phone but it just says 'no service' at the top left of the screen. Has anyone else encountered this?
He's tried restarting the phone and enabling/disabling aeroplane mode as other forums suggested.

I would suggest that just didn't happen call the Carrier customer support and find out the issue
